¹ Say to your brothers, A People; and to your sisters, Mercy. ² Contend! Contend with your mother, for she is not my wife, nor am I her husband. Let her therefore put away her fornications out of her sight, and her adulteries from between her breasts, ³ lest I strip her naked and set her out as in the day that she was born; and lest I make her as the wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and slay her with thirst. ⁴ And I will not have mercy on her sons, for they are the sons of adulteries. ⁵ For their mother has prostituted herself. She who conceived them has done shamefully. For she said, I will go after my lovers who give my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, my oil and my drink. ⁶ Therefore behold, I will hedge your way with thorns, and wall up her wall, that she shall not find her paths. ⁷ And she shall follow after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them. She shall seek them, but shall not find them. Then she shall say, I will go and return to my first husband, for then it was better with me than now. ⁸ For she did not know that I gave her grain, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared for Baal. ⁹ So I will return and take away My grain in its time, and my wine in its season, and will recover my wool and my flax given to cover her nakedness. ¹⁰ And now I will uncover her shamefulness in the sight of her lovers, and none shall deliver her out of my hand. ¹¹ I will also cause all her joy to cease, her feast days, her new moons, and her sabbaths, and all her appointed feasts. ¹² And I will destroy her vines and her fig trees, of which she has said, They are my rewards that my lovers have given me. And I will make them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat them. ¹³ And I will visit on her the days of the Baals, in which she burned incense to them, and she adorned herself with her nose-rings and her jewels, and she went after her lovers and forgot Me, says Jehovah. ¹⁴ Therefore, behold, I will lure her and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably to her. ¹⁵ And I will give her vineyards to her from there, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope. And she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt. ¹⁶ And it shall be at that day, says Jehovah, you shall call Me, My Husband, and shall no more call Me, My Baal. ¹⁷ For I will take away the names of the Baals out of her mouth, and they will no more be remembered by their name. ¹⁸ And in that day I will cut a covenant for them, with the beasts of the field, and with the birds of the heavens, and with the creeping things of the ground. And I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make them to lie down safely. ¹⁹ And I will betroth you to Me forever. Yea, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in loving-kindness, and in mercies. ²⁰ I will even betroth you to Me in faithfulness. And you shall know Jehovah. ²¹ And it will be, in that day I will answer, says Jehovah. I will answer the heavens, and they shall answer the earth, ²² and the earth shall hear the grain and the wine and the oil. And they shall hear Jezreel. ²³ And I will sow her to Me in the earth. And I will have mercy on No-mercy. And I will say to Not-my-people, You are My people. And they shall say, My God.

¹ Then the sons of Moses and Israel sang this song to Jehovah, and spoke, saying, I will sing to Jehovah, for He has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider He has thrown into the sea. ² Jehovah is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will glorify Him, my father's God, and I will exalt Him. ³ Jehovah is a Man of war; Jehovah is His name. ⁴ Pharaoh's chariots and his army He has thrown into the sea; his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red Sea. ⁵ The depths have covered them; they sank into the bottom like a stone. ⁶ Your right hand, O Jehovah, has become glorious in power. Your right hand, O Jehovah, has dashed the enemy in pieces. ⁷ And in the greatness of Your excellency You have overthrown them that rose up against You. You sent forth Your wrath, consuming them like stubble. ⁸ And with the blast of Your nostrils the waters were gathered together; the floods stood upright like a heap; the depths were curdled in the heart of the sea. ⁹ The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them, I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them. ¹⁰ You blew with Your wind; the sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters. ¹¹ Who is like You, O Jehovah, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? ¹² You stretched out Your right hand, the earth swallowed them. ¹³ You in Your mercy have led forth the people which You have redeemed. You have guided them in Your strength to Your holy habitation. ¹⁴ The people shall hear, being afraid. Sorrow shall take hold on the people of Philistia. ¹⁵ Then the princes of Edom were terrified. Trembling seized upon the mighty men of Moab. All the people of Canaan shall melt away. ¹⁶ Fear and dread shall fall upon them. By the greatness of Your arm they shall be still as a stone, until Your people pass over, O Jehovah; until the people whom You have purchased pass over. ¹⁷ You shall bring them and plant them in the mountain of Your inheritance, the place, O Jehovah, You have made for You to dwell in; the Sanctuary, O Jehovah, which Your hands have established. ¹⁸ Jehovah shall reign forever and ever. ¹⁹ For the horses of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and Jehovah brought again the waters of the sea upon them. But the sons of Israel went on dry land in the middle of the sea. ²⁰ And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand. And all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. ²¹ And Miriam answered them, Sing to Jehovah, for He has triumphed gloriously. The horse and his rider He has thrown into the sea.

