¹ And Jesus answered and spoke again to them in parables, saying: ² The kingdom of the heavens is similar to a certain king, who made a marriage-feast for his son, ³ and sent forth his bondservants to call to those who have been invited to the marriage-feast, and they were not willing to come. ⁴ Again he sent forth other bondservants, saying, Say to those who have been invited, Behold, I prepared my meal; my oxen and my fattened calves have been sacrificed, and all things are prepared. Come-here to the marriage-feast. ⁵ But they neglecting it, went away, one to his own field, another to his merchandise; ⁶ and the rest took-hold of his bondservants, and abused them and killed them. ⁷ And that king, having heard it, was angry, and he having sent his armies, destroyed those murderers and incinerated their city.
⁸ Then he says to his bondservants, The wedding is prepared, but those who have been invited were not worthy. ⁹ Therefore, travel on the thoroughfares of the roads, and as many as you may find, invite to the marriage-feast. ¹⁰ And those bondservants, having gone out into the roads, gathered together all things, as many people as they found, both evil and good and the wedding was filled with people reclining at the table.
¹¹ But when the king came in to look at those reclining at the table, he saw a man there who has not clothed himself in wedding attire; ¹² and he says to him, Comrade, how did you come in here not having on your wedding attire? Now he was dumbfounded. ¹³ Then the king said to the servants, When you bind him hand and foot, take him away and cast him out into the outer darkness–the weeping and the gnashing of teeth will be there. ¹⁴ For many are invited, but few are chosen.


¹⁵ Then the Pharisees traveled away and took counsel on how they might ensnare him in his speech. ¹⁶ And they send their disciples to him, with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that you are true and teach the way of God in truth, and do not care concerning anyone’s appearance; for you do not look at the countenance of men. ¹⁷ Therefore tell us, What do you think? Is it legal to give tribute to Caesar or not?
¹⁸ But Jesus, having known their wickedness, said, Why are you testing me, you hypocrites? ¹⁹ Show me the tribute coin. Now they brought to him a denarius. ²⁰ And he says to them, Whose face is this image and inscription? ²¹ They say to him, Caesar’s. Then he says to them, Therefore give to Caesar, the things which are Caesar’s, and to God, the things which are God’s. ²² And having heard it, they marveled, and went away, leaving him.

²³ In that day, the Sadducees came to him, saying that there is no resurrection, and they asked him, ²⁴ saying, Teacher, Moses said, If anyone dies, having no children, his brother will marry his wife and will be raising up seed to his brother. ²⁵ Now seven brethren were with us, and the first having married, but after he was dead, his wife had no seed left to his brother; ²⁶ likewise also the second and the third, until the seventh. ²⁷ But after them all, the woman also died. ²⁸ Therefore, whose wife will she be of the seven in the resurrection? For they all had her as a wife.
²⁹ But Jesus answered and said to them, You are being misled, by not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God. ³⁰ For they neither marry, nor are betrothed in the resurrection, but are like messengers of God in heaven. ³¹ But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what has been said to you by God, saying, ³² I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. ³³ And when the crowds heard it, they were being astounded by his teaching.


³⁴ But the Pharisees, having heard that he had hushed the Sadducees, were gathered together on the same ground. ³⁵ And one out of them, a professor of the law, asked a question, testing him and saying, ³⁶ Teacher, what is the great commandment in the law?
³⁷ Now Jesus said to him, You will love the Lord your God in your whole heart and in your whole soul and in your whole mind. ³⁸ This is the first and the great commandment. ³⁹ And the second commandment is similar to it, You will love your neighbor like yourself. ⁴⁰ In these two commandments hangs the whole law and the prophets.


⁴¹ Now the Pharisees having been gathered together, Jesus asked them a question, ⁴² saying, What do you think concerning the Christ? Whose son is he?
They say to him, David’s.
⁴³ He says to them, Therefore how does David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying, ⁴⁴ The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right, until I should place your enemies as the footstool of your feet? ⁴⁵ Therefore, if David calls him Lord, how is he his son? ⁴⁶ And no one was able to answer him a word, nor did anyone dare from that day forth to ask him anymore questions.

¹⁵ And Jesus said to them, The sons of the bridal-party are not able to mourn, inasmuch as the bridegroom is with them, are they? But the days will come, whenever the bridegroom is taken away from them and then they will be fasting. ¹⁶ But no one puts a patch of unshrunk fabric upon an old garment; for its fullness shrinks and lifts away from the garment and a worse split happens. ¹⁷ Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the wineskins burst and the wine is poured out and the wineskins will be destroyed, but they put new wine into new wineskins and both are protected together.

⁴³ But the unclean spirit, whenever it has gone out of the man, goes through waterless places, seeking rest and does not find it. ⁴⁴ Then it says, I will return into my house from where I came out, and when it comes, it finds it unoccupied, having been swept and adorned. ⁴⁵ Then it travels and takes with itself seven other spirits more evil than itself and they enter and dwell there and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first. So it will also be to this evil generation.

³ And he spoke many things to them in parables, saying: Behold, the sower went forth to sow; ⁴ and while he sowed, some fell beside the road and the birds came and devoured them.
⁵ Now others fell upon the rocky-areas, where they did not have much soil and immediately they rose up because they had no depth of soil; ⁶ and when the sun rose, they were burnt, and they dried up because they had no root.
⁷ Now others fell upon the thorns, and the thorns shot up and choked them.
⁸ But now, others fell upon the good soil and were giving fruit, which some was a hundred times, but some was sixty, but some thirty.
⁹ He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
¹⁰ And the disciples came and said to him, Why do you speak to them in parables?
¹¹ But he answered and said to them, It has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of the heavens, but it has not given to those men.

¹ For the kingdom of the heavens is similar to a man who is a householder, who went out at the same time every morning to hire workers into his vineyard. ² And having agreed together with the workers for a denarius a day , he sent them into his vineyard. ³ And he went out around the third hour and saw others standing idle in the marketplace; ⁴ and he said to those men, You also, go into the vineyard and I will be giving you whatever is just. And they went. ⁵ Again, they went out around the sixth and he did likewise. ⁶ Now around the eleventh hour, he went out and found others standing idle, and he says to them, Why are you standing here idle the whole day?
⁷ They say to him, Because no one has hired us.
So he says to them, You also, go into the vineyard and I will be giving you whatever is just. ⁸ Now when it became evening, the lord of the vineyard says to his commissioner, Call the workers and give to them their wages, begin from the last to the first. ⁹ And when those hired around the eleventh hour came, they each received a denarius apiece. ¹⁰ Now when the first came, they supposed that they will be receiving more, but they themselves also received a denarius apiece.
¹¹ But having received it, they were murmuring against the householder, ¹² saying, These last ones have only done one hour of work, and you have made them equal to us, who have borne the burden of the day and the burning heat.
¹³ But he answered and said to one of them, Comrade, I am not wronging you. Did you not agree together with me for a denarius? ¹⁴ Take up the thing which is yours and go away. It is my will to give to this last one, as I also did to you. ¹⁵ Or is it not legal for me to do what I will in the things which are mine? Or is your eye evil, because I am good? ¹⁶ So the last will be first, and the first last; for many are invited but few are chosen.

²⁸ But what do you think? A man had two children, and he came to the first and said, Child, go work today in my vineyard.
²⁹ But he answered and said, I am not willing, but later he regretted it and went.
³⁰ And he came to the second and said likewise. But he answered and said, I will go lord, and did not go. ³¹ Which one out of the two did the will of his father?
They say, The first.
Jesus says to them, Assuredly I am saying to you, that the tax collectors and the prostitutes will precede you into the kingdom of God. ³² For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe in him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed in him, and the n having seen it, you did not even regret it later, that you might believe in him.


³³ Hear another parable: there was a certain man, a householder, who planted a vineyard and placed a fence around it, and shoveled a winepress in it, and built a tower and rented it out to farmers, and went-abroad. ³⁴ Now when the time of the fruits drew near, he sent his bondservants to the farmers, to receive his fruits. ³⁵ And then the farmers took his bondservants and whipped one, and killed one and stoned one. ³⁶ Again, he sent other bondservants, more-than the first, and they did to them likewise. ³⁷ But later he sent to them his son, saying, They will be revering my son. ³⁸ But the farmers, when they saw the son, said among themselves, This is the heir. Come-here. We should kill him, and we might hold-onto his inheritance. ³⁹ And having taken him, they cast him forth outside the vineyard, and killed him. ⁴⁰ Therefore, whenever the lord of the vineyard comes, what shall he do to those farmers?
⁴¹ They say to him, He will evilly destroy those evil men, and will be renting the vineyard to other farmers, who will be giving to him the fruits at their seasons.
⁴² Jesus says to them, Have you never read in the Scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, this has become the head of the corner; this has become from the Lord and it is marvelous in our eyes? ⁴³ Because of this, I am saying to you, The kingdom of God will be taken away from you, and will be given to a nation producing the fruits of it. ⁴⁴ And he who falls upon this stone will be shattered, but upon whomever it falls, it will be smashing him. ⁴⁵ And when the high-priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they knew that he is speaking concerning them. ⁴⁶ And seeking to take-hold of him, but they feared the crowds, since they were holding him up like a prophet.

³³ And he was speaking the word to them with many such parables, as they were able to hear it. ³⁴ But he was not speaking to them without a parable, but privately he was interpreting all things for his disciples.

¹⁰ But he said, It has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but it is in parables to the rest; in order that seeing, they may not see; and hearing, they may not understand.

¹⁶ But he said to him, A certain man made a great supper, and he invited many;

¹⁰ Listen, O daughter and consider and incline your ear. Forget also your own people and your father's house. ¹¹ So will the king desire your beauty, because he is your lord and bow to him. ¹² And the daughter of Tyre will adore him with a gift. The rich among the people will entreat your favor. ¹³ Inside, the king's daughter is all glorious. Her clothing is embroidered with gold.
¹⁴ She will be led to the king in embroidered work. The virgins, her companions who follow her, will be brought to you. ¹⁵ They will be led with gladness and rejoicing. They will enter into the king's palace. ¹⁶ Instead of your fathers will be your sons, whom you will make rulers in all the earth.

²⁴ He placed another parable with them, saying: The kingdom of the heavens is similar to a man who sows good seed in his field;

³¹ He placed another parable before them, saying: The kingdom of the heavens is similar to a kernel of a mustard-seed, which a man took and sowed in his field; ³² which indeed is least compared to all of the other seeds, but whenever it is grown, it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so-that the birds of the heaven come and nest in its branches.
³³ He spoke another parable to them: The kingdom of the heavens is similar to leaven, which a woman took and hid in three three-gallon containers of flour, until it was entirely leavened.

⁴⁴ Again, the kingdom of the heavens is similar to a treasure that has been hidden in the field; which a man found and hid, and he goes and sells all his things in his joy, as many things as he has and buys that field.
⁴⁵ Again, the kingdom of the heavens is similar to a man, who is a merchant, seeking beautiful pearls; ⁴⁶ who found one very precious pearl, went and sold all his things, as many things as he had, and bought it.
⁴⁷ Again, the kingdom of the heavens is similar to a dragnet, that was cast into the sea and gathered fish of every variety;

¹ Then the kingdom of the heavens will be similar to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went forth to the encounter of the bridegroom. ² Now five out of them were prudent and five were foolish. ³ Those who were foolish, having taken their lamps, took no oil with them; ⁴ but the prudent took oil in their containers with their lamps. ⁵ Now the bridegroom while he was delaying, they all slumbered and were sleeping. ⁶ But in the middle of the night, there has become an outcry, Behold, the bridegroom is coming! Go forth to the encounter of him. ⁷ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. ⁸ Now the foolish said to the prudent, Give us some oil from your oil, because our lamps are quenched. ⁹ But the prudent answered, saying, No, lest it might not be enough for us and you too, but rather, travel to those who sell and buy for yourselves. ¹⁰ But while going away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were prepared entered with him to the marriage-feast, and the door was locked. ¹¹ Later the rest of the virgins also came, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. ¹² But he answered and said, Assuredly I am saying to you, I do not know you. ¹³ Therefore watch, because you do not know the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.
¹⁴ For it is just-like a man, going-abroad, who called his own bondservants and gave to them his possessions.

¹⁶ But he said to him, A certain man made a great supper, and he invited many; ¹⁷ and he sent forth his bondservant in the hour of the supper to say to those who have been invited, Come, because all things are already prepared. ¹⁸ And they all, from one desire, began to excuse themselves. The first said to him, I have bought a field, and I have a necessity to go out and to see it; I request of you, have me excused.
¹⁹ And a different one said, I have bought five yoke of bulls, and I am traveling on to test them; I request of you, have me excused.
²⁰ And a different one said, I have married a wife, and because of this, I am not able to come. ²¹ And that bondservant came and reported to his lord these things. Then the householder, being angry, said to his bondservant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and lead the poor and disabled and lame and blind in here.
²² And the bondservant said, Lord, it has happened as you commanded, and there is still a place for more. ²³ Now the lord said to the bondservant, Go out into the roads and over the fences, and urge them to enter, in order that my house may be filled. ²⁴ For I am saying to you, that none of those men who have been invited will be tasting of my supper. For many are invited but few chosen.

²⁹ He who has the bride is the bridegroom, but the friend of the bridegroom, who is standing and hearing him, rejoices with joy because of the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore in this, my joy has been fulfilled. ³⁰ It is essential for that to grow, but for me to be diminished.

