⁵ And these are the names of the men who will stand with you*. Of Reuben: Elizur the son of Shedeur.

³² And Leah conceived and bore a son and she called his name Reuben. For she said, Because Jehovah has looked upon my affliction, because now my husband will love me.
³³ And she conceived again and bore a son and said, Because Jehovah has heard that I am hated, he has therefore given me this son also. And she called his name Simeon.
³⁴ And she conceived again and bore a son and said, Now this time my husband will be joined to me, because I have borne him three sons. Therefore his name was called Levi.
³⁵ And she conceived again and bore a son. And she said, This time I will praise Jehovah. Therefore she called his name Judah. And she left off bearing.

⁵ And Bilhah conceived and bore Jacob a son. ⁶ And Rachel said, God has judged me and has also heard my voice and has given me a son. Therefore she called his name Dan.
⁷ And Bilhah Rachel's handmaid conceived again and bore Jacob a second son. ⁸ And Rachel said, With mighty wrestlings have I wrestled with my sister and I have indeed prevailed. And she called his name Naphtali.
⁹ When Leah saw that she had left off bearing, she took Zilpah her handmaid and gave her to Jacob as a wife. ¹⁰ And Zilpah Leah's handmaid bore Jacob a son. ¹¹ And Leah said, Good-fortune! And she called his name Gad.
¹² And Zilpah Leah's handmaid bore Jacob a second son. ¹³ And Leah said, I am fortunate! For the daughters will call me fortunate. And she called his name Asher.
¹⁴ And Reuben went in the days of wheat harvest and found love-apples in the field and brought them to his mother Leah. Then Rachel said to Leah, I beseech you, give me from your son's love-apples.
¹⁵ And she said to her, Is it a small matter that you have taken away my husband? And would you take away my son's love-apples also?
And Rachel said, Therefore he may lie with you tonight for your son's love-apples.
¹⁶ And Jacob came from the field in the evening and Leah went out to meet him and said, You must come in to me, because I have surely hired you with my son's love-apples. And he lay with her that night.
¹⁷ And God listened to Leah and she conceived and bore Jacob a fifth son. ¹⁸ And Leah said, God has given me my hire, because I gave my handmaid to my husband. And she called his name Issachar.
¹⁹ And Leah conceived again and bore a sixth son to Jacob. ²⁰ And Leah said, God has endowed me with a good endowment. Now my husband will dwell with me, because I have borne him six sons. And she called his name Zebulun.

¹⁷ And it happened, when she was in hard labor, that the midwife said to her, Do not fear, now you will have another son. ¹⁸ And it happened, as her soul was departing (for she died), that she called his name Ben-oni.
¹⁹ And Rachel died and was buried on the way to Ephrath (what is Bethlehem). ²⁰ And Jacob set up a pillar upon her grave, the same is the Pillar of Rachel's grave to this day.
²¹ And Israel traveled and spread his tent beyond the tower of Eder. ²² And it happened, while Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine and Israel heard of it.
Now the sons of Jacob were twelve. ²³ The sons of Leah were : Reuben, Jacob's firstborn and Simeon and Levi and Judah and Issachar and Zebulun. ²⁴ The sons of Rachel were : Joseph and Benjamin. ²⁵ And the sons of Bilhah, Rachel's handmaid were : Dan and Naphtali. ²⁶ And the sons of Zilpah, Leah's handmaid were : Gad and Asher. These are the sons of Jacob, who were born to him in Paddan-aram.

⁸ And these are the names of the sons of Israel, who came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob's firstborn. ⁹ And the sons of Reuben were : Hanoch and Pallu and Hezron and Carmi. ¹⁰ And the sons of Simeon were : Jemuel and Jamin and Ohad and Jachin and Zohar and Shaul the son of a Canaanite woman. ¹¹ And the sons of Levi were : Gershon, Kohath and Merari. ¹² And the sons of Judah were : Er and Onan and Shelah and Perez and Zerah. But Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul. ¹³ And the sons of Issachar were : Tola and Puvah and Job and Shimron. ¹⁴ And the sons of Zebulun were : Sered and Elon and Jahleel. ¹⁵ These are the sons of Leah, whom she bore to Jacob in Paddan-aram, with his daughter Dinah. All the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty-three.
¹⁶ And the sons of Gad were : Ziphion and Haggi, Shuni and Ezbon, Eri and Arodi and Areli. ¹⁷ And the sons of Asher were : Imnah and Ishvah and Ishvi and Beriah and Serah their sister. And the sons of Beriah were : Heber and Malchiel. ¹⁸ These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter; and these she bore to Jacob, even sixteen souls.
¹⁹ The sons of Rachel Jacob's wife were : Joseph and Benjamin. ²⁰ And to Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, whom Asenath, the daughter of Potipherah priest of On, bore to him. ²¹ And the sons of Benjamin were : Bela and Becher and Ashbel, Gera and Naaman, Ehi and Rosh, Muppim and Huppim and Ard. ²² These are the sons of Rachel, who were born to Jacob: all the souls were fourteen.
²³ And the sons of Dan were : Hushim. ²⁴ And the sons of Naphtali were : Jahzeel and Guni and Jezer and Shillem.

