¹ Now Solomon purposed to build a house for the name of Jehovah and a house for his kingdom. ² And Solomon counted out seventy thousand men to bear burdens and eighty thousand men who were hewers in the mountains and three thousand and six hundred to oversee them.
³ And Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying, As you dealt with David my father and sent him cedars to build for him a house to dwell in it, so with me. ⁴ Behold, I am about to build a house for the name of Jehovah my God, to dedicate it to him and to burn before him incense of sweet spices and for the continual showbread and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the Sabbaths and on the new moons and on the set feasts of Jehovah our God. This is an ordinance everlasting to Israel.
⁵ And the house which I build is great. For our God is great above all gods. ⁶ But who is able to build for him a house, seeing heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain him? Who am I then, that I should build for him a house, except only to burn incense before him?
⁷ Now therefore send me a man skillful to work in gold and in silver and in brass and in iron and in purple and crimson and blue and who knows how to engrave engravings, to be with the skillful men who are with me in Judah and in Jerusalem, whom David my father provided.
⁸ Send to me also cedar trees, fir trees and algum trees, out of Lebanon. For I know that your servants know how to cut timber in Lebanon. And behold, my servants will be with your servants, ⁹ even to prepare for me timber in abundance. For the house which I am about to build will be great and wonderful.
¹⁰ And behold, I will give to your servants, the hewers who cut timber, twenty thousand measures of beaten wheat and twenty thousand measures of barley and twenty thousand baths of wine and twenty thousand baths of oil.
¹¹ Then Huram the king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon, Because Jehovah loves his people, he has made you king over them. ¹² Huram said moreover, Praise Jehovah, the God of Israel, that made heaven and earth, who has given to David the king a wise son, endued with discretion and understanding, that should build a house for Jehovah and a house for his kingdom.
¹³ And now I have sent a skillful man, endued with understanding, of Huram my father's, ¹⁴ the son of a woman of the daughters of Dan. And his father was a man of Tyre, skillful to work in gold and in silver, in brass, in iron, in stone and in timber, in purple, in blue and in fine linen and in crimson, also to engrave any manner of engraving and to devise any device, that there may be a place appointed to him with your skillful men and with the skillful men of my lord David your father.
¹⁵ Now therefore the wheat and the barley, the oil and the wine, which my lord has spoken of, let him send to his servants. ¹⁶ And we will cut wood out of Lebanon, as much as you will need. And we will bring it to you in floats by sea to Joppa and you will carry it up to Jerusalem.
¹⁷ And Solomon numbered all the aliens that were in the land of Israel, after the numbering with which David his father had numbered them. And they were found a hundred and fifty-three thousand and six hundred. ¹⁸ And he set seventy thousand of them to bear burdens and eighty thousand who were hewers in the mountains and three thousand and six hundred overseers to set the people to work.

⁵ But to the place which Jehovah your* God will choose out of all your* tribes, to put his name there, even to his habitation you* will seek and there you will come.

¹¹ then it will happen that to the place which Jehovah your* God will choose to cause his name to dwell there, there you* will bring all that I command you*: your* burnt offerings and your* sacrifices, your* tithes and the heave offering of your* hand and all your* choice vows which you* vow to Jehovah.

⁵⁸ If you will not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and fearful name, JEHOVAH YOUR GOD,

⁵ And behold, I purpose to build a house for the name of Jehovah my God, as Jehovah spoke to David my father, saying, Your son, whom I will set upon your throne in your place, he will build the house for my name.

¹ And Solomon was thirteen years building his own house and he finished all his house.

¹⁸ But Jehovah said to David my father, Because it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well that it was in your heart.

²⁰ And Jehovah has established his word that he spoke, for I have risen up in the place of David my father and sit on the throne of Israel, as Jehovah promised and have built the house for the name of Jehovah, the God of Israel.

¹ And it happened, when Solomon had finished the building of the house of Jehovah and the king's house and all Solomon's desire which he was pleased to do,

¹⁰ He will build a house for my name. And he will be my son and I will be his father and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel until everlasting.

⁹ Therefore pray thus: our Father, the one in the heavens, let your name be made holy. ¹⁰ Let your kingdom come. Let your will happen as in heaven, also upon the earth.