² For I am jealous over you with the jealousy of God; for I espoused you to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to the Christ.

²⁴ But just-like the congregation is subject to the Christ, so let the wives also be subject to their own husbands in all things.
²⁵ The husbands, love^*\'b0 your own wives, just-as the Christ also loved the congregation and gave himself up on her behalf; ²⁶ in order that he might make her holy, having cleansed her in the full-washing of the water in the word, ²⁷ in order that he might present her to himself, the glorious congregation, not having stain or wrinkle or any such things, but in order that she should be holy and unblemished. ²⁸ So the husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. ²⁹ For no one ever hated his own flesh, but is nourishing and cherishing it, just-as the Lord also does the congregation of believers; ³⁰ because we are members of his body, out of his flesh and out of his bones. ³¹ Because of this, a man will be leaving his father and mother and will be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. ³² This mystery is great, but I am speaking in regard to Christ and in regard to the congregation of believers.

⁷ We should rejoice and should be glad and should give the glory to him, because the marriage of the Lamb has come and his wife has prepared herself. ⁸ And it was given to her in order that she might dress herself in fine-linen, bright and clean; for the fine-linen is the righteousnesses of the holy-ones.
⁹ And he says to me, Write, the fortunate ones have been invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he says to me, These are true words of God.

¹³ As soon as you* have come into the city, you* will immediately find him before he goes up to the high place to eat. For the people will not eat until he comes, because he graces the sacrifice, and afterwards those who are bidden eat. Therefore now you* get up, for at this time you* will find him.

¹¹ The Lord gave the word. Great was the company of those who proclaimed it.

¹⁰ I am Jehovah your God who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.
¹¹ But my people listened not to my voice and Israel would have none of me. ¹² So I let them go after the stubbornness of their heart, that they might walk in their own counsels.

²⁴ Because I have called and you* have refused, I have stretched out my hand and no man has regarded, ²⁵ but you* have made all my counsel void and want none of my reproof, ²⁶ I also will laugh at your* calamity. I will mock when your* fear comes, ²⁷ when your* fear comes as a storm and your* calamity comes on as a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you*.
²⁸ Then they will call upon me, but I will not answer. They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me, ²⁹ because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of Jehovah.
³⁰ They wanted none of my counsel. They despised all my reproof. ³¹ Therefore they will eat of the fruit of their own way and be filled with their own devices.
³² Because the backsliding of the simple will kill them and the careless ease of fools will destroy them.

¹ Wisdom has built her house. She has hewn out her seven pillars. ² She has killed her beasts. She has mingled her wine. She has also furnished her table.
³ She has sent forth her maidens. She cries out upon the highest places of the city:

¹⁵ For thus said the lord Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel, You* will be saved in returning and rest. Your* strength will be in quietness and in confidence. And you* would not,

¹ Ho, everyone who thirsts, come you* to the waters. And he who has no money, come you*, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. ² Why do you* spend money for what is not bread and your* labor for what does not satisfy?
Listen diligently to me and eat you* what is good and let your* soul delight itself in fatness.

¹⁶ Jehovah says thus, Stand in the ways and see. And ask for the old paths where is the good way. And walk in it and you* will find rest for your* souls. But they said, We will not walk. ¹⁷ And I set watchmen over you*, saying, Listen to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not listen.

⁴ And Jehovah has sent to you* all his servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, (but you* have not listened, nor inclined your* ear to hear),

¹⁵ I have also sent to you* all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return now every man from his evil way and amend your* practices and do not go after other gods to serve them and you* will dwell in the land which I have given to you* and to your* fathers. But you* have not inclined your* ear, nor listened to me.

² The more the prophets called them, the more they went from them. They sacrificed to the Baals and burned incense to graven images.

⁷ And my people are bent on backsliding from me. Though they call them to him who is on high, none at all will exalt him.

⁷ Hold your peace at the presence of the lord Jehovah, for the day of Jehovah is at hand. For Jehovah has prepared a sacrifice. He has consecrated his guests.

² and saying, Repent; for the kingdom of the heavens has drawn near.

⁶ but travel rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. ⁷ Now while you are traveling, preach, saying, The kingdom of the heavens has drawn near.

³⁴ Now when the time of the fruits drew near, he sent his bondservants to the farmers, to receive his fruits.

³⁷ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who have been sent to her! How-often I willed to have gathered together your children in the manner a bird gathers together her brood under her wings, and you did not will it!

⁷ And he calls to him the twelve and began to send them out two by two, and he was giving them authority over the unclean spirits; ⁸ and he commanded them in order that they should take nothing for the journey, except only a staff; no knapsack, no bread, no brass coins in the belt; ⁹ but only tied on sandals, also do^\'b0 not clothe yourselves with two tunics. ¹⁰ And he said to them, Wherever you enter into a house, abide there until you should go from there. ¹¹ And as many as may not accept you, nor may not hear you, while traveling out from there, shake-off the dust which is underneath your feet for a testimony to them. Assuredly, I am saying to you, It will be more tolerable for Sodom or Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.

¹ Now having called the twelve together, he gave them power and authority over all demons and to heal diseases. ² And he sent them forth to preach the kingdom of God and to heal those who are sick. ³ And he said to them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staffs, nor knapsack, nor bread, nor silver; nor to have two tunics apiece. ⁴ And into whatever house you enter, remain there and then go forth from there. ⁵ And as many as may not accept you, when you go forth from that city, shake-off even the dust from your feet for a testimony against them. ⁶ Now going out, they were going throughout the villages, proclaiming the good-news and healing everywhere.

³⁴ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who have been sent to her! How-often I wished to have gathered together your children in the manner a bird gathers together her own brood under her wings, and you did not wish for it!

¹⁵ Now when someone from those who reclined at the meal together with him heard these things, he said to him, The fortunate one will be eating bread in the kingdom of God.
¹⁶ But he said to him, A certain man made a great supper, and he invited many; ¹⁷ and he sent forth his bondservant in the hour of the supper to say to those who have been invited, Come, because all things are already prepared.

²⁸ But he was angry and was not willing to enter and therefore his father came out and was pleading him.

²⁷ However my enemies, those men who did not wish that I should reign over them, lead them here and slaughter them before me.

⁴⁰ and you are not willing to come to me, in order that you may have life.

⁴⁵ But the Jews, having seen the crowds, were filled up from jealousy, and were contradicting the things being spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming him.

²¹ But he says to Israel, ‘The whole day, I outstretched my hands to a disobedient and contradicting people.’

²⁵ Beware that you do not renounce the one who speaks. For if those men did not flee when they renounced the one who divinely-warned them upon the earth, much more we may not flee who are turning away from him, who is from the heavens;

¹⁷ And the Spirit and the bride are saying, Come. And he who hears, let him say, Come. And he who is thirsty, let him come. He who wills, let him take the water of life freely.

¹⁷ and refused to obey, neither were mindful of your wonders that you did among them, but stiffened their neck. And in their rebellion they appointed a captain to return to their bondage. But you are a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abundant in loving kindness and did not forsake them.

⁵ Because you, Lord, are good and ready to forgive and abundant in loving kindness to all those who call upon you.

¹ Wisdom has built her house. She has hewn out her seven pillars. ² She has killed her beasts. She has mingled her wine. She has also furnished her table.

¹ I have come into my garden, my sister, my bride. I have gathered my myrrh with my spice. I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey. I have drunk my wine with my milk. Eat, O friends. Drink, yes. Drink abundantly, O beloved.

³⁶ Again, he sent other bondservants, more-than the first, and they did to them likewise.

⁸ Then he says to his bondservants, The wedding is prepared, but those who have been invited were not worthy.

¹ Now after these things, the Lord also delegated seventy others, and sent them two apiece into every city and place before his face, where he himself was about to go. ² Therefore he said to them, The harvest is indeed large, but the workers are few, therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest, that he should put out workers into his harvest. ³ Go, behold, I am sending you forth like lambs in the midst of wolves. ⁴ Bear no money-bag, no knapsack, no shoes, and greet no one on the road. ⁵ Now into whatever house you enter, say first, Peace is to this house. ⁶ And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon it, otherwise it will revisit you. ⁷ Now abide in that same house, eating and drinking from their things; for the worker is worthy of his wages. Do not proceed from house to house.
⁸ And into whatever city you enter, and if they accept you, eat such things as are placed beside you; ⁹ and heal the sick who are in it and say to them, The kingdom of God has drawn near to you. ¹⁰ But into whatever city you enter, and if they do not accept you, when you have gone out into its streets, say, ¹¹ Even the dust from your city, that was stuck to us, we wipe off at you. However, know this, that the kingdom of God has drawn near to you. ¹² I say to you, It will be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.
¹³ Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! Because if the miracles had happened in Tyre and Sidon, which have happened in you, they would have repented long-ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. ¹⁴ However it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment, than for you. ¹⁵ And you, Capernaum, who has been exalted to heaven. You will be stepping down to Hades. ¹⁶ He who hears you, hears me; and he who is rejecting you, rejects me; and he who rejects me, rejects the one who sent me.

¹⁷ and he sent forth his bondservant in the hour of the supper to say to those who have been invited, Come, because all things are already prepared.

⁴⁶ And he said to them, Thus it has been written, that it was essential for the Christ to suffer and to rise up from the dead in the third day; ⁴⁷ and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

⁵⁰ This is the bread which is coming down from heaven, in order that anyone may eat from it and may not die. ⁵¹ I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if anyone eats from this bread, he will be living forever and also the bread which I will be giving is my flesh, which I will be giving on behalf of the life of the world.
⁵² Therefore the Jews were quarreling with one another, saying, How is this one able to give us his flesh to eat?
⁵³ Therefore Jesus said to them, Assuredly, assuredly, I am saying to you, If you do not eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life in yourselves. ⁵⁴ He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has everlasting life and I will raise him up in the last day. ⁵⁵ For my flesh is truly food and my blood is truly drink. ⁵⁶ He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me and I in him. ⁵⁷ Just-as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father; so he who eats me, he will also be living because of me.

⁸ But you will be receiving power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be witnesses to me, both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the outermost parts of the earth.

¹⁹ Therefore indeed, those who were dispersed from the affliction which happened upon Stephen, went to Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except only to the Jews. ²⁰ Now there were some of them, men from Cyprus and Cyrene, who, having come into Antioch, were also speaking to the Grecian Jews, proclaiming the good-news of the Lord Jesus.

⁴⁶ But Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first be spoken to you. But since you are thrusting it away from yourselves and are judging yourselves unworthy of everlasting life. Behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

¹⁷ Now after three days Paul happened to call together those who are the foremost of the Jews and when they came together, he said to them, Brethren, I have done nothing adverse to the Jewish people or the customs of our forefathers. I, a prisoner from Jerusalem, was given up into the hands of the Romans. ¹⁸ The Romans who, having examined me, were planning to release me, because no crime exists worthy of death in me. ¹⁹ But the Jews were speaking against it, then I was urged to appeal to Caesar; not that I held anything of which to accuse my nation. ²⁰ Therefore, because of this accusation, I pleaded to see and to speak with you; for I am encompassed with this chain because of the hope of Israel.
²¹ But they said to him, We neither accepted writings from Judea concerning you, nor did anyone of the brethren come here and report or speak anything evil concerning you. ²² But we deem it worthy to hear from you what things you are mindful of; for indeed, concerning this sect, it is known to us that it is spoken against everywhere.
²³ Now having appointed him a day, they were coming to him, into the lodging in great number; to whom he was expounding the word, thoroughly testifying of the kingdom of God also persuading them with the things concerning Jesus, both from the Law of Moses and from the prophets, from morning until dusk. ²⁴ And some were obeying and some were disbelieving the things which were spoken. ²⁵ But when they disagreed among themselves, they were dismissing themselves after Paul had spoken just one declaration, The Holy Spirit spoke well through Isaiah the prophet to our fathers, ²⁶ saying, ‘Travel to this people and say, In hearing you will hear and yet may never understand, and seeing you will see and yet may never see; ²⁷ for the heart of this people has become-callous and they have selectively heard with the ir ears and they have closed their eyes. Lest, they should see with the ir eyes and should hear with the ir ears and should understand with the ir heart and should return and I will be healing them.’
²⁸ Therefore let it be known to you, that this salvation from God is sent to the Gentiles and they will be hearing it. ²⁹ And having said these things, the Jews went away, having much debate among themselves.
³⁰ Now Paul remained two whole years in his own rented-house and was accepting all who traveled to him, ³¹ preaching the kingdom of God and teaching the things concerning the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness, unforbidden by any.

³² Yet, he who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up on behalf of us all, how will he not also be granting to us all things together with him?

⁷ Cleanse out the old leaven, in order that you may be a new batch, just-as you are unleavened. For Christ our Passover has also been sacrificed on our behalf. ⁸ So-then we should celebrate a festival, not in old leaven, nor in the leaven of malice and wickedness, but in the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

¹⁴ And Lot went out and spoke to his sons in-law, who married his daughters and said, Up, you* get out of this place, because Jehovah will destroy the city. But he seemed as a man jesting, to his sons-in-law.

³⁴ And Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentils. And he ate and drank and rose up and went his way. So Esau despised his birthright.

²⁴ Yes, they despised the desirable land. They did not believe his word, ²⁵ but murmured in their tents and did not listen to the voice of Jehovah.

⁷ The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge. The foolish despise wisdom and instruction.

²⁴ Because I have called and you* have refused, I have stretched out my hand and no man has regarded, ²⁵ but you* have made all my counsel void and want none of my reproof,

²² And he who was sown among the thorns, this is he who hears the word, and the anxiety of this age and the deception of riches, choke the word and he becomes unfruitful.

