² And I went up by revelation. And I put before them the gospel which I proclaim in the nations, but privately to those seeming to be pillars, lest I run, or I ran, into vanity.

¹ As dead flies cause the perfumer's ointment to stink and ferment; so a little folly is more rare than wisdom and than honor.

¹⁶ Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be as wise as serpents and as harmless as doves.

³⁴ Then there stood up one in the sanhedrin, a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a doctor of the Law honored among all the people. And he commanded the apostles to be put outside a little space.

⁴ And arriving in Jerusalem, they were received by the church, and by the apostles and elders. And they declared all things that God had done with them.

¹² And all the multitude kept silent and listened to Barnabas and Paul declaring what miracles and wonders God had worked among the nations through them.

⁹ And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A certain man of Macedonia stood, begging him, saying, Come over into Macedonia and help us! ¹⁰ And after he saw the vision, we immediately tried to go into Macedonia, gathering that the Lord had called us in order to preach the gospel to them.

⁹ And the Lord spoke to Paul in the night by a vision, Do not be afraid, but speak, and be not silent.

¹¹ And the following night the Lord stood by him and said, Be of good cheer, Paul, for as you have testified of Me in Jerusalem, so you also must bear witness at Rome.

²³ but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block, and to the Greeks foolishness.

² For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

²⁴ Do you not know that those running in a race all run, but one receives the prize? So run, that you may obtain.

²⁶ So then I run, not as if I were uncertain. And so I fight, not as one who beats the air.

¹⁶ to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the nations, immediately I did not confer with flesh and blood;

⁶ But from those who seemed to be something (what kind they were then does not matter to me; God does not accept the face of man), for those seeming important conferred nothing to me.

⁹ and knowing the grace given to me, James, and Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, gave right hands of fellowship to Barnabas and me, that we go to the nations, but they to the circumcision.

¹⁶ holding forth the Word of Life, so that I may rejoice with you in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain nor labored in vain.

²⁹ Therefore receive him in the Lord with all gladness, and hold such in honor,

⁵ For this cause, when I could no longer endure, I also sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter may have tempted you and our labor may have been in vain.