¹ And Jacob called to his sons and said, gather yourselves together, that I may tell you* what will befall you* in the latter days. ² Assemble yourselves and hear, you* sons of Jacob and listen to Israel your* father.
³ Reuben, you are my firstborn, my might and the beginning of my strength, the preeminence of dignity and the pre-eminence of power. ⁴ Boiling over as water, you will not have the pre-eminence, because you went up to your father's bed, then you defiled it; he went up to my couch.
⁵ Simeon and Levi are brothers, weapons of violence are their swords. ⁶ O my soul, do not come into their council, to their assembly, my glory, do not be united, because they killed* a man in their anger and they hocked an ox in their self-will. ⁷ Cursed be their anger, because it was fierce and their wrath, because it was cruel. I will divide them in Jacob and scatter them in Israel.
⁸ Judah, your brothers will praise you. Your hand will be on the neck of your enemies. Your father's sons will bow down before you. ⁹ Judah is a lion's cub. From the prey, my son, you have gone up. He stooped down, he couched as a lion and as a lioness, who will rouse him up?
¹⁰ The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs and to him will the obedience of the peoples be. ¹¹ Binding his foal to the vine and his donkey's colt to the choice vine, he has washed his garments in wine and his raiment in the blood of grapes. ¹² His eyes will be red with wine and his teeth white with milk.
¹³ Zebulun will dwell at the haven of the sea and he will be for a haven of ships. And his border will be upon Sidon.
¹⁴ Issachar is a strong donkey, couching down between the sheepfolds. ¹⁵ And he saw a resting place that it was good and the land that it was pleasant. And he bowed his shoulder to bear and became a servant under forced-labor.
¹⁶ Dan will judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel. ¹⁷ Dan will be a serpent in the way, an adder in the path, that bites the horse's heels, so that his rider falls backward. ¹⁸ I have waited for your salvation, O Jehovah.
¹⁹ Gad, a troop will press upon him, but he will press upon their heel.
²⁰ Out of the Asher his bread will be fat and he will yield royal dainties.
²¹ Naphtali is a female-deer let loose. He gives pleasant words.
²² Joseph is a fruitful son, a fruitful son by a fountain, his daughters run over the wall. ²³ The archers embittered at him and shot at him and persecute him, ²⁴ but his bow abode in strength. And the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob (From there is the shepherd, the stone of Israel), ²⁵ even by the God of your father, who will help you and by the Almighty, who will bless you with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that couches beneath, blessings of the breasts and of the womb.
²⁶ The blessings of your father have prevailed above the blessings of my forefathers to the utmost bound of the everlasting hills. They will be on the head of Joseph and on the crown of the head of him who was separate from his brothers.
²⁷ Benjamin is a wolf that ravens. In the morning he will devour the prey and at evening he will divide the spoil.
²⁸ All these are the twelve tribes of Israel and this is it that their father spoke to them and blessed them; every man according to his blessing he blessed them.
²⁹ And he ordered them and said to them, I am to be gathered to my people. Bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite, ³⁰ in the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is before Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field from Ephron the Hittite for a possession of a burying place.
³¹ There they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife, there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife and there I buried Leah, ³² the field and the cave that is in it, which was purchased from the sons of Heth.
³³ And when Jacob made an end of charging his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed and yielded up the spirit and was gathered to his people.

² Reuben, Simeon, Levi and Judah, ³ Issachar, Zebulun and Benjamin, ⁴ Dan and Naphtali, Gad and Asher. ⁵ And all the souls who came out of the loins of Jacob were seventy souls. And Joseph was in Egypt already.

¹⁰ On the south side will be the standard of the camp of Reuben according to their armies. And the ruler of the sons of Reuben will be Elizur the son of Shedeur.

³⁰ On the fourth day was Elizur the son of Shedeur, ruler of the sons of Reuben.

¹⁸ And the standard of the camp of Reuben set forward according to their armies and over his army was Elizur the son of Shedeur.