³⁸ For just-as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and being betrothed, till the day that Noah entered into the ark, ³⁹ and they did not know until the flood came and took them all away; so the presence of the Son of Man will also be.

¹⁸ And they all, from one desire, began to excuse themselves. The first said to him, I have bought a field, and I have a necessity to go out and to see it; I request of you, have me excused.
¹⁹ And a different one said, I have bought five yoke of bulls, and I am traveling on to test them; I request of you, have me excused.
²⁰ And a different one said, I have married a wife, and because of this, I am not able to come.

²⁶ And just-as it happened in the days of Noah, so it will also be in the days of the Son of Man. ²⁷ They were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being betrothed, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. ²⁸ Likewise, even as it happened in the days of Lot; they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building; ²⁹ but in the day that Lot went out from Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. ³⁰ According to these things, it will be in the day that the Son of Man is revealed. ³¹ In that day, he who will be upon the housetop and has his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them up, and let the one who is in the field, likewise let him not turn behind for them. ³² Remember Lot’s wife.

¹³ But others sneering, were saying, They are full of new-wine.

²⁵ But while reasoning concerning righteousness and self-control and the future judgment which will be, Felix having become fearful, answered, Travel on now, and when I take the next opportunity, I myself will call you.

⁴ Or do you despise the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, being ignorant that the kindness of God is leading you to repentance?

⁶ For the mindset of the flesh is death, but the mindset of the Spirit is life and peace;

⁹ But those who are planning to be rich are falling into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful lusts, which are submerging men into utter-destruction and everlasting destruction. ¹⁰ For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils; of which some aspiring to, have been misled from the faith and they themselves are staked-through by many sorrows.

⁴ betrayers, rash, having been puffed up, loving sensual-delights rather than loving God;

³ how shall we flee, having neglected so-great a salvation, which having received at the beginning was spoken through the Lord, which was confirmed to us from those who heard it?

¹⁵ Do not love the world, nor the things which are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. ¹⁶ Because all the things which are in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the self-importance of life, are not from the Father, but are from the world.

¹⁰ Those who have been persecuted because of righteousness are fortunate, because theirs is the kingdom of the heavens. ¹¹ You are fortunate whenever they reproach and persecute you and say every evil word against you–lying, because of me. ¹² Rejoice and be glad, because your reward is much in the heavens; for thus, they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

¹² Now while entering into the house, greet it. ¹³ And if indeed the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it, but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. ¹⁴ And whoever did not accept you, nor heard your words, when you go forth from that house or that city, shake-off the dust from your feet. ¹⁵ Assuredly I am saying to you, It will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city.
¹⁶ Behold, I am sending you forth like sheep in the midst of wolves; therefore, become prudent like serpents and harmless like doves. ¹⁷ But take-heed, stay away from men; for they will be giving you up to councils, and they will be scourging you in their synagogues; ¹⁸ and you will also be led in front of governors and kings because of me, for a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.

²² And you will be hated by all men because of my name. But he who has endured to the end, this one will be saved. ²³ But whenever they persecute you in this city, flee into another; for assuredly I am saying to you, You may never complete the cities of Israel, until the Son of Man should come.
²⁴ A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a bondservant above his lord. ²⁵ It is enough for the disciple that he should become like his teacher and the bondservant like his lord. If they have called the householder Beelzebub, how much more the kinfolk!

³⁵ And then the farmers took his bondservants and whipped one, and killed one and stoned one. ³⁶ Again, he sent other bondservants, more-than the first, and they did to them likewise. ³⁷ But later he sent to them his son, saying, They will be revering my son. ³⁸ But the farmers, when they saw the son, said among themselves, This is the heir. Come-here. We should kill him, and we might hold-onto his inheritance. ³⁹ And having taken him, they cast him forth outside the vineyard, and killed him.

³⁴ Because of this, behold, I am sending to you prophets and wise men and scribes, and out of them you will be killing and will be crucifying, and some of them you will be scourging in your synagogues and will be persecuting from city to city, ³⁵ so that upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of Abel the righteous to the blood of Zechariah son of Barachiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. ³⁶ Assuredly I am saying to you, All these things will be coming upon this generation.
³⁷ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who have been sent to her! How-often I willed to have gathered together your children in the manner a bird gathers together her brood under her wings, and you did not will it!

¹⁹ If you were from the world, the world would love its own, but because you are not from the world, but I chose you out of the world, the world is hating you because of this. ²⁰ Remember the word which I said to you, A bondservant is not greater than his lord. If they persecuted me, they will also be persecuting you; if they kept my word, they will also be keeping yours.

² They will be expelling you from the synagogues. But the hour is coming, that everyone who kills you may think that he is offering divine service to God. ³ And they will be doing these things to you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.

¹ Now while speaking to the people, the priests and the magistrate of the temple and the Sadducees stood by them, ² being pained, because they taught the people and proclaimed the resurrection of the dead in Jesus. ³ And they put hands on them and placed them in jail to the next-day; for it was already dusk.

⁴⁰ Now they were persuaded by him, and having called the apostles to them, they whipped them, and commanded them not to speak in the name of Jesus and released them. ⁴¹ Therefore indeed, they were traveling from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were deemed worthy to be dishonored on behalf of the name of Jesus.

⁵¹ You are stiff-necked and non-circumcised in heart and ears. You are habitually defying the Holy Spirit, like your fathers, like you also! ⁵² Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who proclaimed beforehand God’s message concerning the coming of the Righteous One; of whom you have now become betrayers and murderers. ⁵³ You who received the law at the commandment from God’s messengers and did not observe it.
⁵⁴ Now hearing these things, they were being infuriated in their hearts and they were gnashing their teeth at him. ⁵⁵ But possessing the full ness of the Holy Spirit, he stared into heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, ⁵⁶ and said, Behold, I am viewing the heavens that have been opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God. ⁵⁷ But having cried out with a loud voice, they held their ears, and united, rushed upon him;

¹ Now Saul was consenting to the assassination of him.
Now there became a great persecution in that day upon the congregation which was in Jerusalem, and they were all dispersed throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.

¹⁴ For brethren, you became imitators of the congregations of God, which are in Judea in Christ Jesus, because you also suffered the same things by your own countrymen, just-as they did also by the Jews. ¹⁵ The Jews, who both killed the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and banished us, and were not pleasing to God, and are adverse to all men;

⁴⁹ Jehovah will bring a nation against you from far, from the end of the earth, as the eagle flies, a nation whose tongue you will not understand, ⁵⁰ a nation of fierce countenance, that will not regard the person of the old, nor show favor to the young, ⁵¹ and will eat the fruit of your cattle and the fruit of your ground, until you are destroyed, that also will not leave you grain, new wine, or oil, the increase of your cattle, or the young of your flock, until they have caused you to perish. ⁵² And they will besiege you in all your gates, until your high and fortified walls come down, in which you trusted, throughout all your land. And they will besiege you in all your gates throughout all your land, which Jehovah your God has given you.
⁵³ And you will eat the fruit of your own body, the flesh of your sons and of your daughters, whom Jehovah your God has given you, in the siege and in the distress with which your enemies will distress you. ⁵⁴ The man who is tender among you* and very delicate, his eye will be evil toward his brother and toward the wife of his bosom and toward the remnant of his sons whom he has remaining, ⁵⁵ so that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his sons whom he will eat, because he has nothing left to him, in the siege and in the distress with which your enemy will distress you in all your gates.
⁵⁶ The tender and delicate woman among you*, who would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye will be evil toward the husband of her bosom and toward her son and toward her daughter, ⁵⁷ and toward her young one who comes out from between her feet and toward her sons whom she will bear, for she will eat them secretly for want of all things, in the siege and in the distress with which your enemy will distress you in your gates.
⁵⁸ If you will not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and fearful name, JEHOVAH YOUR GOD, ⁵⁹ then Jehovah will make your calamities extraordinary and the calamities of your seed, even great calamities and of long continuance and severe sicknesses and of long continuance.
⁶⁰ And he will bring upon you again all the diseases of Egypt, which you were afraid of and they will cling to you. ⁶¹ Also every sickness and every calamity, which is not written in the book of this law, them Jehovah will bring upon you, until you are destroyed. ⁶² And you* will be left few in number, in that you* were as the stars of heaven for multitude, because you did not listen to the voice of Jehovah your God.
⁶³ And it will happen, that, as Jehovah rejoiced over you* to do you* good and to multiply you*, so Jehovah will rejoice over you* to cause you* to perish and to destroy you*. And you* will be plucked from the land where you go in to possess it.
⁶⁴ And Jehovah will scatter you among all peoples, from the one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth. And you will serve other gods there, which you have not known, you nor your fathers, even wood and stone ones.
⁶⁵ And among these nations you will find no ease and there will be no rest for the sole of your foot, but Jehovah will give you there a trembling heart and failing of eyes and pining of soul. ⁶⁶ And your life will hang in doubt before you and you will fear night and day and will have no assurance of your life. ⁶⁷ In the morning you will say, Would it were evening! and at evening you will say, Would it were morning! for the fear of your heart which you will fear and for the sight of your eyes which you will see. ⁶⁸ And Jehovah will bring you into Egypt again with ships, by the way of which I said to you, You will see it no more again. And there you* will sell yourselves to your* enemies for bondmen and for bondwomen and no man will buy you*.

⁵ Ho, Assyrian, the rod of my anger, the staff in whose hand is my indignation! ⁶ I will send him against a profane nation and against the people of my wrath. I will give him a charge, to take the spoil and to take the prey and to tread them down like the mud of the streets.
⁷ However he does not so reason, nor does his heart so think, but it is in his heart to destroy and to cut off nations not a few.

² Set up an ensign upon the bare mountain. Lift up the voice to them. Wave the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles. ³ I have commanded my consecrated ones, yes, I have called my mighty men for my anger, even my proudly rejoicing ones.
⁴ The noise of a multitude in the mountains, as of a great people! The noise of a tumult of the kingdoms of the nations gathered together! Jehovah of hosts is mustering the army for the battle. ⁵ They come from a far country, from the outermost part of heaven, even Jehovah and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.

²⁰ You are my battle-axe and weapons of war. And with you I will smash the nations and with you I will destroy kingdoms, ²¹ and with you I will smash the horse and his rider, ²² and with you I will smash the chariot and he who rides in it and with you I will smash man and woman and with you I will smash the old man and the youth and with you I will smash the young man and the virgin, ²³ and with you I will smash the shepherd and his flock and with you I will smash the farmer and his yoke of oxen and with you I will smash governors and deputies.

²⁶ And after the sixty-two weeks the anointed one will be cut off and will have nothing. And the people of the prince who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary and the end of it will be with a flood. And even to the end will be war; desolations are determined.

¹¹ And Jehovah utters his voice before his army, for his camp is very great. For he is strong who executes his word. For the day of Jehovah is great and very fearful and who can abide it?

²⁵ And I will restore to you* the years that the locust, the canker-worm and the caterpillar and the palmer-worm has eaten–my great army which I sent among you*.

² I will gather all nations and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat. And I will execute judgment upon them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations. And they have parted my land,

¹ Behold, a day of Jehovah comes when your spoil will be divided in the midst of you. ² For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle. And the city will be taken and the houses rifled and the women ravished and half of the city will go forth into captivity. And the residue of the people will not be cut off from the city.

⁴⁰ Therefore, whenever the lord of the vineyard comes, what shall he do to those farmers?
⁴¹ They say to him, He will evilly destroy those evil men, and will be renting the vineyard to other farmers, who will be giving to him the fruits at their seasons.

⁴² saying, If you had known in this day, even you, for-sure, the things which are for your peace! But now they were hidden from your eyes. ⁴³ Because the days will be coming upon you, and your enemies will put a military-barrier around you and will surround you, and will crowd you on every-side, ⁴⁴ and will be leveling you to the bedrock, and your children among you, and they will not be leaving in you one stone upon another stone, because you did not know the time of your visitation.

²¹ Then those who are in Judea, let them flee to the mountains, and those who are in the midst of her, let them vacate, and those who are in the region, do not let them enter in it.

²⁴ And they will be falling by the edge of the sword and will be captured into all the nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles should be fulfilled.

¹⁶ forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles in order that they might be saved; that they should always fill up their sins, but the wrath has arrived-unexpectedly upon them–to the end.

¹⁷ Because the time for judgment is to begin from the house of God, and if it begins first from us, what will be the end of those who are disobedient to the good-news of God? ¹⁸ And if the righteous one is scarcely saved, where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?

¹¹ Now into whatever city or village you enter, probe out who is worthy in it, and abide there until you should go. ¹² Now while entering into the house, greet it. ¹³ And if indeed the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it, but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.

³⁷ He who loves his father or mother above me is not worthy of me, and he who loves his son or daughter above me is not worthy of me. ³⁸ Now he who is not taking up his cross and following after me, is not worthy of me.

³⁵ But those who are deemed worthy into that world and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are they betrothed,

³⁶ Therefore, watch in every season, beseeching, in order that you might be deemed worthy to flee away from all the things which are about to happen, and to stand before the Son of Man.

⁵ This is an example of the righteous judgment of God; that you may be deemed worthy of the kingdom of God, on behalf of which you are also suffering;

⁴ But you have a few names in Sardis who did not defile their garments and they will be walking with me in white, because they are worthy.