¹⁵ And Solomon had seventy thousand who bore burdens and eighty thousand who were hewers in the mountains, ¹⁶ besides Solomon's chief officers who were over the work: three thousand and three hundred who bore rule over the people that labored in the work.

¹⁸ And he set seventy thousand of them to bear burdens and eighty thousand who were hewers in the mountains and three thousand and six hundred overseers to set the people to work.

¹¹ And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David and cedar trees and carpenters and masons and they built David a house.

¹ And Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon, for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the place of his father, for Hiram was ever a devotee of David.
² And Solomon sent to Hiram, saying, ³ You know how that David my father could not build a house for the name of Jehovah his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until Jehovah put them under the soles of his feet. ⁴ But now Jehovah my God has given me rest on every side; there is neither adversary, nor evil occurrence.
⁵ And behold, I purpose to build a house for the name of Jehovah my God, as Jehovah spoke to David my father, saying, Your son, whom I will set upon your throne in your place, he will build the house for my name.
⁶ Now therefore command you that they cut for me cedar trees out of Lebanon. And my servants will be with your servants. And I will give you wages for your servants according to all that you will say, for you know that there is not among us any that knows how to cut timber like the Sidonians.
⁷ And it happened, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly and said, Praise Jehovah this day, who has given to David a wise son over this great people.
⁸ And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, I have heard that which you have sent to me. I will do all your desire concerning timber of cedar and concerning timber of fir. ⁹ My servants will bring them down from Lebanon to the sea. And I will make them into rafts to go by sea to the place that you will appoint me and will cause them to be smashed there and you will receive them. And you will accomplish my desire in giving food for my household.
¹⁰ So Hiram gave Solomon timber of cedar and timber of fir according to all his desire. ¹¹ And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand measures of wheat for food to his household and twenty measures of pure oil; thus Solomon gave to Hiram year by year.

¹ And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David and cedar trees and masons and carpenters, to build for him a house.

³⁰ And you will set upon the table showbread before me always.

³⁸ Now this is what you will offer upon the altar: two lambs a year old day by day continually. ³⁹ The one lamb you will offer in the morning and the other lamb you will offer at evening. ⁴⁰ And with the one lamb a tenth part of an ephah of fine flour mingled with the fourth part of a hin of beaten oil and the fourth part of a hin of wine for a drink offering. ⁴¹ And the other lamb you will offer at evening and will do to it according to the meal offering of the morning and according to the drink offering of it, for a sweet aroma, an offering made by fire to Jehovah. ⁴² It will be a continual burnt offering throughout your* genealogy at the door of the tent of meeting before Jehovah, where I will meet with you*, to speak to you there.

⁷ And Aaron will burn in it incense of sweet spices. Every morning, when he dresses the lamps, he will burn it.

¹ And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, ² Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, The set feasts of Jehovah, which you* will proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my set feasts. ³ Six days will work be done, but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation. You* will do no manner of work. It is a Sabbath to Jehovah in all your* dwellings.
⁴ These are the set feasts of Jehovah, even holy convocations, which you* will proclaim in their appointed season.
⁵ In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at evening, is Jehovah's Passover. ⁶ And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread to Jehovah. You* will eat unleavened bread seven days. ⁷ In the first day you* will have a holy convocation. You* will do no job work. ⁸ But you* will offer an offering made by fire to Jehovah seven days. In the seventh day is a holy convocation, you* will do no job work.
⁹ And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, ¹⁰ Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, When you* have come into the land which I give to you* and will reap the harvest of it, then you* will bring the sheaf of the first-fruits of your* harvest to the priest. ¹¹ And he will wave the sheaf before Jehovah, to be accepted for you*. On the morrow after the Sabbath the priest will wave it. ¹² And in the day when you* wave the sheaf, you* will offer a male-lamb without blemish a year old for a burnt offering to Jehovah. ¹³ And the meal offering of it will be two tenth parts of an ephah of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering made by fire to Jehovah for a sweet aroma. And the drink offering of it will be of wine, the fourth part of a hin. ¹⁴ And you* will eat neither bread, nor parched grain, nor fresh ears, until this same day, until you* have brought the oblation of your* God. It is an everlasting statute throughout your* genealogy in all your* dwellings.
¹⁵ And you* will count to you* from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that you* brought the sheaf of the wave offering, there will be complete seven Sabbaths. ¹⁶ You* will number fifty days, even to the morrow after the seventh Sabbath and you* will offer a new meal offering to Jehovah. ¹⁷ You* will bring out of your* habitations two wave-loaves of two tenth parts of an ephah. They will be of fine flour. They will be baked with leaven, for first-fruits to Jehovah.