¹ And this is the blessing with which Moses the man of God blessed the sons of Israel before his death.
² And he said, Jehovah came from Sinai and rose from Seir to them. He shined forth from Mount Paran and he came from the ten thousands of holy ones. At his right hand was a fiery law for them. ³ Yes, he loves the people. All his holy ones are in your hand and they sat down at your feet. He will receive from your words.
⁴ Moses commanded for us a law, an inheritance for the assembly of Jacob. ⁵ And he was king in Jeshurun when the heads of the people were gathered, all the tribes of Israel together.
⁶ Let Reuben live and not die, nor let his men be few.
⁷ And this is of Judah: And he said, Hear, Jehovah, the voice of Judah and bring him into his people. With his hands he contended for himself and you will be a help against his adversaries.
⁸ And of Levi he said, Your Thummim and your Urim are with your holy man, whom you proved at Massah, with whom you contended at the waters of Meribah, ⁹ who said of his father and of his mother, I have not seen him, neither did he acknowledge his brothers, nor knew he his own sons, for they have observed your word and keep your covenant. ¹⁰ They will teach Jacob your ordinances and Israel your law. They will put incense before you and whole burnt offering upon your altar. ¹¹ Bless, Jehovah, his substance and accept the work of his hands. Strike through the loins of those who rise up against him and of those who hate him, that they not rise again.
¹² Of Benjamin he said, The beloved of Jehovah will dwell in safety by him. He covers him all the day long and he dwells between his shoulders.
¹³ And of Joseph he said, Blessed of Jehovah be his land, for the precious things of heaven, for the dew and for the deep that couches beneath, ¹⁴ and for the precious things of the fruits of the sun and for the precious things of the growth of the moons, ¹⁵ and for the chief things of the mountains of long-ago and for the precious things of the everlasting hills, ¹⁶ and for the precious things of the earth and the fullness of it and the good will of him who dwelt in the bush. Let it come upon the head of Joseph and upon the crown of the head of him who was separate from his brothers. ¹⁷ The first-offspring of his herd, majesty is his. And his horns are the horns of the wild-ox. With them he will push the peoples, all of them, even the ends of the earth. And they are the ten thousands of Ephraim and they are the thousands of Manasseh.
¹⁸ And of Zebulun he said, Rejoice, Zebulun, in your going out, and, Issachar in your tents. ¹⁹ They will call the peoples to the mountain. There they will offer sacrifices of righteousness, for they will suck the abundance of the seas and the hidden treasures of the sand.
²⁰ And of Gad he said, He who enlarges Gad is blessed. He dwells as a lioness and tears the arm, yes, the crown of the head. ²¹ And he provided the first part for himself, for there was the lawgiver's portion reserved. And he came with the heads of the people. He executed the righteousness of Jehovah and his ordinances with Israel.
²² And of Dan he said, Dan is a lion's cub that leaps forth from Bashan.
²³ And of Naphtali he said, O Naphtali, satisfied with favor and full with the blessing of Jehovah, possess you the west and the south.
²⁴ And of Asher he said, Asher with sons are blessed. Let him be acceptable to his brothers and let him dip his foot in oil. ²⁵ Your bars will be iron and brass and as your days, so will your strength be.
²⁶ There is none like God, O Jeshurun, who rides upon the heavens for your help and in his excellency on the skies. ²⁷ The God of long-ago is your dwelling-place and underneath are the everlasting arms. And he thrust out the enemy from before you and said, Destroy. ²⁸ And Israel dwells in safety, the fountain of Jacob alone, in a land of grain and new wine. Yes, his heavens drop down dew. ²⁹ You are fortunate, O Israel. Who is like you, a people saved by Jehovah, the shield of your help and the sword of your excellency! And your enemies will submit themselves to you and you will tread upon their high places.

⁴ And I heard the number of those who have been sealed, a hundred and forty-four thousand, having been sealed out of every tribe of the sons of Israel: ⁵ twelve thousand out of the tribe of Judah having been sealed; twelve thousand out of the tribe of Reuben; twelve thousand out of the tribe of Gad; ⁶ twelve thousand out of the tribe of Asher; twelve thousand out of the tribe of Naphtali; twelve thousand out of the tribe of Manasseh; ⁷ twelve thousand out of the tribe of Simeon; twelve thousand out of the tribe of Levi; twelve thousand out of the tribe of Issachar; ⁸ twelve thousand out of the tribe of Zebulun; twelve thousand out of the tribe of Joseph; twelve thousand out of the tribe of Benjamin having been sealed.
