¹ Then Joshua called the Reubenites and the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh, ² and said to them, You* have kept all that Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded you* and have listened to my voice in all that I commanded you*. ³ You* have not left your* brothers these many days to this day, but have kept the charge of the commandment of Jehovah your* God.
⁴ And now Jehovah your* God has given rest to your* brothers, as he spoke to them. Therefore now turn and you* get to your* tents, to the land of your* possession, which Moses the servant of Jehovah gave you* beyond the Jordan.
⁵ Only take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded you*, to love Jehovah your* God and to walk in all his ways and to keep his commandments and to cling to him and to serve him with all your* heart and with all your* soul. ⁶ So Joshua blessed them and sent them away and they went to their tents.
⁷ Now to the one half-tribe of Manasseh Moses had given in Bashan, but to the other half Joshua gave among their brothers beyond the Jordan westward. Moreover when Joshua sent them away to their tents, he blessed them, ⁸ and spoke to them, saying, Return with much wealth to your* tents and with very much cattle, with silver and with gold and with brass and with iron and with very much garments. Divide the spoil of your* enemies with your* brothers.
⁹ And the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh returned and departed from the sons of Israel out of Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan, to go to the land of Gilead, to the land of their possession, of which they were possessed, according to the commandment of Jehovah by Moses.
¹⁰ And when they came to the region about the Jordan that is in the land of Canaan, the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh built there an altar by the Jordan, a great altar to look upon. ¹¹ And the sons of Israel heard say, Behold, the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh have built an altar in the forefront of the land of Canaan, in the region about the Jordan, on the side that pertains to the sons of Israel.
¹² And when the sons of Israel heard of it, the whole congregation of the sons of Israel gathered themselves together at Shiloh, to go up against them to war. ¹³ And the sons of Israel sent Phinehas, the son of Eleazar the priest, to the sons of Reuben and to the sons of Gad and to the half-tribe of Manasseh, into the land of Gilead, ¹⁴ and with him ten rulers, one ruler of a fathers' house for each of the tribes of Israel. And they were each man of them head of their fathers' houses among the thousands of Israel.
¹⁵ And they came to the sons of Reuben and to the sons of Gad and to the half-tribe of Manasseh, to the land of Gilead and they spoke with them, saying, ¹⁶ Thus says the whole congregation of Jehovah, What trespass is this that you* have committed against the God of Israel, to turn away this day from following Jehovah, in that you* have built for you* an altar, to rebel this day against Jehovah?
¹⁷ Is the iniquity of Peor too little for us, from which we have not cleansed ourselves to this day, although there came a plague upon the congregation of Jehovah, ¹⁸ that you* must turn away this day from following Jehovah? And it will be, seeing you* rebel today against Jehovah, that tomorrow he will be angry with the whole congregation of Israel.
¹⁹ However, if the land of your* possession is unclean, then pass over to the land of the possession of Jehovah, in which Jehovah's tabernacle dwells and take possession among us, but do not rebel against Jehovah, nor rebel against us, in building for you* an altar besides the altar of Jehovah our God. ²⁰ Did not Achan the son of Zerah commit a trespass in what was set apart and wrath fell upon all the congregation of Israel? And that man did not perish alone in his iniquity.
²¹ Then the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh answered and spoke to the heads of the thousands of Israel, ²² The Mighty One, God, Jehovah, the Mighty One, God, Jehovah, he knows and Israel he will know, if it is in rebellion, or if in trespass against Jehovah (do not save us this day), ²³ that we have built us an altar to turn away from following Jehovah, or if to offer burnt offering or meal offering on it, or if to offer sacrifices of peace offerings on it, let Jehovah himself require it, ²⁴ and if we have not rather out of carefulness done this, from purpose, saying, In time to come your* sons might speak to our sons, saying, What have you* to do with Jehovah, the God of Israel?
²⁵ For Jehovah has made the Jordan a border between us and you*, you* sons of Reuben and sons of Gad. You* have no portion in Jehovah. So your* sons might make our sons cease from fearing Jehovah.
²⁶ Therefore we said, Let us now prepare to build us an altar, not for burnt offering, nor for sacrifice, ²⁷ but it will be a witness between us and you* and between our generations after us, that we may do the service of Jehovah before him with our burnt offerings and with our sacrifices and with our peace offerings, that your* sons may not say to our sons in time to come, You* have no portion in Jehovah.
²⁸ Therefore we said, It will be, when they so say to us or to our genealogy in time to come, that we will say, Behold the pattern of the altar of Jehovah, which our fathers made, not for burnt offering, nor for sacrifice, but it is a witness between us and you*.
²⁹ Far be it from us that we should rebel against Jehovah and turn away this day from following Jehovah, to build an altar for burnt offering, for meal offering, or for sacrifice, besides the altar of Jehovah our God that is before his tabernacle.
³⁰ And when Phinehas the priest and the rulers of the congregation, even the heads of the thousands of Israel that were with him, heard the words that the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad and the sons of Manasseh spoke, it pleased them well.
³¹ And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest said to the sons of Reuben and to the sons of Gad and to the sons of Manasseh, This day we know that Jehovah is in the midst of us, because you* have not committed this trespass against Jehovah. Now you* have delivered the sons of Israel out of the hand of Jehovah.
³² And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest and the rulers, returned from the sons of Reuben and from the sons of Gad, out of the land of Gilead, to the land of Canaan, to the sons of Israel and brought them word again.
³³ And the thing pleased the sons of Israel. And the sons of Israel blessed God and spoke no more of going up against them to war, to destroy the land in which the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad dwelt. ³⁴ And the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad called the altar Witness. For, they said, it is a witness between us that Jehovah is God.

¹⁸ We will not return to our houses until the sons of Israel have inherited every man his inheritance. ¹⁹ For we will not inherit with them on the other side of the Jordan and forward, because our inheritance has fallen to us on this side of the Jordan eastward.
²⁰ And Moses said to them, If you* will do this thing, if you* will arm yourselves to go before Jehovah to the war, ²¹ and every armed man of you* will pass over the Jordan before Jehovah, until he has driven out his enemies from before him, ²² and the land is subdued before Jehovah, then afterward you* will return and be guiltless towards Jehovah and towards Israel and this land will be to you* for a possession before Jehovah. ²³ But if you* will not do so, behold, you* have sinned against Jehovah and be sure your* sin will find you* out. ²⁴ Build for you* cities for your* little ones and folds for your* sheep and do what has proceeded out of your* mouth.
²⁵ And the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben spoke to Moses, saying, Your servants will do as my lord commands. ²⁶ Our little ones, our wives, our flocks and all our cattle, will be there in the cities of Gilead, ²⁷ but your servants will pass over, every man who is armed for war, before Jehovah to battle, as my lord says.
²⁸ So Moses gave charge concerning them to Eleazar the priest and to Joshua the son of Nun and to the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the sons of Israel. ²⁹ And Moses said to them, If the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben will pass with you* over the Jordan, every man that is armed to battle, before Jehovah and the land will be subdued before you*, then you* will give them the land of Gilead for a possession, ³⁰ but if they will not pass over with you* armed, they will have possessions among you* in the land of Canaan.
³¹ And the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben answered, saying, As Jehovah has said to your servants, so we will do. ³² We will pass over armed before Jehovah into the land of Canaan and the possession of our inheritance is with us beyond the Jordan.
³³ And Moses gave to them, even to the sons of Gad and to the sons of Reuben and to the half-tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon King of the Amorites and the kingdom of Og King of Bashan, the land, according to the cities of it with their borders, even the cities of the land all around.

⁷ And when you* came to this place, Sihon the king of Heshbon and Og the king of Bashan, came out against us to battle and we killed* them. ⁸ And we took their land and gave it for an inheritance to the Reubenites and to the Gadites and to the half-tribe of the Manassites.

¹⁶ And I gave to the Reubenites and to the Gadites from Gilead even to the valley of the Arnon, the middle of the valley and the border of it, even to the brook of Jabbok, which is the border of the sons of Ammon, ¹⁷ also the Arabah and the Jordan and the border of it, from Chinnereth even to the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, under the slopes of Pisgah eastward.
¹⁸ And I commanded you* at that time, saying, Jehovah your* God has given you* this land to possess it. You* will pass over armed before your* brothers the sons of Israel, all the men of valor. ¹⁹ But your* wives and your* little ones and your* cattle, (I know that you* have much cattle,) will abide in your* cities which I have given you* ²⁰ until Jehovah gives rest to your* brothers, as to you* and they also possess the land which Jehovah your* God gives them beyond the Jordan, then you* will return every man to his possession, which I have given you*.