³ And the people thirsted there for water. And the people murmured against Moses and said, Why is this, that You brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our sons and our cattle with thirst?

⁵ And now if you will obey My voice indeed, and keep My covenant, then you shall be a peculiar treasure to Me above all the nations; for all the earth is Mine. ⁶ And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the words which you shall speak to the sons of Israel.

¹³ And be watchful in all that I have said to you. And make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of your mouth.

² And Aaron said to them, Break off the golden earrings which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them to me. ³ And all the people broke off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them to Aaron. ⁴ And he took them from their hand, and fashioned it with an engraving tool. And he made it a molten calf. And they said, These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.

³⁴ And now go, lead the people to the place of which I have spoken to you. Behold, My Angel shall go before you. And in the day of My visitation I will visit their sin upon them.

⁵ And your threshing shall reach to the vintage, and the vintage shall reach to the sowing time. And you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely. ⁶ And I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down and none shall make you afraid. And I will cause evil beasts to cease out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.

⁴⁰ If they shall confess their wilfulness and the wilfulness of their fathers, with their sin which they sinned against Me, and that also they have walked contrary to Me, ⁴¹ I also will walk contrary to them and will bring them into the land of their enemies. If then their uncircumcised hearts are humbled, and they then pay for their iniquity, ⁴² then I will remember My covenant with Jacob, and also My covenant with Isaac, and also My covenant with Abraham I will remember. And I will remember the land. ⁴³ The land also shall be forsaken by them, and shall enjoy its sabbaths, while it lies waste without them. And they shall accept the punishment of their iniquities; because, even because they despised My judgments, and because their soul hated My statutes. ⁴⁴ And yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I hate them, to destroy them utterly and to break My covenant with them. For I am Jehovah their God. ⁴⁵ But for their sakes, I will remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, so that I might be their God. I am Jehovah.

¹⁷ Then Israel sang this song, Spring up, O well. Sing to it.

¹⁰ And it shall be when Jehovah your God has brought you into the land which He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you great and good cities which you did not build, ¹¹ and houses full of every good thing which you did not fill, and wells which are dug, but which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant, and you shall eat and be full, ¹² you shall be on guard lest you forget Jehovah who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of slaves.

¹¹ Beware that you do not forget Jehovah your God, in not keeping His commandments, and His judgments, and His statutes, which I command you today, ¹² lest when you have eaten and are full and have built good houses and lived in them, ¹³ and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold is multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied, ¹⁴ then your heart might be lifted up, and you might forget Jehovah your God who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of slaves.

¹⁷ and so that you might not say in your heart, My power and the might of my hand has gotten me this wealth. ¹⁸ But you shall remember Jehovah your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, so that He may confirm His covenant which He has sworn to your fathers, as it is today.

¹⁷ You have today said that Jehovah is your God, and that you would walk in His ways, and keep His statutes and His commandments and His judgments, and listen to His voice. ¹⁸ And Jehovah has taken you today to be His peculiar people, as He has promised you, and to keep all His commandments, ¹⁹ and to make you high above all nations which He has made, in praise and in name and in honor, and that you may be a holy people to Jehovah your God, even as He has spoken.

³ then Jehovah your God will turn your captivity. And He will have compassion on you, and will return and gather you from all the nations where Jehovah your God has scattered you. ⁴ If you are driven out into the outermost parts of the heavens, Jehovah your God will gather you from there, and He will bring you from there. ⁵ And Jehovah your God will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it. And He will do you good, and multiply you above your fathers.

¹³ He made him ride on the high places of the earth, so that he might eat the increase of the fields. And He made him suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock, ¹⁴ butter from cows, and milk from sheep, with fat of lambs, and rams of the sons of Bashan, and goats, with the fat of kidneys of wheat. And you drank the blood of the grape. ¹⁵ But Jeshurun grew fat and kicked. You grew fat, thick, and satisfied. Then he forsook God who made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.