¹⁴ The fortunate ones are practicing his commandments, in order that their authority will be in the Tree of Life and they may enter in by the gates into the city.

²⁰ Wisdom cries aloud in the street. She utters her voice in the broad places. ²¹ She cries in the chief place of concourse, at the entrance of the gates, in the city. She utters her words:
²² How long, you* simple ones, will you* love simplicity? And scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge? ²³ Turn back at my reproof. Behold, I will pour out my spirit upon you*. I will make my words known to you*.

¹ Does not wisdom cry out and understanding put forth her voice? ² She stands on the top of high places by the way, where the paths meet. ³ Beside the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors, she cries aloud:
⁴ To you*, O men, I call. And my voice is to the sons of men. ⁵ O you* simple, understand prudence, and you* fools, be of an understanding heart.

⁴ He who is simple, let him turn in here. As for him who is void of understanding, she says to him, ⁵ Come, eat of my bread and drink of the wine which I have mingled.
⁶ Forsake you* simpleness and live and advance in the way of understanding.

¹ Ho, everyone who thirsts, come you* to the waters. And he who has no money, come you*, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. ² Why do you* spend money for what is not bread and your* labor for what does not satisfy?
Listen diligently to me and eat you* what is good and let your* soul delight itself in fatness. ³ Incline your* ear and come to me. Hear and your* soul will live. And I will make an everlasting covenant with you*, even the faithful holy things of David.

⁶ Seek Jehovah while he may be found. Call you* upon him while he is near. ⁷ Let the wicked man forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts. And let him return to Jehovah and he will have mercy upon him and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

²¹ For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination. He shook the arrows to and fro. He consulted the household-idol. He looked in the liver.

¹⁵ And he said to them, When you travel into all the world, preach the good-news to all creation. ¹⁶ He who believes and is immersed will be saved, but he who disbelieves will be condemned.

⁴⁷ and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

⁴⁷ For so the Lord has commanded to us, saying, ‘I have placed you for a light of the Gentiles, that you should be for salvation to the outermost parts of the earth.’

⁸ This grace was given to me the least of all the holy-ones, to proclaim the good-news of the untraceable riches of Christ among the Gentiles;

³⁸ and the field is the world, and the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom, and the darnels are the sons of the evil one;

⁴⁷ Again, the kingdom of the heavens is similar to a dragnet, that was cast into the sea and gathered fish of every variety; ⁴⁸ which, when it was filled, having hauled it up upon the beach, and having sat down, they collected the good into containers, but they cast the rotten outside.

¹¹ But when the king came in to look at those reclining at the table, he saw a man there who has not clothed himself in wedding attire; ¹² and he says to him, Comrade, how did you come in here not having on your wedding attire? Now he was dumbfounded.

¹ Then the kingdom of the heavens will be similar to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went forth to the encounter of the bridegroom. ² Now five out of them were prudent and five were foolish.

¹⁰ But while going away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were prepared entered with him to the marriage-feast, and the door was locked.

⁹ Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not be inheriting the kingdom of God? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor pedophiles, nor homosexuals, ¹⁰ nor the greedy ones, nor thieves, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will be inheriting the kingdom of God. ¹¹ And some of you were these, but you were fully-washed, but you were made holy, but you were made righteous in the name of the Lord Jesus and in the Spirit of our God.

²¹ lest again when I come my God will humble me before you and I should mourn for many of those who have sinned before and have not repented upon the uncleanness and fornication and unbridled-lusts in which they practiced.

¹⁹ They went out away from us, but they were not from us; for if they had been from us, they would have remained with us, but they went out, in order that they might be made manifest that all of them are not from us.

¹⁴ But I have a few things against you, because you have there some holding-fast the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast an offense in the sight the sons of Israel, even to eat idol-sacrifices and to fornicate. ¹⁵ So you also have some holding-fast the similar teaching of the Nicolaitans.

²⁰ But I have this against you, that you are allowing your woman Jezebel, she who calls herself a prophetess, and she who is teaching and misleading my bondservants to fornicate and to eat idol-sacrifices. ²¹ And I gave some time to her, in order that she might repent, and she is not willing to repent from her fornication. ²² Behold, I cast her onto a bed and those who are committing adultery with her into great affliction, if they do not repent from her works. ²³ And I will be killing her children with death, and all the congregations will know that I am he who is searching the kidneys and hearts and I will be giving to you, each one according to your works.

⁹ And they are singing a new song, saying, You are worthy to take the book and to open its seals, because you were slaughtered and bought us in your blood for God out of every tribe and language and people and nation.

⁹ I saw and behold after these things, a large crowd, which no one was able to number, out of every nation and tribes and peoples and languages, standing in the sight of the throne and in the sight of the Lamb, having been dressed in white robes and palm trees in their hands;

⁶ And I heard as it was the voice of a large crowd and like the voice of many waters and like the voice of mighty thunders, saying, Hallelujah, because the Lord our God, the Almighty reigns.

²² And he said to him who was over the vestry, Bring forth vestments for all the worshipers of Baal. And he brought out for them vestments.

¹³ Inside, the king's daughter is all glorious. Her clothing is embroidered with gold.
¹⁴ She will be led to the king in embroidered work. The virgins, her companions who follow her, will be brought to you.

¹ Awake, awake, put on your strength, O Zion. Put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city. For hereafter there will no more come into you the uncircumcised and the unclean.

³ to appoint to those who mourn in Zion, to give to them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that he may be glorified.
⁴ And they will build the old wastes. They will raise up the former desolations and they will repair the waste cities, the desolations of generations and generations. ⁵ And strangers will stand and feed your* flocks and foreigners will be your* plowmen and your* vine-dressers.
⁶ But you* will be named the priests of Jehovah. Men will call you* the ministers of our God. You* will eat the wealth of the nations and in their glory you* will boast yourselves. ⁷ Instead of your* shame you * will have double and instead of dishonor they will rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they will possess double. Everlasting joy will be to them.
⁸ For I, Jehovah, love justice. I hate robbery with the burnt offering. And I will give them their recompense in truth.
And I will make an everlasting covenant with them. ⁹ And their seed will be known among the nations and their offspring among the peoples. All who see them will acknowledge them, that they are the seed which Jehovah has blessed.
¹⁰ I will greatly rejoice in Jehovah. My soul will be joyful in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation. He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

⁶ For we have all become as unclean and all our righteous acts are as a menstruation cloth. And we all fade as a leaf. And our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.

²² But you have utterly rejected us. You are very angry against us.

¹² And it will happen at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with lamps and I will punish the men who are settled on their lees, who say in their heart, Jehovah will not do good, nor will he do evil.

³ Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments and was standing before the messenger. ⁴ And he answered and spoke to those who stood before him, saying, Take the filthy garments from him. And to him he said, Behold, I have caused your iniquity to pass from you and I will clothe you with rich apparel.

¹² whose winnowing fan is in his hand, and he will be thoroughly cleansing his threshing floor, and he will be gathering his grain into the barn, but the chaff he will be burning up with unquenchable fire.

³⁰ Allow both to be grown together till the harvest, and I will be saying to the reapers in the time of the harvest, Collect first the darnels and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.

³¹ But whenever the Son of Man comes in his glory and all the holy messengers with him. Then he will be sitting upon the throne of his glory; ³² and all the nations will be gathered before him, and he will be separating them one from another, like the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats;

²² even the righteousness of God through faith of Jesus Christ toward all and upon all those who believe; for there is no distinction;

¹⁴ But clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not practice forethought for the lusts of the flesh.

⁵ So-then, do not judge anything before the time, until the Lord should come, who will both be illuminating the hidden things of darkness and will be manifesting the plans of the hearts, and then the praise from God will happen for each.

³ if actually in also having clothed ourselves, we will not be found naked.

²⁷ For as many as were immersed into Christ were clothed with Christ.

²⁴ and to have clothed yourselves with the new man, who was created according to God, in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

¹⁰ and have clothed yourselves with the new man, who is being renewed to the full knowledge according to the image of the one who created him; ¹¹ where there is no Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondservant, or free man, but Christ is all things and in all things.

¹² For the word of God is living and effective and sharper beyond that of any two edged sword and is penetrating till the division of both soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow and is a judge of the contemplations and deliberations of the heart. ¹³ And there is no created thing unapparent in his sight, but all things are naked and have been laid-bare to his eyes to whom is our account.

²³ And I will be killing her children with death, and all the congregations will know that I am he who is searching the kidneys and hearts and I will be giving to you, each one according to your works.

⁴ But you have a few names in Sardis who did not defile their garments and they will be walking with me in white, because they are worthy. ⁵ He who overcomes this, he will be dressed in white garments, and I will never wipe-away his name out of the Book of Life and I will confess his name in the sight of my Father and in the sight of his messengers.

¹⁸ I am counseling together with you to buy gold from me, having been refined out of fire, in order that you may be enriched, and in order that you should dress yourself with white garments and in order that the shame of your nakedness should not be manifested to all, and in order that you may anoint your eyes with eye-salve, in order that you may see.

¹⁵ (Behold, I am coming like a thief. The fortunate one is watching and keeping his garments, in order that he may not walk naked and in order that they may see his indecency.)

⁸ And it was given to her in order that she might dress herself in fine-linen, bright and clean; for the fine-linen is the righteousnesses of the holy-ones.

⁹ He will keep the feet of his holy ones, but the wicked will be put to silence in darkness, for by strength no man will prevail.

¹⁶ So a poor man has hope and unrighteousness stops her mouth.

⁴² The upright will see it and be glad. And all unrighteousness will stop her mouth.

²³ How can you say, I am not defiled; I have not gone after the Baals? See your way in the valley. Know what you have done, a swift dromedary traversing her ways,

²⁶ As the thief is shamed when he is found, so is the house of Israel shamed, they, their kings, their rulers and their priests and their prophets,

²⁰ For I am saying to you, that if your righteousness is not abounding more-than that of the scribes and Pharisees, you may never enter into the kingdom of the heavens.

¹³ But he answered and said to one of them, Comrade, I am not wronging you. Did you not agree together with me for a denarius?

⁵⁰ But Jesus said to him, Comrade, to what purpose are you here? Then they came and put hands upon Jesus and took-hold of him.

² and pilfered part of the price, his wife also having been conscious of it, and brought a certain part, laid it beside the apostles’feet. ³ But Peter said, Ananias, why has the Adversary filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to pilfer part of the price of the parcel of ground? ⁴ When it remained unsold, was it not remaining yours? And when it was sold, was it not still in your authority? Why did you purpose this matter in your heart? You have not lied to men, but to God. ⁵ But Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and expired, and there became great fear upon all those who heard these things. ⁶ Now when the younger-men stood up, they enshrouded him and carried him out and buried him.
⁷ Now it happened after an interval of approximately three hours, his wife also came in, not knowing what has happened. ⁸ But Peter answered her, Tell me if you were given so-much for the parcel of ground?
And she said, Yes, for so much.
⁹ But Peter said to her, Why is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door and they will be carrying you out. ¹⁰ Now she fell down instantly beside his feet and expired and the young-men came in and found her dead and they carried her out and buried her by her husband. ¹¹ Now there became great fear upon the whole congregation and upon all who are hearing these things.

²⁰ But Peter said to him, May your silver together with you be sent into destruction, because you have thought to procure the gift of God through monies! ²¹ You have neither part nor inheritance in this word, for this heart of yours is not straight in God’s sight. ²² Therefore repent from this, your malice, and beseech God; if, then, the deliberation of your heart will be forgiven to you. ²³ For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in the bond of unrighteousness.

¹⁹ Now we know how-much, as many things as the law says, it is speaking to those in the law; in order that every mouth may be sealed and all the world may become under the sentence of God;

¹¹ knowing that such a one has been perverted and is sinning, being self-condemned.

¹² The wicked man plots against the righteous man and gnashes upon him with his teeth.

¹⁰ A wicked man will see it and be grieved. He will gnash with his teeth and melt away. The desire of wicked men will perish.

²⁰ And he commanded certain mighty men who were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.

¹² but the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into the outer darkness–the weeping and the gnashing of teeth will be there.

²⁹ Or how is anyone able to enter into the house of the strong man, and plunder his goods, if he does not first bind the strong man? And then he will be plundering his house.

⁴² and will be casting them into the furnace of fire–the weeping and the gnashing of teeth will be there.

⁵¹ and will flog him, and will place his part with the hypocrites–the weeping and the gnashing of teeth will be there.

²⁸ The weeping and the gnashing of teeth will be there, whenever you^\'b0 see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves cast forth outside.

¹⁸ Assuredly, assuredly, I am saying to you, When you were younger, you were girding yourself and were walking where you were wishing to go, but whenever you are elderly, you will stretch out your hands and another will gird you and will be carrying you where you do not wish.

⁵⁴ Now hearing these things, they were being infuriated in their hearts and they were gnashing their teeth at him.

¹¹ And he came to us and took Paul’s belt, and having bound his own feet and hands, said, The Holy Spirit says these things, The Jews in Jerusalem will be binding thus the man whose belt this is, and will be giving him up into the hands of the Gentiles.

⁹ who will be suffering-punishment, the sentence of everlasting utter-destruction away from the face of the Lord, and away from the glory of his strength,

⁴ For if God did not spare messengers who sinned, but threw them into hell and gave them to restraints of blackness, being kept for judgment;

¹⁷ These people are waterless springs and clouds driven by a gale of wind to whom the blackness of darkness has been kept forever.

⁶ And the messengers who did not keep to their own principality, but having left their own house, he has kept to the judgment of the great day in eternal bonds under blackness.