¹² And to the Reubenites and to the Gadites and to the half-tribe of Manasseh, Joshua spoke, saying, ¹³ Remember the word which Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded you*, saying, Jehovah your* God gives you* rest and will give you* this land. ¹⁴ Your* wives, your* little ones and your* cattle, will abide in the land which Moses gave you* beyond the Jordan, but you* will pass over before your* brothers armed, all the mighty men of valor and will help them ¹⁵ until Jehovah has given your* brothers rest, as you* and they also have possessed the land which Jehovah your* God gives them. Then you* will return to the land of your* possession and possess it, which Moses the servant of Jehovah gave you* beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise.
¹⁶ And they answered Joshua, saying, All that you have commanded us we will do and wherever you send us we will go. ¹⁷ Just-as we listened to Moses in all things, so will we listen to you. Only Jehovah your God be with you, as he was with Moses. ¹⁸ Whoever he is who will rebel against your commandment and will not listen to your words in all that you command him, he will be put to death. Only be strong and of good courage.

²³ But I am troubled from the two ends, having the desire, that I should vacate and be together with Christ, but it is much better rather ²⁴ now to remain in the flesh is necessary because of you. ²⁵ And having confidence of this, I know that I will remain, and I will be abiding together with you all, for your progress and joy in the faith; ²⁶ in order that your boasting may abound in Christ Jesus in me, through my presence with you again. ²⁷ Only behave-as citizens worthy of the good-news of the Christ; in order that, whether I come and see you, or am absent, I may hear about the things concerning you, that you are standing-firm in one spirit, with one soul contending together with us in the faith of the good-news.

¹⁸ We will not return to our houses until the sons of Israel have inherited every man his inheritance.

³³ And Moses gave to them, even to the sons of Gad and to the sons of Reuben and to the half-tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon King of the Amorites and the kingdom of Og King of Bashan, the land, according to the cities of it with their borders, even the cities of the land all around.
³⁴ And the sons of Gad built Dibon and Ataroth and Aroer, ³⁵ and Atroth-shophan and Jazer and Jogbehah, ³⁶ and Beth-nimrah and Beth-haran: fortified cities and folds for sheep.
³⁷ And the sons of Reuben built Heshbon and Elealeh and Kiriathaim, ³⁸ and Nebo and Baal-meon, (their names being changed,) and Sibmah. And they gave other names to the cities which they built.
³⁹ And the sons of Machir the son of Manasseh went to Gilead and took it and dispossessed the Amorites that were in it. ⁴⁰ And Moses gave Gilead to Machir the son of Manasseh and he dwelt in it. ⁴¹ And Jair the son of Manasseh went and took the towns of it and called them Havvoth-jair. ⁴² And Nobah went and took Kenath and the villages of it and called it Nobah, after his own name.

¹ Then we turned and went up the way to Bashan. And Og the King of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei. ² And Jehovah said to me, Fear him not, for I have delivered him and all his people and his land, into your hand. And you will do to him as you did to Sihon King of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon.
³ So Jehovah our God delivered into our hand Og also, the King of Bashan and all his people and we killed* him until none was left to him remaining. ⁴ And we took all his cities at that time. There was not a city which we did not take from them, sixty cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan. ⁵ All these were cities fortified with high walls, gates and bars; besides the un-walled towns a great many. ⁶ And we utterly destroyed them, as we did to Sihon King of Heshbon, utterly destroying every inhabited city, with the women and the little ones. ⁷ But all the cattle and the spoil of the cities, we took for a prey to ourselves.
⁸ And we took the land at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, from the valley of the Arnon to Mount Hermon ⁹ (the Sidonians call Hermon, Sirion and the Amorites call it Senir), ¹⁰ all the cities of the plain and all Gilead and all Bashan, to Salecah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan. ¹¹ (For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of the Rephaim. Behold, his couch was a couch of iron. Is it not in Rabbah of the sons of Ammon? Nine cubits was the length of it and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man.) ¹² And we took this land in possession at that time. From Aroer, which is by the valley of the Arnon and half the hill-country of Gilead and the cities of it, I gave to the Reubenites and to the Gadites.
¹³ And the rest of Gilead and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, I gave to the half-tribe of Manasseh, all the region of Argob, even all Bashan. The same is called the land of Rephaim. ¹⁴ (Jair the son of Manasseh took all the region of Argob, to the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites and called them, even Bashan, after his own name, Havvoth-jair, to this day.) ¹⁵ And I gave Gilead to Machir.
¹⁶ And I gave to the Reubenites and to the Gadites from Gilead even to the valley of the Arnon, the middle of the valley and the border of it, even to the brook of Jabbok, which is the border of the sons of Ammon, ¹⁷ also the Arabah and the Jordan and the border of it, from Chinnereth even to the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, under the slopes of Pisgah eastward.

²⁰ until Jehovah gives rest to your* brothers, as to you* and they also possess the land which Jehovah your* God gives them beyond the Jordan, then you* will return every man to his possession, which I have given you*.

⁹ For you* are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which Jehovah your God gives you.

⁸ And we took their land and gave it for an inheritance to the Reubenites and to the Gadites and to the half-tribe of the Manassites.

⁸ With him the Reubenites and the Gadites received their inheritance, which Moses gave them, beyond the Jordan eastward, even as Moses the servant of Jehovah gave them:

¹⁵ And Moses gave to the tribe of the sons of Reuben according to their families.

⁴³ So Jehovah gave to Israel all the land which he swore to give to their fathers and they possessed it and dwelt in it. ⁴⁴ And Jehovah gave them rest all around, according to all that he swore to their fathers. And there stood not a man of all their enemies before them. Jehovah delivered all their enemies into their hand.

²⁶ And he said, If you will diligently listen to the voice of Jehovah your God and will do what is right in his eyes and will listen to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases upon you, which I have put upon the Egyptians, because I am Jehovah who heals you.

⁶ and showing loving kindness to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.

¹ And now, O Israel, listen to the statutes and to the ordinances, which I teach you*, to do them, that you* may live and go in and possess the land which Jehovah, the God of your* fathers, gives you*. ² You* will not add to the word which I command you*, neither will you* diminish from it, that you* may keep the commandments of Jehovah your* God which I command you*.

⁴ But you* who clung to Jehovah your* God are alive every one of you* this day.

⁶ Keep therefore and do them, for this is your* wisdom and your* understanding in the sight of the peoples, who will hear all these statutes and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

⁹ Only take heed to yourself and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things which your eyes saw and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life, but make them known to your sons and your son's sons–

⁵ And you will love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
⁶ And these words, which I command you this day, will be upon your heart. ⁷ And you will teach them diligently to your sons and will talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. ⁸ And you will bind them for a sign upon your hand and they will be for bands between your eyes. ⁹ And you will write them upon the door-posts of your house and upon your gates.

¹⁷ You* will diligently keep the commandments of Jehovah your* God and his testimonies and his statutes, which he has commanded you.

¹² And now, Israel, what does Jehovah your God require of you, but to fear Jehovah your God, to walk in all his ways and to love him and to serve Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul, ¹³ to keep the commandments of Jehovah and his statutes, which I command you this day for your good?

²⁰ You will fear Jehovah your God. Him you will serve and to him you will cling and by his name you will swear.

¹ Therefore you will love Jehovah your God and keep his charge and his statutes and his ordinances and his commandments, always.

¹³ And it will happen, if you* will listen diligently to my commandments which I command you* this day, to love Jehovah your* God and to serve him with all your* heart and with all your* soul,

²² For if you* will diligently keep all this commandment which I command you*, to do it, to love Jehovah your* God, to walk in all his ways and to cling to him,

⁴ You* will walk after Jehovah your* God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey his voice and you* will serve him and cling to him.

⁸ but cling to Jehovah your* God as you* have done to this day.

¹⁴ Now therefore fear Jehovah and serve him in sincerity and in truth. And put away the gods which your* fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt and serve you* Jehovah.
¹⁵ And if it seems evil to you* to serve Jehovah, choose you* this day whom you* will serve: whether the gods which your* fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you* dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah.

³ And Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, If you* do return to Jehovah with all your* heart, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you* and direct your* hearts to Jehovah and serve him only. And he will deliver you* out of the hand of the Philistines.

²⁰ And Samuel said to the people, Do not fear. You* have indeed done all this evil, yet do not turn aside from following Jehovah, but serve Jehovah with all your* heart.

²⁴ Only fear Jehovah and serve him in truth with all your* heart, for consider what great things he has done for you*.