¹⁸ You forgot the Rock who brought you forth, and ceased to care for God who formed you.

²⁶ And they raised over him a great heap of stones to this day. And Jehovah turned from the greatness of His anger. Therefore, the name of that valley is called, The Valley of Grief, to this day.

⁷ so that you do not come among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow yourselves to them.

¹¹ And the sons of Israel did evil in the sight of Jehovah, and served Baals. ¹² And they forsook Jehovah, the God of their fathers, who brought them out of the land of Egypt. And they followed other gods of the gods of the people who were around them, and bowed themselves to them, and provoked Jehovah to anger. ¹³ And they forsook Jehovah and served Baal and Ashtaroth.

⁷ And the sons of Israel did evil in the sight of Jehovah and forgot Jehovah their God, and served Baals and the Asherahs.

²⁷ And they went out into the fields and gathered their vineyards and trod the grapes, and made merry, and went into the house of their god, and ate and drank, and cursed Abimelech.

⁶ And the sons of Israel did evil again in the sight of Jehovah, and served the Baals and Ashtoreths, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Sidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the sons of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines. And they left Jehovah, and did not serve Him.

¹⁸ And he was very thirsty and called upon Jehovah and said, You have given this great deliverance into the hand of Your servant. And now shall I die with thirst, and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised?

²³ Then the lords of the Philistines gathered in order to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon their god, and to rejoice. For they said, Our god has delivered Samson our enemy into our hand.

¹ And there was a man of Mount Ephraim, and his name was Micah. ² And he said to his mother, The eleven hundred shekels of silver which were taken from you, about which you cursed, and spoke of also in my ears, behold, the silver is with me. Behold, I took it. And his mother said, Be blessed of Jehovah, my son. ³ And when he had given back the eleven hundred of silver to his mother, his mother said, I had wholly given the silver to Jehovah from my hand for my son to make a graven image and a molten image. And now I am giving it to you. ⁴ And he gave the money back to his mother. And his mother took two hundred shekels of silver and gave them to a refiner, who made of it an engraved image and a molten image. And they were in the house of Micah. ⁵ And the man Micah had a house of gods, and made an ephod and household gods, and anointed one of his sons, who became his priest.

³ And her husband arose and went after her, to speak friendly to her, to bring her again, having his servant with him and a couple of asses. And she brought him into her father's house. And when the father of the girl saw him, he rejoiced to meet him.

⁹ And they forgot Jehovah their God. And He sold them into the hand of Sisera, captain of the army of Hazor, and into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the king of Moab, and they fought against them.

³² And Jeroboam ordered a feast in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, like the feast that is in Judah. And he offered on the altar. So he did in Bethel, sacrificing to the calves that he had made. And he placed in Bethel the priests of the high places which he had made.

³¹ And as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, he also took Jezebel, the daughter of Eth-baal king of the Sidonians, for a wife. And he went and served Baal, and worshiped him. ³² And he reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.

