¹ Man born of woman is of few days, and full of trouble. ² He comes forth like a flower, and withers; he also flees as a shadow, and does not stand. ³ And You open Your eyes on such a one, and bring me into judgment with You. ⁴ Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? No one! ⁵ For his days are fixed, the number of his months is with You, and You have set his bounds so that he cannot pass; ⁶ look away from him, so that he may rest until he shall finish his day, as a hireling. ⁷ For there is hope of a tree, if it is cut down, that it will sprout again, and its tender branch will not cease. ⁸ Though its root becomes old in the earth, and its stump dies in the dust, ⁹ yet at the scent of water it will bud and bring forth branches like a plant. ¹⁰ But man dies and is cut off; and man expires, and where is he? ¹¹ As the waters fail from the sea, and a river falls away and dries up, ¹² so man lies down and does not rise. Till the heavens are no more, they shall not awake, nor be awakened out of their sleep. ¹³ Who will grant that You would hide me in the grave, that You would keep me secret, until Your wrath is past, that You would set me a fixed time and remember me? ¹⁴ If a man die, shall he revive? All the days of my warfare I will wait, until my change comes. ¹⁵ You shall call, and I will answer You; You shall have a desire to the work of Your hands. ¹⁶ For now You number my steps; do You not watch over my sin? ¹⁷ My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and You cover over my iniquity. ¹⁸ And surely a falling mountain crumbles away, and the rock moves out of its place. ¹⁹ The waters wear away the stones; the outpouring of it washes the dust of the earth; and You cause the hope of man to perish. ²⁰ You overpower him forever, and he passes; You change his face, and send him away. ²¹ His sons come to honor, and he knows it not; they fall, but he does not mark it. ²² But his flesh is pained within him; and his soul mourns over him.

⁹ And Jacob said to Pharaoh, The days of the years of my pilgrimage are a hundred and thirty years. Few and evil have been the days of the years of my life, and I have not attained to the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.

⁷ but man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upward.

¹ Is there not a warfare to man on earth? Are not his days also like the days of a hireling?

⁶ My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle, and are ended without hope.

²⁵ Now my days are swifter than a runner; they flee away, they see no good.

¹⁴ What is man, that he should be clean? And what is he born of a woman that he should be righteous?

⁴ How then can man be justified with God? Or how can one who is born of a woman be clean?

⁵ Behold, You have made my days as a handbreadth, and my age is as nothing before You. Surely every man standing is altogether vanity. Selah.

⁵ Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.

¹⁷ Therefore I hated life; because the work that is done under the sun is sad to me; for all is vanity and vexation of spirit.

²³ For all his days are sorrows, and his labor sadness; yea, his heart does not take rest in the night. This is also vanity.

¹¹ Truly I say to you, Among those who have been born of women there has not risen a greater one than John the Baptist. But the least in the kingdom of Heaven is greater than he.

¹⁵ For we are strangers before You, and pilgrims, as our fathers were. Our days on the earth are like a shadow, and none abides.

⁹ for we are but of yesterday and know nothing, because our days on earth are a shadow.

²⁵ Now my days are swifter than a runner; they flee away, they see no good. ²⁶ They have passed away like the swift ships; like the eagle who swoops on the prey.

⁵ You carry them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep; in the morning they are like grass which grows up. ⁶ In the morning it sprouts and shoots up; in the evening it is cut down, and dries up. ⁷ For we are burned up by Your anger, and by Your wrath we are troubled. ⁸ You have set our iniquities before You, our secret sins in the light of Your face. ⁹ For all our days pass away in Your wrath; we finish our years like a murmur.

⁷ When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity blossom, it is that they shall be destroyed forever;

¹² The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree; he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

¹¹ My days are like a shadow stretched out; and I wither like grass.

¹⁵ As for man, his days are as grass; as a flower of the field, so he flourishes. ¹⁶ For the wind passes over it, and it is gone; and its place shall know it no more.

⁴ Man is like vanity; his days are like a shadow that passes away.

¹³ But it shall not be well with the wicked, nor shall he make his days longer like a shadow; because he does not fear before God.

