¹⁴ And when they brought out the money that was brought into the house of Jehovah, Hilkiah the priest found the book of the law of Jehovah given by Moses.

³⁶ And Aaron and his sons did all the things which Jehovah commanded by Moses.

¹¹ and that you* may teach the sons of Israel all the statutes which Jehovah has spoken to them by Moses.

⁴⁶ These are the statutes and ordinances and laws, which Jehovah made between him and the sons of Israel at Mount Sinai by Moses.

¹⁸ And it will be, when he sits upon the throne of his kingdom, that he will write for him a copy of this law in a book, out of it before the priests the Levites, ¹⁹ and it will be with him. And he will read in it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear Jehovah his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them,

²⁴ And it happened, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished, ²⁵ that Moses commanded the Levites, who bore the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, saying, ²⁶ Take this book of the law and put it by the side of the ark of the covenant of Jehovah your* God, that it may be there for a witness against you.

⁸ This book of the law will not depart out of your mouth, but you will meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it, for then you will make your way prosperous and then you will have good success.

⁸ And Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of Jehovah. And Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan and he read it. ⁹ And Shaphan the scribe came to the king and brought the king word again and said, Your servants have emptied out the money that was found in the house and have delivered it into the hand of the workmen who have the oversight of the house of Jehovah.
¹⁰ And Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest has delivered to me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king. ¹¹ And it happened, when the king had heard the words of the book of the law, that he tore his clothes.
¹² And the king commanded Hilkiah the priest and Ahikam the son of Shaphan and Achbor the son of Micaiah and Shaphan the scribe and Asaiah the king's servant, saying, ¹³ Go you*, inquire of Jehovah for me and for the people and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found, for great is the wrath of Jehovah that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not listened to the words of this book to do according to all what is written concerning us.
¹⁴ So Hilkiah the priest and Ahikam and Achbor and Shaphan and Asaiah, went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the second quarter) and they spoke with her.
¹⁵ And she said to them, Jehovah says thus, the God of Israel: Tell you* the man who sent you* to me, ¹⁶ Jehovah says thus, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place and upon the inhabitants of it, even all the words of the book which the king of Judah has read. ¹⁷ Because they have forsaken me and have burned incense to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the work of their hands, therefore my wrath will be kindled against this place and it will not be quenched.
¹⁸ But to the king of Judah, who sent you* to inquire of Jehovah, thus you* will say to him, Jehovah says thus, the God of Israel: As concerning the words which you have heard, ¹⁹ because your heart was tender and you humbled yourself before Jehovah when you heard what I spoke against this place and against the inhabitants of it, that they should become a desolation and a curse and have torn your clothes and wept before me, I also have heard you, says Jehovah.
²⁰ Therefore, behold, I will gather you to your fathers and you will be gathered to your grave in peace, neither will your eyes see all the evil which I will bring upon this place. And they brought the king word again.

¹ And it happened, when the kingdom of Rehoboam was established and he was strong, that he forsook the law of Jehovah and all Israel with him.

⁴ Moreover he commanded the people who dwelt in Jerusalem to give the portion of the priests and the Levites, that they might give themselves to the law of Jehovah.

⁹ And they came to Hilkiah the high priest and delivered the money that was brought into the house of God, which the Levites, the keepers of the threshold, had gathered by the hand of Manasseh and Ephraim and by all the remnant of Israel and by all Judah and Benjamin and by the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

²⁶ Now the rest of the acts of Josiah and his good deeds, according to what is written in the law of Jehovah,

¹⁰ For Ezra had set his heart to seek the law of Jehovah and to do it and to teach in Israel statutes and ordinances.

² because his delight is in the law of Jehovah and on his law he meditates day and night.

²⁴ Therefore as the tongue of fire devours the stubble and as the dry grass sinks down in the flame, so their root will be as rottenness and their blossom will go up as dust, because they have rejected the law of Jehovah of hosts and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

⁹ For it is a rebellious people, lying sons, sons who will not hear the law of Jehovah,

⁸ How can you* say, We are wise and the law of Jehovah is with us? But, behold, the false pen of the scribes has worked falsely.

³⁹ And as they had completed all things which were according to the Law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.
