¹¹ My days are past. My purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of my heart.

⁶ My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle and are spent without hope.

²⁵ Now my days are swifter than a runner. They flee away. They see no good, ²⁶ They are passed away as the swift ships, as the eagle that swoops on the prey.

⁹ A man's heart devises his way, but Jehovah directs his steps.

²¹ There are many devices in a man's heart, but the counsel of Jehovah, that will stand.

¹⁰ Whatever your hand finds to do, do with your might, because there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, where you go.

¹⁰ Take counsel together and it will be brought to nothing. Speak the word and it will not stand, for God is with us.

¹⁰ I said, In the noontide of my days I will go into the gates of Sheol. I am deprived of the residue of my years.

³⁷ Who is he that says and it happens, when the Lord does not command it?

¹³ Now brethren, I do not wish you to be ignorant that I often purposed to come to you (and I was prevented till presently), in order that I might also have some fruit among you, just-as among the rest of the Gentiles.

¹⁵ And in this confidence, I was planning to come to you beforehand, in order that you might have a second favor from me; ¹⁶ and through you to go through into Macedonia, and away from Macedonia to come to you again and to be sent onward to Judea by you. ¹⁷ Therefore while planning this certain thing, I did not consequently use fickleness, did I? Or what I plan, do I plan those things according to the flesh, in order that there should be from me the yes, yes and the no, no?

¹³ Come now, you who are saying, Today and the next-day, we should travel into this city and spend one year there and be a merchant and make a gain. ¹⁴ You do not know what the next-day will bring, for what is your life? For it will be a vapor, which appears for a few but thereafter also disappears. ¹⁵ Instead of that, you should say, If the Lord wills, and we should also live, then we might do this or that.