⁶ The voice said, Cry! And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the beauty of it is as the flower of the field. ⁷ The grass withers, the flower fades, because the Spirit of Jehovah blows on it; surely the people is grass. ⁸ The grass withers, the flower fades; but the Word of our God shall stand forever.

¹⁰ and the rich one rejoice in his humiliation, because he shall pass away as the flower of the grass. ¹¹ For the sun rose with the hot wind and dried up the grass, and its flower fell out, and the beauty of its appearance perished; so also the rich one will fade away in his ways.

¹⁴ who do not know of the morrow. For what is your life? For it is a vapor, which appears for a little time, and then disappears.

²⁴ For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of men as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls out,

¹⁷ What is man, that You should magnify him, and that You should set Your heart on him, ¹⁸ and visit him every morning, trying him every moment?

¹⁹ If I speak of strength, lo, He is mighty! And if of judgment, who shall set me a time? ²⁰ If I justify myself, my own mouth shall condemn me; though I am perfect, He shall declare me perverse.

³² For He is not a man, as I am, that I should answer Him, that we should come together in judgment;

²⁵ Will You terrify a leaf driven to and fro? Will You pursue the dry stubble?

²⁷ You put my feet also in the stocks, and look closely to all my paths; You set a limit for the soles of my feet.

⁴ what is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man, that You visit him?

² And do not enter into judgment with Your servant, for in Your sight no one living is just.

³ O Jehovah, what is man that You take knowledge of him! Or the son of man, that You esteem him?

¹⁹ But we know that whatever things the Law says, it says to those who are under the Law; so that every mouth may be stopped and all the world may be under judgment before God,

³ And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years and fathered a son in his own likeness, after his own image. And he called his name Seth.

⁴ How then can man be justified with God? Or how can one who is born of a woman be clean? ⁵ Look even to the moon, and it shines not; yea, the stars are not pure in His sight; ⁶ how much less man who is a maggot, and the son of man, who is a worm?

⁵ You carry them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep; in the morning they are like grass which grows up.

³⁵ And the angel answered and said to her, The Holy Spirit shall come on you, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow you. Therefore also that Holy One which will be born of you shall be called Son of God.

⁶ That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

¹² Therefore, even as through one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, and so death passed on all men inasmuch as all sinned:

⁸ So then they who are in the flesh cannot please God. ⁹ But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone has not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His.

³ among whom we also had our way of life in times past, in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the thoughts, and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

¹⁰ In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all flesh, even of man?

¹⁴ If a man die, shall he revive? All the days of my warfare I will wait, until my change comes.

²¹ For what is his pleasure in his house after him, and the number of his months is cut off?

¹³ But He is in one mind, and who can turn Him? Yea, what His soul desires, He does it. ¹⁴ For He fulfilled my lot, and many things like these are with Him.

⁴ O Jehovah, make me to know my end, and the measure of my days, what it is; I know how frail I am.

⁹ You have set a bound that they may not pass over, so that they do not turn again to cover the earth.

²⁹ You hide Your face, they are troubled; You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust.

³⁵ And all the people of the earth are counted as nothing; and He does according to His will in the army of heaven, and among the people of the earth. And none can strike His hand, or say to Him, What are You doing?

²⁶ This is the meaning of the thing: A MINA, God has numbered your kingdom and finished it.

³⁰ In that night Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans was killed.

²⁴ Seventy weeks are decreed as to your people and as to your holy city, to finish the transgression and to make an end of sins, and to make atonement for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy.

³⁶ And the king shall do according to his will. And he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper until the fury is fulfilled. For that which is decreed shall be done.

²⁰ But God said to him, Fool! This night your soul shall be required of you, then whose shall be those things which you have prepared?

²⁶ And He has made all nations of men of one blood to dwell on all the face of the earth, ordaining fore-appointed seasons and boundaries of their dwelling,

²⁷ And as it is appointed to men once to die, but after this the judgment,

¹⁸ and the Living One, and I became dead, and behold, I am alive for ever and ever, Amen. And I have the keys of hell and of death.