⁷ And I will establish his kingdom until everlasting, if he is constant to do my commandments and my ordinances, as at this day.
⁸ Now therefore, in the sight of all Israel, the assembly of Jehovah and in the audience of our God, observe and seek out all the commandments of Jehovah your* God, that you* may possess this good land and leave it for an inheritance to your* sons after you* until everlasting.

³ Those who keep justice are fortunate and he who does righteousness at all times.

⁴ You have commanded your precepts, that we should observe them diligently.
⁵ O that my ways were established to observe your statutes! ⁶ Then I will not be put to shame when I have respect for all your commandments.

²³ Keep your heart with all diligence, because out of it are the things of life.

² Why do you* spend money for what is not bread and your* labor for what does not satisfy?
Listen diligently to me and eat you* what is good and let your* soul delight itself in fatness.

¹⁶ And it will happen, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, As Jehovah lives, even as they taught my people to swear by Baal, then they will be built up in the midst of my people.

¹⁰ Then Jesus says to him, Go behind me, Adversary! For it has been written, ‘You will worship the Lord your God and you will give-divine service to him only.’

²⁴ No one is able to serve two lords, for either he will hate the one and will love the other; or he will hold to one and will despise the other. You are not able to serve God and ^{F} money.

³⁷ Now Jesus said to him, You will love the Lord your God in your whole heart and in your whole soul and in your whole mind.

⁷⁴ having been fearlessly rescued out of the hand of our enemies, to give-divine service to him

²⁶ If anyone serves me, let him follow me, and where I am, my servant will also be there. And if anyone serves me, the Father will be honoring him.

¹⁵ If you love me, keep my commandments.

²¹ He who holds my commandments and is keeping them, that one is he who loves me and he who loves me will be loved by my Father and I will love him and will be manifesting myself to him.
²² Judas (not Iscariot) says to him, Lord, what has happened that you are about to manifest yourself to us and not to the world?
²³ Jesus answered and said to him, If anyone loves me, he will be keeping my word and my Father will love him, and we will be coming to him and we will be making our abode with him.

¹⁵ Therefore when they had a meal, Jesus says to Simon Peter, Simon, Son of Jonah, do you ^{F} love me more-than these things?
He says to him, Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.
He says to him, Feed my lambs.
¹⁶ He says to him again a second-time, Simon, Son of Jonah, do you ^{F} love me?
He says to him, Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.

Jesus says to him, Feed my sheep.

²³ who, having come and having seen the favor of God, rejoiced and was encouraging all with purpose of heart to remain in the Lord,

²³ For there stood beside me this night a messenger of the God, whose I am, to whom I also am giving-divine service to,

⁹ For God is my witness, to whom I am giving-divine service in my spirit in the good-news of his Son, as I constantly make a remembrance of you.

²⁸ Now we know that all things work together toward good, to those who love God, to those who are an invited one according to his purpose.

⁹ Let the love be non-pretended, abhorring evil things, joining yourselves to what is the good thing.

¹¹ But we are desiring each of you to show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope till the end; ¹² in order that you should not become sluggish, but imitators of those who are inheriting the promises through faith and patience.

¹⁵ exercising the oversight of yourselves lest there is anyone who comes-short, away from the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing upward, might trouble you, and many may be defiled through this;

¹² The fortunate man who is enduring temptation, because having become approved, he will be receiving the crown of life, which the Lord promised to those who love him.

⁵ Listen, my beloved brethren. Did God not choose the poor of the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which he promised to those who love him?

⁵ Now also for this same thing, besides having entered in all diligence, supply in your faith, virtue, and in your virtue, knowledge ⁶ and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, endurance, and in your endurance, godliness; ⁷ and in your godliness, brotherly-love, and in your brotherly-love, love. ⁸ For if these things are existing and increasing in you, none will designate you idle or unfruitful toward the full knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁹ For the one is blind in whom these things are not present, being short-sighted, having taken on himself the forgetfulness of the cleansing from his old sins.
¹⁰ Hence brethren, be more diligent to make your calling and choice steadfast; for, you may never trip someday while practicing these things;

² We know in this that we love the children of God, whenever we love God and whenever we are keeping his commandments. ³ For this is the love of God, in order that we should keep his commandments and his commandments are not burdensome.

¹⁹ And he blessed him and said, Abram be blessed from God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth.

⁷ And Joseph brought in Jacob his father and set him before Pharaoh and Jacob blessed Pharaoh.

¹⁰ And Jacob blessed Pharaoh and went out from the presence of Pharaoh.

⁴³ And Moses saw all the work, and behold, they had done it, as Jehovah had commanded, even so they had done it. And Moses blessed them.

¹³ And Joshua blessed him and he gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for an inheritance.

⁷ Now to the one half-tribe of Manasseh Moses had given in Bashan, but to the other half Joshua gave among their brothers beyond the Jordan westward. Moreover when Joshua sent them away to their tents, he blessed them, ⁸ and spoke to them, saying, Return with much wealth to your* tents and with very much cattle, with silver and with gold and with brass and with iron and with very much garments. Divide the spoil of your* enemies with your* brothers.

²⁰ And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife and said, Jehovah give you seed by this woman for the petition which was asked of Jehovah. And they went to their own home.

¹⁸ And when David had made an end of offering the burnt offering and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of Jehovah of hosts.

²⁰ Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David and said, How glorious was the King of Israel today, who uncovered himself today in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!

¹⁸ For a multitude of the people, even many of Ephraim and Manasseh, Issachar and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet they ate the Passover otherwise than it is written.
For Hezekiah had prayed for them, saying, The good Jehovah pardon everyone

³⁴ and Simeon gave-thanks for them, and said to Mary his mother, Behold, this child is destined for the fall and the resurrection of many in Israel, and for a sign being spoken against.

⁵⁰ Now he led them outside until they were in Bethany, and he lifted up his hands and blessed them.

⁶ But he whose genealogy is not traced from them has taken-tithes of Abraham and has blessed the one who has the promises. ⁷ But without any dispute the inferior is blessed by the better one.

³³ And Moses gave to them, even to the sons of Gad and to the sons of Reuben and to the half-tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon King of the Amorites and the kingdom of Og King of Bashan, the land, according to the cities of it with their borders, even the cities of the land all around.

²⁹ And Moses gave to the half-tribe of Manasseh and it was for the half-tribe of the sons of Manasseh according to their families. ³⁰ And their border was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan and all the towns of Jair, which are in Bashan, sixty cities. ³¹ And half Gilead and Ashtaroth and Edrei, the cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were for the sons of Machir the son of Manasseh, even for the half of the sons of Machir according to their families.

¹ And this was the lot for the tribe of Manasseh, for he was the firstborn of Joseph. As for Machir the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead, because he was a man of war, therefore he had Gilead and Bashan. ² So it was for the rest of the sons of Manasseh according to their families: for the sons of Abiezer and for the sons of Helek and for the sons of Asriel and for the sons of Shechem and for the sons of Hepher and for the sons of Shemida. These were the male children of Manasseh the son of Joseph according to their families.
³ But Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters. And these are the names of his daughters: Mahlah and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah and Tirzah. ⁴ And they came near before Eleazar the priest and before Joshua the son of Nun and before the rulers, saying, Jehovah commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brothers. Therefore according to the commandment of Jehovah he gave them an inheritance among the brothers of their father.
⁵ And there fell ten parts to Manasseh, besides the land of Gilead and Bashan, which is beyond the Jordan, ⁶ because the daughters of Manasseh had an inheritance among his sons. And the land of Gilead belonged to the rest of the sons of Manasseh.
⁷ And the border of Manasseh was from Asher to Michmethath, which is before Shechem. And the border went along to the right hand, to the inhabitants of En-tappuah. ⁸ The land of Tappuah belonged to Manasseh, but Tappuah on the border of Manasseh belonged to the sons of Ephraim. ⁹ And the border went down to the brook of Kanah, southward of the brook. These cities belonged to Ephraim among the cities of Manasseh. And the border of Manasseh was on the north side of the brook. And the goings out of it were at the sea.
¹⁰ Southward it was Ephraim's and northward it was Manasseh's and the sea was his border and they reached to Asher on the north and to Issachar on the east.
¹¹ And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher, Beth-shean and its towns and Ibleam and its towns and the inhabitants of Dor and its towns and the inhabitants of En-dor and its towns and the inhabitants of Taanach and its towns and the inhabitants of Megiddo and its towns, even the three heights.
¹² Yet the sons of Manasseh could not drive out those cities, but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.

²⁷ and divide the prey into two parts: between the men skilled in war who went out to battle and all the congregation.

