¹⁶ From the ends of the earth we have heard songs, glory to the righteous. But I said, Leanness to me! Leanness to me! Woe to me! Deceivers deceive, even with treachery. Deceivers deceive!

¹¹ Who is like You, O Jehovah, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

⁸ Ask of Me, and I shall give the nations for Your inheritance; and the uttermost parts of the earth for Your possession.

²⁷ All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to Jehovah; and all the families of the nations shall worship before You. ²⁸ For the kingdom is Jehovah's; and He is the ruler among the nations. ²⁹ All the fat ones on the earth shall eat and worship; all those who go down to the dust shall bow before Him; and none can keep alive his own soul. ³⁰ A seed shall serve Him; it shall be spoken of Jehovah to the coming generation. ³¹ They shall come, and shall declare His righteousness to a people that shall yet be born, that He has done this.

¹⁰ The righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance; he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.

⁷ God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.

⁸ He shall also have the rule from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth. ⁹ Those who dwell in the wilderness shall bow before Him; and His enemies shall lick the dust. ¹⁰ The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents; the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts. ¹¹ Yes, all kings shall fall down before Him; all nations shall serve Him.

³ He has remembered His mercy and His truth toward the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of Jehovah.

¹⁵ And He gave them what they asked, but sent leanness into their soul.

¹ O give thanks to Jehovah, for He is good; for His mercy endures forever. ² Let the redeemed of Jehovah say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy, ³ and gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south. ⁴ They wandered in the wilderness, in a desert by the way; they found no city to dwell in. ⁵ Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them. ⁶ Then they cried to Jehovah in their distress, and He delivered them out of their troubles. ⁷ And He guided them by the right way, so as to go to a city to live in. ⁸ Oh that men would praise Jehovah for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the sons of man! ⁹ For He satisfies the thirsty soul, and fills the hungry soul with good. ¹⁰ Those who sit in the darkness and in the shadow of death, being chained in affliction and iron; ¹¹ because they rebelled against the Words of God, and despised the advice of the Most High. ¹² and He humbled their heart with labor; they fell down, and none was helping. ¹³ Then they cried to Jehovah in their distress, and He saved them out of their troubles. ¹⁴ He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands in two. ¹⁵ Let them praise Jehovah for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the sons of man! ¹⁶ For He has broken the gates of bronze, and cut the bars of iron in two. ¹⁷ Fools are afflicted because of their rebellion, and because of their iniquities. ¹⁸ Their soul hates all kinds of food; and they draw near the gates of death. ¹⁹ Then they cry to Jehovah in their distress, and He saves them out of their troubles. ²⁰ He sent His Word and heals them, and delivers them from their pitfalls. ²¹ Let them praise Jehovah for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the sons of man! ²² And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing! ²³ They who go down to the sea in ships, who do business in great waters; ²⁴ these see the works of Jehovah and His wonders in the deep. ²⁵ For He commands and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up its waves. ²⁶ They mount up to the heavens, they go down again to the depths; their soul is melted because of trouble. ²⁷ They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and all their wisdom is swallowed up. ²⁸ And they cry to Jehovah in their trouble, and He brings them out of their troubles. ²⁹ He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still. ³⁰ And they are glad because they are quiet; so He brings them to their desired haven. ³¹ Let them praise Jehovah for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the sons of man! ³² And let them exalt Him in the congregation of the people, and praise Him in the gathering of the elders. ³³ He sets rivers to a wilderness and water-springs to thirsty ground; ³⁴ a fruitful land to a salty desert, because of the wickedness of those who dwell in it. ³⁵ He turns the wilderness into water-ponds, and dry ground into water-springs. ³⁶ And He makes the hungry dwell there, so that they may prepare a city to live in; ³⁷ and sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase. ³⁸ He also blesses them, so that they are multiplied greatly; and does not allow their cattle to become few. ³⁹ Again, they have become few, and humbled through harshness, affliction, and sorrow. ⁴⁰ He pours scorn on nobles, and causes them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no path. ⁴¹ But He raises up the poor from affliction and sets families like a flock. ⁴² The upright shall see and rejoice; and all iniquity shall stop its mouth. ⁴³ Whoever is wise, and will observe these things, they shall understand the mercies of Jehovah.