⁷ And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: He who is holy, He who is true, He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts; and shuts and no one opens, says these things:

¹ Is there not a warfare to man on earth? Are not his days also like the days of a hireling? ² As a servant earnestly desires the shadow, and as a hireling looks for his wages,

¹⁶ I despise them; I will not live always; let me alone, for my days are vanity.

¹⁹ Until when will You look away from me, nor let me alone until I swallow down my spittle?

²⁰ Are not my days few? Cease then, and let me alone, that I may take comfort a little,

¹³ Look away from me, and I will smile before I go away and be no more.

¹ For the kingdom of Heaven is like a man, a housemaster, who went out early in the morning to hire laborers into his vineyard. ² And when he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard. ³ And he went out about the third hour and saw others standing idle in the marketplace. ⁴ And he said to them, You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you. And they went. ⁵ And he went out about the sixth and ninth hour and did likewise. ⁶ And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing idle, and said to them, Why do you stand here all day idle? ⁷ They said to him, Because no one has hired us. He said to them, You also go into the vineyard, and you shall receive whatever is right. ⁸ So when evening had come, the lord of the vineyard said to his steward, Call the laborers and pay them their wage, beginning from the last to the first.

¹⁰ He has broken me on every side, and I am gone, and He has uprooted my hope like a tree.

¹ And a Shoot goes out from the stump of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots.

⁶ He shall cause those who come from Jacob to take root; Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit.

¹⁵ But leave the stump of its roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and bronze, in the tender grass of the field. And let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let its portion be with the animals in the grass of the earth.

²³ And as the king saw a watcher and a holy one coming down from Heaven, and saying, Cut the tree down and destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots of it in the earth, even with a band of iron and bronze, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the animals of the field, until seven times pass over him; ²⁴ this is the meaning, O king, and this the decree of the Most High, which has come on my lord the king. ²⁵ They shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the animals of the field, and they shall make you eat grass like oxen. And they shall wet you with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He will.

¹⁹ Your dead ones shall live, together with my dead body they shall arise. Awake and sing, you who dwell in the dust; for your dew is as the dew of lights, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

²⁴ Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it abides alone; but if it dies, it brings forth much fruit.

³⁶ Foolish one! What you sow is not made alive unless it dies.

³ And say, So says the Lord Jehovah: A great eagle with great wings, long of pinion, full of feathers, who had different colors, came to Lebanon and took the highest branch of the cedar. ⁴ He plucked off the top of its young twigs and carried it into a land of traders. He set it in a city of merchants. ⁵ He also took of the seed of the land and planted it in a fruitful field. He placed it by great waters and set it as a willow tree. ⁶ And it grew and became a spreading low vine, whose branches turned toward him. And its roots were under him. So it became a vine and brought out branches and shot out boughs. ⁷ There was also another great eagle with great wings and many feathers. And behold, this vine bent its roots toward him and shot out its branches toward him, that he might water it, away from the beds of its planting. ⁸ It was planted in a good soil by great waters, that it might bring out branches, and that it might bear fruit, to be a splendid vine. ⁹ Say, So says the Lord Jehovah: Shall it prosper? Shall he not pull up its roots and cut off its fruit, and wither it? All the leaves of its sprouting shall wither, and not with great arm, nor by many people shall any raise it by its roots. ¹⁰ And behold, being planted, shall it prosper? Shall it not utterly wither when the east wind touches it? It shall wither in the beds where it sprouted.

²² So says the Lord Jehovah: I, even I, will also take of the top of the highest cedar and will set it; I will crop off from the first of its young twigs a tender one, and will plant it on a high and lofty mountain. ²³ In a mountain, in a high place of Israel, I will plant it. And it shall bear boughs, and bear fruit, and be a majestic cedar. And under it shall dwell every bird of every wing; in the shadow of its branches they shall dwell. ²⁴ And all the trees of the field shall know that I Jehovah have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish. I Jehovah have spoken and acted.

¹⁰ Your mother is like a vine in your blood, planted by the waters; she was fruitful and full of branches because of many waters.

