¹ And Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, ² Take the sum of the sons of Kohath from among the sons of Levi, by their families, by their fathers' houses, ³ from thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all who enter upon the service, to do the work in the tent of meeting.
⁴ This is the service of the sons of Kohath in the tent of meeting, about the most holy things:
⁵ When the camp sets forward, Aaron will go in and his sons and they will take down the veil of the screen and cover the ark of the testimony with it. ⁶ And will put on it a covering of certain skin and will spread over it a cloth all of blue and will put in the staves of it.
⁷ And upon the table of showbread they will spread a cloth of blue and put on it the dishes and the spoons and the bowls and the cups with which to pour out. And the continual bread will be on it. ⁸ And they will spread upon them a cloth of scarlet and cover the same with a covering of certain skin and will put in the staves of it.
⁹ And they will take a cloth of blue and cover the lamp-stand of the light and its lamps and its snuffers and its snuff dishes and all the oil vessels of it, with which they minister to it. ¹⁰ And they will put it and all the vessels of it within a covering of certain skin and will put it upon the frame.
¹¹ And upon the golden altar they will spread a cloth of blue and cover it with a covering of certain skin and will put in the staves of it.
¹² And they will take all the vessels of ministry, with which they minister in the sanctuary and put them in a cloth of blue and cover them with a covering of certain skin and will put them on the frame.
¹³ And they will take away the ashes from the altar and spread a purple cloth on it. ¹⁴ And they will put upon it all the vessels of it, with which they minister about it: the censors, the forks and the shovels and the basins, all the vessels of the altar. And they will spread upon it a covering of certain skin and put in the staves of it.
¹⁵ And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary and all the furniture of the sanctuary, as the camp is set forward, after that, the sons of Kohath will come to bear it, but they will not touch the sanctuary, lest they die. These things are the burden of the sons of Kohath in the tent of meeting.
¹⁶ And the charge of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest will be the oil for the light and the sweet incense and the continual meal offering and the anointing oil, the charge of all the tabernacle and of all that is in it: the sanctuary and the furniture of it.
¹⁷ And Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, ¹⁸ You* cut not off the tribe of the Kohathite families from among the Levites, ¹⁹ but thus do to them, that they may live and not die, when they approach to the most holy things. Aaron and his sons will go in and appoint for them each one to his service and to his burden, ²⁰ but they will not go in to see the sanctuary even for a moment, lest they die.

²⁴ This is the service of the Gershonite families, in serving and in bearing burdens: ²⁵ They will bear the curtains of the tabernacle and the tent of meeting, its covering and the covering of certain skin that is above upon it and the screen for the door of the tent of meeting, ²⁶ and the hangings of the court and the screen for the door of the gate of the court, which is by the tabernacle and by the altar all around and their cords and all the instruments of their service and whatever will be done with them; they will serve in it.
²⁷ At the commandment of Aaron and his sons will be all the service of the sons of the Gershonites, in all their burden and in all their service. And you* will appoint to those in charge all their burden. ²⁸ This is the service of the families of the sons of the Gershonites in the tent of meeting. And their charge will be under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.
²⁹ As for the sons of Merari, you will number them by their families, by their fathers' houses. ³⁰ From thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old you will number them, each man who enters upon the service, to do the work of the tent of meeting.
³¹ And this is the charge of their burden, according to all their service in the tent of meeting: the boards of the tabernacle and the bars of it and the pillars of it and the sockets of it, ³² and the pillars of the court all around and their sockets and their pegs and their cords, with all their instruments and with all their service. And you* will appoint the instruments of the charge of their burden by name. ³³ This is the service of the families of the sons of Merari, according to all their service, in the tent of meeting, under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.
³⁴ And Moses and Aaron and the rulers of the congregation numbered by the sons of the Kohathite families and by their fathers' houses, ³⁵ from thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old, each man who entered upon the service, for work in the tent of meeting. ³⁶ And those who were numbered of them by their families were two thousand seven hundred and fifty. ³⁷ These are those who were numbered of the Kohathite families, all who served in the tent of meeting, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the commandment of Jehovah by Moses.

