⁴ These are those who were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are those who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from among men, as a firstfruit to God and to the Lamb.

¹⁴ She shall be brought to the king in clothing of needlework; the virgins, her companions after her, shall be brought to You.

² Remember Your congregation, which You have purchased of old, the rod of Your inheritance which You have redeemed; this mount Zion in which You have dwelt.

³ For Your ointments have a lovely fragrance; Your name is as oil poured out; therefore the virgins love You.

⁸ There are sixty queens, and eighty concubines, and virgins without number.

³ Israel was holiness to Jehovah, and the firstfruits of His increase. All that devour him shall offend; evil shall come on them, says Jehovah.

¹ Woe to those at ease in Zion, and those trusting in the mountain of Samaria, who are noted as leader of the nations. And the house of Israel came to them.

¹² Then Jesus spoke again to them, saying, I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

²⁷ My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

²⁶ If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there also My servant shall be. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.

³⁷ Peter said to Him, Lord, why cannot I follow You now? I will lay down my life for Your sake.

²⁸ Therefore take heed to yourselves, and to all the flock in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to feed the church of God which He has purchased with His own blood.

²⁰ for you are bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.

²⁵ But concerning virgins, I have no commandment from the Lord. Yet I give my judgment, as one who has obtained mercy from the Lord to be faithful. ²⁶ Then I think this is good, because of the present necessity; that it is good for a man to be so.

²⁸ But if you do marry, you did not sin; and if a virgin marries, she has not sinned. But such shall have trouble in the flesh, but I spare you.

¹⁵ But I exhort you, brothers. You know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruit of Achaia, and they appointed themselves to ministry to the saints.

² For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy. For I have espoused you to one Man, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ.

¹⁴ who is the earnest of our inheritance, to the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

³ forbidding to marry, saying to abstain from foods which God has created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

¹⁸ Of His own will He brought us forth with the Word of truth, for us to be a certain firstfruit of His creatures.

⁹ But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for possession, so that you might speak of the praises of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

⁴ You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments. And they will walk with Me in white, for they are worthy.

⁹ And they sang a new song, saying, You are worthy to take the book and to open its seals, for You were slain and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every kindred and tongue and people and nation.

¹⁵ Therefore they are before the throne of God, and they serve Him day and night in His temple. And He sitting on the throne will dwell among them. ¹⁶ They will not hunger any more, nor thirst any more, nor will the sun light on them, nor any heat. ¹⁷ For the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will feed them and will lead them to the fountains of living waters. And God will wipe away all tears from their eyes.

¹⁴ These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them. For He is Lord of lords and King of kings. And those with Him are the called and elect and faithful ones.