⁵ And you will take fine flour and bake twelve cakes of it. Two tenth parts of an ephah will be in one cake. ⁶ And you will set them in two rows, six on a row, upon the pure table before Jehovah. ⁷ And you will put pure frankincense upon each row, that it may be on the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire to Jehovah. ⁸ Every Sabbath day he will set it in order before Jehovah continually. It is an everlasting covenant from the sons of Israel. ⁹ And it will be for Aaron and his sons. And they will eat it in a holy place, for it is most holy to him of the offerings of Jehovah made by fire by an everlasting statute.

¹ And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, ² Command the sons of Israel and say to them, My oblation, my food for my offerings made by fire, of a sweet aroma to me, you* will observe to offer to me in their due season.
³ And you will say to them, This is the offering made by fire which you* will offer to Jehovah: male-lambs a year old without blemish, two day by day, for a continual burnt offering. ⁴ The one lamb you will offer in the morning and the other lamb you will offer at evening, ⁵ and the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a meal offering, mingled with the fourth part of a hin of beaten oil. ⁶ It is a continual burnt offering, which was made on Mount Sinai for a sweet aroma, an offering made by fire to Jehovah. ⁷ And the drink offering of it will be the fourth part of a hin for the one lamb. In the holy place you will pour out a drink offering of strong drink to Jehovah. ⁸ And the other lamb you will offer at evening. As the meal offering of the morning and as the drink offering of it, you will offer it, an offering made by fire, of a sweet aroma to Jehovah.
⁹ And on the Sabbath day two male-lambs a year old without blemish and two tenth parts of an ephah of fine flour for a meal offering, mingled with oil and the drink offering of it. ¹⁰ This is the burnt offering of every Sabbath, besides the continual burnt offering and the drink offering of it.
¹¹ And in the beginnings of your* months you* will offer a burnt offering to Jehovah: two young bullocks and one ram, seven male-lambs a year old without blemish, ¹² and three tenth parts of an ephah of fine flour for a meal offering, mingled with oil for each bullock and two tenth parts of fine flour for a meal offering, mingled with oil for the one ram, ¹³ and a tenth part of fine flour mingled with oil for a meal offering to every lamb, for a burnt offering of a sweet aroma, an offering made by fire to Jehovah. ¹⁴ And their drink offerings will be half a hin of wine for a bullock and the third part of a hin for the ram and the fourth part of a hin for a lamb. This is the burnt offering of every month throughout the months of the year. ¹⁵ And one male-goat for a sin offering to Jehovah, it will be offered besides the continual burnt offering and the drink offering of it. ¹⁶ And in the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, is Jehovah's Passover. ¹⁷ And on the fifteenth day of this month will be a feast; seven days will unleavened bread be eaten.
¹⁸ In the first day will be a holy convocation. You* will do no job work. ¹⁹ But you* will offer an offering made by fire, a burnt offering to Jehovah: two young bullocks and one ram and seven male-lambs a year old (they will be to you* without blemish), ²⁰ and their meal offering, fine flour mingled with oil. Three tenth parts you* will offer for a bullock and two tenth parts for the ram, ²¹ a tenth part will you offer for every lamb of the seven lambs. ²² Also one male-goat for a sin offering, to make atonement for you*. ²³ You* will offer these besides the burnt offering of the morning, which is for a continual burnt offering. ²⁴ After this manner you* will offer daily, for seven days, the food of the offering made by fire, of a sweet aroma to Jehovah. It will be offered besides the continual burnt offering and the drink offering of it. ²⁵ And on the seventh day you* will have a holy convocation. You* will do no job work.
²⁶ Also in the day of the first-fruits, when you* offer a new meal offering to Jehovah in your* feast of weeks, you* will have a holy convocation. You* will do no job work. ²⁷ But you* will offer a burnt offering for a sweet aroma to Jehovah: two young bullocks, one ram, seven male-lambs a year old, ²⁸ and their meal offering, fine flour mingled with oil, three tenth parts for each bullock, two tenth parts for the one ram, ²⁹ a tenth part for every lamb of the seven lambs,

⁶³ And Solomon offered for the sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered to Jehovah, twenty-two thousand oxen and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the sons of Israel dedicated the house of Jehovah.

