¹⁶ Behold, their good is not in their hand; the wisdom of the wicked is far from me.

⁶ Oh my soul, do not come into their secret. Let not my honor be united with their assembly. For in their anger they killed a man, and in their self-will they hamstrung a bull.

²¹ And he said, I came naked out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return there. Jehovah gave, and Jehovah has taken away. Blessed be the name of Jehovah.

⁹ who of all these does not know that the hand of Jehovah has done this? ¹⁰ In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all flesh, even of man?

¹⁸ Yet He filled their houses with substance; and the wisdom of the wicked is far from me.

¹ Blessed is the man who has not walked in the counsel of the ungodly, and has not stood in the way of sinners, and has not sat in the seat of the scornful.

⁶ Those who trust in their wealth, and their many riches, boast themselves. ⁷ A man cannot at all redeem a brother, nor give to God a ransom for him,

⁵ God will likewise destroy you forever; He shall take you away, and pluck you out of your tent, and root you out of the land of the living. Selah. ⁶ And the righteous shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him, saying, ⁷ Behold, the man who did not make God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, he was strong in his wickedness.

¹⁰ My son, if sinners lure you, do not be willing.

⁸ Remove your ways far from her, and do not come near the door of her house,

⁸ There is no man who has power over the spirit to keep the spirit; nor power in the day of death; and there is no discharge in that war; nor shall wickedness deliver its owners.

² And he called him and said to him, What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your stewardship, for you may no longer be steward.
