⁹ And Moses wrote this Law and delivered it to the priests, the sons of Levi, who carried the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, and to all the elders of Israel.

¹⁵ And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the vessels of the sanctuary, when the camp is to set forward, then after that the sons of Kohath shall come to carry it. But they shall not touch any holy thing lest they die. These are the burden of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation.

² And Moses wrote their goings out according to their journeys by the command of Jehovah. And these are their journeys according to their starting-places.

¹⁸ And it shall be, when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, he shall write a copy of this Law in a book from before the priests, the Levites.

²² And Moses wrote this song the same day, and taught it to the sons of Israel. ²³ And he commanded Joshua the son of Nun, and said: Be strong and of a good courage. For you shall bring the sons of Israel into the land which I swore to them, and I will be with you. ²⁴ And it happened when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this Law in a book, until they were finished, ²⁵ Moses commanded the Levites who carried the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, saying, ²⁶ Take this book of the Law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of Jehovah your God, so that it may be there for a witness against you.

²⁸ Gather to me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, so that I may speak these words in their ears, and call Heaven and earth to record against them.

³ And they commanded the people saying, When you see the ark of the covenant of Jehovah your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then you shall move from your place and go after it.

¹⁴ And it happened, when the people moved from their tents to pass over Jordan, and as the priests carried the ark of the covenant before the people, ¹⁵ and as those who bore the ark had come to Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bore the ark were dipped in the edge of the water (for Jordan overflows all its banks, all the time of harvest); ¹⁶ that the waters which came down from above stopped and rose up all in a heap, very far from the city Adam that is beside Zaretan. And those that came down toward the sea of the plain, the Salt Sea, were completely cut off. And the people passed over across from Jericho. ¹⁷ And the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of Jehovah stood firm on dry ground in the middle of Jordan. And all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people had passed completely over Jordan.

¹² And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of Jehovah.

³ And all the elders of Israel came in, and the priests took up the ark.

² Then David said, No one ought to carry the ark of God except the Levites, for God has chosen them to carry the ark of God, and to minister to Him forever.

¹² And he said to them, You are the heads of the fathers of the Levites. Sanctify yourselves, you and your brothers, so that you may bring up the ark of Jehovah, the God of Israel to the place which I have prepared for it. ¹³ For because you did not do it at the first, Jehovah our God made a break on us, since we did not seek Him in due order. ¹⁴ And the priests and the Levites made themselves pure in order to bring up the ark of Jehovah, the God of Israel. ¹⁵ And the sons of the Levites carried the ark of God on their shoulders, with the staves on it, as Moses commanded according to the Word of Jehovah.

¹³ As it is written in the Law of Moses, all this evil has come on us. Yet we did not make our prayer before Jehovah our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand Your truth.

⁶ My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you from being priest to Me. Since you have forgotten the Law of your God, I will also forget your sons, even I.

⁷ For the priest's lips should guard knowledge, and they should seek the Law at his mouth; for he is the messenger of Jehovah of Hosts.

⁴ Remember the Law of Moses My servant, which I commanded to him in Horeb for all Israel, the statutes and judgments.

⁴ And they said, Moses allowed a bill of divorce to be written, and to put her away. ⁵ And Jesus answered and said to them, He wrote you this precept because of the hardness of your hearts.

¹⁹ Teacher, Moses wrote to us, If a man's brother die and leaves his wife, and leaves no children, his brother should take his wife and raise up seed to his brother.

²⁸ saying, Teacher, Moses wrote to us, If anyone's brother dies, having a wife, and if he dies without children, his brother should take his wife and raise up seed to his brother.

¹⁷ For the Law came through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

⁴⁵ Philip found Nathanael and said to him, We have found Him of whom Moses wrote in the Law and the Prophets, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

⁴⁶ For if you had believed Moses, you would have believed Me, for he wrote of Me.
