²⁹ It is in the power of my hand to do you* harm, but the God of your* father spoke to me last night, saying, Take heed to yourself that you not speak to Jacob either good or bad.

¹³ And behold, Jehovah stood above it and said, I am Jehovah, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac. The land on which you lie, to you I will give it and to your seed.

²⁴ And God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream of the night and said to him, Take heed to yourself that you not speak to Jacob either good or bad.

⁴² Unless the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely now you would have sent me away empty. God has seen my affliction and the labor of my hands and rebuked you last night.

⁵³ The God of Abraham and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge between us. And Jacob swore by the fear of his father Isaac.

² And Joshua said to all the people, Jehovah says thus, the God of Israel: Your* fathers dwelt of old time beyond the River, even Terah, the father of Abraham and the father of Nahor and they served other gods. ³ And I took your* father Abraham from beyond the River and led him throughout all the land of Canaan and multiplied his seed and gave him Isaac.

⁴⁷ The king answered to Daniel and said, Of a truth your* God is the God of gods and Lord of kings and a revealer of secrets, since you have been able to reveal this secret.

²⁸ Nebuchadnezzar spoke and said, Praise the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, who has sent his messenger and delivered his servants who trusted in him and have changed the king's word and have yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

²⁰ And when he came near to the den to Daniel, he cried with a lamentable voice. The king spoke and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is your God, whom you serve continually, able to deliver you from the lions?

²⁶ I make a decree, that in all the dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel, for he is the living God and steadfast forever. And his kingdom is what will not be destroyed and his dominion will be even to the end.

¹⁰ Therefore Pilate says to him, Why do you not speak to me? Do you not know that I have authority to release you and have authority to crucify you?
¹¹ Jesus answered, You have no authority against me, except what was given to you from above. He who gave me to you has the greater sin because of this.

³⁸ And hereafter I say to you, Withdraw from these men and permit them to continue, because if this plan or this work is from men, it will be torn-down; ³⁹ but if it is from God, you will not be able to tear it down; lest you might be found even to be quarreling against God.

But the Lord said, I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. It is harsh for you to kick the cattle-prods.