¹³ wild waves of the sea, foaming out their own shames, misleading stars–for whom the blackness of darkness has been kept forever.

²⁷ And any desecrated thing or anyone practicing an abomination and a lie may never enter into it; except those who have been written in the Lamb’s Book of Life may enter into it.

¹³ Enter in through the narrow gate, because wide is the gate and broad is the way, which leads to destruction and there are many who are entering through it. ¹⁴ Why is it? Narrow is the gate and pressed is the way, which is leading to life and few are those who are finding it.

¹⁶ So the last will be first, and the first last; for many are invited but few are chosen.

²² And except those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved, but because of the chosen, those days will be shortened.

²³ Now someone said to him, Lord, if only those few are saved?
But he said to them, ²⁴ Struggle to enter in through the narrow gate, because I am saying to you, Many will be seeking to enter in and will not be strong-enough.

¹⁰ Hence brethren, be more diligent to make your calling and choice steadfast; for, you may never trip someday while practicing these things;

¹⁴ These will make war with the Lamb and the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those called and chosen and faithful with him.

² The kings of the earth set themselves and the rulers take counsel together, against Jehovah and against his anointed, saying,

⁶ And if he comes to see me, he speaks falsehood. His heart gathers wickness to itself. When he goes abroad, he tells it.

⁵ All the day long they pervert my words. All their thoughts are against me for evil. ⁶ They gather themselves together. They hide themselves. They mark my steps, even as they have waited for my soul.
⁷ Shall they escape by wickedness? Cast down the peoples, in anger, O God.

⁶ They have prepared a net for my steps. My soul is bowed down. They have dug a pit before me. They are fallen into the midst of it themselves. Selah.

³ Because behold, they lie in wait for my soul.
The mighty gather themselves together against me, not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O Jehovah.

²¹ who make a man an offender in his cause and lay a snare for him who reproves in the gate and turn aside the just with a thing of nothing.

¹⁸ Then they said, Come and let us devise devices against Jeremiah. For the law will not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come and let us kill* him with the tongue and let us not give heed to any of his words.

¹⁰ For I have heard the defaming of many, terror on every side. Denounce and we will denounce him, say all my familiar friends, those who watch for my fall. Perhaps he will be persuaded and we will prevail against him and we will take our revenge on him.

¹³ And they send to him some of the Pharisees and some of the Herodians, in order that they might catch him in his speech. ¹⁴ Now when they came, they say to him, Teacher, we know that you are true and do not care concerning one’s appearance. You do not look at the countenance of men, but teach the way of God in truth. Is it legal to give tribute to Caesar or not? ¹⁵ Should we give or should we not give?
But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them, Why are you testing me? Bring me a denarius, in order that I may see it. ¹⁶ Now they brought it. And he says to them, Whose face is this image and inscription?
Now they said to him, Caesar’s.
¹⁷ And Jesus answered and said to them, Give to Caesar the things which are Caesar’s and give to God the things which are God’s. And they marveled at him.

⁵³ Now while saying these things to them, the scribes and the Pharisees began terribly to hold everything against him, and to quiz him for unrehearsed answers concerning many things; ⁵⁴ plotting against him, seeking to trap him in something out of his mouth, in order that they might accuse him.

²⁰ And having observed him, they sent forth agents, who themselves pretended to be righteous, in order that they might grab him from his speech, that they might give him to the rule and the authority of the governor. ²¹ And they asked him, saying, Teacher, we know that you say and teach correctly, and do not accept the countenance of men, but in truth, are teaching the way of God. ²² Is it legal for us to give tax to Caesar or not?
²³ But he perceived their craftiness and said to them, Why are you testing me? ²⁴ Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription has it?
But they answered and said, Caesar’s.
²⁵ But he said to them, Now-then, give to Caesar the things which are Caesar’s, and to God the things which are God’s. ²⁶ And they were not strong-enough to grasp his declaration in front of the people, and they marveled at his answer and were silent.

³ For, study the one who has endured such dispute by sinners to himself, in order that you might not be weary, fainting in your souls.

⁹ who said of his father and of his mother, I have not seen him, neither did he acknowledge his brothers, nor knew he his own sons, for they have observed your word and keep your covenant.

¹⁴ And Micaiah said, As Jehovah lives, what Jehovah says to me, that I will speak.

²¹ Do not let me, I beseech you*, respect any man's person. Neither will I give flattering titles to any man. ²² For I do not know to give flattering titles, else my maker would soon take me away.

⁹ Because there is no faithfulness in their mouth. Their inward part is destruction. Their throat is an open sepulcher. They deceive with their tongue.

² They speak falsehood everyone with his neighbor. They speak with a flattering lip and with a double heart.

²¹ His mouth was smooth as butter, but his heart was war. His words were softer than oil, yet they were drawn swords.

⁵ A man who flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his steps.

¹³ transgressing and denying Jehovah and turning away from following our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.
¹⁴ And justice is turned away backward and righteousness stands afar off. For truth has fallen in the street and uprightness cannot enter. ¹⁵ Yes, truth is lacking and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey.
And Jehovah saw it and it displeased him that there was no justice.

³ And they bend their tongue–their bow–for falsehood and they have grown strong in the land, but not for truth. For they proceed from evil to evil and they do not know me, says Jehovah.
⁴ You* take heed each one of his neighbor and trust you* not in any brother, for every brother will utterly supplant and every neighbor will go about with gossipers. ⁵ And they will deceive each one his neighbor and will not speak the truth. They have taught their tongue to speak lies. They inwardly set up an ambush.

³⁰ And as for you, son of man, the sons of your people talk of you by the walls and in the doors of the houses and speak one to another, each one to his brother, saying, Come, I beseech you* and hear what is the word that comes forth from Jehovah.
³¹ And they come to you as the people come and they sit before you as my people. And they hear your words, but do not do them. For with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goes after their gain.

⁹ Hear this, I beseech you*, you* heads of the house of Jacob and rulers of the house of Israel, who abhor justice and pervert all equity. ¹⁰ They build up Zion with blood and Jerusalem with unrighteousness. ¹¹ The heads of it judge for a bribe and the priests of it teach for a wage and the prophets of it divine for money.
Yet they lean upon Jehovah and say, Is not Jehovah in the midst of us? No evil will come upon us. ¹² Therefore for your* sake Zion will be plowed as a field and Jerusalem will become heaps and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.

⁶ The law of truth was in his mouth and unrighteousness was not found in his lips. He walked with me in peace and uprightness and turned many away from iniquity.

⁹ Therefore I also have made you* contemptible and base before all the people, just-as you* have not kept my ways, but have had respect of persons in the law.

¹¹ How is it that you do not perceive that I did not speak to you concerning bread, but to take-heed, stay away from the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees? ¹² Then they understood that he did not say to take-heed, stay away from the leaven of bread, but stay away from the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

²⁴ saying, Teacher, Moses said, If anyone dies, having no children, his brother will marry his wife and will be raising up seed to his brother.

²⁶ likewise also the second and the third, until the seventh.

¹⁸ Now he said, Go into the city to a certain-person, and say to him, The Teacher says, My time is near. I will make the Passover with you at your house with my disciples.

⁴⁹ And immediately he came to Jesus and said, Hail, Rabbi. And he kissed him.

⁶ And the Pharisees went out and immediately were making a counsel against him with the Herodians, how they might destroy him.

¹⁵ And he ordered them, saying, Behold and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.

¹⁷ And while traveling toward the road, one ran up to him and knelt before him, and asked him, Good Teacher, what should I practice in order that I may inherit everlasting life?

¹⁴ Now when they came, they say to him, Teacher, we know that you are true and do not care concerning one’s appearance. You do not look at the countenance of men, but teach the way of God in truth. Is it legal to give tribute to Caesar or not?

⁴⁰ And Jesus answered and said to him, Simon, I have something to say to you.
But he says, Teacher, say it.

²¹ And they asked him, saying, Teacher, we know that you say and teach correctly, and do not accept the countenance of men, but in truth, are teaching the way of God.

¹⁸ He who speaks from himself is seeking his own glory, but he who is seeking the glory from the one who sent him, this one is true and no unrighteousness is in him.

⁶ Jesus says to him, I am the way and the truth and the life; no one is coming to the Father, except through me.

³⁷ Therefore Pilate said to him, Therefore are you not a king?
Jesus answered, You are saying that I am a king. I have been born to this end and I have come into the world to this end, in order that I might testify to the truth. Everyone who is from the truth hears my voice.

¹⁷ For we are not as the rest who are peddling the word of God, but as from sincerity, but as from God, in God’s sight, we speak in Christ.

² But we ourselves have scoffed at the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor adulterating the word of God, but by the manifestation of the truth, commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in God’s sight.

¹⁶ So-then from hereafter we know no one according to the flesh, but even if we have known Christ according to the flesh, but now we know him as such no more.

¹⁰ For am I now persuading men or God? Or am I seeking to please men? For if I was still pleasing men, I myself would not be a bondservant of Christ.

⁶ Now they did not contribute anything to me, that is from those of repute and from those reputed to be something (what sort of person they were previously, carries nothing of any-value to me; God does not accept the countenance of man).

⁴ But just-as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the good-news, so we are speaking; not as pleasing men, but it is God who tests our hearts.

¹⁷ But the wisdom which is from above is indeed first pure, thereafter is peaceful, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and non-pretended.

²⁰ Now we know that the Son of God has come and has given us perception, in order that we might know the true one and we are in the true one, that is, in his son, Jesus Christ. He is the true God and the everlasting life.

¹⁴ When you have come to the land which Jehovah your God gives you and will possess it and will dwell in it and will say, I will set a king over me like all the nations that are all around me, ¹⁵ you will surely set him king over you whom Jehovah your God will choose. You will set a king over you from among your brothers. You may not put a foreigner over you who is not your brother.

¹³ Be it known now to the king, that, if this city be built and the walls finished, they will not pay tribute, custom, or toll and in the end it will be hurtful to the kings.

²⁴ Also we certify to you*, that concerning any of the priests and Levites, the singers, gatekeepers, Nethinim, or servants of this house of God, it will not be lawful to impose tribute, custom, or toll, upon them.

⁴ There were also who said, We have borrowed money for the king's tribute upon our fields and our vineyards.

³⁷ And it yields much increase to the kings whom you have set over us because of our sins. Also they have power over our bodies and over our cattle, at their pleasure and we are in great distress.

² and said to Jeremiah the prophet, Please let our supplication be presented before you and pray for us to Jehovah your God, even for all this remnant, for we are left but a few of many, as your eyes do behold us, ³ that Jehovah your God may show us the way in which we should walk and the thing that we should do.

²⁰ For you* made your* own souls go-astray. For you* sent me to Jehovah your* God, saying, Pray for us to Jehovah our God and according to all that Jehovah our God will say, so declare to us and we will do it.

²⁵ He says, Yes.
And when he entered into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, What do you think, Simon? The kings of the earth, from whom do they receive taxes or tribute? From their sons or from the aliens?

¹ Now it happened in those days, a decree went out from Caesar Augustus to register all the inhabited-earth.

¹ Now in the fifteenth year of the government of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, and Herod being Tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip, Tetrarch of the region made up of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias being Tetrarch of Abilene,

¹² From this time, Pilate was seeking to release him, but the Jews were crying out, saying, If you release this one, you are no friend of Caesar. Everyone who makes himself a king speaks against Caesar. ¹³ Therefore when Pilate heard this word, he led Jesus outside and sat down upon the judicial-seat in a place called The Pavement, but in Hebrew, Gabbatha. ¹⁴ But it was the Preparation of the Passover and was approximately the sixth hour.
Now he says to the Jews, Behold, your King!
¹⁵ But they cried-out, Take him, take him, crucify him!
Pilate says to them, Shall I crucify your King?
The high-priests answered, We have no king except Caesar.

³⁷ After this one rose up Judas, a Galilean, in the days of the census and a considerable number of people withdrew after him. He also perished, and all, as many as were obeying him, were scattered.

⁷ whom Jason has accepted and all these practice things adverse to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is a different king, a Jesus.

⁸ Then Paul, making his defense, said, Neither against the law of the Jews nor against the temple nor against Caesar, have I sinned in anything.

²² But we deem it worthy to hear from you what things you are mindful of; for indeed, concerning this sect, it is known to us that it is spoken against everywhere.

⁶ For you are also paying taxes because of this; for they are ministers of God, persevering toward this same thing. ⁷ Therefore give to all, their dues: tribute to whom tribute; tax to whom tax; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor.

¹ And the Pharisees and Sadducees came, testing him, and asked him to show them a sign from heaven. ² But having answered, he said to them, When it becomes evening, you say, It will be fair-weather; for the heaven is red. ³ And in the morning, There will be a storm today; for the heaven is red and dismal. Hypocrites! You indeed know how to discern the face of the heaven, but you are not able to discern the signs of the times. ⁴ An evil and adulterous generation is seeking after a sign, and no sign will be given to it, except the sign of Jonah the prophet. And he left them and went away.

³ And the Pharisees came to him, testing him and saying to him, If it is legal to a man to divorce his wife according to every cause.

⁸ And immediately Jesus, having fully known in his spirit that they reason so in themselves, said to them, Why are you reasoning these things in your hearts?

⁵ And again, he sent another, and they killed him and many others, whipping some but killing others.

²² But Jesus fully knowing their reasonings, answered and said to them, What are you reasoning in your hearts?