⁹ a land in which you will eat bread without scarceness. You will not lack anything in it, a land whose stones are iron and out of whose hills you may dig copper. ¹⁰ And you will eat and be full and you will praise Jehovah your God for the good land which he has given you.
¹¹ Beware lest you forget Jehovah your God, in not keeping his commandments and his ordinances and his statutes, which I command you this day. ¹² Lest, when you have eaten and are full and have built pleasant houses and dwelt in it, ¹³ and when your herds and your flocks multiply and your silver and your gold is multiplied and all that you have is multiplied, ¹⁴ then your heart be lifted up and you forget Jehovah your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage,

¹⁷ And lest you say in your heart, My power and the might of my hand has gotten me this wealth. ¹⁸ But you will remember Jehovah your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore to your fathers, as at this day.

¹⁶ And when he had brought him down, behold, they were spread abroad over all the ground, eating and drinking and dancing, because of all the great spoil that they had taken out of the land of the Philistines and out of the land of Judah.

²⁴ And who will listen to you* in this matter? For as his share is who goes down to the battle so will his share be who remains by the baggage; they will share alike.

⁵ Therefore Jehovah established the kingdom in his hand. And all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat tribute and he had riches and honor in abundance.

²⁷ And Hezekiah had exceedingly much riches and honor. And he provided for him treasuries for silver and for gold and for precious stones and for spices and for shields and for all manner of desirable vessels,

¹² Kings of armies fled quickly and she who remained at home divided the spoil.

¹⁶ Length of days is in her right hand, in her left hand are riches and honor.

⁵⁸ So-then my beloved brethren, become grounded, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not empty in the Lord.

²⁶ having deemed the reproach of the Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he was looking toward the reward.

¹ Now the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad had a very great multitude of cattle. And when they saw the land of Jazer and the land of Gilead, that, behold, the place was a place for cattle,

²⁶ Our little ones, our wives, our flocks and all our cattle, will be there in the cities of Gilead,

²⁹ And Moses said to them, If the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben will pass with you* over the Jordan, every man that is armed to battle, before Jehovah and the land will be subdued before you*, then you* will give them the land of Gilead for a possession,

³⁹ And the sons of Machir the son of Manasseh went to Gilead and took it and dispossessed the Amorites that were in it. ⁴⁰ And Moses gave Gilead to Machir the son of Manasseh and he dwelt in it.

¹⁵ And I gave Gilead to Machir.
¹⁶ And I gave to the Reubenites and to the Gadites from Gilead even to the valley of the Arnon, the middle of the valley and the border of it, even to the brook of Jabbok, which is the border of the sons of Ammon,

¹¹ and Gilead and the border of the Geshurites and Maacathites and all Mount Hermon and all Bashan to Salecah;

²⁵ And their border was Jazer and all the cities of Gilead and half the land of the sons of Ammon, to Aroer that is before Rabbah,

³¹ And half Gilead and Ashtaroth and Edrei, the cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were for the sons of Machir the son of Manasseh, even for the half of the sons of Machir according to their families.

⁷ Gilead is mine and Manasseh is mine. Ephraim also is the defense of my head. Judah is my scepter.

¹⁸ And Jacob rose up early in the morning and took the stone that he had put under his head and set it up for a pillar and poured oil upon the top of it.

⁴⁶ And Jacob said to his brothers, Gather stones and they took stones and made a heap. And they ate there by the heap. ⁴⁷ And Laban called it Jegar-sahadutha.
⁴⁸ And Laban said, This heap is witness between me and you this day. Therefore the name of it was called Galeed, ⁴⁹ and Mizpah. For he said, May Jehovah watch between me and you, when we are absent one from another, ⁵⁰ if you will afflict my daughters and if you will take wives besides my daughters, no man is with us, see, God is witness between me and you.
⁵¹ And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap and behold the pillar, which I have set between me and you. ⁵² This heap is witness and the pillar is witness, that I will not pass over this heap to you and that you will not pass over this heap and this pillar for harm to me.

⁵ And Joshua said to them, Pass over before the ark of Jehovah your* God into the midst of the Jordan and take up every man of you* a stone upon his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Israel, ⁶ that this may be a sign among you*, that, when your* children ask in time to come, saying, What do you* mean by these stones? ⁷ Then you* will say to them, Because the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of Jehovah. When it passed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. And these stones will be for a memorial to the sons of Israel everlasting.
⁸ And the sons of Israel did so as Joshua commanded and took up twelve stones out of the midst of the Jordan, as Jehovah spoke to Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Israel and they carried them over with them to the place where they lodged and laid them down there.
⁹ And Joshua set up twelve stones in the midst of the Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests who bore the ark of the covenant stood and they are there to this day.

²⁵ For Jehovah has made the Jordan a border between us and you*, you* sons of Reuben and sons of Gad. You* have no portion in Jehovah. So your* sons might make our sons cease from fearing Jehovah.
²⁶ Therefore we said, Let us now prepare to build us an altar, not for burnt offering, nor for sacrifice, ²⁷ but it will be a witness between us and you* and between our generations after us, that we may do the service of Jehovah before him with our burnt offerings and with our sacrifices and with our peace offerings, that your* sons may not say to our sons in time to come, You* have no portion in Jehovah.
²⁸ Therefore we said, It will be, when they so say to us or to our genealogy in time to come, that we will say, Behold the pattern of the altar of Jehovah, which our fathers made, not for burnt offering, nor for sacrifice, but it is a witness between us and you*.

²⁶ And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God. And he took a great stone and set it up there under the oak that was by the sanctuary of Jehovah.
²⁷ And Joshua said to all the people, Behold, this stone will be a witness against us, for it has heard all the words of Jehovah which he spoke to us. It will be therefore a witness against you*, lest you* deny your* God.

⁸ And you will say to them, Whatever man there is of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that journey among them, who offers a burnt offering or sacrifice, ⁹ and does not bring it to the door of the tent of meeting, to sacrifice it to Jehovah, that man will be cut off from his people.

⁵ But to the place which Jehovah your* God will choose out of all your* tribes, to put his name there, even to his habitation you* will seek and there you will come. ⁶ And there you* will bring your* burnt offerings and your* sacrifices and your* tithes and the heave offering of your* hand and your* vows and your* free-will offerings and the first-offspring of your* herd and of your* flock. ⁷ And there you* will eat before Jehovah your* God and you* will rejoice in all that you* put your* hand to, you* and your* households, in which Jehovah your God has blessed you.

¹² If you will hear tell concerning one of your cities, which Jehovah your God gives you to dwell there, saying, ¹³ Certain worthless fellows have gone out from the midst of you and have drawn away the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which you* have not known, ¹⁴ then you will inquire and make search and ask diligently. And behold, if it is true and the thing certain, that such abomination is worked in the midst of you,

⁷ And the men pursued after them the way to the Jordan to the fords and as soon as those who pursued after them were gone out, they shut the gate.

¹⁴ And it happened, when the people moved from their tents to pass over the Jordan–the priests who bore the ark of the covenant being before the people– ¹⁵ and when those who bore the ark came to the Jordan and the feet of the priests who bore the ark were dipped in the brink of the water (for the Jordan overflows all its banks all the time of harvest), ¹⁶ that the waters which came down from above, stood and rose up in one heap a great way off, at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan and those that went down toward the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, were entirely cut off. And the people passed over right against Jericho.

⁵ And the Gileadites took the fords of the Jordan against the Ephraimites. And it was so, that, when any of the fugitives of Ephraim said, Let me go over, the men of Gilead said to him, Are you an Ephraimite? If he said, No,

²⁸ These things happened in Bethany beyond-that area of the Jordan, where John was immersing.

¹ Now on the first day of the week Mary the Magdalene comes in the morning, while being still dark, to the tomb and sees the stone has been lifted away from the tomb.

¹² and she views two messengers in white sitting, one toward the head and one toward the feet, where the body of Jesus was laying.

¹⁵ you will surely kill* the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly and all that is in it and the cattle in it, with the edge of the sword.

¹ And the whole congregation of the sons of Israel assembled themselves together at Shiloh and set up the tent of meeting there and the land was subdued before them.

