⁵ we have sinned and have dealt perversely and have done wickedly and have rebelled, even turning aside from your precepts and from your ordinances,

⁴⁷ yet if they will rethink themselves in the land where they are carried captive and turn again and make supplication to you in the land of those who carried them captive, saying, We have sinned and have done perversely, we have dealt wickedly, ⁴⁸ if they return to you with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies who carried them captive and pray to you toward their land, which you gave to their fathers, the city which you have chosen and the house which I have built for your name, ⁴⁹ then hear you their prayer and their supplication in heaven your dwelling place and maintain their case, ⁵⁰ and forgive your people who have sinned against you and all their transgressions by which they have transgressed against you and give them compassion before those who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them

³⁷ yet if they will rethink themselves in the land where they are carried captive and turn again and make supplication to you in the land of their captivity, saying, We have sinned, we have done perversely and have dealt wickedly, ³⁸ if they return to you with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity where they have carried them captive and pray toward their land, which you gave to their fathers and the city which you have chosen and toward the house which I have built for your name, ³⁹ then hear you from heaven, even from your dwelling-place, their prayer and their supplications and maintain their case and forgive your people who have sinned against you.

⁶ and I said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to you, my God, for our iniquities are increased over our head and our guiltiness has grown up to the heavens.

⁶ Let your ear now be attentive and your eyes open, that you may listen to the prayer of your servant, which I pray before you at this time, day and night, for the sons of Israel your servants while I confess the sins of the sons of Israel, which we have sinned against you. Yes, I and my father's house have sinned. ⁷ We have dealt very corruptly against you and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the ordinances, which you commanded your servant Moses.
⁸ Remember, I beseech you, the word that you commanded your servant Moses, saying, If you* trespass, I will scatter you* abroad among the peoples,

³³ However you are just in all that has come upon us, for you have dealt truly, but we have done wickedly, ³⁴ neither have our kings, our rulers, our priests, nor our fathers, kept your law, nor listened to your commandments and your testimonies with which you testified against them.

²¹ Because I have kept the ways of Jehovah and have not wickedly departed from my God.

⁶ We have sinned with our fathers. We have committed iniquity. We have done wickedly.

¹⁰² I have not turned aside from your ordinances, because you have taught me.

⁶ All we like sheep have gone-astray. We have turned every one to his own way and Jehovah has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

¹³ transgressing and denying Jehovah and turning away from following our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.

⁵ You meet he who rejoices and works righteousness, those who remember you in your ways.
Behold, you were angry and we sinned. In them is eternity, shall we be saved? ⁶ For we have all become as unclean and all our righteous acts are as a menstruation cloth. And we all fade as a leaf. And our iniquities, like the wind, take us away. ⁷ And there is none who calls upon your name, who stirs himself up to take hold of you. For you have hid your face from us and have consumed us through our iniquities.

²⁵ Let us lie down in our shame and let our confusion cover us, for we have sinned against Jehovah our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even to this day and we have not obeyed the voice of Jehovah our God.

⁷ Though our iniquities testify against us, work you for your name's sake, O Jehovah. For our backslidings are many. We have sinned against you.

²⁰ Behold, O Jehovah, for I am in distress. My heart is troubled. My heart is turned within me. For I have grievously rebelled. Abroad the sword bereaves; at home there is as death.

⁹ And they will loathe themselves in their own sight for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.

¹¹ Yes, all Israel have transgressed your law, even turning aside, that they should not obey your voice. Therefore the curse has been poured out upon us and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God. For we have sinned against him.

¹⁵ And now, O Lord our God, who has brought your people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand and has gotten you renown, as at this day, we have sinned, we have done wickedly.

² When Jehovah spoke at the first by Hosea, Jehovah said to Hosea, Go, take to you a wife of prostitution and children of prostitution, for the land commits great prostitution, departing from Jehovah.

⁷ From the days of your* fathers you* have turned aside from my ordinances and have not kept them. Return to me and I will return to you*, says Jehovah of hosts. But you* say, How will we return?

¹² Beware brethren, lest there will be an evil heart of unbelief in anyone of you, in withdrawing away from the living God.
