¹⁹ You will eat bread by the sweat of your face, till you return to the ground, because out of it you were taken. For you are dust and you will return to dust.

⁷ And Jehovah God formed man out of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul.

²⁷ And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken it upon me to speak to the Lord, who am I but dust and ashes.

⁴ I am a stranger and a traveler with you*. Give me a burial possession with you*, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.

²¹ And he said, Naked I came out of my mother's womb and naked I will return there. Jehovah gave and Jehovah has taken away, praise the name of Jehovah.

¹³ If I look for Sheol as my house, if I have spread my couch in the darkness, ¹⁴ if I have said to corruption, You are my father, to the worm, My mother and my sister, ¹⁵ where then is my hope? And as for my hope, who will see it? ¹⁶ It will go down to the bars of Sheol when once there is rest in the dust.

²⁶ And after my skin, this body, is destroyed, then outside my flesh I will see God,

²⁶ They lie down alike in the dust and the worm covers them.

¹⁵ all flesh will perish together and man will turn again to dust.

¹⁵ My strength is dried up like an earthen vessel and my tongue clings to my jaws and you have set me into the dust of death.

²⁹ All the fat ones of the earth will eat and worship. All those who go down to the dust will bow before him, even he who cannot keep his soul alive.

³ You turn man to destruction and say, Return, you* the sons of men.

¹⁴ Because he knows our frame. He remembers that we are dust.

²⁹ You hide your face, they are troubled. You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust.

¹⁶ The man who wanders out of the way of understanding will rest in the assembly of the dead.

³ What profit has man from all his labor in which he labors under the sun?

¹³ And I applied my heart to seek and to search out by wisdom concerning all that is done under heaven. It is a great task that God has given to the sons of men to be exercised by it.

²⁰ All go to one place. All are from the dust and all turn to dust again.

¹⁵ As he came out from his mother's womb, naked will he go again as he came and will take nothing for his labor, which he may carry away in his hand.

⁷ and the dust returns to the earth as it was and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

² And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to everlasting life and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

¹² Because of this, just-as sin entered into the world through one man and death through sin, and so death has gone forth to all men, in which all have sinned. ¹³ For Sin was in the world till the law, but sin is not charged to one’s account when there is no law. ¹⁴ But death reigned from Adam till Moses, even on those who did not sin on the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a pattern of the future one. \ulnone\nosupersub ¹⁵ But not like the trespass, so also is the gift. For if the many died by the trespass of the one, the favor of God and the gift by the favor of the one man, Jesus Christ, abounded much more to the many. ¹⁶ Now the gift is not as through one who sinned; for indeed the judgment came from one into condemnation, but the gift came from many trespasses into an act of righteousness. ¹⁷ For if, by the trespass of the one, death reigned through the one; much more they, who are receiving the abundance of the favor and of the gift of righteousness, will be reigning in life through the one, who is Jesus Christ. ¹⁸ Therefore consequently, as through one trespass the judgment came to all men to condemnation; so through the righteousness of one man the gift also came to all men into justification of life. ¹⁹ For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were designated as sinners, so also through the obedience of the one the many will be designated as righteous. ²⁰ But the law entered in beside us, in order that the trespass might increase, but where sin increased, the favor over-abounded; ²¹ in order that, just-as sin reigned in death, so also the favor might also reign through righteousness to everlasting life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

²¹ For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead also came through a man. ²² For just-as all die in Adam, so all will also be given-life in Christ.

²⁸ Let the one who steals, steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working at what is the good thing with his hands, in order that he may have something to give to the one who has need.

⁹ For brethren, you remember our labor and hardship. For we were working night and day, that we might not burden any of you while we preached to you the good-news of God.

¹⁰ For even when we were with you, we were commanding you this, If anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat.