¹ Now Solomon purposed to build a house for the name of Jehovah and a house for his kingdom.

¹¹ Who is like you, O Jehovah, among the gods? Who is like you, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

⁸ And though this house is so high, yet will every man who passes by it is astonished and will hiss. And they will say, Why has Jehovah done thus to this land and to this house?

²⁵ For great is Jehovah and greatly to be praised. He also is to be feared above all gods.

¹ And David the king said to all the assembly, Solomon my son, whom alone God has chosen, is yet young and tender and the work is great, for the palace is not for man, but for Jehovah God.

⁹ even to prepare for me timber in abundance. For the house which I am about to build will be great and wonderful.

⁸ There is none like you among the gods, O Lord, nor like your works. ⁹ All nations whom you have made will come and worship before you, O Lord and they will glorify your name.

⁵ Because I know that Jehovah is great and that our Lord is above all gods.

³ Great is Jehovah and greatly to be praised and his greatness is unsearchable.

⁶ There is none like you, O Jehovah. You are great and your name is great in might.

²⁰ As for the beauty of his ornament, he set it in majesty, but they made the images of their abominations and their detestable things in it. Therefore I have made it as an unclean thing to them.

¹⁵ Which in its own times, he will show, the Blessed and only Sovereign, the King of those who are reigning, and a Lord of those who have lordship over others;

¹¹ And Moses said to God, Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and that I should bring forth the sons of Israel out of Egypt?

⁵ But to the place which Jehovah your* God will choose out of all your* tribes, to put his name there, even to his habitation you* will seek and there you will come. ⁶ And there you* will bring your* burnt offerings and your* sacrifices and your* tithes and the heave offering of your* hand and your* vows and your* free-will offerings and the first-offspring of your* herd and of your* flock.

¹⁴ but in the place which Jehovah will choose in one of your tribes. There you will offer your burnt offerings and there you will do all that I command you.

²⁶ Only your holy things which you have and your vows, you will take and go to the place which Jehovah will choose.

¹⁸ Then David the king went in and sat before Jehovah. And he said, Who am I, O lord Jehovah and what is my house, that you have brought me thus far?

²⁷ But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain you. How much less this house that I have built!

¹⁴ But who am I and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? For all things come of you and of your own have we given you.

¹⁰ Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people. For who can judge this your people, that is so great?

¹⁸ But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain you. How much less this house which I have built!

¹ Jehovah says thus, Heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool. What manner of house will you* build to me and what place will be my rest?

⁴⁸ But the Highest is not dwelling in temples made with hands; just-as the prophet says, ⁴⁹ ‘The heaven is my throne and the earth the footstool of my feet. What sort of house will you be building me? says the Lord. Or what is the place of my rest?

¹⁶ to the one an aroma from death to death, but to the other an aroma from life to life. And who is sufficient in these things?

⁸ This grace was given to me the least of all the holy-ones, to proclaim the good-news of the untraceable riches of Christ among the Gentiles;

³ and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom and in understanding and in knowledge and in all manner of workmanship, ⁴ to devise skillful works, to work in gold and in silver and in brass, ⁵ and in cutting of stones for setting and in carving of wood, to work in all manner of workmanship.

¹⁴ He was the son of a widow of the tribe of Naphtali and his father was a man of Tyre, a workman in brass. And he was filled with wisdom and understanding and skill, to work all works in brass. And he came to king Solomon and worked all his work.

¹⁵ Moreover there are workmen with you in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber and all men who are skillful in every manner of work. ¹⁶ Of the gold, the silver and the brass and the iron, there is no number. Arise and be doing and Jehovah be with you.