⁴⁶ All those who were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron and the rulers of Israel numbered, by their families and by their fathers' houses, ⁴⁷ from thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old, each man who entered in to do the work of service and the work of bearing burdens in the tent of meeting, ⁴⁸ even those who were numbered of them, were eight thousand and five hundred and eighty. ⁴⁹ According to the commandment of Jehovah they were numbered by Moses, each man according to his service and according to his burden. Thus they were numbered by him, as Jehovah commanded Moses.

¹⁹ And the sons of Kohath by their families: Amram and Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel.

²⁷ And of Kohath was the Amramite family and the Izharite family and the Hebronite family and the Uzzielite family. These are the Kohathite families.

⁴⁶ And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh King of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh and went throughout all the land of Egypt.

⁷ And they will keep his charge and the charge of the whole congregation before the tent of meeting, to do the service of the tabernacle. ⁸ And they will keep all the furniture of the tent of meeting and the charge of the sons of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.

²³ from thirty years old and upward until fifty years old you will number them, all who enter in to wait upon the service, to do the work in the tent of meeting.

Thus will you do to the Levites concerning their charges.

⁹ Is it a small thing to you*, that the God of Israel has separated you* from the congregation of Israel, to bring you* near to himself, to do the service of the tabernacle of Jehovah and to stand before the congregation to minister to them,

⁴ And in the seventh year Jehoiada sent and fetched the captains over hundreds of the Carites and of the guard and brought them to him into the house of Jehovah. And he made a covenant with them and took an oath of them in the house of Jehovah and showed them the king's son.
⁵ And he commanded them, saying, This is the thing that you* will do: a third part of you*, who come in on the Sabbath, will be keepers of the watch of the king's house; ⁶ and a third part will be at the gate Sur; and a third part at the gate behind the guard. So will you* keep the watch of the house and be a barrier.
⁷ And the two companies of you*, even all who go forth on the Sabbath, will keep the watch of the house of Jehovah around the king. ⁸ And you* will encompass the king all around, every man with his weapons in his hand. And he who comes within the ranks, let him be slain. And be you* with the king when he goes out and when he comes in.
⁹ And the captains over hundreds did according to all that Jehoiada the priest commanded. And every man took his men, those who were to come in on the Sabbath, with those who were to go out on the Sabbath and came to Jehoiada the priest. ¹⁰ And the priest delivered to the captains over hundreds the spears and shields that had been king David's, which were in the house of Jehovah. ¹¹ And the guard stood, every man with his weapons in his hand, from the right side of the house to the left side of the house, along by the altar and the house, by the king all around.
¹² Then he brought out the king's son and put the crown upon him and gave him the testimony. And they made him king and anointed him. And they clapped their hands and said, Live, O king.

⁴⁸ And their brothers the Levites were appointed for all the service of the tabernacle of the house of God.

³ And the Levites were numbered from thirty years old and upward. And their number by their polls, man by man, was thirty-eight thousand. ⁴ Of these, twenty-four thousand were to oversee the work of the house of Jehovah. And six thousand were officers and judges, ⁵ and four thousand were gatekeepers and four thousand praised Jehovah with the instruments which David said I made to praise Him.

²⁴ These were the sons of Levi after their fathers' houses, even the heads of the fathers of those of them that were counted, in the number of names by their polls, who did the work for the service of the house of Jehovah, from twenty years old and upward. ²⁵ For David said, Jehovah, the God of Israel, has given rest to his people and he dwells in Jerusalem until everlasting. ²⁶ And also the Levites will no more have need to carry the tabernacle and all the vessels of it for the service of it.
²⁷ For by the last words of David the sons of Levi were numbered, from twenty years old and upward.
²⁸ For their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of Jehovah, in the courts and in the chambers and in the purifying of all holy things, even the work of the service of the house of God, also ²⁹ for the showbread and for the fine flour for a meal offering, whether of unleavened wafers, or of what is baked in the pan, or of what is soaked and for all manner of measure and size. ³⁰ And to stand every morning to thank and praise Jehovah and likewise at evening. ³¹ And to offer all burnt offerings to Jehovah, on the Sabbaths, on the new moons and on the set feasts, in number according to the ordinance concerning them, continually before Jehovah. ³² And that they should keep the charge of the tent of meeting and the charge of the holy place and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brothers, for the service of the house of Jehovah.