¹ Then all the sons of Israel went out. And the congregation was assembled as one man, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, with the land of Gilead, to Jehovah at Mizpah. ² And the chiefs of all the people, even of all the tribes of Israel, presented themselves in the assembly of the people of God, four hundred thousand footmen who drew a sword. ³ (Now the sons of Benjamin heard that the sons of Israel had gone up to Mizpah.) And the sons of Israel said, Tell us, how did this wickedness happen?
⁴ And the Levite, the husband of the woman who was murdered, answered and said, I came into Gibeah that belongs to Benjamin, I and my concubine, to lodge. ⁵ And the men of Gibeah rose against me and beset the house all around me by night. They thought to have me slain and they forced my concubine and she is dead.
⁶ And I took my concubine and cut her in pieces and sent her throughout all the country of the inheritance of Israel, for they have committed lewdness and senselessness in Israel. ⁷ Behold, you* sons of Israel, all of you*, give your* advice and counsel here.
⁸ And all the people arose as one man, saying, We will not any of us go to his tent, neither will we any of us turn to his house. ⁹ But now this is the thing which we will do to Gibeah: We will go up against it by lot, ¹⁰ and we will take ten men of a hundred throughout all the tribes of Israel and a hundred of a thousand and a thousand out of ten thousand, to fetch provision for the people, that they may do, when they come to Gibeah of Benjamin, according to all the senselessness that they have done in Israel. ¹¹ So all the men of Israel were gathered against the city, knit together as one man.

² And when Peter came up to Jerusalem, those of the circumcision were arguing with him, ³ saying, You entered to men having an uncircumcised state and ate together with them.

² For I testify to them that they have a zeal of God, but not according to full knowledge.

¹⁷ They are zealous for you in no good way. But they wish to lock you out from us, in order that you may be zealous for them. ¹⁸ But it is always good to be zealous in a good thing and not only while I am present with you.

²⁵ And Eleazar Aaron's son took to him one of the daughters of Putiel as a wife and she bore to him Phinehas. These are the heads of the fathers of the Levites according to their families.

⁷ And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from the midst of the congregation and took a spear in his hand.

¹¹ Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned my wrath away from the sons of Israel, in that he was jealous with my jealousy among them, so that I did not consume the sons of Israel in my jealousy.
¹² Therefore say, Behold, I give to him my covenant of peace. ¹³ And it will be to him and to his seed after him, the covenant of an everlasting priesthood, because he was jealous for his God and made atonement for the sons of Israel.

¹⁴ then you will inquire and make search and ask diligently. And behold, if it is true and the thing certain, that such abomination is worked in the midst of you,

¹² And the tribes of Israel sent men through all the tribe of Benjamin, saying, What wickedness is this that has happen among you*?

²⁸ and Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it in those days), saying, Shall I yet again go out to battle against the sons of Benjamin my brother, or shall I cease? And Jehovah said, Go up, for tomorrow I will deliver him into your hand.

³⁰ Then Phinehas stood up and executed judgment and so the plague was restrained. ³¹ And that was reckoned to him for righteousness to generation and generation until everlasting.

¹⁸ Every purpose is established by counsel and make war with wise guidance.

⁹ Debate your case with your neighbor himself and disclose not the secret of another, ¹⁰ lest he who hears it revile you and your evil report not turn back.
¹¹ A timely word spoken is apples of gold in a lattice-work of silver.
¹² An earring of gold and an ornament of fine gold, so is reproving a wise one upon an obedient ear.
¹³ As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, is a faithful messenger to those who send him, for he refreshes the soul of his masters.

¹⁵ Now if your brother sins against you, go and reprove him, the sin is between you and him only; if he hears you, you have gained your brother.

²⁵ And Moses chose able men out of all Israel and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties and rulers of tens,

⁴ And with you* there will be a man of every tribe, each one head of his fathers' house.

⁸ They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them. They have made for them a molten calf and have worshiped it and have sacrificed to it and said, These are your gods, O Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt.

¹⁹ It is a trespass offering. He is certainly guilty before Jehovah.

⁴⁰ And they will confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass which they trespassed against me and also that, because they walked contrary to me,

⁶ Speak to the sons of Israel, When a man or woman will commit any sin that men commit, so as to trespass against Jehovah and that soul will be guilty,

⁴³ For there the Amalekite and the Canaanite are before you* and you* will fall by the sword. Because you* have turned back from following Jehovah, therefore Jehovah will not be with you*.

¹⁵ For if you* turn away from after him, he will yet again leave them in the wilderness and you* will destroy all this people.

⁴ For he will turn away your son from following me, that they may serve other gods, so the anger of Jehovah will be kindled against you* and he will destroy you quickly.

⁴ You* will not do so to Jehovah your* God. ⁵ But to the place which Jehovah your* God will choose out of all your* tribes, to put his name there, even to his habitation you* will seek and there you will come. ⁶ And there you* will bring your* burnt offerings and your* sacrifices and your* tithes and the heave offering of your* hand and your* vows and your* free-will offerings and the first-offspring of your* herd and of your* flock.

¹³ Take heed to yourself that you offer not your burnt offerings in every place that you see, ¹⁴ but in the place which Jehovah will choose in one of your tribes. There you will offer your burnt offerings and there you will do all that I command you.

¹⁷ But if your heart turns away and you will not hear, but will be drawn away and worship other gods and serve them,

¹² And when the sons of Israel heard of it, the whole congregation of the sons of Israel gathered themselves together at Shiloh, to go up against them to war.

¹⁸ that you* must turn away this day from following Jehovah? And it will be, seeing you* rebel today against Jehovah, that tomorrow he will be angry with the whole congregation of Israel.

²³ For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft and stubbornness is as idolatry and household-idol. Because you have rejected the word of Jehovah, he has also rejected you from being king.

³ And Joab said, Jehovah make his people a hundred times as many as they are. But, my lord the king, are they not all my lord's servants? Why does my lord require this thing? Why will he be a cause of guilt to Israel?

¹⁹ So Israel rebelled against the house of David to this day.

²⁷ Now from the time that Amaziah turned away from following Jehovah they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem and he fled to Lachish. But they sent after him to Lachish and killed him there.

¹⁸ And they withstood Uzziah the king and said to him, It does not pertain to you, Uzziah, to burn incense to Jehovah, but to the priests the sons of Aaron who are consecrated to burn incense. Go out of the sanctuary. For you have trespassed, neither will it be for your honor from Jehovah God.

¹³ and said to them, You* will not bring in the captives here. For you* propose what will bring upon us a trespass against Jehovah, to add to our sins and to our trespass. For our trespass is great and there is fierce wrath against Israel.

² For they have taken of their daughters for themselves and for their sons, so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the peoples of the lands. Yes, the hand of the heads and rulers has been chief in this trespass.

¹⁵ O Jehovah, the God of Israel, you are righteous, for we are left a remnant that has escaped, as it is this day. Behold, we are before you in our guiltiness, for none can stand before you because of this.

⁸ and might not be as their fathers: a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation that did not set their heart aright and whose spirit was not steadfast with God.

¹⁰ But they rebelled and grieved his holy Spirit. Therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and himself fought against them.

¹⁴ For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also be forgiving you. ¹⁵ But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father be forgiving your trespasses.

¹⁷ But if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the congregation, and if he also refuses to hear the congregation, let him be just-like the Gentile and the tax collector to you.

¹⁰ Now brethren, I am pleading with you through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, in order that you all should speak the same thing and there should be no splits among you, but you should be framed together in the same mind and in the same viewpoint.

⁴ in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. When you and my spirit are gathered together, together with the power of our Lord Jesus,

¹ Paul, an apostle, (not from men, neither through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him up from the dead), ² and all the brethren who are together with me, to the congregations of Galatia:

²⁵ Beware that you do not renounce the one who speaks. For if those men did not flee when they renounced the one who divinely-warned them upon the earth, much more we may not flee who are turning away from him, who is from the heavens;

¹ And Israel abode in Shittim. And the people began to play the prostitute with the daughters of Moab, ² for they called the people to the sacrifices of their gods. And the people ate and bowed-down to their gods. ³ And Israel joined himself to Baal-peor and the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Israel.
⁴ And Jehovah said to Moses, Take all the chiefs of the people and hang them up to Jehovah before the sun, that the fierce anger of Jehovah may turn away from Israel. ⁵ And Moses said to the judges of Israel, Kill you* every one his men who have joined themselves to Baal-peor.
⁶ And behold, one of the sons of Israel came and brought to his brothers a Midianite woman in the sight of Moses and in the sight of all the congregation of the sons of Israel, while they were weeping at the door of the tent of meeting.
⁷ And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from the midst of the congregation and took a spear in his hand. ⁸ And he went after the man of Israel into the tent and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel and the woman through her body. So the plague was stayed from the sons of Israel. ⁹ And those who died by the plague were twenty-four thousand.
¹⁰ And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, ¹¹ Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned my wrath away from the sons of Israel, in that he was jealous with my jealousy among them, so that I did not consume the sons of Israel in my jealousy.
¹² Therefore say, Behold, I give to him my covenant of peace. ¹³ And it will be to him and to his seed after him, the covenant of an everlasting priesthood, because he was jealous for his God and made atonement for the sons of Israel.
¹⁴ Now the name of the man of Israel who was slain, who was slain with the Midianite woman, was Zimri, the son of Salu, a ruler of a fathers' house among the Simeonites. ¹⁵ And the name of the Midianite woman who was slain was Cozbi, the daughter of Zur. He was head of the people of a fathers' house in Midian.
¹⁶ And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, ¹⁷ Distress the Midianites and kill* them, ¹⁸ for they distress you* with their wiles, with which they have beguiled you* in the matter of Peor and in the matter of Cozbi, the daughter of the ruler of Midian, their sister, who was slain on the day of the plague in the matter of Peor.