¹⁷ And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and became a sharer of the root and the fatness of the olive tree with them, ¹⁸ do not boast against the branches. But if you boast, it is not you that bears the root, but the root bears you. ¹⁹ You will say then, The branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in. ²⁰ Well, because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be high-minded, but fear. ²¹ For if God did not spare the natural branches, fear lest He also may not spare you either! ²² Behold then the kindness, and the severity of God; on those having fallen, severity; but on you, kindness, if you continue in the kindness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. ²³ And those also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in. For God is able to graft them in again. ²⁴ For if you were cut out of the natural wild olive tree, and were grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree; how much more these being according to nature will be grafted into their own olive-tree?

³³ And Jacob finished commanding his sons, and he gathered his feet into the bed. And he expired, and was gathered to his people.

¹¹ Why did I not die from the womb, come from the womb and expire?

⁷ Remember that my life is a breath; my eye shall no more see good. ⁸ The eye of him who has seen me shall see me no more; Your eyes are on me, and I am gone. ⁹ As the cloud falls and vanishes away, so he who goes down to the grave shall come up no more. ¹⁰ He shall return no more to his house, nor shall his place know him any more.

¹⁸ Why then have You brought me from the womb? Oh that I had given up the spirit, and no eye had seen me!

²⁰ But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall have no escape, and their hope shall be like the giving up of the spirit.

¹² so man lies down and does not rise. Till the heavens are no more, they shall not awake, nor be awakened out of their sleep.

¹³ If I wait for the grave as my home, I have made my bed in the darkness; ¹⁴ I have said to corruption, You are my father; to the worm, My mother and my sister! ¹⁵ And where then is my hope? And as for my hope, who shall see it? ¹⁶ They shall go down to the bars of the pit, when our descent together is in the dust.

²⁶ and even after they corrupt my skin, yet this: in my flesh I shall see God,

³² The wicked is driven away in his wickedness, but the righteous has hope in his death.

⁵⁰ And crying again with a loud voice, Jesus released His spirit.

²² And it happened that the beggar died and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom. The rich one also died and was buried. ²³ And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

¹⁰ Then at once she fell down at his feet and expired. And the younger ones found her dead, and, carrying her out, buried her beside her husband.

¹⁵ My brothers have dealt deceitfully as a torrent; they pass away as the streams of torrents, ¹⁶ torrents black from ice, in which the snow hides itself. ¹⁷ When they become warm, they go away; when it is hot, they vanish out of their place. ¹⁸ The paths of their way are turned aside; they go to nothing and are lost.

⁵ And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall fail and dry up.

¹⁸ Why has my pain been without end, and why is my wound incurable, refusing to be healed? You surely are to me like a deceitful brook, waters that cannot be trusted.

¹³ For now I should have lain still and been quiet; I should have slept. Then I would have been at rest

²¹ And why do You not pardon my transgression, and take away my iniquity? For now I shall sleep in the dust, and You shall seek me in the morning, but I shall not be.

²¹ before I go, and I shall not return, even to the land of darkness and the shadow of death; ²² a land of obscurity, the darkness of the shadow of death, without any order, and the shining is as darkness.

²⁵ For I know that my Redeemer lives, and He shall rise on the earth at the last; ²⁶ and even after they corrupt my skin, yet this: in my flesh I shall see God, ²⁷ whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not a stranger's; though my heart be exhausted in my bosom.

²³ For I know that You will bring me to death, and to the house appointed for all living.

²⁶ They shall perish, but You shall endure; yea, all of them shall become old like a garment; like a robe You shall change them, and they shall be changed;

¹⁹ For that which happens to the sons of men also happens to beasts, even one thing happens to them. As this one dies, so that one dies; yea, they all have one breath; so that a man has no advantage over a beast; for all is vanity. ²⁰ All go to one place; all are of the dust, and all return to dust again. ²¹ Who knows the spirit of man that goes upward, and the spirit of the beast that goes downward?

⁵ also they are afraid of the high place, and terrors along the way, and the almond tree shall blossom, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail; because man goes to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets;

⁶ Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look on the earth beneath; for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall become old like a garment; and its inhabitants shall die in the same way. But My salvation shall be forever, and My righteousness shall not be broken.