⁴⁷ But when Jesus saw the reasoning of their heart, he took a little child and stood him beside himself,

²⁵ And behold, a certain professor of the law stood up, testing him and saying, Teacher, by having done what, will I be inheriting everlasting life?

²³ But he perceived their craftiness and said to them, Why are you testing me?

²⁵ and because he had no need that anyone should testify concerning man; for he himself knew what was in man.

⁶ But they were saying this thing, testing him, in order that they may have something to accuse him.
But Jesus stooped downward and with his finger was writing in the soil and making-like nothing was happening.

⁹ But Peter said to her, Why is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door and they will be carrying you out.

²⁸ But that bondservant went out and found one of his fellow bondservants who owed him a hundred denarii, and he took-hold of him, and was choking him, saying, Repay if you are owing me anything.

² And having agreed together with the workers for a denarius a day , he sent them into his vineyard.

⁶ And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, Liter containers of grain for a denarius and three liter containers of barley for a denarius, and do not hurt the oil and the wine.

²⁴ Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription has it?
But they answered and said, Caesar’s.

²¹ My son, fear Jehovah and the king and do not associate with those who are given to change.

¹⁶ Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. ¹⁷ If it is so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.
¹⁸ But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods, nor worship the golden image which you have set up.

¹⁰ And when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house (now his windows were open in his chamber toward Jerusalem) and he knelt upon his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he did formerly.
¹¹ Then these men assembled together and found Daniel making petition and supplication before his God.

²⁰ And when he came near to the den to Daniel, he cried with a lamentable voice. The king spoke and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is your God, whom you serve continually, able to deliver you from the lions?
²¹ Then Daniel said to the king, O king, live forever. ²² My God has sent his messenger and has shut the lions' mouths and they have not hurt me, inasmuch as before him innocence was found in me. And also before you, O king, I have done no harm.
²³ Then the king was exceedingly glad and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den and no manner of harm was found upon him, because he had trusted in his God.

⁶ A son honors his father and a servant his master. If then I am a father, where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is my fear? says Jehovah of hosts to you*, O priests, who despise my name. And you* say, How have we despised your name? ⁷ You* offer polluted bread upon my altar. And you* say, How have we polluted you? In that you* say, The table of Jehovah is contemptible.
⁸ And when you* offer the blind for sacrifice, you* say, It is no evil! and when you* offer the lame and sick, It is no evil! Present it now to your governor. Will he be pleased with you, or will he accept your person? says Jehovah of hosts.

⁸ Will a man rob God? Yet you* rob me. But you* say, How have we robbed you? In tithes and offerings. ⁹ You* are cursed with the curse, for you* rob me, even this whole nation. ¹⁰ Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house and prove me now with this, says Jehovah of hosts, if I will not open to you* the windows of heaven and pour you* out a blessing, that there will not be room enough for it.

¹⁰ Then Jesus says to him, Go behind me, Adversary! For it has been written, ‘You will worship the Lord your God and you will give-divine service to him only.’

²⁵ He says, Yes.
And when he entered into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, What do you think, Simon? The kings of the earth, from whom do they receive taxes or tribute? From their sons or from the aliens?
²⁶ And Peter says to him, From aliens.
Jesus said to him, Consequently, the sons are free. ²⁷ But in order that we might not offend them, you travel to the sea and cast a fishhook, and lift out the fish that ascends first, and when you have opened its mouth, you will find a four-denarii coin. Take that, and give it to them in exchange-for you and me.

³⁷ Now Jesus said to him, You will love the Lord your God in your whole heart and in your whole soul and in your whole mind.

² Now they began to accuse him, saying, We found this one perverting the nation and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, and saying that he himself is Christ, a king.

¹⁹ But Peter and John answered and said to them, Judge for yourselves if it is righteous in God’s sight to listen to you rather than to God.

²⁹ But Peter and the apostles answered and said, It is essential for us to obey God rather than men.

⁷ Therefore give to all, their dues: tribute to whom tribute; tax to whom tax; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor.

¹³ Therefore be subject to every human creation because of the Lord: whether to the king, as being superior to you; ¹⁴ or to governors, as they are sent through him for vengeance on evildoers and praise to the doers of good. ¹⁵ Because so is the will of God, doing good things to hush the ignorance of foolish men; ¹⁶ as free and yet not having your freedom as a cover-up of malice, but as bondservants of God. ¹⁷ Honor all men. Love^*\'b0 the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.

⁴ Do not answer a fool according to his folly, lest you also be like to him. ⁵ Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he is wise in his own conceit.

¹⁶ Behold, I am sending you forth like sheep in the midst of wolves; therefore, become prudent like serpents and harmless like doves.

³³ And when the crowds heard it, they were being astounded by his teaching.

⁴⁶ And no one was able to answer him a word, nor did anyone dare from that day forth to ask him anymore questions.

¹² And they were seeking to take-hold of him, and yet they feared the crowd. They knew that he spoke the parable to them and they left him and went away.

¹⁵ For I will be giving you a mouth and wisdom, which all who lay in opposition to you will not be able to stand against, nor to speak against.

¹⁰ And they were not strong-enough to stand against the wisdom and the Spirit by which he was speaking.

⁶ Let your speech always be in gratitude, having been seasoned in salt, that you may know how it is essential for you to answer each one.

⁷ But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his immersion, he said to them, Offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the future wrath?

⁶ Now Jesus said to them, Behold and take-heed, stay away from the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees!

¹⁸ And the Sadducees come to him, who say that there is no resurrection, and they asked him, saying, ¹⁹ Teacher, Moses wrote to us, If anyone’s brother dies and if he leaves a wife behind him and if he leaves no child, that his brother should take his wife and should raise up seed to his brother. ²⁰ There were seven brethren and the first took a wife and dying left no seed; ²¹ and the second took her and died, and left no seed, and the third likewise; ²² and the seven took her and left no seed. Last of all the woman also died. ²³ In the resurrection, whenever they rise up, whose wife will she be of them? For the seven had her as their wife.
²⁴ And Jesus answered and said to them, Are you not being misled because of this, by not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God? ²⁵ For whenever they will rise up from the dead, they neither marry, nor are they betrothed, but are like messengers the ones in the heavens. ²⁶ But concerning the dead, that they are raised; have you not read in the book of Moses, at the place concerning the bush, how God spoke to him, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob'? ²⁷ He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living. Therefore, you are much misled.

²⁷ Now some of the Sadducees came to him, those who contradict the resurrection–there is no resurrection; and they asked him, ²⁸ saying, Teacher, Moses wrote to us, in order that if anyone’s brother dies, having a wife, and this one should die childless, his brother should take the wife and should raise up seed to his brother. ²⁹ Therefore, there were seven brethren, and the first took a wife and died childless; ³⁰ and the second took the woman and this one died childless; ³¹ and the third took her, and likewise, the seven also left no children and they all died. ³² The woman also died later. ³³ Therefore in the resurrection, whose wife of them does she become? For the seven had her as wife.
³⁴ And Jesus answered and said to them, The sons of this world marry and are betrothed. ³⁵ But those who are deemed worthy into that world and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are they betrothed, ³⁶ for neither are they able to die anymore; for they are equal to the messengers, and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection. ³⁷ But that the dead are raised, even Moses divulged at the bush, as he calls the Lord, the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. ³⁸ Now he is not the God of the dead, but of the living; for all live to him.
³⁹ But some of the scribes answered and said, Teacher, you have said well.

⁴⁰ But they were not daring anymore to ask him anything.

¹ Now while speaking to the people, the priests and the magistrate of the temple and the Sadducees stood by them,

¹⁷ But the high-priest stood up and all those who were together with him (which is a sect of the Sadducees) and they were filled up from jealousy,

⁶ But when Paul knew that the one part were Sadducees and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men, brethren, I am a Pharisee, a son of a Pharisee. I am being judged concerning the hope and resurrection of the dead. ⁷ But when he said this, there became a dissension from the Pharisees and the multitude was split-apart. ⁸ (For the Sadducees indeed say that there is no resurrection, neither messenger nor spirit, but the Pharisees are confessing both.)

¹² Now if Christ is preached that he has been raised up from the dead, how are some among you saying that there is no resurrection of the dead? ¹³ But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised up; ¹⁴ and if Christ has not been raised up, consequently, our preaching is empty, your faith is also empty.

¹⁸ They have deviated concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection has happened already and are perverting the faith of some.

⁸ And Judah said to Onan, Go in to your brother's wife and perform the duty of a husband's brother to her and raise up seed to your brother.

¹¹ Then Judah said to Tamar his daughter-in law, Remain a widow in your father's house, till Shelah my son be grown up, because he said, Lest he also die, like his brothers. And Tamar went and dwelt in her father's house.

⁵ If brothers dwell together and one of them dies and has no son, the wife of the dead man will not be married outside to a stranger. Her husband's brother will go in to her and take her to him as a wife and perform the duty of a husband's brother to her. ⁶ And it will be, that the firstborn who she bears will succeed in the name of his brother who is dead, that his name is not blotted out of Israel.
⁷ And if the man does not want to take his brother's wife, then his brother's wife will go up to the gate to the elders and say, My husband's brother refuses to raise up to his brother a name in Israel. He will not perform the duty of a husband's brother to me.
⁸ Then the elders of his city will call him and speak to him. And if he stands and says, I do not want to take her, ⁹ then his brother's wife will come to him in the presence of the elders and loose his shoe from his foot and spit in his face. And she will answer and say, So it will be done to the man who does not build up his brother's house. ¹⁰ And his name will be called in Israel, The house of him who has his shoe loosed.

¹¹ And Naomi said, Turn again, my daughters. Why will you* go with me? Have I yet sons in my womb, that they may be your* husbands?

²¹ Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but he who is practicing the will of my Father, the one in the heavens.

¹⁶ And they send their disciples to him, with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that you are true and teach the way of God in truth, and do not care concerning anyone’s appearance; for you do not look at the countenance of men.

³⁶ Teacher, what is the great commandment in the law?

⁴⁶ Now why are you calling me, Lord, Lord and yet do not practice the things which I say?

²⁷ And inasmuch as it is laid up for men to die once but after this is the judgment;

¹⁴ Is anything too hard for Jehovah? At the set time I will return to you, when the season comes round and Sarah will have a son.

²⁵ But as for me I know that my Redeemer lives and at last he will stand up upon the earth. ²⁶ And after my skin, this body, is destroyed, then outside my flesh I will see God, ²⁷ whom I, even I, will see on my side and my eyes will behold and not as a stranger. My heart is consumed within me.

⁹ Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices. My flesh also will dwell in hope.
¹⁰ Because you will not leave my soul to Sheol, nor will you allow your holy man to see corruption.
¹¹ You made known to me the path of life. You will fill me of joy with your countenance.

¹⁵ As for me, I will behold your face in righteousness. I will be satisfied, when I awake, with your form.

¹⁴ They are appointed as a flock for Sheol. Death will be their shepherd and the upright will have dominion over them in the morning. And their beauty will be for Sheol to consume, that there is no habitation for it.
¹⁵ But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol, because he will receive me. Selah.

²⁵ Whom have I in heaven? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides you. ²⁶ My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart and my everlasting portion.

⁸ He will swallow up death in victory and the lord Jehovah will wipe away tears from all faces. And he will take away the reproach of his people from all the earth. For Jehovah has spoken it.

¹⁹ Your dead will live. My dead bodies will arise. Awake and sing, you* who dwell in the dust, for your dew is as the dew of herbs and the earth will cast forth the dead.

¹ The righteous man perishes and no man lays it to heart. And merciful men are taken away; none considering that the righteous man is taken away from the evil. ² He enters into peace. They rest in their beds, each one who walks in his uprightness.

¹⁷ Ah lord Jehovah! Behold, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for you,

² And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to everlasting life and some to shame and everlasting contempt. ³ And those who are wise will shine as the brightness of the expanse and those who turn many to righteousness as the stars everlasting and forever.

¹⁴ I will ransom them from the power of Sheol. I will redeem them from death. O death, where are your plagues? O Sheol, where is your sting? Repentance will be hid from my eyes.

³⁷ because every declaration from God will not be powerless.

⁴⁴ Now he said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you, being still together with you, that it is essential for all things to be fulfilled, which have been written in the Law of Moses and the prophets and the Psalms, concerning me. ⁴⁵ Then he opened their mind to understand the Scriptures.

⁹ (For they did not yet know the Scripture, that it is essential for him to rise up from the dead.)

⁸ Why is it judged as unbelievable with you, if God is raising the dead?

⁴ For as many things as were written beforehand were written beforehand for our instruction, in order that through the endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

²¹ He will fashion the body of our humbleness, that it may become transformed to the body of his glory, according to the working of which he is able to even subject all things to himself.

²⁰ Praise Jehovah, you* his messengers, who are mighty in strength, who fulfill his word, listening to the voice of his word.

⁷ Jehovah of hosts says thus: If you will walk in my ways and if you will keep my charge, then you also will judge my house and will also keep my courts and I will give you a place of access among these who stand by.

⁴³ Then the righteous will be shining out like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

¹⁰ See that you do not despise one of these little ones; for I say to you, that in the heavens their messengers are always looking at the face of my Father who is in the heavens.

³⁸ For just-as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and being betrothed, till the day that Noah entered into the ark,

²⁴ And Jesus answered and said to them, Are you not being misled because of this, by not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God? ²⁵ For whenever they will rise up from the dead, they neither marry, nor are they betrothed, but are like messengers the ones in the heavens.

²⁷ They were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being betrothed, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.

