¹⁷ And I exhort you, brothers, to watch those making divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which you have learned, and avoid them.

⁷ Woe to the world because of offenses! For it is necessary that offenses come; but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!

¹⁷ And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he neglects to hear the church, let him be to you as a heathen and a tax-collector.

¹ And He said to the disciples, It is impossible but that offenses will come. But woe to him through whom they come!

¹ And certain ones who came down from Judea taught the brothers, saying, Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved. ² Therefore dissension and not a little disputation occurring by Paul and Barnabas, they appointed Paul and Barnabas and certain others of them to go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and elders about this question. ³ And indeed being set forward by the church, they passed through Phoenicia and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the nations. And they caused great joy to all the brothers. ⁴ And arriving in Jerusalem, they were received by the church, and by the apostles and elders. And they declared all things that God had done with them. ⁵ But some of those from the sect of the Pharisees, having believed, rose up, saying, It was necessary to circumcise them and to command them to keep the Law of Moses.

²⁴ Because we have heard that certain ones who went out from us have troubled you with words, unsettling your souls, saying, Be circumcised and keep the law! (to whom we gave no such command);

¹⁰ But I exhort you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing and that there be no divisions among you; but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. ¹¹ For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brothers, by those of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. ¹² But I say this, that every one of you says, I am of Paul, and I of Apollos, and I of Cephas, and I of Christ. ¹³ Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you, or were you baptized in the name of Paul?

³ For you are yet carnal. For in that there is among you envyings and strife and divisions, are you not carnal, and do you not walk according to men?

⁹ I wrote to you in the letter not to associate intimately with fornicators; ¹⁰ yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then you must go out of the world. ¹¹ But now I have written to you not to associate intimately, if any man called a brother and is either a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such a one not to eat.

¹⁸ For first of all, when you come together in the church, I hear that there are divisions among you, and I partly believe it.

⁷ which is not another, but some are troubling you, and desiring to pervert the gospel of Christ. ⁸ But even if we or an angel from Heaven preach a gospel to you beside what we preached to you, let him be accursed. ⁹ As we said before, and now I say again, If anyone preaches a gospel to you beside what you have received, let him be accursed.

⁴ But because of those false brothers stealing in, who stole in to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus; they desiring to enslave us;

² Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision party. ³ For we are the circumcision who worship God in the spirit and rejoice in Christ Jesus and have no confidence in the flesh;

¹⁷ Brothers, be imitators together of me, and mark those who walk this way, for you have us for a pattern.

⁸ Beware lest anyone rob you through philosophy and vain deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the elements of the world, and not according to Christ.

⁶ Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw yourselves from every brother who walks disorderly, and not after the teaching which he received from us.

¹⁴ And if anyone does not obey our word by this letter, mark that one and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. ¹⁵ Yet do not count him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

³ Even as I begged you to remain at Ephesus, when I was going to Macedonia, that you might charge some that they teach no other doctrine,

³ If anyone teaches otherwise, and does not consent to wholesome words (those of our Lord Jesus Christ), and to the doctrine according to godliness, ⁴ he is proud, knowing nothing. He is sick concerning doubts and arguments, from which comes envy, strife, evil speakings, evil suspicions, ⁵ meddling, of men whose minds have been corrupted and deprived of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness. Withdraw from such.

⁵ having a form of godliness, but denying the power of it; even turn away from these.

¹⁰ After the first and second warning, reject a man of heresy,

¹ But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who secretly will bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing on themselves swift destruction. ² And many will follow their pernicious ways, and because of them the way of truth will be evil spoken of.

¹⁹ They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they were of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out so that it might be revealed that they were not all of us.

⁷ For many deceivers have entered into the world, who do not confess Jesus Christ coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the anti-christ. ⁸ Look to yourselves, so that we may not lose those things which we worked out, but that we may receive a full reward. ⁹ Everyone transgressing and not abiding in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ, he has both the Father and the Son. ¹⁰ If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house, nor speak a greeting to him. ¹¹ For he who speaks a greeting to him is partaker of his evil deeds.

¹⁹ These are those setting themselves apart, animal-like ones, not having the Spirit.