¹⁸ And he answered, I have not troubled Israel, but you and your father's house have, in that you have forsaken the commandments of Jehovah, and you have followed the Baals. ¹⁹ And now send and gather to me all Israel to mount Carmel, and four hundred and fifty of the prophets of Baal, and four hundred of the prophets of Asherah, who eat at Jezebel's table. ²⁰ And Ahab sent to all the sons of Israel, and gathered the prophets together to mount Carmel. ²¹ And Elijah came to all the people and said, How long are you limping over two opinions? If Jehovah is God, follow Him. But if Baal is God, then follow him. And the people did not answer him a word. ²² And Elijah said to the people, I, I alone, remain a prophet of Jehovah. But Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men. ²³ And let them give us two bulls, and let them choose one bull for themselves, and cut it in pieces and lay it on wood. But place no fire. And I will dress the other bull and lay it on wood, and place no fire. ²⁴ And you call on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of Jehovah. And it shall be, the god that answers by fire, He is God. And all the people answered and said, The word is good. ²⁵ And Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, Choose one bull for yourselves, and prepare first, for you are many. And call on the name of your god, but place no fire. ²⁶ And they took the bull which was given them, and they dressed, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any who answered. And they leaped on the altar which was made. ²⁷ And it happened at noon Elijah mocked them and said, Cry with a great voice, for he is a god. Either he is meditating, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey; perhaps he is asleep and must be awakened! ²⁸ And they cried with a loud voice and cut themselves with knives and spears until the blood gushed out on them, as is their way. ²⁹ And it happened when midday was past, and when they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor anyone who paid attention. ³⁰ And Elijah said to all the people, Come near to me. And all the people came near him. And he repaired the broken down altar of Jehovah. ³¹ And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, to whom the Word of Jehovah came, saying, Israel shall be your name. ³² And with stones he built an altar in the name of Jehovah. And he made a trench around the altar big enough to contain two measures of seed. ³³ And he arranged the wood, and cut the bull in pieces, and placed it on the wood, and said, Fill four water jars with water and pour on the burnt sacrifice and on the wood. ³⁴ And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time. ³⁵ And the water ran all around the altar. And he filled the trench also with water. ³⁶ And it happened at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, Elijah the prophet came near and said, Jehovah, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that You are God in Israel, and that I am Your servant, and that I have done all these things at Your Word. ³⁷ Hear me, O Jehovah, hear me, that this people may know that You are Jehovah God, and that You have turned their heart back again. ³⁸ And the fire of Jehovah fell and burned up the burnt sacrifice and the wood, and the stones and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. ³⁹ And when all the people saw, they fell on their faces. And they said, Jehovah, He is the God! Jehovah, He is the God! ⁴⁰ And Elijah said to them, Take the prophets of Baal. Do not let one of them escape. And they took them. And Elijah brought them down to the torrent Kishon and killed them there.

² And Ahaziah fell down through a lattice in his upper room in Samaria, and was sick. And he sent messengers and said to them, Go, ask of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron whether I shall recover of this disease.

²² And it happened when Jehoram saw Jehu, he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the harlotries of your mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?

²⁸ And Jehu destroyed Baal out of Israel.

³ For he built up again the high places which his father Hezekiah had destroyed. And he reared up altars for Baal, and made an Asherah, as Ahab king of Israel did. And he worshiped all the host of heaven, and served them.

²⁰ And Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria came to him and troubled him, but did not strengthen him. ²¹ For Ahaz took away a portion of the house of Jehovah, and of the house of the king, and of the rulers, and gave it to the king of Assyria. But it was no help to him. ²² And in the time of his distress he trespassed even more against Jehovah, this King Ahaz.

⁶ And I said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to You, my God. For our iniquities have increased over our heads, and our guiltiness has grown up to the heavens. ⁷ Since the days of our fathers we have been in a great sin until this day. And for our iniquities we, our kings, our priests, have been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to shame of face, as it is this day.

⁸ I pray You, remember the Word that You commanded Your servant Moses, saying, If you sin, I will scatter you among the nations, ⁹ but if you turn to Me, and keep My commandments and do them, though you were cast out to the outermost part of the heavens, yet I will gather you from there and will bring you to the place that I have chosen to set My name there.

²⁵ And they took strong cities and a rich land, and possessed houses full of all goods, wells already dug, vineyards and olive-yards, and fruit trees in abundance. And they ate and were filled, and became fat, and delighted themselves in Your great goodness. ²⁶ But they were disobedient and rebelled against You, and cast Your Law behind their backs. And they killed Your prophets who testified against them to turn them to You, and they worked great blasphemies.

²³ To a man whose way is hidden, God has made a hedge about him.

²³ For you shall be in covenant with the stones of the field; and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with you.

¹³ So are the paths of all who forget God; and the hope of the ungodly shall perish.

⁸ He has fenced up my way so that I cannot pass, and He has set darkness in my paths.

⁴ Their sorrows shall be multiplied who run after another god. I will not pour out their drink offerings of blood; and I will not take their names on my lips.

²⁷ All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to Jehovah; and all the families of the nations shall worship before You.

² He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.

⁹ who makes wars to cease to the ends of the earth; He breaks the bow, and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariots in the fire.

²² Now think of this, you who forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.

³¹ Princes shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall stretch out her hands to God.

¹⁶ There shall be a fullness of grain in the earth on the top of the mountains; its fruit shall shake like Lebanon, and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.

¹¹ And they forgot His works and His wonders which He had shown them.

¹² Why have You broken down its hedges, so that all those who pass by the way pluck it?