¹⁷ For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth. And the things before will not be remembered, nor come to mind.

²² For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make stand before Me, says Jehovah, so will your seed and your name stand.

² And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

³⁵ The heaven and the earth shall pass away, but My Words shall not pass away.

¹¹ He said these things; and after that He said to them, Our friend Lazarus sleeps. But I go so that I may awaken him out of sleep. ¹² Then His disciples said, Lord, if he sleeps, he will get well. ¹³ But Jesus spoke of his death, but they thought that He had spoken of taking rest in sleep.

²¹ whom Heaven truly needs to receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of His holy prophets since the world began.

²⁰ For the creation was not willingly subjected to vanity, but because of Him who subjected it on hope

¹⁴ Therefore he says, "Awake, sleeping ones! And arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light."

¹⁴ For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will also bring with Him all those who have fallen asleep through Jesus. ¹⁵ For we say this to you by the Word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord shall not go before those who are asleep.

⁷ But the present heavens and the earth being kept in store by the same Word, are being kept for fire until the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

¹⁰ But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a rushing noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat. And the earth and the works in it will be burned up. ¹¹ Then, all these things being about to be dissolved, what sort ought you to be in holy behavior and godliness, ¹² looking for and rushing the coming of the Day of God, on account of which the heavens, being on fire, will melt away, and the elements will melt, burning with heat? ¹³ But according to His promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

¹¹ And I saw a great white throne, and Him sitting on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And a place was not found for them.

¹ And I saw a new heaven and a new earth. For the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. And the sea no longer is.

¹ And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle which were with him in the ark. And God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided.

¹⁷ There the wicked cease from troubling, and there the weary are at rest; ¹⁸ the prisoners are at rest together; they hear not the voice of the slave driver. ¹⁹ The small and the great are there, and the slave is free from his master.

⁴ Remember me, O Jehovah, with the favor of Your people; O visit me with Your salvation,

¹ And in that day you shall say, O Jehovah, I will praise You; though You were angry with me, turn away Your anger, and You shall comfort me.

²⁰ Come, my people, enter into your rooms and shut your doors around you; hide for a little moment, until the fury has passed by. ²¹ For behold, Jehovah comes out of His place to punish the people of the earth for their iniquity; the earth also shall reveal her blood, and shall no more cover her dead.

¹ The righteous one perishes, and no one lays it to heart, and merciful men are taken away; no one cares that the righteous is taken away from the face of evil. ² He shall enter into peace; they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.

³² But of that day and hour no one knows, no, not the angels in Heaven, nor the Son, but the Father.

⁴² And he said to Jesus, Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.

⁷ And He said to them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father has put in His own authority.

³¹ because He has appointed a day in which He is going to judge the world in righteousness by a Man whom He appointed, having given proof to all by raising Him from the dead.

¹⁵ Though he slay me, I will not wait, but I will maintain my own ways before Him.

⁵ For his days are fixed, the number of his months is with You, and You have set his bounds so that he cannot pass;

²⁵ For I know that my Redeemer lives, and He shall rise on the earth at the last; ²⁶ and even after they corrupt my skin, yet this: in my flesh I shall see God,

¹⁶ After this Job lived a hundred and forty years, and he saw his sons, and his sons' sons, four generations.

¹⁴ Hope in Jehovah; be of good courage, and He shall make your heart strong; yea, hope in Jehovah.

¹ To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for Jehovah; and He bowed down to me, and heard my cry. ² He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet on a rock, and gave sureness to my steps.

²⁵ Jehovah is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. ²⁶ It is good that one should hope for the salvation of Jehovah, even in silence.