³ Your* eyes have seen what Jehovah did because of Baal-peor. For all the men who followed Baal-peor, Jehovah your God has destroyed them from the midst of you. ⁴ But you* who clung to Jehovah your* God are alive every one of you* this day.

¹³ And after all that has come upon us for our evil deeds and for our great guilt, seeing that you, our God, have punished us less than our iniquities deserve and have given us such a remnant, ¹⁴ will we again break your commandments and make a marriage-agreement with the peoples who do these abominations? Would you not be angry with us till you had consumed us, so that there should be no remnant, nor any to escape?

²⁸ They also joined themselves to Baal of Peor and ate the sacrifices of the dead. ²⁹ Thus they provoked him to anger with their practices and the plague broke in upon them.

⁸ Neither should we fornicate, like some of them fornicated, and twenty three thousand fell in one day.

¹¹ Now all these things are examples which were befalling to those Jews, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have arrived.

²² And they fell upon their faces and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, will one man sin and will you be angry with all the congregation?

¹ But the sons of Israel committed a trespass in what was set apart. For Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took from what was set apart and the anger of Jehovah was kindled against the sons of Israel.

¹¹ Israel has sinned. Yes, they have even transgressed my covenant which I commanded them. Yes, they have even taken from what was set apart and have also stolen and also dissembled. And they have even put it among their own stuff.

²¹ When I saw among the spoil a pleasant Babylonian mantle and two hundred shekels of silver and a wedge of gold of fifty shekels weight, then I desired them and took them. And behold, they are hid in the ground in the midst of my tent and the silver under it.

¹⁶ Thus says the whole congregation of Jehovah, What trespass is this that you* have committed against the God of Israel, to turn away this day from following Jehovah, in that you* have built for you* an altar, to rebel this day against Jehovah?

²⁰ Did not Achan the son of Zerah commit a trespass in what was set apart and wrath fell upon all the congregation of Israel? And that man did not perish alone in his iniquity.

¹⁴ If you* will fear Jehovah and serve him and listen to his voice and not rebel against the commandment of Jehovah, then both you* and also the king who reigns over you* will be followers of Jehovah your* God.

¹ And again the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Israel and he moved David against them, saying, Go, number Israel and Judah.

⁶ But if you* will turn away from following me, you* or your* sons and not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you*, but will go and serve other gods and worship them,

²¹ For he tore Israel from the house of David. And they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king.
And Jeroboam drove Israel from following Jehovah and made them sin a great sin.

¹ And Satan stood up against Israel and moved David to number Israel.

¹⁴ So Jehovah sent a pestilence upon Israel and there fell of Israel seventy thousand men.

³³ And Josiah took away all the abominations out of all the countries that pertained to the sons of Israel and made all who were found in Israel to serve, even to serve Jehovah their God. All his days they did not depart from following Jehovah, the God of their fathers.

¹⁷ You will bring them in and plant them on the mountain of your inheritance, the place, O Jehovah, which you have made for you to dwell in, the sanctuary, O Lord, which your hands have established.

²⁵ and the land is defiled. Therefore I visit the iniquity of it upon it and the land vomits out its inhabitants.
²⁶ You* therefore will keep my statutes and my ordinances and will not do any of these abominations, neither the home-born, nor the stranger that travels among you*, ²⁷ (for all these abominations the men of the land have done, who were before you* and the land is defiled), ²⁸ that the land not vomit you* out also, when you* defile it, as it vomited out the nation that was before you*.

¹³ And the priests and the Levites who were in all Israel resorted to him out of all their border.

¹⁶ And after them, such as set their hearts to seek Jehovah, the God of Israel, came to Jerusalem out of all the tribes of Israel to sacrifice to Jehovah, the God of their fathers. ¹⁷ So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah and made Rehoboam the son of Solomon strong three years. For they walked three years in the way of David and Solomon.

¹⁷ Therefore Jehovah says thus: Your wife will be a prostitute in the city and your sons and your daughters will fall by the sword and your land will be divided by line and you yourself will die in a land that is unclean. And Israel will surely be led away captive out of his land.

¹⁴ But Peter said, Not-so, Lord, because I have never eaten anything, common or unclean.
¹⁵ And a voice came to him again the second-time, What God has cleansed, you, do not make common.

⁸ But I said, Not-so, Lord, because anything common or unclean has never entered into my mouth.
⁹ But a voice answered me the second-time from heaven, What God has cleansed, you, do not make common.

⁵ And the men of Ai killed* of them about thirty-six men. And they chased them from before the gate even to Shebarim and killed* them at the descent. And the hearts of the people melted and became as water.

¹⁸ And he brought near his household man by man and Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, was taken.

²⁴ And Joshua and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah and the silver and the mantle and the wedge of gold and his sons and his daughters and his oxen and his donkeys and his sheep and his tent and all that he had and they brought them up to the valley of Achor.

⁶ Now these things became our examples, that we should not be desirers of evil things, just-as they also lusted.

⁶ and he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, with a catastrophe, incinerating them, having placed them as an example for those who are about to be ungodly;

⁵ But I plan to remind you, though you knowing this once for all, that the Lord, having saved people out of the land of Egypt, destroyed those who did not believe the second-time. ⁶ And the messengers who did not keep to their own principality, but having left their own house, he has kept to the judgment of the great day in eternal bonds under blackness.

²¹ Moreover you will provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating unjust gain and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties and rulers of tens, ²² and let them judge the people at all seasons. And it will be, that every great matter they will bring to you, but every small matter they will judge themselves. So it will be easier for yourself and they will bear the burden with you.
²³ If you will do this thing and God command you so, then you will be able to endure and all this people also will go to their place in peace.
²⁴ So Moses listened to the voice of his father-in-law and did all that he had said. ²⁵ And Moses chose able men out of all Israel and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties and rulers of tens,

¹ A soft answer turns away wrath, but a grievous word stirs up anger.

¹ The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from Jehovah.

¹³ He who gives answer before he hears, it is folly and shame to him.

²⁶ He who gives a right answer kisses the lips.

² But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, which are little to be among the thousands of Judah, out of you he will come out to me who is to be ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from long-ago, from the days of everlasting.

⁴ But Peter began and was expounding the matter to them afterwards, saying,

¹⁹ So-then my beloved brethren, let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath.

¹⁵ but make the Lord God holy in your hearts, and be ready habitually with a defense to everyone who is asking you for a reason concerning the hope which is in you, with meekness and fear;

¹¹ Now I know that Jehovah is greater than all gods, yes, in the thing in which they dealt proudly against them.

¹⁷ For Jehovah your* God, he is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, the mighty and the awesome, who regards not persons, nor takes reward.

³⁹ then hear you in heaven your dwelling-place and forgive and do and render to every man according to all his ways, whose heart you know (for you, even you only, know the hearts of all the sons of men),

⁷ although you know that I am not wicked. And there is none that can deliver out of your hand?

¹⁰ But he knows the way that I take. When he has tried me, I will come out as gold.

⁵ If I have walked with falsehood and my foot has hastened to deceit ⁶ (let me be weighed in an even balance, that God may know my integrity); ⁷ if my step has turned out of the way and my heart walked after my eyes and if any spot has clung to my hands, ⁸ then let me sow and let another eat, yes, let the produce of my field be rooted out.

³⁸ If my land cries out against me and the furrows of it weep together; ³⁹ if I have eaten the fruits of it without money, or have caused the owners of it to lose their lives, ⁴⁰ let thistles grow instead of wheat and cockle instead of barley.

³ O Jehovah my God, if I have done this, if there is unrighteousness in my hands, ⁴ if I have rewarded evil to him who was at peace with me, (yes, I have delivered him without cause who was my adversary), ⁵ let the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it. Yes, let him tread my life down to the earth and lay my glory in the dust. Selah.

⁶ And he will make your righteousness to go forth as the light and your justice as the noon-day.

