²⁵ Of old You have laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the work of Your hands.

¹ In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

¹ And the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

¹¹ For in six days Jehovah made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore Jehovah blessed the Sabbath day, and sanctified it.

⁴ Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell if you have understanding! ⁵ Who has set its measurements, for you know? Or who has stretched the line on it? ⁶ On what are its bases sunk, or who cast its cornerstone, ⁷ when the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

⁵ For all the gods of the nations are idols; but Jehovah made the heavens.

²³ I was anointed from everlasting, from the beginning, before the earth ever was. ²⁴ When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no springs heavy with water. ²⁵ Before the mountains were settled, before the hills, I was brought forth. ²⁶ before He had made the earth, or the fields or the highest part of the dust of the world. ²⁷ When He prepared the heavens, I was there; when He set a circle upon the face of the deep; ²⁸ when He set the clouds above; when He made the strong fountains of the deep; ²⁹ when He gave to the sea its limit that the waters should not pass His command; when He appointed the foundations of the earth; ³⁰ even I was a workman at His side; and I was daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him; ³¹ rejoicing in the world, His earth; and my delight was with the sons of men. ³² And now listen to me, O sons; for blessed are those who keep my ways. ³³ Hear instruction, and be wise, and do not refuse it. ³⁴ Blessed is the man who hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. ³⁵ For whoever finds me finds life, and shall obtain favor from Jehovah. ³⁶ But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; all who hate me love death.

¹⁷ Ah, Lord Jehovah! You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and stretched out arm. Nothing is too great for You.

¹⁰ And, "You, Lord, have laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the works of Your hands. ¹¹ They shall perish, but You will remain. And they shall all become old as a garment, ¹² and as a covering You shall fold them up, and they shall be changed. But You are the same, and Your years shall not fail."

³ For He was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, because he who has built the house has more honor than the house. ⁴ For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God.
