¹³ These are the Waters of Strife, because the sons of Israel fought with Jehovah, and He showed Himself holy among them.

⁷ And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the wrangling of the sons of Israel, and because they tempted Jehovah, saying, Is Jehovah among us or not?

⁵¹ because you sinned against Me among the sons of Israel at the Waters of Strife in Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin, because you did not sanctify Me in the midst of the sons of Israel.

⁸ harden not your heart, as in the day of strife, as in the day of testing in the wilderness;

³² And they angered Him at the waters of strife so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes; ³³ because they provoked his spirit so that he spoke rashly with his lips. ³⁴ They did not destroy the nations as Jehovah commanded them; ³⁵ but were mixed among the nations, and learned their works. ³⁶ And they served their idols, which were a snare to them. ³⁷ Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons, ³⁸ and shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan; and the land was defiled with blood. ³⁹ And they were defiled with their works, and went lusting in their doings. ⁴⁰ And the wrath of Jehovah was kindled against His people, and He detested His inheritance. ⁴¹ And He gave them into the hand of the nations; and those who hated them ruled over them. ⁴² And their enemies oppressed them, and they were humbled under their hand. ⁴³ Many times He delivered them, but they rebelled in their counsel and sank in their iniquities. ⁴⁴ And He looked on their affliction when He heard their cry; ⁴⁵ and He remembered His covenant for them, and was moved to pity, according to the multitude of His mercies. ⁴⁶ And He gave them to tender mercies before the face of all their captors. ⁴⁷ Save us, O Jehovah our God, and gather us from among the nations, to give thanks to Your holy name and to triumph in Your praise. ⁴⁸ Blessed is Jehovah, the God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting; and let all the people say, Amen. Praise Jehovah!

¹⁶ But Jehovah of Hosts is exalted in judgment, and God the Holy One is sanctified in righteousness.

⁴¹ I will receive you with your sweet aroma when I bring you out from the people and gather you out of the lands into which you have been scattered among them. And I will be sanctified in you in the eyes of the nations.

²³ And I will sanctify My great name, which was profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst. And the nations shall know that I am Jehovah, says the Lord Jehovah, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

¹⁶ And you shall come up on My people Israel like a cloud, to cover the land. It shall be in the last days, and I will bring you against My land, so that the nations may know Me when I shall be sanctified in you, O Gog, before their eyes.