²¹ will not God search this out? Because he knows the secrets of the heart.

¹ God stands in the congregation of God. He judges among the gods.

³ Because Jehovah is a great God and a great King above all gods.

⁷ Let all those be put to shame who serve graven images, who boast themselves of idols. Bow yourselves to him, all you* gods.

² O give thanks to the God of gods, for his loving kindness is everlasting.

¹ O Jehovah, you have searched and known me. ² You know my sitting down and my rising up. You understand my thought afar off. ³ You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways.
⁴ Because there is not a word in my tongue, but behold, O Jehovah, you know it altogether. ⁵ You have beset me behind and before and laid your hand upon me.
⁶ Such knowledge is too wonderful for me. It is high, I cannot attain to it.
⁷ Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence?
⁸ If I ascend up into heaven, you are there. If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, you are there.
⁹ If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the outermost parts of the sea, ¹⁰ your hand will lead me even there and your right hand will hold me.
¹¹ If I say, Surely the darkness will overwhelm me and the light around me will be night, ¹² even the darkness does not hide from you, but the night shines as the day. The darkness and the light are both alike to you.

³ Pull them out like sheep for the slaughter and prepare them for the day of slaughter.

¹⁰ I, Jehovah, search the mind. I try the heart, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his practices.

⁴⁷ The king answered to Daniel and said, Of a truth your* God is the God of gods and Lord of kings and a revealer of secrets, since you have been able to reveal this secret.

³⁶ And the king will do according to his will. And he will exalt himself and magnify himself above every god and will speak marvelous things against the God of gods. And he will prosper till the indignation be accomplished, for what is determined will be done.

⁹ I will bear the indignation of Jehovah, because I have sinned against him, until he pleads my case and executes judgment for me. He will bring me forth to the light and I will behold his righteousness.

¹⁸ Then you* will return and discern between the righteous man and the wicked man, between he who serves God and he who does not serve him.

²⁴ But Jesus himself was not entrusting himself to them, because he knew all men, \ulnone\nosupersub ²⁵ and because he had no need that anyone should testify concerning man; for he himself knew what was in man.

¹⁷ He says to him the third-time, Simon, Son of Jonah, Do you ^{F} love me?
Peter was sorrowful because he said to him the third-time, Do you ^{F} love me like a friend? And he said to him, Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you like a friend.

⁴ But Peter began and was expounding the matter to them afterwards, saying, ⁵ I was in the city of Joppa praying and I saw a vision while in a trance, a certain vessel coming down, like a great sheet being dropped down from heaven by the four edges, and it came to me. ⁶ Having stared into that sheet, I was considering, and I saw the four footed mammals of the earth and other beasts and reptiles and birds of the heaven.
⁷ Now I heard a voice saying to me, When you stand up Peter; sacrifice and eat.
⁸ But I said, Not-so, Lord, because anything common or unclean has never entered into my mouth.
⁹ But a voice answered me the second-time from heaven, What God has cleansed, you, do not make common. ¹⁰ Now this happened three-times and all were pulled up again into heaven. ¹¹ And behold, promptly three men stood at the house in which I was, having been sent from Caesarea to me. ¹² But the Spirit said for me to go together with them, making no distinction. Now these six brethren also came together with me, and we entered into the man’s house. ¹³ And he reported to us how he had seen the messenger standing in his house and saying to him, Send men to Joppa and send for Simon, whose surname is Peter; ¹⁴ who will be speaking the words to you in which you will be saved, you and all your house. ¹⁵ Now while I was beginning to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, just-like upon us also in the beginning. ¹⁶ Now I was reminded of the declaration of the Lord, how he said, John indeed immersed in water, but you will be immersed in the Holy Spirit. ¹⁷ Therefore, if God gave to them the equal gift like he also did to us when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, now who was I, that I am able to forbid God? ¹⁸ But having heard these things, they were quiet and glorifying God, saying, Consequently, God has also given repentance to the Gentiles into life.

¹¹ For if I indeed am wronging anyone, and have practiced anything worthy of death, I do not renounce to die, but if there is nothing of what these are accusing me; no one is able to grant me to them. I myself am appealing to Caesar.

¹¹ Therefore knowing the fear of the Lord, we are persuading men, but we have been manifested to God, and I hope to have also been manifested in your consciences.

¹¹ Why? Because I do not love you? God knows I do.

³¹ The God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ, he who is gracious forever, knows that I am not lying.

¹⁶ he who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light; whom no one from man has seen, nor is able to see: to whom is honor and everlasting dominion. Amen.

¹³ And there is no created thing unapparent in his sight, but all things are naked and have been laid-bare to his eyes to whom is our account.

²³ And I will be killing her children with death, and all the congregations will know that I am he who is searching the kidneys and hearts and I will be giving to you, each one according to your works.

¹⁶ And he has upon his garment and upon his thigh a name has been written, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

⁴ But you* will not eat flesh in its life, that is its blood.

¹¹ then it will happen that to the place which Jehovah your* God will choose to cause his name to dwell there, there you* will bring all that I command you*: your* burnt offerings and your* sacrifices, your* tithes and the heave offering of your* hand and all your* choice vows which you* vow to Jehovah.

¹⁹ And it will happen, that whoever will not listen to my words which he will speak in my name, I will require it of him.

¹⁶ So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying, And Jehovah will require it at the hand of David's enemies.

²² Thus Joash the king did not remember the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but killed his son. And when he died, he said, Jehovah look upon it and require it.

¹³ Why does the wicked man despise God and say in his heart, You will not require it?
¹⁴ You have seen. Because you behold mischief and spite, to repay with your hand. The poor man commits himself to you. You have been the helper of the fatherless.

¹⁸ When I say to a wicked man, You will surely die and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked man from his wicked way, to save his life, the same wicked man will die in his iniquity, but I will require his blood at your hand.

⁶ But if the watchman sees the sword come and does not blow the trumpet and the people are not warned and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity, but I will require his blood at the watchman's hand.

⁸ When I say to the wicked man, O wicked man, you will surely die and you do not speak to warn the wicked man from his way, that wicked man will die in his iniquity, but I will require his blood at your hand.

¹⁹ For I have known him, to the end that he may command his children and his household after him, that they may keep the way of Jehovah, to do righteousness and justice, to the end that Jehovah may bring upon Abraham what he has spoken of him.

³³ So will my righteousness answer for me after this, when you will come concerning my hire that is before you. Every one that is not speckled and spotted among the goats and black among the sheep, that is with me, will be considered stolen.

¹⁴ And it will be, when your son asks you in time to come, saying, What is this? that you will say to him, By strength of hand Jehovah brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage.

²⁰ When your son asks you in time to come, saying, What is the meaning of the testimonies and the statutes and the ordinances, which Jehovah our God has commanded you*?

⁶ that this may be a sign among you*, that, when your* children ask in time to come, saying, What do you* mean by these stones?

²⁷ but it will be a witness between us and you* and between our generations after us, that we may do the service of Jehovah before him with our burnt offerings and with our sacrifices and with our peace offerings, that your* sons may not say to our sons in time to come, You* have no portion in Jehovah.

¹⁹ Now therefore, I beseech you, let my lord the king hear the words of his servant. If it is Jehovah who has stirred you up against me, let him accept an offering, but if it is the sons of men, cursed be they before Jehovah. For they have driven me out this day that I should not cling to the inheritance of Jehovah, saying, Go, serve other gods.

¹ And there happened to be there a worthless fellow whose name was Sheba, the son of Bichri, a Benjamite. And he blew the trumpet and said, We have no portion in David, neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse. Every man to his tents, O Israel.

¹⁶ And when all Israel saw that the king did not listen to them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? Neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse. To your* tents, O Israel. Now see to your own house, David. So Israel departed to their tents.

²⁷ If this people go up to offer sacrifices in the house of Jehovah at Jerusalem, then the heart of this people will turn again to their lord, even to Rehoboam king of Judah. And they will kill me and return to Rehoboam king of Judah.
²⁸ Upon it the king took counsel and made two calves of gold. And he said to them, It is too much for you* to go up to Jerusalem. Behold your gods, O Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt. ²⁹ And he set the one in Bethel and the other he put in Dan. ³⁰ And this thing became a sin, for the people went to worship before the one, even to Dan.

¹⁶ And he will give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, which he has sinned and with which he has made Israel to sin.

³⁰ for the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned and with which he made Israel to sin, because of his provocation with which he provoked Jehovah, the God of Israel, to anger.

