⁴ As for me, is my complaint to man? And why should my spirit not be troubled?

⁹ And Moses said so to the sons of Israel. But they did not listen to Moses through anguish of spirit and through cruel bondage.

¹⁶ Do not count your handmaid for a daughter of wickedness, for out of the abundance of my meditation and grief I have spoken until now.

²⁶ And as the king of Israel was passing by on the wall, a woman cried to him, saying, Help, my lord, O king! ²⁷ And he said, if Jehovah does not help you, from where shall I help you? Out of the barn-floor, or out of the winepress?

¹¹ What is my strength, that I should hope? And what is my end, that I should be patient?

¹¹ Therefore I will not hold my mouth; I will speak in the trouble of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul. ¹² Am I like the sea, or a whale, that You set a watch over me? ¹³ When I say, My bed shall comfort me, my couch shall ease my complaint, ¹⁴ then You scare me with dreams, and terrify me with visions; ¹⁵ so that my soul chooses strangling, death rather than my life. ¹⁶ I despise them; I will not live always; let me alone, for my days are vanity. ¹⁷ What is man, that You should magnify him, and that You should set Your heart on him, ¹⁸ and visit him every morning, trying him every moment? ¹⁹ Until when will You look away from me, nor let me alone until I swallow down my spittle? ²⁰ I have sinned. What shall I do to You, O Watcher of men? Why have You set me as a target for You, so that I am a burden to myself? ²¹ And why do You not pardon my transgression, and take away my iniquity? For now I shall sleep in the dust, and You shall seek me in the morning, but I shall not be.

¹ My soul is weary of my life; I will leave my complaint on my self; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul. ² I will say to God, Do not condemn me; make me know why You contend with me.

¹ To the Chief Musician, on the deer of the dawn. A Psalm of David. My God, my God, why have You forsaken me, and are far from my deliverance, and from the words of my groaning? ² O my God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not answer; and in the night, and am not silent. ³ But You are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.

¹¹ Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why do you moan within me? Hope in God; for I still praise Him, the salvation of my face, and my God.

³ I remembered God, and was troubled; I complained, and my spirit fainted. Selah. ⁴ You keep my eyes awake; I am troubled and I cannot speak. ⁵ I have thought on the days of old, the years of ages past. ⁶ I remember my song in the night; I speak with my own heart, and my spirit carefully searches. ⁷ Will the Lord cast off forever? And will He be favorable no more? ⁸ Is His mercy gone forever? Has His Word failed for all generations? ⁹ Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has He in anger shut up His tender mercies? Selah.

¹ A prayer of the afflicted, when he is overwhelmed and pours out his complaint before Jehovah. Hear my prayer, O Jehovah, and let my cry come to You.

² I poured out my prayer before Him; I declared my trouble before Him. ³ When my spirit fainted within me, then You knew my path. In the way in which I walked they have secretly laid a snare for me.

³⁸ Then He said to them, My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Wait here and watch with Me.
