¹⁵ And they turned aside there, to go in and to lodge in Gibeah. And he went in and sat down in a street of the city. For no man took them into his house to stay the night.

² And he lifted up his eyes and looked, and lo, three men stood by him. And when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed toward the ground. ³ And he said, My Lord, if now I have found favor in Your sight, do not pass away, I pray, from Your servant. ⁴ Let a little water, I pray, be brought, and wash Your feet, and rest under the tree. ⁵ And I will bring a bite of bread, and will comfort your hearts. After that You shall pass on. For this is why You have come to Your servant. And they said, Do so, as you have said. ⁶ And Abraham hastened into the tent to Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal; knead it, and make cakes. ⁷ And Abraham ran out to the herd and brought a calf, tender and good. And he gave it to a young man. And he hurried to dress it. ⁸ And he took butter and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them. And he stood by them under the tree, and they ate.

² and said, Behold now, my lords, please turn into your servant's house and stay all night, and wash your feet, and you shall rise up early and go your way. And they said, No, but we will stay in the street. ³ But he urgently pressed on them, and they turned in to him and entered into his house. And he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.

¹⁸ And he said to him, We are passing from Bethlehem-judah to the side of mount Ephraim. I am from there, and I went to Bethlehem-judah, but I am going to the house of Jehovah. And there is no man who receives me into his house.

³⁵ For I was hungry, and you gave me food; I was thirsty, and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger, and you took Me in;

⁴³ I was a stranger and you did not take Me in; I was naked, and you did not clothe Me; I was sick, and in prison, and you did not visit me.

² Do not be forgetful of hospitality, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.