³⁴ And Jesus answered and said to them, The sons of this world marry and are betrothed. ³⁵ But those who are deemed worthy into that world and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are they betrothed, ³⁶ for neither are they able to die anymore; for they are equal to the messengers, and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.

²⁸ Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all who are in the tombs will be hearing his voice, ²⁹ and will travel out; those who have practiced good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment.

²⁹ But I am saying this, brethren, the time is limited, furthermore it is that both those who have wives may be as though they had none; ³⁰ and those who weep, as though not weeping, and those who rejoice, as though not rejoicing, and those who buy, as though not having; ³¹ and those who use this world, as though not making full use of it; for the fashion of this world is passing away.

¹ Behold what sort of love the Father has given to us, in order that we might be called children of God. Because of this, the world does not know you, because it did not know him. ² Beloved, we are now the children of God and it was not yet manifested what we will be. But we know that, if he is manifested, we will be similar to him, because we will be seeing him just-as he is.

⁹ And they are singing a new song, saying, You are worthy to take the book and to open its seals, because you were slaughtered and bought us in your blood for God out of every tribe and language and people and nation.
¹⁰ And you made them kings and priests to our God, and they will be reigning over the earth.
¹¹ And I saw and I heard a voice like that of many messengers in circle of the throne and the living creatures and the elders, tens of thousands of tens of thousands;

¹⁰ And I fell down before his feet to worship him. And he says to me, See that you do not do that. I am a fellow bondservant of you and of your brethren who are holding the testimony of Jesus. Worship God; for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

¹³ Now when you travel on, learn what is meant by, ‘I will to have mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

³ But he said to them, Have you not read what David did, when he himself was hungry and those with him;

⁷ But if you had known what is meant by this, ‘I will to have mercy and not sacrifice,’ You would not have sentenced the crimeless.

¹⁶ and said to him, Do you hear what they are saying?
But Jesus says to them, Yes. Have you never read, ‘You have matured praise out of the mouth of infants and nursing babies.’

⁴² Jesus says to them, Have you never read in the Scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, this has become the head of the corner; this has become from the Lord and it is marvelous in our eyes?

⁶ Moreover he said, I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look upon God.

¹⁵ And God said moreover to Moses, Thus you will say to the sons of Israel, Jehovah, the God of your* fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you*. This is my name everlasting and this is my memorial to all generations.
¹⁶ Go and gather the elders of Israel together and say to them, Jehovah, the God of your* fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac and of Jacob, has appeared to me, saying, I have surely visited you* and seen what is done to you* in Egypt.

³⁷ But that the dead are raised, even Moses divulged at the bush, as he calls the Lord, the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. ³⁸ Now he is not the God of the dead, but of the living; for all live to him.

³² I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. And the trembling Moses came, and was not daring to consider what it was.

¹⁶ But now they are aspiring for themselves to a better region, this thing is a heavenly one. Hence God is not ashamed of them, to be called their God; for he has prepared a city for them.

²⁸ And it happened, when Jesus had completed with these words, the crowds were being astounded at his teaching; ²⁹ for he was teaching them like one having authority and not like the scribes.

²² And having heard it, they marveled, and went away, leaving him.

² And when it became the Sabbath, he began to teach in the synagogue. And many hearing him were being astounded, saying, From where did this one receive these things? And what is the wisdom which has been given to this man? And how are such miracles happening through his hands?

¹⁷ And Jesus answered and said to them, Give to Caesar the things which are Caesar’s and give to God the things which are God’s. And they marveled at him.

⁴⁷ Now all who heard him were astonished at his intelligence and his answers.

²² And all were testifying of him, and were marveling at the words of favor which traveled from his mouth, and they were saying, Is this not Joseph’s son?

⁴⁶ The attendants answered, Never, has a man spoken thus, like this man.

⁵ The isles have seen and fear. The ends of the earth tremble, they draw near and come. ⁶ They help every man his neighbor and says to his brother, Be of good courage.
⁷ So the carpenter encourages the goldsmith, he who smooths with the hammer, he who slays the anvil, saying of the soldering, It is good and he fastens it with nails, that it should not be shaken.

¹⁴ But the Pharisees having gone out, took counsel against him, that they should destroy him.

³ Those who were foolish, having taken their lamps, took no oil with them; ⁴ but the prudent took oil in their containers with their lamps. ⁵ Now the bridegroom while he was delaying, they all slumbered and were sleeping.

²⁸ And one of the scribes came and heard them debating together, and knowing that he had answered them well, asked him, What commandment is the first of all?
²⁹ But Jesus answered, The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God, the Lord is one'; ³⁰ and ‘You will love the Lord your God from all your heart and from your whole soul and from your whole mind and from your whole strength.’This is the first commandment. ³¹ And the second is similar, ‘You will love your neighbor like yourself.’There is no other commandment greater than these.

⁴⁷ Therefore, the high-priests and the Pharisees gathered together a council and were saying, What are we doing because this man is doing many signs? ⁴⁸ If we allow him to continue so; all will believe in him. And the Romans will be coming and taking away both our place and the nation.
⁴⁹ But a certain one out of them, Caiaphas, being the high-priest of that year, said to them, You know nothing, ⁵⁰ nor are you reasoning that it is advantageous for us that one man should die on behalf of the people and that the whole nation should not perish.

²⁴ Now as both the magistrate of the temple and the priest heard these words and with the high-priests, they were perplexed concerning them and whatever had happened.
²⁵ But someone, having come, reported to them, Behold, the men, whom you placed in the prison yourselves, are in the temple standing and teaching the people. ²⁶ Then the magistrate went together with the attendants and led them, but without violence; for they were fearing the people (that they might not be stoned). ²⁷ Now having led them, they stood them in front of the council. And the high-priest asked them, ²⁸ saying, Did we command you with a strict command to not teach in this name? And behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and are planning to bring this man’s blood upon us.

²³ Now it happened at that time there was not just a small disturbance concerning the Way. ²⁴ For a certain man, Demetrius by name, (a silversmith making miniature silver temples of Artemis), was providing not just a small business to the craftsmen; ²⁵ whom he accumulated together the other workers of such things and said, Men, you know our prosperity is from this business. ²⁶ And you view and hear, that not only from Ephesus, but almost all of Asia, this Paul has persuaded and seduced a considerable crowd, saying that they are not gods, those born through man’s hands. ²⁷ But not only is this part for us in peril and it is to go into disrepute but also the temple of the great goddess Artemis is to be counted as nothing and her majesty is about to be demolished, what the whole of Asia and inhabited-earth is worshiping.
²⁸ Now having heard this, and having become full of fury, they were crying out, saying, Great is Artemis of Ephesus.

²⁸ crying out, Men, Israelites, help! This one is the man who is teaching all people everywhere, against the Jewish people and the law and this place, and even more, he led Greeks into the temple and has desecrated this holy place. ²⁹ For they were seeing Trophimus the Ephesian together with him among the city, whom they were supposing that Paul had led into the temple.
³⁰ Now the whole city was moved and there happened to be a running of the people together, and grabbing Paul, they were dragging him outside the temple and immediately the doors were locked.

¹⁸ But Jesus, having known their wickedness, said, Why are you testing me, you hypocrites?

² And having come to him, the Pharisees asked him, testing him, Is it legal for a man to divorce his wife?

³⁰ But the Pharisees and the professors of the law rejected the plan of God for themselves, having not been immersed by him.

²⁵ And behold, a certain professor of the law stood up, testing him and saying, Teacher, by having done what, will I be inheriting everlasting life?
²⁶ But he said to him, What has been written in the law? How do you read it?
²⁷ But he answered and said, ‘You will love the Lord your God from your whole heart and from your whole soul and from your whole strength and from your whole mind, and your neighbor like yourself.’
²⁸ But he said to him, You have answered correctly. Do this and you will live.
²⁹ But he, wishing to make himself righteous, said to Jesus, And who is my neighbor?
³⁰ But Jesus, having taken it in, said, A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who both stripped him and laid wounds on him. They went away, leaving him, being half dead. ³¹ But by coincidence, a certain priest was going down on that road, and when he saw him, he evaded him. ³² Now likewise, a Levite also happened to be in the place, when he came and saw him, he evaded him too. ³³ But a certain traveling Samaritan came to him, and having seen him, had compassion. ³⁴ And having come near to him, he bound up his trauma, pouring on them oil and wine, and having mounted him upon his own animal, led him to an inn and cared for him. ³⁵ And upon the next-day, going out, he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper and said, Care for him, and if you spend anything over that, I will be repaying you when I come back again. ³⁶ Therefore, which one of these three seems to have become a neighbor to the one who fell among the robbers?
³⁷ Now he said, He who did an act of mercy with him.
Therefore, Jesus said to him, Travel, and you, do likewise!

⁴⁵ Now someone from the professors of the law, answered and says to him, Teacher, you are also insulting us in saying these things.
⁴⁶ But he said, Woe also to you professors of the law! Because you are loading men down with unbearable loads, and you yourselves do not stroke the loads with one of your fingers .

⁵² Woe to you professors of the law! Because you took away the key of knowledge. You did not enter in yourselves, and you forbid those who were entering.

³ And Jesus answered and spoke to the professors of the law and Pharisees, saying, Is it legal to heal on the Sabbath?

¹³ Send Zenas, the professor of the law, and Apollos onward diligently in order that nothing may be deficient for them.

¹² I wrote for him the multitude of my law, but they are counted as a strange thing.

¹⁹ Therefore, whoever loosens one of these least commandments and may teach men to do so, will be called least in the kingdom of the heavens, but whoever practices and should teach them, he will be called great in the kingdom of the heavens. ²⁰ For I am saying to you, that if your righteousness is not abounding more-than that of the scribes and Pharisees, you may never enter into the kingdom of the heavens.

⁶ and then should never honor his father and mother, and thus you invalidated the commandment of God because of your tradition.

²³ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and yet have left behind the weighty things of the law: justice and mercy and faith. You ought to do these, and not to have left behind those other things. ²⁴ You blind guides, who strain out the gnat and swallow the camel!

²⁸ And one of the scribes came and heard them debating together, and knowing that he had answered them well, asked him, What commandment is the first of all?
²⁹ But Jesus answered, The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God, the Lord is one'; ³⁰ and ‘You will love the Lord your God from all your heart and from your whole soul and from your whole mind and from your whole strength.’This is the first commandment. ³¹ And the second is similar, ‘You will love your neighbor like yourself.’There is no other commandment greater than these.
³² And the scribe said to him, In truth, Teacher, you have said well that he is one, and there is no other except him; ³³ and to love him from the whole heart and from the whole intelligence and from the whole soul and from the whole strength and to love his neighbor like himself, is more-than all the whole burnt-offerings and sacrifices.

⁴² But woe to you Pharisees! Because you tithe mint and rue and every herb, and are passing over justice and the love of God. It was essential to have practiced these things and to not leave the other things undone.

⁵ And you will love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

¹² And now, Israel, what does Jehovah your God require of you, but to fear Jehovah your God, to walk in all his ways and to love him and to serve Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul,

⁶ And Jehovah your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your seed, to love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.

²⁹ But Jesus answered, The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God, the Lord is one'; ³⁰ and ‘You will love the Lord your God from all your heart and from your whole soul and from your whole mind and from your whole strength.’This is the first commandment.

³³ and to love him from the whole heart and from the whole intelligence and from the whole soul and from the whole strength and to love his neighbor like himself, is more-than all the whole burnt-offerings and sacrifices.

²⁷ But he answered and said, ‘You will love the Lord your God from your whole heart and from your whole soul and from your whole strength and from your whole mind, and your neighbor like yourself.’

⁷ because the mindset of the flesh is hostility toward God; for it is not subject to the law of God, for neither is it able to be;

¹⁶ ‘This is the covenant that I will covenant for them after those days, says the Lord, I will be giving my laws upon their hearts and I will write them upon their minds.’ ¹⁷ And ‘I may never remember their sins and their lawlessness anymore.’

² We know in this that we love the children of God, whenever we love God and whenever we are keeping his commandments. ³ For this is the love of God, in order that we should keep his commandments and his commandments are not burdensome. ⁴ Because everyone who has been born from God overcomes the world and this is the victory, our faith, that has overcome the world. ⁵ Who is he who overcomes the world, if not he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

¹⁸ You will not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you will love your neighbor as yourself. I am Jehovah.
¹⁹ Honor your father and mother.

³¹ And the second is similar, ‘You will love your neighbor like yourself.’There is no other commandment greater than these.

⁹ For the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery; Do not murder; Do not steal; Do not covet, and if there is some other commandment in this word, it is summed up in the commandment : ‘You will love your neighbor like yourself.’ ¹⁰ Love works no evil to ward his neighbor. Therefore, love is the fulfillment of the law.

² Let each of us please his neighbor for what is the good thing toward building him up.

¹⁴ For all the law is fulfilled in one word, in this: ‘You will love your neighbor like yourself.’

¹⁰ Therefore consequently, as we have opportunity, we should work what is the good thing toward all men but especially in the household of the faith.

⁸ Nevertheless, if you complete the royal law, according to the Scripture, ‘You will love your neighbor like yourself,’you are doing well.

¹² Therefore, all things, as many as you would wish that men should do for you, so do also to them; for this is the law and the prophets.

¹⁷ Because the law was given through Moses; the favor and the truth became through Jesus Christ.