¹² and the pattern of all that he had by the Spirit, for the courts of the house of Jehovah and for all the chambers all around, for the treasuries of the house of God and for the treasuries of the dedicated things, ¹³ also for the divisions of the priests and the Levites and for all the work of the service of the house of Jehovah and for all the vessels of service in the house of Jehovah,

¹ And in the seventh year Jehoiada strengthened himself and took the captains of hundreds, Azariah the son of Jeroham and Ishmael the son of Jehohanan and Azariah the son of Obed and Maaseiah the son of Adaiah and Elishaphat the son of Zichri, into covenant with him. ² And they went about in Judah and gathered the Levites out of all the cities of Judah and the heads of fathers of Israel and they came to Jerusalem.
³ And all the assembly made a covenant with the king in the house of God. And he said to them, Behold, the king's son will reign, as Jehovah has spoken concerning the sons of David.
⁴ This is the thing that you* will do: A third part of you* who come in on the Sabbath, of the priests and of the Levites, will be gatekeepers of the thresholds, ⁵ and a third part will be at the king's house and a third part at the gate of the foundation. And all the people will be in the courts of the house of Jehovah.
⁶ But let none come into the house of Jehovah except the priests and those who minister of the Levites. They will come in for they are holy, but all the people will keep the charge of Jehovah. ⁷ And the Levites will encompass the king all around, every man with his weapons in his hand. And whoever comes into the house, let him be slain. And be you* with the king when he comes in and when he goes out.
⁸ So the Levites and all Judah did according to all that Jehoiada the priest commanded. And they took every man his men, those who were to come in on the Sabbath, with those who were to go out on the Sabbath. For Jehoiada the priest did not dismiss the divisions. ⁹ And Jehoiada the priest delivered to the captains of hundreds the spears and bucklers and shields, that had been king David's, which were in the house of God.
¹⁰ And he set all the people, every man with his weapon in his hand, from the right side of the house to the left side of the house, along by the altar and the house, by the king all around. ¹¹ Then they brought out the king's son and put the crown upon him and gave him the testimony and made him king. And Jehoiada and his sons anointed him. And they said, Live, O king.

⁸ Now in the second year of their coming to the house of God at Jerusalem, in the second month, Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and Jeshua the son of Jozadak and the rest of their brothers the priests and the Levites and all those who came out of the captivity to Jerusalem, began. And they appointed the Levites, from twenty years old and upward, to have the oversight of the work of the house of Jehovah.

²³ And he was approximately thirty years old, when beginning to teach, (as it was supposed, the son of Joseph). Although Jesus, himself was a descendant from Heli,

³ For although we are walking in the flesh, we are not warring according to the flesh. ⁴ For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but are mighty in God, toward the demolition of strongholds,

¹⁰ Furthermore, my brethren, be empowered in the Lord and in the dominion of his strength. ¹¹ Clothe yourselves with the full-armor of God, that you may be able to stand up to the schemes of the devil. ¹² Because the wrestling in us is not with blood and flesh, but with the principalities, with the authorities, with the world dominions of the darkness of this age, with the spiritual ones of wickedness in the heavenly places. \ulnone\nosupersub ¹³ Because of this, take up the full-armor of God, in order that you may be able to stand against the devil in the evil day, and to stand straight, having worked against all things. ¹⁴ Therefore stand, having girded your loins in truth and having clothed yourselves with the breastplate of righteousness, ¹⁵ and having tied the feet with the readiness of the good-news of peace. ¹⁶ Upon all these things, when you have taken up the shield of the faith, in which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one; \ulnone\nosupersub ¹⁷ also able to accept the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, ¹⁸ through all prayer and supplication praying in all seasons in the Spirit and watching in this same thing in all perseverance and supplication concerning all the holy-ones.

¹⁸ I consign this command to you, my child Timothy, according to the prophesies preceding upon you, in order that you may be warring the good warfare by them;

¹ Faithful is the word: if a any man is aspiring to the overseership, he is desiring a good work.