¹ The hand of Jehovah was on me, and brought me by the Spirit of Jehovah, and made me rest in the midst of a valley, and it was full of bones. ² And He made me pass among them all around. And behold, very many were on the face of the valley. And lo, they were very dry. ³ And he said to me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord Jehovah, You know. ⁴ Again He said to me, Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the Word of Jehovah. ⁵ So says the Lord Jehovah to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. ⁶ And I will lay sinews on you, and will bring up flesh on you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live. And you shall know that I am Jehovah. ⁷ So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a noise. And behold, a shaking! And the bones came near, a bone to its bone. ⁸ And I watched. And behold! The sinews and the flesh came up on them, and the skin covered them above. But there was no breath in them. ⁹ And He said to me, Prophesy to the Spirit, prophesy, son of man, and say to the Spirit, So says the Lord Jehovah: Come from the four winds, O Spirit, and breathe on these dead ones so that they may live. ¹⁰ So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the Spirit came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army. ¹¹ And He said to me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, Our bones are dried and our hope is lost; we are cut off by ourselves. ¹² Therefore prophesy and say to them, So says the Lord Jehovah: Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up out of your graves, and will bring you into the land of Israel. ¹³ And you shall know that I am Jehovah when I have opened your graves, O My people, and have brought you up out of your graves. ¹⁴ And I shall put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. And you shall know that I Jehovah have spoken and have done it, says Jehovah.

²⁹ Jesus answered and said to them, You err, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God. ³⁰ For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in Heaven. ³¹ But regarding the resurrection of the dead, have you not read that which was spoken to you by God, saying, ³² "I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?" God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

²⁸ Do not marvel at this, for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves shall hear His voice, ²⁹ and shall come forth, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have practiced evil to the resurrection of condemnation.

⁸ Why is it thought a thing incredible with you that God raises the dead?

⁴² So also the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption; ⁴³ it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; ⁴⁴ it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

⁵¹ Behold, I speak a mystery to you; we shall not all fall asleep, but we shall all be changed; ⁵² in a moment, in a glance of an eye, at the last trumpet. For a trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall all be changed.

²¹ who shall change our body of humiliation so that it may be fashioned like His glorious body, according to the working of His power, even to subdue all things to Himself.

¹⁴ For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will also bring with Him all those who have fallen asleep through Jesus. ¹⁵ For we say this to you by the Word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord shall not go before those who are asleep. ¹⁶ For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ shall rise first.

⁷ Therefore be patient, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth and has long patience for it, until he receives the early and the latter rain. ⁸ You also be patient, establish your hearts, for the coming of your Lord draws near.

¹³ And the sea gave up the dead in it. And death and hell delivered up the dead in them. And each one of them was judged according to their works.

³ Is it good to You that You should press down, that You should despise the work of Your hands, and shine on the counsel of the wicked?

⁸ Your hands have made me and shaped me, together all around; yet You destroy me.

²² Then call, and I will answer; or let me speak, and answer You me.

⁴ He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, so that He may judge His people. ⁵ Gather My saints to Me; and those who cut My covenant by sacrifice.

⁸ Jehovah will perfect His work in me; Your mercy, O Jehovah, endures forever; do not forsake the work of Your own hands.

¹⁷ Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. And so we shall ever be with the Lord.

¹⁹ Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls in well-doing, as to a faithful Creator.

²⁸ And now, little children, abide in Him, so that when He is revealed, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him in His coming.

⁶ that You seek out my iniquity, and search for my sin?

¹⁴ If I sin, then You mark me, and You will not acquit me from my iniquity.

⁴ Does He not see my ways, and count all my steps?

¹¹ He puts my feet in the stocks; He marks all my paths.

²¹ For His eyes are on the ways of man, and He sees all his steps.

⁶ They stir up strife; they hide themselves; they watch my steps as they wait for my soul.

¹ To the Chief Musician, A Psalm of David. O Jehovah, You have searched me and have known me. ² You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. ³ You search my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. ⁴ For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Jehovah, You know it altogether.

²¹ For the ways of man are before the eyes of Jehovah, and He watches all his paths.

¹⁹ great in wisdom and mighty in work; for Your eyes are open on all the ways of the sons of men, to give every one according to his ways and according to the fruit of his doings.

³⁴ Is not this laid up in store with Me and sealed up among My treasures?

¹⁹ God lays up his iniquity for his children. He repays him, and he knows.

¹² The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; his sin hidden.

