³ Make the weak hands strong and make the feeble knees sure. ⁴ Say to those of a hasty heart, Be strong, fear not; behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the full dealing of God. He will come and save you.

⁹ Woe to him who fights with the One who formed him, a potsherd among the potsherds of the earth! Shall the clay say to its former, What are you making? Or your work, He has no hands?

⁴ The Lord Jehovah has given Me the tongue of the learned, to know to help the weary with a word. He wakens morning by morning, He wakens the ear to hear as the learned.

⁶ I gave My back to the strikers, and My cheeks to pluckers; I did not hide My face from shame and spitting.

¹⁴ Just as many were astonished at You (so much was the disfigurement from man, His appearance and His form from the sons of mankind);

⁹ Then you shall call, and Jehovah shall answer; you shall cry, and He shall say, Here I am. If you take the yoke away from among you, the pointing of the finger, and speaking vanity; ¹⁰ and if you draw out your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall your light rise in darkness, and your darkness shall be as the noonday.

⁶ Their webs shall not become clothing, nor shall they cover themselves with their works; their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands.

¹⁶ to make their land desolate and a hissing forever. Everyone who passes by will be amazed, and will wag his head.

²⁹ O earth, earth, earth! Hear the Word of Jehovah!

¹⁶ For these I weep; my eye, my eye runs down with water, because the comforter who could refresh my soul is far from me. My sons are desolated because the enemy prevails.

¹¹ My eyes fail with tears; my inward parts ferment; my liver is poured on the ground for the ruin of the daughter of my people, in that the children and the babies faint in the streets of the city.

¹⁵ All who pass by clap their hands at you; they hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, Is this the city which they called the perfection of beauty, the joy of the whole earth? ¹⁶ All your enemies have opened their mouth against you; they hiss and gnash the teeth; they say, We have swallowed her up. Certainly this is the day that we looked for; we have found, we have seen.

³ Surely He turned against me; He turns His hand all the day. ⁴ He has wasted my flesh and my skin; He has broken my bones.

¹⁰ He was a bear lying in wait for me, a lion in secret places. ¹¹ He has turned my ways aside and torn me in pieces. He made me desolate. ¹² He has bent His bow and set me as a mark for the arrow. ¹³ He has caused the arrows of His quiver to enter into my inward parts.

³⁰ He gives his cheek to Him who strikes him; he is filled with reproach.

¹¹ Therefore, as I live, says the Lord Jehovah, surely, because you have defiled My sanctuary with all your detestable things, and with all your abominations, therefore I will also withdraw; nor shall My eye spare you, nor will I have any pity.

⁷ For her blood is in her midst; she set it on the top of a rock. She did not pour it on the ground, to cover it with dust,

⁷ When they took you by your hand, you broke and tore off all their shoulder. And when they leaned on you, you shattered and made all their loins stand.

¹⁴ For I will be to Ephraim as a lion, and as a strong lion to the house of Judah. I, even I, will tear and go away. I will take away, and none shall rescue him.

¹ Come and let us return to Jehovah. For He has torn, and He will heal us; He has stricken, and He will bind us up.

⁴ Yes, he wept and cried to Him, and he had power over the Angel and overcame. He found him in Bethel, and there He spoke with us, ⁵ even Jehovah, the God of Hosts. Jehovah is His memorial.

⁷ They shall run like mighty ones. They shall climb the wall like men of war, and they shall march each one on his way, and they shall not break their ranks.

¹ And Jonah prayed to Jehovah his God out of the fish's belly, ² and he said, I cried to Jehovah from my distress. And He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried for help, and You heard my voice. ³ For You cast me into the depths of the seas, and the current surrounded me. All Your breakers and Your waves passed over me. ⁴ Then I said, I am cast off from Your eyes, yet I will look again toward Your holy temple. ⁵ Waters encompassed me, even to the soul; the depth closed around me; the seaweed was bound to my head. ⁶ I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was around me forever; yet You have brought up my life from the pit, O Jehovah my God. ⁷ When my soul fainted within me, I remembered Jehovah; and my prayer came in to You, into Your holy temple. ⁸ They who take heed to lying vanities forsake their kindness; ⁹ but I will sacrifice to You with the voice of thanksgiving; I will fulfill that which I have vowed. Salvation belongs to Jehovah! ¹⁰ And Jehovah spoke to the fish, and it vomited Jonah out on the dry land.