² then they drew near to Zerubbabel and to the heads of fathers and said to them, Let us build with you*, for we seek your* God, as you* do and we sacrifice to him since the days of Esarhaddon king of Assyria who brought us up here.
³ But Zerubbabel and Jeshua and the rest of the heads of fathers of Israel, said to them, You* have nothing to do with us in building a house to our God, but we ourselves together will build to Jehovah, the God of Israel, as king Cyrus the king of Persia has commanded us.

²⁰ Then I answered them and said to them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us. Therefore we his servants will arise and build, but you* have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem.

²¹ You have neither part nor inheritance in this word, for this heart of yours is not straight in God’s sight.

⁴⁸ And Laban said, This heap is witness between me and you this day. Therefore the name of it was called Galeed,

⁵² This heap is witness and the pillar is witness, that I will not pass over this heap to you and that you will not pass over this heap and this pillar for harm to me.

¹⁷ You may not eat within your gates the tithe of your grain, or of your new wine, or of your oil, or the first-offspring of your herd or of your flock, nor any of your vows which you vow, nor your free-will offerings, nor the heave offering of your hand. ¹⁸ But you will eat them before Jehovah your God in the place which Jehovah your God will choose, you and your son and your daughter and your man-servant and your maid-servant and the Levite who is within your gates. And you will rejoice before Jehovah your God in all that you put your hand to.

²⁶ Only your holy things which you have and your vows, you will take and go to the place which Jehovah will choose. ²⁷ And you will offer your burnt offerings, the flesh and the blood, upon the altar of Jehovah your God and the blood of your sacrifices will be poured out upon the altar of Jehovah your God and you will eat the flesh.

¹⁰ And when they came to the region about the Jordan that is in the land of Canaan, the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh built there an altar by the Jordan, a great altar to look upon.

³⁴ And the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad called the altar Witness. For, they said, it is a witness between us that Jehovah is God.

²⁷ And Joshua said to all the people, Behold, this stone will be a witness against us, for it has heard all the words of Jehovah which he spoke to us. It will be therefore a witness against you*, lest you* deny your* God.

¹² Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Jehovah has helped us to now.

⁴⁰ And see that you make them according to their pattern that has been shown you on the mountain.

¹⁰ And king Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria and saw the altar that was at Damascus. And king Ahaz sent to Urijah the priest the form of the altar and the pattern of it, according to all the workmanship of it.

¹⁰ You, son of man, show the house to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities and let them measure the pattern. ¹¹ And if they are ashamed of all that they have done, make known to them the form of the house and the fashion of it and the exits of it and the entrances of it and all the forms of it and all the ordinances of it and all the forms of it and all the laws of it. And write it in their sight, that they may keep the whole form of it and all the ordinances of it and do them.

⁵ who gives-divine service to what is a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, just-as Moses had been divinely-warned when he was about to complete the tabernacle; for he says, You will be making all things according to the pattern which was shown to you in the mountain.

⁷ And they said to him, Why does my lord speak such words as these? Far be it from your servants that they should do such a thing.

¹⁷ And he said, Far be it from me that I should do so. The man in whose hand the cup is found, he will be my bondman, but as for you*, you* get up in peace to your* father.

²³ that we have built us an altar to turn away from following Jehovah, or if to offer burnt offering or meal offering on it, or if to offer sacrifices of peace offerings on it, let Jehovah himself require it,

²⁶ Therefore we said, Let us now prepare to build us an altar, not for burnt offering, nor for sacrifice,

¹⁶ And the people answered and said, Far be it from us that we should forsake Jehovah, to serve other gods.

²³ Moreover as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against Jehovah in ceasing to pray for you*. But I will instruct you* in the good and the right way.

³ And Naboth said to Ahab, Jehovah forbid it of me that I should give the inheritance of my fathers to you.

²² But if you* say to me, We trust in Jehovah our God, is that not he whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah has taken away and has said to Judah and to Jerusalem, You* will worship before this altar in Jerusalem?

¹² Has not the same Hezekiah taken away his high places and his altars and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, saying, You* will worship before one altar and upon it you* will burn incense?

⁶ Let it not happen! Otherwise how will God judge the world?

² Let it not happen! We who died to sin, how will we live in it any longer?

¹⁴ Therefore what shall we say? There is not unrighteousness with God, is there? Let it not happen!

⁸ And Esau saw that the daughters of Canaan did not please Isaac his father.

³³ And the thing pleased the sons of Israel. And the sons of Israel blessed God and spoke no more of going up against them to war, to destroy the land in which the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad dwelt.

³ God has delivered into your* hand the rulers of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb and what was I able to do in comparison with you*? Then their anger was abated toward him when he had said that.

³² And David said to Abigail, Praise Jehovah, the God of Israel, who sent you this day to meet me, ³³ and your discretion is blessed and you are blessed, who have kept me this day from blood guiltiness and from avenging myself with my own hand.

⁶ Then Achish called David and said to him, As Jehovah lives, you have been upright and your going out and your coming in with me in the army is good in my sight, for I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming to me to this day. Nevertheless the lords do not favor you.

⁴ And the thing was right in the eyes of the king and of all the assembly.

²¹ And the saying pleased the king and the rulers and the king did according to the word of Memucan.

¹⁸ But having heard these things, they were quiet and glorifying God, saying, Consequently, God has also given repentance to the Gentiles into life.

¹⁰ And Joshua said, Hereby you* will know that the living God is among you* and that he will without fail drive out from before you* the Canaanite and the Hittite and the Hivite and the Perizzite and the Girgashite and the Amorite and the Jebusite.

² And he went out to meet Asa and said to him, Hear me, Asa and all Judah and Benjamin. Jehovah is with you* while you* are with him. And if you* seek him, he will be found of you*, but if you* forsake him, he will forsake you*.

¹⁷ The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands upon thousands. The Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the sanctuary.

⁶ Cry aloud and shout, you inhabitant of Zion, for great in the midst of you is the Holy One of Israel.

²³ Jehovah of hosts says thus: In those days, ten men will take hold, out of all the languages of the nations, they will take hold of the skirt of him who is a Jew, saying, We will go with you*, for we have heard that God is with you*.

²³ ‘Behold, the virgin will be pregnant, and will be bearing a son, and they will call his name Immanuel'; which is, after being translated, ‘God with us.’

²⁵ And thus, the secret things of his heart become apparent, and so, when he has fallen down upon his face, he will be worshiping God, reporting that God really is among you.

¹² And when the sons of Israel heard of it, the whole congregation of the sons of Israel gathered themselves together at Shiloh, to go up against them to war. ¹³ And the sons of Israel sent Phinehas, the son of Eleazar the priest, to the sons of Reuben and to the sons of Gad and to the half-tribe of Manasseh, into the land of Gilead, ¹⁴ and with him ten rulers, one ruler of a fathers' house for each of the tribes of Israel. And they were each man of them head of their fathers' houses among the thousands of Israel.

¹³ As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, is a faithful messenger to those who send him, for he refreshes the soul of his masters.

³⁰ And when Phinehas the priest and the rulers of the congregation, even the heads of the thousands of Israel that were with him, heard the words that the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad and the sons of Manasseh spoke, it pleased them well.

²⁰ And David said to all the assembly, Now praise Jehovah your* God. And all the assembly praised Jehovah, the God of their fathers and bowed down their heads and bowed-down to Jehovah and the king.

⁵ And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people (for he was above all the people) and when he opened it, all the people stood up.
⁶ And Ezra blessed Jehovah, the great God. And all the people answered, Truly, Truly, with the lifting up of their hands. And they bowed their heads and worshiped Jehovah with their faces to the ground.

¹⁹ Then the secret was shown to Daniel in a vision of the night. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.

²⁸ Then he accepted him into his arms and thanked God and said,

¹² Now all the multitude was silent, and they were hearing Barnabas and Paul describing how-much God did, in signs and wonders, among the Gentiles through them.

³¹ Now having read it, they rejoiced upon the encouragement.

⁷ and not only at his presence, but also at the encouragement to which he was encouraged in you, while reporting to us your longing, your anguish, your zeal on my behalf; so-that I rejoiced even more.

³ The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ is gracious, who has blessed us in every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

⁶ But now, when Timothy came to us from you, and proclaimed to us good-news about your faith and love, and that you have a good remembrance of us always, longing to see us, just-as we also long to see you. ⁷ Brethren, because of this, we were comforted on the basis of you in all our affliction and calamity through your faith, ⁸ because now we live, if you stand-firm in the Lord.

³⁹ And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces. And they said, Jehovah, he is God, Jehovah, he is God.

¹⁰ You* are my witnesses, says Jehovah and my servant whom I have chosen, that you* may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me there was no God formed, nor will there be after me.