⁴ He tears himself in his anger; shall the earth be forsaken for you? And shall the rock be moved out of its place?

²⁵ Of old You have laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the work of Your hands. ²⁶ They shall perish, but You shall endure; yea, all of them shall become old like a garment; like a robe You shall change them, and they shall be changed;

¹² Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and measured out the heavens with a span? And who has shut up the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?

¹⁵ Behold, I make you a new sharp threshing instrument, a master of teeth; you shall thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shall make the hills like chaff. ¹⁶ You shall winnow them, and the wind shall carry them away, and a tempest shall scatter them. And you shall rejoice in Jehovah and shall glory in the Holy One of Israel.

¹⁰ For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall the covenant of My peace be removed, says Jehovah who has mercy on you.

¹ Oh that You would tear the heavens and come down, that mountains would quake before You,

²⁴ I looked on the mountains, and, lo, they quaked; and all the hills were shaken.

⁵¹ And, behold! The veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. And the earth quaked, and the rocks were sheared,

¹⁴ And the heaven departed like a scroll when it is rolled together. And every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

⁸ And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea. And the third part of the sea became blood.

¹⁷ And behold! I, even I, am bringing a flood of waters upon the earth in order to destroy all flesh (in which is the breath of life) from under the heavens. Everything which is in the earth shall die.

²¹ And all flesh that moved upon the face of the earth died, of birds, of cattle, of animal, and of every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth; and every man, ²² all who breathed the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died. ²³ And every living thing which was on the face of the earth was destroyed, from man to cattle, and to the creeping things, and the fowls of the heavens. And they were destroyed from the earth, and only Noah was left, and those that were with him in the ark.

⁸ For what is the hope of the ungodly when He cuts off, when God takes away his soul?

⁶ And in my blessedness I said, I shall never be moved. ⁷ O Jehovah, by Your favor You have made my mountain to stand strong; You hid Your face, and I was troubled.

¹¹ And He said to me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, Our bones are dried and our hope is lost; we are cut off by ourselves.

¹⁹ And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years. Take your ease, eat drink and be merry. ²⁰ But God said to him, Fool! This night your soul shall be required of you, then whose shall be those things which you have prepared?

¹² And when they lifted up their eyes afar off, and did not know him, they lifted up their voice and wept. And each one tore his robe, and they sprinkled dust upon their heads toward Heaven.

⁸ There is no man who has power over the spirit to keep the spirit; nor power in the day of death; and there is no discharge in that war; nor shall wickedness deliver its owners.

⁸ Their appearance is blacker than soot; they are not recognized in the streets; their skin has shriveled on their bones; it is dried up; it has become like wood.

²⁰ And about the time of her death the women that stood by her said to her, Do not fear, for you have borne a son. But she did not answer, nor set her heart.

⁶ Surely a man walks about like a shadow! Surely they are in an uproar in vain. He heaps up, and does not know who shall gather them.

¹⁸ Yes, I hated all my labor which I had done under the sun; that I must leave it to the man who shall be after me. ¹⁹ And who knows whether he shall be wise or a fool? Yet he shall have rule over all my labor in which I have labored, and acted wisely under the sun. This is also vanity.

⁵ For the living know that they shall die; but the dead do not know anything, nor do they have any more a reward; for their memory is forgotten.

⁷ And of your sons which shall issue from you, which you shall bring out, they shall take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon. ⁸ Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, Good is the Word of Jehovah which you have spoken. And he said, For there shall be peace and truth in my days.

¹⁶ For You are our Father, though Abraham does not know us, and Israel does not acknowledge us. You, O Jehovah, are our Father, our Redeemer; Your name is from everlasting.

²⁰ My bone clings to my skin and to my flesh, and I have escaped with the skin of my teeth.

²² Why do you, like God, persecute me and are not satisfied with my flesh?

¹⁹ He is also chastened with pain on his bed, and enduring strife in his bones; ²⁰ so that his life is sick of bread, and his soul desirable food. ²¹ His flesh wastes away, not seen; and his bones laid bare; they were not seen.

²³ And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. ²⁴ And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am tormented in this flame.
