²⁰ But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,

¹⁰ And I will pour on the house of David, and on the people of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of prayers. And they shall look on Me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourns for his only son, and shall be bitter over Him, as the bitterness over the first-born.

³¹ Then, indeed, the churches had rest throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria, and having been built up. And having gone on in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were increased.

⁹ And He put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

¹⁸ in order to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light, and from the authority of Satan to God, so that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.

¹⁵ For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption by which we cry, Abba, Father!

²⁶ Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. ²⁷ And He searching the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

² Let every one of us please his neighbor for his good, to building up.

⁸ He shall also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

²³ All things are lawful to me, but not all things profit. All things are lawful to me, but not all things build up.

⁴ The one speaking in a tongue builds himself up, but he prophesying builds up a church. ⁵ I wish all of you to speak in languages, but rather that you may prophesy; for greater is he prophesying than he speaking in tongues, unless he interpret so that the church may receive building up.

¹⁵ What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the mind; I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the mind.

²⁶ Then how is it, brothers? When you come together, each one of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be for building up.

⁶ And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

¹² for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.

¹⁶ from whom the whole body, fitted together and compacted by that which every joint supplies, according to the effectual working in the measure of each part, producing the growth of the body to the edifying of itself in love.

²⁹ Let not any filthy word go out of your mouth, but if any is good to building up in respect of need, that it may give grace to the ones hearing.

¹⁸ praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching to this very thing with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.

⁷ rooted and built up in Him, and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

¹¹ Therefore comfort one another, and edify one another, even as you also do.

⁴ nor to give heed to fables and endless genealogies (which provide doubts rather than the nurture of God in faith). ⁵ taking recollection of the unfeigned faith that is in you, which first dwelt in your grandmother Lois, and in your mother Eunice. And I am persuaded that it is in you also.
