²⁴ Because, ‘All flesh is like grass and all the glory of man is like the flower of grass. The grass dried up and the its flower fell away.

²⁶ Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded. They were as the grass of the field and as the green herb, as the grass on the housetops and as grain blasted before it is grown up.

² Because they will soon be cut down like the grass and wither as the green herb.

⁵ You carry them away as with a flood. They are as a sleep. They are like grass which grows up in the morning.

⁷ When the wicked spring up like the grass and when all the workers of unrighteousness flourish, it is that they will be destroyed forever,

⁴ My heart is struck like grass and withered, because I forget to eat my bread.

¹⁵ As for man, his days are as grass, as a flower of the field, so he flourishes.

⁶ Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withers before it grows up,

⁶ The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass and all the goodness of it is as the flower of the field. ⁷ The grass withers, the flower fades, because the breath of Jehovah blows upon it. Surely the people is grass. ⁸ The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand everlasting.

¹⁰ but the rich brother in his humbleness, because like the flower of the grass, he will be passing away. ¹¹ For the sun has risen together with the burning heat, and dried up the grass, and its flower fell and the beauty of its face perished. So shall the rich man also fade away in his pursuits.

¹⁴ You do not know what the next-day will bring, for what is your life? For it will be a vapor, which appears for a few but thereafter also disappears.

¹⁷ And the world is passing away and its lust, but he who is practicing the will of God abides forever.