¹³ And now I have sent a skillful man, endued with understanding, of Huram my father's, ¹⁴ the son of a woman of the daughters of Dan. And his father was a man of Tyre, skillful to work in gold and in silver, in brass, in iron, in stone and in timber, in purple, in blue and in fine linen and in crimson, also to engrave any manner of engraving and to devise any device, that there may be a place appointed to him with your skillful men and with the skillful men of my lord David your father.

²⁶ For his God instructs him aright, and teaches him.

²⁹ This also comes forth from Jehovah of hosts, who is wonderful in counsel and excellent in wisdom.

¹⁰ And foreigners will build up your walls and their kings will minister to you. For in my wrath I killed* you, but in my favor I have had mercy on you.

⁶ Now therefore command you that they cut for me cedar trees out of Lebanon. And my servants will be with your servants. And I will give you wages for your servants according to all that you will say, for you know that there is not among us any that knows how to cut timber like the Sidonians.

¹¹ And the navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of algum trees and precious stones.

¹⁰ And also the servants of Huram and the servants of Solomon, who brought gold from Ophir, brought algum trees and precious stones. ¹¹ And the king made of the algum trees terraces for the house of Jehovah and for the king's house and harps and psalteries for the singers. And there were none such seen before in the land of Judah.

⁵ And the house which I build is great. For our God is great above all gods.

²¹ And this house, which is so high, everyone who passes by it will be astonished and will say, Why has Jehovah done thus to this land and to this house?

¹¹ And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand measures of wheat for food to his household and twenty measures of pure oil; thus Solomon gave to Hiram year by year.

²⁶ And it was a handbreadth thick. And the brim of it was worked like the brim of a cup, like the flower of a lily. It held two thousand baths.

³⁸ And he made ten basins of brass. One basin contained forty baths. And every basin was four cubits. And upon every one of the ten bases one basin.

²² to a hundred talants of silver and to a hundred measures of wheat and to a hundred baths of wine and to a hundred baths of oil and salt without prescribing how much.

⁷ Now abide in that same house, eating and drinking from their things; for the worker is worthy of his wages. Do not proceed from house to house.

⁷ Therefore give to all, their dues: tribute to whom tribute; tax to whom tax; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor.
⁸ Owe nothing to anyone, except to love one another; for he who loves the other has fulfilled the law.

⁷ Jehovah did not set his love upon you*, nor choose you*, because you* were more in number than any people, for you* were the fewest of all peoples, ⁸ but because Jehovah loves you*. And because he would keep the oath which he swore to your* fathers, Jehovah has brought you* out with a mighty hand and redeemed you* out of the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh King of Egypt.

⁹ Praise Jehovah your God, who delighted in you to set you on the throne of Israel. Because Jehovah loved Israel everlasting, therefore he made you king, to do justice and righteousness.

⁸ Praise Jehovah your God, who delighted in you, to set you on his throne to be king for Jehovah your God. Because your God loved Israel, to establish them everlasting, therefore he made you king over them, to do justice and righteousness.

¹⁷ His name will endure everlasting. His name will be continued as long as the sun. And men will call him fortunate. All nations will call him fortunate.

¹ In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. ² And the earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep and the Spirit of God fluttered upon the face of the waters.

⁷ And it happened, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly and said, Praise Jehovah this day, who has given to David a wise son over this great people.

²⁰ And David said to all the assembly, Now praise Jehovah your* God. And all the assembly praised Jehovah, the God of their fathers and bowed down their heads and bowed-down to Jehovah and the king.

¹⁰ Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people. For who can judge this your people, that is so great?
¹¹ And God said to Solomon, Because this was in your heart and you have not asked riches, wealth, or honor, nor the life of those who hate you, neither yet have asked long life, but have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that you may judge my people over whom I have made you king, ¹² wisdom and knowledge are granted to you. And I will give you riches and wealth and honor, such as none of the kings have had who have been before you, neither will any after you have the like.

⁶ The heavens made were by the word of Jehovah and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

¹⁸ Praise Jehovah God, the God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things. ¹⁹ And praise his glorious name everlasting. And let the whole earth be filled with his glory. Truly and Truly.

⁵ Because of the voice of my groaning my bones cling to my flesh.

²⁵ You laid of old the foundation of the earth and the heavens are the work of your hands.

