³⁰ But David could not go before it to inquire of God, for he was afraid because of the sword of the messenger of Jehovah.

¹² And now, Israel, what does Jehovah your God require of you, but to fear Jehovah your God, to walk in all his ways and to love him and to serve Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul,

⁹ And David was afraid of Jehovah that day and he said, How will the ark of Jehovah come to me?

¹² And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me?

¹⁶ And David lifted up his eyes and saw the messenger of Jehovah standing between earth and heaven, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell upon their faces.

²¹ Withdraw your hand far from me and do not let your dread make me afraid.

⁶ Even when I remember, I am troubled and horror takes hold on my flesh.

¹⁵ Therefore I am terrified at his presence. When I consider, I am afraid of him.

¹¹ Who knows the power of your anger and your wrath according to the fear that is due to you?

¹²⁰ My flesh trembles for fear of you and I am afraid of your judgments.

²² Do you* not fear me? says Jehovah. Will you* not tremble at my presence, who have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a everlasting decree, that it cannot pass it? And though the waves of it toss themselves, yet they cannot prevail, though they roar, yet they cannot pass over it.

⁷ Who should not fear you, O King of the nations? For to you it is befitting, inasmuch as among all the wise men of the nations and in all their royal estate, there is none like you.

²⁸ Hence, receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us have gratitude, through which we give-divine service in ways well pleasing to God, with reverence and piety; ²⁹ for our God is also a consuming fire.

¹⁷ And when I saw him, I fell like one dead at his feet. And he placed his right hand upon me, saying, Do not fear; I am the first and the last,

⁴ Who should never fear you, Lord, and should glorify your name? Because only you are holy, because all the nations will be coming and will be worshiping in your sight, because your righteousnesses were manifested.
