¹⁴ Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink; let me be delivered from those who hate me, and out of the deep waters.

¹⁸ Look on my affliction and my pain, and forgive all my sins. ¹⁹ Look on my enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.

¹⁹ Let not those who are my lying enemies rejoice over me, those who hate me without cause wink with the eye.

¹ To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for Jehovah; and He bowed down to me, and heard my cry. ² He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet on a rock, and gave sureness to my steps. ³ And He has put a new song in my mouth, praise to our God; many shall see it and fear, and shall trust in Jehovah.

² My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; when shall I come and appear before God?

⁷ Deep calls to deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; all Your waves and Your billows have gone over me.

¹ To the Chief Musician. Concerning the Lilies. A Psalm of David. Save me, O God! for the waters have come in on my soul. ² I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing; I have come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.

¹⁵ Do not let the flood of waters overflow me, nor let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut its mouth on me.

³ And they surrounded me with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause.

²¹ But You, Lord Jehovah, deal kindly with me for Your name's sake; because Your mercy is good, deliver me.

⁴ then the waters would have flowed over us, the stream would have gone over our soul; ⁵ then the proud waters would have gone over our soul.

⁷ Send Your hand from above; rescue me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of a foreigner's sons;

⁶ And they took Jeremiah and threw him into the pit of Malchiah the son of Hammelech, which was in the court of the prison. And they let Jeremiah down with ropes. And there was no water in the pit, only mud. So Jeremiah sank into the mud. ⁷ And Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, of the eunuchs in the king's house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the pit (the king then sitting in the gate of Benjamin), ⁸ Ebed-melech went out of the king's house and spoke to the king, saying, ⁹ My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have thrown into the pit. And he is likely to die of hunger in the place where he is, for there is no more bread in the city. ¹⁰ Then the king commanded Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, saying, Take in your hand thirty men with you from here, and lift Jeremiah the prophet up out of the pit before he dies. ¹¹ So Ebed-melech took the men in his hand and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took worn out clothes and worn out rags from there, and let them down by ropes into the pit to Jeremiah. ¹² And Ebed-melech, the Ethiopian said to Jeremiah, Now put the worn out clothes and rags under your armpits, under the ropes. And Jeremiah did so. ¹³ So they drew up Jeremiah with ropes and took him up out of the pit. And Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.

⁵⁵ I called on Your name, O Jehovah, out of the lowest pit.

³⁴ And He said to them, My soul is exceedingly sorrowful to death. Stay here and watch. ³⁵ And He went forward a little and fell on the ground. And He prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from Him. ³⁶ And He said, Abba, Father, all things are possible to You. Take away this cup from Me. Yet not what I will, but what You will. ³⁷ And He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, Simon, do you sleep? Could you not watch one hour? ³⁸ Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. Truly the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. ³⁹ And again He went away and prayed and spoke the same words. ⁴⁰ And when He returned, He found them asleep again (for their eyes were heavy), neither did they know what to answer Him. ⁴¹ And He came the third time and said to them, Sleep on now and take your rest. It is enough, the hour has come. Behold, the Son of Man has been betrayed into the hands of sinners. ⁴² Rise up, let us go. Lo, he who betrays Me is at hand.

³⁴ And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? (which being translated is, My God, My God, why did You forsake Me?)

¹⁴ But his citizens hated him. And they sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this one to reign over us.

²⁷ But those who are my enemies, who did not desire that I should reign over them, bring them here and slay them before me.

³⁰ The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you killed and hanged on a tree. ³¹ This One God has exalted to be a Ruler and Savior to His right hand in order to give repentance and remission of sins to Israel.