¹⁹ Now we know how-much, as many things as the law says, it is speaking to those in the law; in order that every mouth may be sealed and all the world may become under the sentence of God; ²⁰ because no flesh will be made righteous in his sight from the works of the law; for through the law comes the full knowledge of sin.
²¹ But now the righteousness of God has been manifested separate from the law, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

⁹ For the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery; Do not murder; Do not steal; Do not covet, and if there is some other commandment in this word, it is summed up in the commandment : ‘You will love your neighbor like yourself.’

⁵ But the end of the command is love out of a clean heart and a good conscience and a non-pretended faith;

⁷ Beloved, we should love one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born from God and knows God. ⁸ He who does not love, does not know God, because God is love. ⁹ In this, the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent his only begotten Son into the world in order that we might live through him. ¹⁰ In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atonement on behalf of our sins. ¹¹ Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

¹⁹ We love him, because he loved us first. ²⁰ If anyone say, I love God and then should hate his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, how is he able to love God, whom he has not seen? ²¹ And we have this commandment from him, in order that he who loves God should also love his brother.

¹⁵ Then the Pharisees traveled away and took counsel on how they might ensnare him in his speech.

³⁴ But the Pharisees, having heard that he had hushed the Sadducees, were gathered together on the same ground.

³⁵ And Jesus answered and said, while teaching in the temple, How is it that the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David? ³⁶ David himself said in the Holy Spirit, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, until I should place your enemies as the footstool of your feet.’ ³⁷ Therefore David himself calls him Lord, and is he his son? From where? And the large crowd was gladly hearing him.

⁴¹ Now he said to them, How is it that they say the Christ is David’s son? ⁴² And David himself says in the book of Psalms, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, ⁴³ until I should place your enemies as the footstool of your feet. ⁴⁴ Therefore, David calls him Lord, and so how is he his son?

¹³ And he said, Hear now, O house of David. Is it a small thing for you* to weary men, that you* will weary my God also?
¹⁴ Therefore the Lord himself will give you* a sign: Behold, a virgin will conceive and bear a son and will call his name Immanuel.

⁶ For to us a child is born, to us a son is given. And the government will be upon his shoulder. And his name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace.
⁷ Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and upon his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from hereafter until everlasting. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this.

¹ And there will come out a shoot out of the stock of Jesse. And a branch out of his roots will bear fruit. ² And the Spirit of Jehovah will rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Jehovah. ³ And his delight will be in the fear of Jehovah. And he will not judge according to the sight of his eyes, nor decide according to the hearing of his ears, ⁴ but with righteousness he will judge the poor and decide with equity for the meek of the earth.
And he will kill* the earth with the rod of his mouth and with the breath of his lips he will kill the wicked.

⁵ Behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that I will raise to David a righteous Branch and he will reign as king and deal wisely and will execute justice and righteousness in the land. ⁶ In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will dwell safely. And this is his name by which he will be called: Jehovah our righteousness.

²³ And I will set up one shepherd over them and he will feed them, even my servant David. He will feed them and he will be their shepherd. ²⁴ And I, Jehovah, will be their God and my servant David ruler among them. I, Jehovah, have spoken it.

¹¹ In that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David that has fallen and close up the breaches of it. And I will raise up its ruins and I will build it as in the days of old,

The book of lineage of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham:

⁴ And having gathering together all the high-priests and scribes of the people, he inquired from them where the Christ should be born.
⁵ Now they said to him, In Bethlehem of Judea; for thus it has been written through the prophet, ⁶ ‘And Bethlehem, a land of Judah, you are by no means least among the governors of Judah; for a leader will be coming forth from you, who will be shepherding my people Israel.’

²⁷ And Jesus passing by from there, two blind men followed him, crying out and saying, Show-mercy to us, son of David.

³³ Now those in the ship came to him and, worshiped him, saying, You are truly the Son of God.

¹³ Now when Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Who do men say the Son of Man is?
¹⁴ Now they said, Some say John the Immerser; others, Elijah, and others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.
¹⁵ He says to them, But who do you say that I am?
¹⁶ Now Simon Peter answered and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.
¹⁷ And Jesus answered and said to him, You are fortunate, Simon, Son of Jonah, because flesh and blood has not revealed it to you, but my Father, the one in the heavens.

⁹ Now the crowds who precede him and who are following him, were crying, saying, ‘Hosanna to the son of David. He who is coming in the name of the Lord has been blessed.’Hosanna in the highest.’

⁶⁹ and has lifted up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his young-servant David, ⁷⁰ (just-as he spoke through the mouth of his holy prophets that have been from the ages past).

⁴⁹ Nathanael answered and says to him, Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel.

⁶⁸ Therefore Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom will we go? You have the words of everlasting life. ⁶⁹ And we have believed and have known that you are the Christ the Son of the living God.

⁴¹ Others were saying, This is the Christ. Others were saying, The Christ does not come out of Galilee, does he? ⁴² Did the Scripture not say that the Christ comes out of the seed of David and from Bethlehem, the village where David was?

²⁸ And Thomas answered and said to him, My Lord and my God!

²² And having removed him, he lifted up David to be king to them; to whom he also testified and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man according to my own heart, who will be practicing all my will.
²³ God brought salvation to Israel from the seed of this man David, according to promise,

⁹ Hence, God also highly exalted him, and granted to him the name which is above every name; ¹⁰ in order that every knee should bow in the name of Jesus, those from the heavenly and earthly and subterranean places, ¹¹ and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

⁷ But what things were gains for me, I have deemed these a forfeiture because of the Christ. ⁸ But therefore, I am also deeming all things indeed to be a forfeiture because of the superiority of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, because of whom, I forfeited all things, and am deeming them to be but trash, in order that I may gain Christ, ⁹ and may be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own, which is from the law, but which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is from God on the faith, ¹⁰ that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being transformed to his death; ¹¹ where there is no Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondservant, or free man, but Christ is all things and in all things.

⁴ coming to whom is a living stone, having indeed been rejected by men, but chosen and precious with God. ⁵ You, yourselves, like living stones, are also built up as a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. ⁶ Because it is contained in the Scripture, ‘Behold, I place in Zion, a cornerstone, chosen and precious, and the one who believes on him may never be ashamed.’ ⁷ Therefore, to those who believe is the honor, but to the disobedient, ‘ The stone which the builders rejected, this became to them the head of the corner';

¹² saying in a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb who has been slaughtered to receive the power and the riches, and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and thanks. ¹³ And every created thing which is in the heaven and upon the earth and underneath the earth and upon the sea and all things in them, I heard saying, To the one who is sitting upon the throne and to the Lamb, is the thanks and the honor and the glory and the dominion, forevermore. Amen.
¹⁴ And the four living creatures are saying the amen; and the elders fell down and worshiped him.

² The Spirit of Jehovah spoke by me and his word was upon my tongue.

³⁶ David himself said in the Holy Spirit, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, until I should place your enemies as the footstool of your feet.’

²⁶ And it was divinely-spoken to him from the Holy Spirit, that he should not see death, before he should see the Lord’s Christ. ²⁷ And he came in the Spirit into the temple, while the parents brought in the child Jesus, that they might do according to the custom of the law concerning him.

¹⁶ Brethren, it was essential that this Scripture might be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit said beforehand through the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who took Jesus,

³⁰ Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that from the fruit of his loins, to raise up the Christ according to the flesh to sit upon his throne. ³¹ Foreseeing this, he spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that neither was his soul left to Hades, nor did his flesh see decay.

⁷ Hence, as the Holy Spirit says, ‘Today if you hear his voice,

²¹ For no prophecy was ever brought about by the will of man, but the holy men of God spoke the word being carried by the Holy Spirit.

¹⁰ I became in the spirit on the Lord’s day and I heard behind me a loud voice, like that of a trumpet

² And immediately I became in the spirit and behold, a throne was placed in heaven, and sitting upon the throne

¹⁵ And I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed. He will bruise your head and you will bruise his heel.

⁸ Ask of me and I will give you the nations as your inheritance and the outermost parts of the earth as your possession. ⁹ You will smash them with a rod of iron, you will dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

⁹ You will make them as a fiery furnace in the time of your anger. Jehovah will swallow them up in his wrath and the fire will devour them.

¹ Jehovah says to my Lord, Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool.

¹ Who is this who comes from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah, this who is glorious in his apparel, marching in the greatness of his strength? I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save.
² Why are you red in your apparel and your garments like he who treads in the wine vat? ³ I have trodden the winepress alone and of the peoples there was no man with me. Yes, I trod them in my anger and trampled them in my wrath and their lifeblood is sprinkled upon my garments and I have stained all my garments. ⁴ For the day of vengeance was in my heart and the year of my redeemed has come.
⁵ And I looked and there was none to help. And I wondered that there was none to uphold. Therefore my own arm brought salvation to me. And my wrath, it upheld me. ⁶ And I trod down the peoples in my anger and made them drunk in my wrath and I poured out their lifeblood on the earth.

³⁴ For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, ³⁵ until I should place your enemies as the footstool of your feet.’

² to the congregation of God which is in Corinth–those who have been made holy in Christ Jesus, called ones, holy-ones, together with all who are calling upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, both theirs and ours:

²⁵ For it is essential for him to reign, till whenever, he should place all his enemies under his feet.

⁸ But therefore, I am also deeming all things indeed to be a forfeiture because of the superiority of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, because of whom, I forfeited all things, and am deeming them to be but trash, in order that I may gain Christ,

³ It is he who, being the brightness of his glory and the exact representation of his essence, and is carrying all things by his declaration of power. Having made a cleansing of our sins through himself, he sat down by the right hand of the Majesty in the high place;

¹³ But toward which of the messengers has he previously said, ‘Sit at my right hand, until I should place your enemies as the footstool of your feet?

¹² But having offered one continual sacrifice on behalf of sins, he sat down at the right hand of God; ¹³ furthermore waiting until his enemies should be placed under the footstool of his feet.

² Looking away from things, look toward Jesus, the author and completer of the faith, who endured the cross having despised shame, in exchange-for the joy laying before him, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

¹⁹ And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies, have been gathered together to make a war with the one who sits upon the horse and with his army.

¹¹ And I saw a great white throne and the one who sits upon it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away, and no place was found for them. ¹² And I saw the dead, the greatest and the least, standing in the sight of the throne, and books were opened and another book was opened, which is the Book of Life and the dead were judged out of the things which have been written in the books, according to their works. ¹³ And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them and they were judged each one according to their works. ¹⁴ And death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, which is the lake of fire. ¹⁵ And if anyone was not found, having been written in the Book of Life, he was cast into the lake of fire.

⁵⁸ Jesus said to them, Assuredly, assuredly, I am saying to you, Before Abraham was born, I am.

³ concerning his Son, (who was born from the seed of David according to the flesh, ⁴ who has been determined as being the Son of God in power, according to the spirit of holiness, out of the resurrection of the dead), Jesus Christ our Lord.

⁵ whose are the fathers and from whom is the Christ according to the flesh, who is over all: God is gracious forever. Amen.

⁶ who, existing in the form of God, did not deem it a seizure to be equal to God, ⁷ but emptied himself, having taken the form of a bondservant, having become in the likeness of men; ⁸ and having been found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, having become obedient as far as death, and even death from a cross.

¹⁶ And confessedly great is the mystery of godliness : God was manifested in the flesh, was made righteous in the Spirit, was seen by messengers, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was received up in glory.

¹⁴ Therefore since the children have shared of flesh and blood, in like-manner he partook of the same; in order that through death, he might do-away-with the one who had the dominion of death, this is the devil;

¹⁶ I, Jesus, have sent my messenger to testify to you these things in the congregations. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright morning star.

¹⁵ They are amazed, they answer no more. They have not a word to say.
¹⁶ And shall I wait because they do not speak, because they stand still and answer no more?

² Why, when I came, was there no man? When I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea. I make the rivers a wilderness. Their fish stink because there is no water and die for thirst. ³ I clothe the heavens with blackness and I make sackcloth their covering.
⁴ The lord Jehovah has given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain with words he who is weary. He awakens morning by morning. He awakens my ear to hear as those who are taught. ⁵ The lord Jehovah has opened my ear and I was not rebellious, nor turned away backward. ⁶ I gave my back to the strikers and my cheeks to those who plucked off the hair. I did not hide my face from shame and spitting. ⁷ For the lord Jehovah will help me.
Therefore I have not been confounded. Therefore I have set my face like a flint and I know that I will not be put to shame. ⁸ He is near who justifies me. Who will contend with me? Let us stand up together. Who is my adversary? Let him come near to me. ⁹ Behold, the lord Jehovah will help me. Who is he who will condemn me? Behold, all they will grow old as a garment; the moth will eat them up.

²⁷ And they answered Jesus and said, We do not know.
He also said to them, Nor do I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.

³⁴ And when Jesus saw that he answered with perception, he said to him, You are not far from the kingdom of God. And no one was daring enough to ask him anymore.

¹⁷ And while saying these things, all those who laid in opposition to him were being shamed, and all the crowd was rejoicing at all the glorious things which happened by him.

⁶ And they are not strong-enough to answer back to him as to these things.

⁴⁰ But they were not daring anymore to ask him anything.

⁷ Now as they were remaining, asking him, he stood-erect and said to them, The sinless one among you, let him cast the first stone upon her. ⁸ And again he stooped downward and was writing in the soil.
⁹ Now when they heard it, being convicted by their conscience, they were going out one by one, having begun from the elder ones and Jesus was being left alone, and the woman being in his midst.

¹⁴ But seeing the man who has been healed, standing together with them, they had nothing to speak against it.
