¹⁸ And he said, Why does my lord pursue after his servant? For what have I done? Or what evil is in my hand?

²⁹ And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause?

⁹ And David said to Saul, Why do you listen to men's words, saying, Behold, David seeks your hurt?

¹¹ Moreover, my father, see, yes, see the skirt of your robe in my hand, for in that I cut off the skirt of your robe and killed you not. Know and see that there is neither evil nor transgression in my hand and I have not sinned against you, though you hunt after my life to take it.
¹² Jehovah judge between me and you and Jehovah avenge me of you, but my hand will not be upon you. ¹³ As says the proverb of the ancients, Out of the wicked comes forth wickedness, but my hand will not be upon you. ¹⁴ After whom is the King of Israel come out? After whom do you pursue? After a dead dog, after a flea.

³ O Jehovah my God, if I have done this, if there is unrighteousness in my hands, ⁴ if I have rewarded evil to him who was at peace with me, (yes, I have delivered him without cause who was my adversary), ⁵ let the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it. Yes, let him tread my life down to the earth and lay my glory in the dust. Selah.

⁷ Because without cause they have hid their net for me in a pit. Without cause they have dug a pit for my soul.

⁴ Those who hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head. Those who would cut me off, being my enemies wrongfully, are mighty. I have to restore what I did not take away.

⁴⁶ Which out of you convicts me concerning sin? But if I speak the truth, why are you not believing in me?

³² Jesus answered them, I have showed you many good works from my Father, because of what work from those do you stone me?

²³ Jesus answered him, If I spoke evilly, testify concerning the evil, but if good, why are you whipping me?