⁶ not a new-convert, (in order that when he is puffed up, he might not fall into the condemnation of the devil).

³⁰ And the ruler of the fathers' house of the Kohathite families will be Elizaphan the son of Uzziel. ³¹ And their charge will be the ark and the table and the lamp-stand and the altars and the vessels of the sanctuary with which they minister and the screen and all the service of it.

³⁴ It is like a man, going-abroad, having left his house and given authority to his bondservants, and his work to each one, and he commanded the doorkeeper in order that he should watch.

¹⁰ And they will make an ark of acacia wood. Two cubits and a half will be the length of it and a cubit and a half the breadth of it and a cubit and a half the height of it. ¹¹ And you will overlay it with pure gold. Inside and outside you will overlay it and will make upon it a crown of gold all around. ¹² And you will cast four rings of gold for it and put them in the four feet of it. And two rings will be on the one side of it and two rings on the other side of it. ¹³ And you will make staves of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. ¹⁴ And you will put the staves into the rings on the sides of the ark, with which to bear the ark. ¹⁵ The staves will be in the rings of the ark; they will not be taken from it. ¹⁶ And you will put into the ark the testimony which I will give you.

³¹ And you will make a veil of blue and purple and scarlet and fine twined linen. With cherubim, it will be made the work of the skillful workman. ³² And you will hang it upon four pillars of acacia overlaid with gold, their hooks will be of gold, upon four sockets of silver. ³³ And you will hang up the veil under the clasps and will bring in there within the veil the ark of the testimony. And the veil will separate to you* between the holy place and the most holy.

¹⁷ Then the tent of meeting will set forward, with the camp of the Levites in the midst of the camps. As they encamp, so will they set forward, every man in his place, by their standards.

²⁷ And of Kohath was the Amramite family and the Izharite family and the Hebronite family and the Uzzielite family. These are the Kohathite families. ²⁸ According to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, there were eight thousand and six hundred, keeping the charge of the sanctuary. ²⁹ The families of the sons of Kohath will encamp on the side of the tabernacle southward. ³⁰ And the ruler of the fathers' house of the Kohathite families will be Elizaphan the son of Uzziel. ³¹ And their charge will be the ark and the table and the lamp-stand and the altars and the vessels of the sanctuary with which they minister and the screen and all the service of it. ³² And Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest will be ruler of the rulers of the Levites, with the oversight of those who keep the charge of the sanctuary.

¹⁴ And in the first place the standard of the camp of the sons of Judah set forward according to their armies and over his army was Nahshon the son of Amminadab.

² And David arose and went with all the people who were with him, from Baale-judah, to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the Name, even the name of Jehovah of hosts who sits above the cherubim.
³ And they set the ark of God upon a new cart and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was on the hill. And Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the new cart. ⁴ And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill, with the ark of God and Ahio went before the ark.
⁵ And David and all the house of Israel played before Jehovah with all manner of instruments of fir-wood and with harps and with psalteries and with timbrels and with castanets and with cymbals.
⁶ And when they came to the threshing-floor of Nacon, Uzzah put forth to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled. ⁷ And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Uzzah and God killed* him there for his error and he died there by the ark of God.
⁸ And David was displeased, because Jehovah had broken forth upon Uzzah. And he called that place Perez-uzzah, to this day. ⁹ And David was afraid of Jehovah that day and he said, How will the ark of Jehovah come to me?

⁷ And he will destroy on this mountain the face of the covering that covers all peoples and the veil that is spread over all nations.

⁵¹ And behold, the curtain of the temple was split-apart into two pieces, from the top to the bottom, and the earth shook, and the rocks were split-apart;

³ But, the tabernacle which is called the holy of holies was in behind the second curtain;

²⁰ a way which he inaugurated for us, a fresh and living way, through the curtain, that is, his flesh;

¹³ And you will make staves of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. ¹⁴ And you will put the staves into the rings on the sides of the ark, with which to bear the ark. ¹⁵ The staves will be in the rings of the ark; they will not be taken from it.