¹⁰ Mercy and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

¹ He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall rest under the shadow of the Almighty. ² I will say of Jehovah, my refuge and my fortress; my God; in Him I will trust. ³ Surely He will deliver you from the fowler's trap and from the destroying plague. ⁴ He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall trust. His truth shall be your shield, and buckler. ⁵ You shall not fear the terror by night; nor because of the arrow that flies by day; ⁶ nor for the plague that walks in darkness, of the destruction laying waste at noonday. ⁷ A thousand shall fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; it shall not come near you. ⁸ Only with your eyes you shall look and see the reward of the wicked. ⁹ Because You, O Jehovah, are My refuge; if You have made the Most High Your dwelling-place, ¹⁰ no evil shall befall You, nor shall any plague come near Your dwelling. ¹¹ For He shall give His angels charge over You, to keep You in all Your ways. ¹² They shall bear You up in their hands, lest You dash your foot against a stone. ¹³ You shall tread on the lion and adder; the young lion and the jackal You shall trample underfoot.

¹² Then they believed His Words; they sang His praise. ¹³ They hurried and forgot His works; they did not wait for His counsel;

⁷ Return to your rest, O my soul; for Jehovah has dealt bountifully with you.

²⁸ You are my God, and I will exalt You; You are my God, I will praise You.

²¹ Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be innocent; but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.

⁴ Draw me, we will run after You. The King has brought me into his chambers; we will be glad and rejoice in You, we will remember Your love more than wine; the upright love You.

¹⁶ My Beloved is mine, and I am His; He feeds among the lilies.

³ The ox knows his owner, and the ass his master's crib; but Israel does not know; My people do not understand.

¹³ Bring no more vain sacrifice; incense is an abomination to Me; the new moon and sabbath, the going to meeting; I cannot endure evil and the assembly! ¹⁴ Your new moons and your appointed feasts My soul hates; they are a trouble to Me; I am weary to bear them.

²¹ How has the faithful city become a harlot? It was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it, but now murderers.

²⁷ Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her returning ones with righteousness.

⁴ And He shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning-hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

¹¹ The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the pride of men shall be bowed down, and Jehovah alone shall be exalted in that day.

¹⁷ And the pride of man shall be bowed down, and the loftiness of men shall be made low; and Jehovah alone shall be exalted in that day.

¹⁷ therefore Jehovah will strike with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and Jehovah will make their secret parts naked. ¹⁸ In that day the Lord will take away the beauty of ankle-bracelets, and the headbands, and the crescents, ¹⁹ the pendants, and the bracelets, and the veils; ²⁰ the headdresses, and the leg ornaments, and the sashes, and the houses of the soul, and the amulets; ²¹ the rings and nose jewels; ²² the festal apparel and the outer garments; and the mantles, and the purses; ²³ the mirrors and the fine linen; and the turbans and the veils. ²⁴ And it shall be, instead of sweet smell, there shall be an odor of decay; and instead of a sash, a rope; and instead of well-set hair, baldness; and instead of a rich robe, a wrapping of sackcloth; burning instead of beauty. ²⁵ Your men shall fall by the sword, and your mighty in the war. ²⁶ And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she shall sit deserted on the ground.

⁵ And now I will tell you what I will do to My vineyard; I will take away its hedge, and it shall be eaten up; and break down its wall, and it shall be trampled down;

²³ And it shall be, in that day every place where there were a thousand vines, worth a thousand pieces of silver, it shall even be for briers and thorns.

⁶ Also the wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the cub lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. ⁷ And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. ⁸ And the suckling child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder's den. ⁹ They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of Jehovah, as the waters cover the sea.

¹⁰ Because you have forgotten the God of your salvation, and have not been mindful of the Rock of your strength, therefore you shall plant pleasant plants and shall sow it a fresh shoot.

¹⁰ And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem. And the battle bow shall be cut off, and He shall speak peace to the nations; and His dominion shall be from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth.

¹² Turn to the stronghold, prisoners of hope; even today I declare that I will return to you double.

⁹ And I will sow them among the peoples, and they shall remember Me in the distances; and they shall live with their sons and return.

² And it shall be in that day, says Jehovah of Hosts, I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall be remembered no more. And also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.

⁹ And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried. They shall call on My name, and I will answer them; I will say, It is My people; and they shall say, Jehovah is my God.