¹⁶ Therefore the Lord, Jehovah of Hosts, shall send leanness among his fat ones; and under his glory He shall kindle a burning like the burning of a fire.

⁴ And it shall be in that day, the glory of Jacob shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh shall become lean.

² A harsh vision is revealed to me; the deceiver deceives, and the plunderer plunders. Go up, O Elam; besiege, O Media! I have caused all her sighing to cease.

¹⁵ You have increased the nation, O Jehovah, You have increased the nation; You are glorified; You have extended all the ends of the land.

⁵ In that day Jehovah of Hosts shall be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, to the rest of His people,

¹ Woe to the destroyer, and you who have not been destroyed; and betrayer, and they have not betrayed you. When you stop destroying, you shall be destroyed. When you stop betraying, they shall betray you.

²² Turn to Me, and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other. ²³ I have sworn by Myself, the word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, that to Me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. ²⁴ He says, Only in Jehovah do I have righteousness and strength; even to Him he comes. And they are ashamed, all who are angry with Him. ²⁵ In Jehovah shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.

⁸ Yea, you did not hear; yea, you did not know; yea, from the time that your ear was not opened; for I surely know that you will betray and trespass; from the womb it was called to you.

¹⁰ Jehovah has bared His holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

²¹ Your people also will all be righteous; they will inherit the land forever, the branch of My planting, the work of My hands, so that I may be glorified.

¹⁹ And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those who escape from them to the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, drawers of the bow; to Tubal, and Javan, to the far away coasts that have not heard My fame, nor have seen My glory. And they will declare My glory among the nations. ²⁰ And they will bring all your brothers for an offering to Jehovah out of all nations on horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and on mules, and on camels, to My holy mountain Jerusalem, says Jehovah, as the sons of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of Jehovah.

²⁰ Surely as a wife treacherously departs from her husband, so you have dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, says Jehovah.

¹¹ For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have dealt very deceitfully against Me, says Jehovah.

¹ Righteous are You, O Jehovah, that I might contend with You; yet let me speak with You about Your judgments. Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why are all those happy who deal treacherously?

⁶ For even your brothers and the house of your father, even they have dealt treacherously with you. Yea, they have called a multitude after you. Do not believe them, though they speak good things to you.

² She bitterly weeps in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks; among all her lovers, she has none to comfort her. All her friends have dealt deceitfully with her; they became her enemies.

⁷ They have acted treacherously against Jehovah, for they have brought out strange sons. Now a new moon shall devour them with their portions.

⁷ But, like Adam, they have broken the covenant. They have acted like traitors against Me there.

⁴ And He shall stand and feed in the strength of Jehovah, in the majesty of the name of Jehovah His God. And they shall sit, for now He shall be great to the ends of the earth.

³ Why do You show me evil, and You look on toil? For destruction and violence are before me; and there is strife, and contention rises up.

²⁷ And then He shall send His angels and shall gather His elect from the four winds, from the end of the earth to the end of heaven.

⁴⁷ For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, "I have set You to be a light of the nations, for salvation to the end of the earth."

³ And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty, just and true are Your ways, O King of saints.

⁵ And I heard the angel of the waters say, Righteous is the Lord, who is, and was, and who will be, because You have judged these things, ⁶ since they have poured out the blood of the saints and prophets; and You gave them blood to drink, for they were deserving. ⁷ And I heard another out of the altar saying, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments.

¹ And after these things I heard a great sound of a numerous crowd in Heaven, saying, Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and honor and the power to the Lord our God! ² For true and righteous are His judgments. For He has judged the great harlot who defiled the earth with her fornication, and He has avenged the blood of His servants out of her hand. ³ And secondly they said, Hallelujah! And her smoke rose up forever and ever. ⁴ And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God sitting on the throne, saying, Amen! Hallelujah! ⁵ And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all His servants, and the ones fearing Him, the small and great. ⁶ And I heard as the sound of a great multitude, and as the sound of many waters, and as the sound of strong thunders, saying, Hallelujah! For the Lord God omnipotent reigns!