Two tenth parts of an ephah will be in one cake. ⁶ And you will set them in two rows, six on a row, upon the pure table before Jehovah. ⁷ And you will put pure frankincense upon each row, that it may be on the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire to Jehovah. ⁸ Every Sabbath day he will set it in order before Jehovah continually. It is an everlasting covenant from the sons of Israel.

³¹ And you will make a lamp-stand of pure gold. Of beaten work will the lamp-stand be made, even its base and its shaft, its cups, its knobs and its flowers, will be of one piece with it. ³² And there will be six branches going out of the sides of it, three branches of the lamp-stand out of the one side of it and three branches of the lamp-stand out of the other side of it: ³³ three cups made like almond-blossoms in one branch, a knob and a flower and three cups made like almond-blossoms in the other branch, a knob and a flower, so for the six branches going out of the lamp-stand, ³⁴ and in the lamp-stand four cups made like almond-blossoms, the knobs of it and the flowers of it. ³⁵ And a knob under two branches of one piece with it and a knob under two branches of one piece with it and a knob under two branches of one piece with it, for the six branches going out of the lamp-stand. ³⁶ Their knobs and their branches will be of one piece with it, the whole of it one beaten work of pure gold. ³⁷ And you will make the lamps of it, seven. And they will light the lamps of it, to give light in front of it. ³⁸ And the snuffers of it and the snuff dishes of it, will be of pure gold. ³⁹ It will be made from a talant of pure gold, with all these vessels.

¹⁷ And he made the lamp-stand of pure gold. The whole of it was one beaten work of pure gold. ²³ And he made the lamps of it, seven and the snuffers of it and the snuff dishes of it, of pure gold. ²⁴ He made it of a talant of pure gold and all the vessels of it.

¹⁰⁵ Your word is a lamp to my feet and light to my path.

²⁰ The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand and the seven golden lamp-stands is this : the seven stars are the messengers of the seven congregations and the seven lamp-stands are seven congregations.

⁶ And will put on it a covering of certain skin and will spread over it a cloth all of blue and will put in the staves of it.

¹² And they will take all the vessels of ministry, with which they minister in the sanctuary and put them in a cloth of blue and cover them with a covering of certain skin and will put them on the frame.

¹ And you will make an altar to burn incense upon. You will make it of acacia wood. ² A cubit will be the length of it and a cubit the breadth of it (it will be square) and two cubits will be the height of it. The horns of it will be of one piece with it. ³ And you will overlay it with pure gold, the top of it and the sides of it all around and the horns of it. And you will make to it a crown of gold all around. ⁴ And two golden rings you will make for it under the crown of it, upon the two ribs of it, upon the two sides of it you will make them. And they will be for places for staves with which to bear it. ⁵ And you will make the staves of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. ⁶ And you will put it before the veil that is by the ark of the testimony, before the mercy-seat that is over the testimony, where I will meet with you.
⁷ And Aaron will burn in it incense of sweet spices. Every morning, when he dresses the lamps, he will burn it. ⁸ And when Aaron lights the lamps at evening, he will burn it, a perpetual incense before Jehovah throughout your* genealogy. ⁹ You* will offer no strange incense on it, nor burnt offering, nor meal offering. And you* will pour no drink offering on it. ¹⁰ And Aaron will make atonement upon the horns of it once in the year, with the blood of the sin offering of atonement. Once in the year he will make atonement for it throughout your* genealogy. It is most holy to Jehovah.
¹¹ And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, ¹² When you take the sum of the sons of Israel, according to those who are numbered of them, then they will give every man a ransom for his soul to Jehovah when you number them, that there is no plague among them when you number them. ¹³ This they will give, everyone who passes over to those who are numbered: half a shekel according to the shekel of the sanctuary, (the shekel is twenty gerahs,) half a shekel for an offering to Jehovah. ¹⁴ Everyone who passes over to those who are numbered, from twenty years old and upward, will give the offering of Jehovah. ¹⁵ The rich will not give more and the poor will not give less, than the half shekel, when they give the offering of Jehovah, to make atonement for your* souls. ¹⁶ And you will take the atonement money from the sons of Israel and will appoint it for the service of the tent of meeting, that it may be a memorial for the sons of Israel before Jehovah, to make atonement for your* souls.
¹⁷ And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, ¹⁸ You will also make a large-basin of brass and the base of it from brass for washing. And you will put it between the tent of meeting and the altar and you will put water in it. ¹⁹ And Aaron and his sons will wash their hands and their feet there.