⁸ But let man and animal be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily to God. And let them each one turn from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.

¹ Now gather yourself in troops, daughter of a troop; one sets a siege against us; they shall strike the Judge of Israel with a rod on the cheek.

¹³ Therefore I also have made you sick by striking you, laying you waste because of your sins.

⁸ Rejoice not against me, my enemy; for if I fall, I shall arise; for if I sit in darkness, Jehovah shall be a light to me.

¹⁵ This is the rejoicing city, dwelling confidently, who says in her heart, I am, and no other still is. How she has become a ruin, a resting-place for animals! Everyone who passes by her shall hiss; he shall wag his hand.

¹² Therefore all things, whatever you desire that men should do to you, do even so to them; for this is the Law and the Prophets.

⁴⁴ And he who falls on this Stone shall be broken, but on whomever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

⁴⁶ And no one was able to answer Him a word, nor did anyone dare from that day to question Him any more.

⁶⁷ Then they spat in His face and beat Him with the fist. And others struck Him with the palms of their hands,

³⁹ And those who passed by blasphemed Him, shaking their heads, ⁴⁰ and saying, You destroying the temple and building it in three days, save yourself. If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross.

³⁴ And He said to them, My soul is exceedingly sorrowful to death. Stay here and watch.

¹¹ And they were filled with madness, and talked with one another as to what they might do to Jesus. ¹² And it happened in those days that He went out into a mountain to pray, and He was spending the night in prayer to God.

³⁵ And the people stood watching. And also the rulers with them, scoffing, saying, He saved others, let Him save Himself, if He is the Christ, the chosen of God. ³⁶ And coming near, the soldiers also mocked Him, and offering Him sour wine,

²² And when He had spoken this way, one of the officers who stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Do you answer the high priest so?

¹⁶ Then he delivered Him up to them that He might be crucified. And they took Jesus and led Him away.

²⁷ For truly, against Your holy child Jesus, whom You have anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the nations, and the people of Israel, were gathered together

⁵⁴ And hearing these things, they were cut to their hearts. And they gnashed on him with their teeth.

² And the high priest Ananias commanded those who stood by him to strike him on the mouth.

⁹ For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of His Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you

³² Truly He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

¹ I tell the truth in Christ, I do not lie, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Spirit,

²⁰ No, but, O man, who are you who replies against God? Shall the thing formed say to Him who formed it, Why have you made me this way?

³² For God has shut up all in unbelief, so that He might show mercy to all.

¹⁵ Rejoice with rejoicing ones, and weep with weeping ones;

⁴ who have laid down their own necks for my life; to whom not only I give thanks, but also the churches of the nations.

²⁶ And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is glorified, all the members rejoice with it.

²³ And I call God as witness to my soul that in order to spare you I have not yet come to Corinth.

²⁰ For you endure if anyone enslaves you, if anyone devours, if anyone takes from you, if anyone exalts himself, if anyone strikes you in the face.

³¹ The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is blessed forever, knows that I do not lie.

⁷ and by the surpassing revelations, lest I be made haughty, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be made haughty.

¹ Brothers, if a man is overtaken in a fault, you the spiritual ones restore such a one in the spirit of meekness, considering yourself, lest you also be tempted.

²⁷ that He might present it to Himself as the glorious church, without spot or wrinkle or any such things, but that it should be holy and without blemish.

¹⁶ Those, indeed, preach Christ out of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds.

⁵ For neither at any time did we use flattering words, as you know, nor with pretense of covetousness; God is witness.

¹⁰ You and God are witnesses how holily and justly and blamelessly we were to you who believe,

⁸ Therefore, I desire that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

¹¹ whose mouth you must stop, who subvert whole houses, teaching things not right for the sake of ill gain.

⁸ in sound speech that cannot be condemned, that he who is opposed may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

⁷ For Jesus, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications with strong cryings and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard in that He feared,

¹⁹ Therefore, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.

³ You ask and receive not, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it upon your lusts. ⁴ Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever desires to be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

⁵ And He did not spare the old world, but saved Noah the eighth one, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly.