⁸ Our help is in the name of Jehovah, who made heaven and earth.

⁵ to him who by understanding made the heavens, because his loving kindness is everlasting,
⁶ to him who spread forth the earth above the waters, because his loving kindness is everlasting,

⁵ He who has the God of Jacob for his help is fortunate, whose hope is in Jehovah his God, ⁶ who made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them, who keeps truth everlasting,

¹⁰ But Jehovah is the true God. He is the living God and an everlasting King. At his wrath the earth trembles and the nations are not able to abide his indignation.

⁶⁸ The Lord, the God of Israel is gracious. Because he has visited and made redemption for his people,

²⁴ Now they, having heard it, lifted up their voice to God united and said, O Lord, you are the God who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all the things in them;

¹⁵ and saying, Men! Why are you doing these things? We are also human, of like-feelings with you and are proclaiming the good-news to you : to turn away from these futile things to the living God, who made the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and all things in them;

¹⁶ because all things were created by him, the things in the heavens and the things upon the earth, the visible and invisible, whether thrones or lordships or principalities or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. ¹⁷ And he is before all things and all things are standing in him.

³ The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ is gracious, who according to his much mercy has born us again into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

¹¹ Worthy are you, our Lord and our God, the holy one, to receive the glory and the honor and the power because you created all things and because they are your will and they were created.

⁶ and swore by the one who lives forevermore, who created the heaven and the things in it and the earth and the things in it and the sea and the things in it–that time will be no longer delay.

¹⁶ Also the pots and the shovels and the flesh-hooks and all the vessels of it, Huram his father made of bright brass for king Solomon for the house of Jehovah.

³ and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom and in understanding and in knowledge and in all manner of workmanship, ⁴ to devise skillful works, to work in gold and in silver and in brass,

¹³ And king Solomon sent and fetched Hiram out of Tyre. ¹⁴ He was the son of a widow of the tribe of Naphtali and his father was a man of Tyre, a workman in brass. And he was filled with wisdom and understanding and skill, to work all works in brass. And he came to king Solomon and worked all his work.

¹⁰ And behold, I will give to your servants, the hewers who cut timber, twenty thousand measures of beaten wheat and twenty thousand measures of barley and twenty thousand baths of wine and twenty thousand baths of oil.

⁴⁶ and Me-jarkon and Rakkon, with the border opposite Joppa.

⁸ And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, I have heard that which you have sent to me. I will do all your desire concerning timber of cedar and concerning timber of fir. ⁹ My servants will bring them down from Lebanon to the sea. And I will make them into rafts to go by sea to the place that you will appoint me and will cause them to be smashed there and you will receive them. And you will accomplish my desire in giving food for my household.

⁷ Also they gave money to the masons and to the carpenters and food and drink and oil, to those of Sidon and to those of Tyre, to bring cedar trees from Lebanon to the sea, to Joppa, according to the grant that they had of Cyrus king of Persia.

³ All things became through him, and without him nothing became that has become into being.

³⁶ Now there was a certain disciple in Joppa, Tabitha by name, which being translated, is called Dorcas. This one was full of good works and of charity, which she was doing.

³² Therefore send to Joppa, and call to you Simon, who is surnamed Peter; he is lodged in the house of Simon, a tanner, beside the sea. When he comes; he will be speaking to you.

¹³ And king Solomon raised forced-labor out of all Israel and forced-labor were thirty thousand men. ¹⁴ And he sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses. They were in Lebanon a month and at home two months. And Adoniram was over the men subject to forced-labor.

²⁰ As for all the people who were left of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites and the Jebusites, who were not of the sons of Israel, ²¹ their sons who were left after them in the land, whom the sons of Israel were not able utterly to destroy, of them Solomon raised force-labor of bondservants to this day.

² And David commanded to gather together the travelers that were in the land of Israel. And he set masons to hew worked stones to build the house of God.

² And Solomon counted out seventy thousand men to bear burdens and eighty thousand men who were hewers in the mountains and three thousand and six hundred to oversee them.

⁷ As for all the people who were left of the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, that were not of Israel, ⁸ of their sons who were left after them in the land whom the sons of Israel did not consume, of them Solomon raised forced-labor to this day.