⁴ And His feet shall stand in that day on the Mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall divide from its middle, from the east and to the west, a very great valley. And half of the mountain shall move toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

⁹ And Jehovah shall be King over all the earth; in that day there shall be one Jehovah, and His name shall be one.

¹⁶ And it shall be, everyone who is left of all the nations which came up against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, Jehovah of Hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.

⁴ If Edom says, We are beaten down, but we will return and build the waste places. So says Jehovah of Hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them the region of wickedness, and the people with whom Jehovah is indignant forever.

¹¹ For from the rising of the sun even to its going in, My name shall be great among the nations; and everywhere incense shall be offered to My name, and a pure food offering. For My name shall be great among the nations, says Jehovah of Hosts.

¹⁸ Then you shall again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between him who serves God, and him who does not serve Him.

³³ But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.

²⁷ All things are delivered to Me by My Father. And no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son will reveal Him.

³⁷ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one killing the prophets and stoning those who are sent to her, how often would I have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you would not! ³⁸ Behold, your house is left to you desolate. ³⁹ For I say to you, You shall not see Me from now on until you say, "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord."

²² All things are delivered to Me by My Father; and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and the one to whom the Son will reveal Him.

² For there is nothing covered that shall not be revealed, nor anything hidden that shall not be known. ³ Therefore whatever you have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light. And that which you have spoken in the ear in secret rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops.

And there he wasted his property, living dissolutely. ¹⁴ And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land. And he began to be in want. ¹⁵ And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country. And he sent him into his fields to feed pigs. ¹⁶ And he was longing to fill his belly with the husks that the pigs ate, and no one gave to him. ¹⁷ And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father abound in loaves, and I perish with hunger! ¹⁸ I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, Father, I have sinned against Heaven and before you ¹⁹ and am no more worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants. ²⁰ And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.

¹ And He also said to His disciples, There was a certain rich man who had a steward. And he was accused to him, that he had wasted his goods. ² And he called him and said to him, What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your stewardship, for you may no longer be steward.

⁴³ For the days will come on you that your enemies will raise up a rampart to you, and will surround you, and will keep you in on every side.

²⁹ He who has the bride is the bridegroom, but the friend of the bridegroom who stands and hears him rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice. Then my joy is fulfilled.

⁴⁴ No one can come to Me unless the Father who has sent Me draw him, and I will raise him up at the last day.

³ And this is life eternal, that they might know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

⁵¹ O stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so you do. ⁵² Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of the Just One, of whom you have now been the betrayers and murderers; ⁵³ who received the Law through disposition of angels, and did not keep it.

And dragging men and women, he delivered them up to prison. ⁴ Then, indeed, the ones who had been scattered passed through, preaching the gospel, the Word.

²³ For as I passed by and saw the things you worship, I also found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Not knowing then whom you worship, I make Him known to you. ²⁴ The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of Heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands, ²⁵ nor is served with men's hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives life and breath and all things to all.

²⁸ And even as they did not think fit to have God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do the things not right,

²⁵ whom God has set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness through the passing by of the sins that had taken place before, in the forbearance of God; ²⁶ for the display of His righteousness at this time, for Him to be just and, forgiving the one being of the faith of Jesus.

²⁹ Or is He the God of the Jews only, and not also of the nations? Yes, of the nations also,

⁴ So, my brothers, you also have become dead to the law by the body of Christ so that you should be married to Another, even to Him raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit to God.

³² Truly He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

¹⁸ Therefore He has mercy on whom He will have mercy, and whom He will, He hardens.

²⁵ As He also says in Hosea, "I will call those not My people, My people; and those not beloved, Beloved." ²⁶ And it shall be, in the place where it was said to them. "You are not My people; there they shall be called sons of the living God."

²² Behold then the kindness, and the severity of God; on those having fallen, severity; but on you, kindness, if you continue in the kindness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.

²¹ Therefore let no one glory in men. For all things are yours, ²² whether it is Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours, ²³ and you are Christ's, and Christ is God's.

⁵ Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts. And then shall each one have praise of God.

¹ Therefore since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not faint.

⁶ For it is God who said, "Out of darkness Light shall shine;" who shone in our hearts to give the brightness of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

⁸ But no, rather, I also count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them to be dung, so that I may win Christ
