¹⁸ And it shall be, he who flees from the sound of dread shall fall into the pit. And he who comes up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare. For the windows from on high are opened, and the foundations of the earth quake.

¹¹ In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, in the seventeenth day of the month, in this day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of the heavens were opened up.

²⁴ Then Jehovah rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire, from Jehovah out of the heavens.

²² For a fire is kindled in My anger, and shall burn to the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with its increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains. ²³ I will heap evils on them. I will spend My arrows on them. ²⁴ Exhaustion by famine, and consumption by burning heat, and bitter destruction, and the teeth of beasts I will send on them, with the poison of crawling things of the dust. ²⁵ The sword outside, and the terror inside, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of grey hairs. ²⁶ I said I would dash them to pieces; I would make the memory of them to cease from among men,

¹⁰ And Jehovah troubled them before Israel, and killed them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goes up to Beth-horon, and struck them to Azekah, and to Makkedah. ¹¹ And it happened, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the descent of Bethhoron, Jehovah cast down great stones from the heavens on them to Azekah, and they died. The many who died from hailstones were more than the sons of Israel killed with the sword.

²⁹ And they pitched over against one another seven days. And it happened in the seventh day, and the battle came up. And the sons of Israel struck Syria, a hundred thousand footmen in one day. ³⁰ But the rest fled to Aphek, into the city. And there a wall fell on twenty-seven thousand of those remaining. And Ben-hadad fled and came into the city, into an inner room.

² And the third officer on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if Jehovah would make windows in heaven, then this thing might be. And he said, Behold, you shall see with your eyes, but you shall not eat of it.

⁸ For he is thrown into a net by his own feet, and he walks on a net. ⁹ The trap shall take him by the heel, and the noose shall hold sway over him. ¹⁰ The pitfall is laid for him in the ground, and a trap for him in the way. ¹¹ Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and shall dash him at his feet. ¹² His strength shall be hunger-bitten, and trouble shall be ready at his side. ¹³ It shall devour the parts of his skin; the first-born of death consumes his parts. ¹⁴ His hope shall be rooted out of his tent, and you marched to the king of terrors. ¹⁵ What is not his shall dwell in his tent; brimstone shall be scattered on his home. ¹⁶ His roots shall be dried up beneath, and his branch shall wither above.

²⁴ He shall flee from the iron weapon, a bow of bronze shall pierce him.

⁷ Then the earth shook and trembled; and the foundations of the hills moved and were shaken, because He was angry.

¹⁵ Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were uncovered, at Your rebuke, O Jehovah, at the blast of the breath of Your nostrils.

² Therefore we will not fear when the earth changes, and when mountains are slipping into the heart of the seas. ³ Let its waters roar and foam; let the mountains shake with the swelling of it. Selah.