²⁵ And he made the altar of incense of acacia wood: a cubit was the length of it and a cubit the breadth of it, square and two cubits was the height of it. The horns of it were of one piece with it. ²⁶ And he overlaid it with pure gold, the top of it and the sides of it all around and the horns of it. And he made to it a crown of gold all around. ²⁷ And he made for it two golden rings under the crown of it, upon the two ribs of it, upon the two sides of it, for places for staves with which to bear it. ²⁸ And he made the staves of acacia wood and overlaid them with gold.

³⁸ and the golden altar and the anointing oil and the sweet incense and the screen for the door of the tent,

⁵ And you will set the golden altar for incense before the ark of the testimony and put the screen of the door to the tabernacle.

²⁶ And he put the golden altar in the tent of meeting before the veil, ²⁷ and he burnt incense of sweet spices on it, as Jehovah commanded Moses.

⁹ According to all that I show you: the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all the furniture of it, even so will you* make it.

¹⁰ and the finely worked garments and the holy garments for Aaron the priest and the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest's office,

⁸ And they will keep all the furniture of the tent of meeting and the charge of the sons of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.

⁷ And upon the table of showbread they will spread a cloth of blue and put on it the dishes and the spoons and the bowls and the cups with which to pour out. And the continual bread will be on it.

¹⁴ And they took away the pots and the shovels and the snuffers and the spoons and all the vessels of brass with which they ministered. ¹⁵ And the captain of the guard took away the censors and the basins, what was from gold, in gold and what was from silver, in silver.

²⁹ Some of them were also appointed over the furniture and over all the vessels of the sanctuary and over the fine flour and the wine and the oil and the frankincense and the spices.

¹¹ And Huram made the pots and the shovels and the basins. So Huram made an end of doing the work that he worked for king Solomon in the house of God:

¹⁶ Also the pots and the shovels and the flesh-hooks and all the vessels of it, Huram his father made of bright brass for king Solomon for the house of Jehovah.

¹⁹ And Solomon made all the vessels that were in the house of God, also the golden altar and the tables on which was the showbread,

²² and the snuffers and the basins and the spoons and the censors, of pure gold. And as for the entry of the house, the inner doors of it for the most holy place and the doors of the house, namely, of the temple, were of gold.

¹ And you will make the altar of acacia wood, five cubits long and five cubits broad (the altar will be square) and the height of it will be three cubits. ² And you will make the horns of it upon the four corners of it. The horns of it will be of one piece with it and you will overlay it with brass. ³ And you will make its pots to take away its ashes and its shovels and its basins and its forks and its censors; all the vessels of it you will make of brass. ⁴ And you will make for it a grating of lattice-work of brass and upon the lattice-work you will make four brazen rings in the four corners of it. ⁵ And you will put it under the ledge round the altar beneath, that the lattice-work may reach halfway up the altar. ⁶ And you will make staves for the altar, staves of acacia wood and overlay them with brass. ⁷ And the staves of it will be put into the rings and the staves will be upon the two sides of the altar, in bearing it. ⁸ You will make it hollow with planks. As it has been shown you on the mountain, so will they make it.

¹² And the fire upon the altar will be kept burning on it; it will not go out. And the priest will burn wood on it every morning and he will lay the burnt offering in order upon it and will burn the fat of the peace offerings on it. ¹³ Fire will be kept burning upon the altar continually; it will not go out.

⁶ And will put on it a covering of certain skin and will spread over it a cloth all of blue and will put in the staves of it.
⁷ And upon the table of showbread they will spread a cloth of blue and put on it the dishes and the spoons and the bowls and the cups with which to pour out. And the continual bread will be on it. ⁸ And they will spread upon them a cloth of scarlet and cover the same with a covering of certain skin and will put in the staves of it.
⁹ And they will take a cloth of blue and cover the lamp-stand of the light and its lamps and its snuffers and its snuff dishes and all the oil vessels of it, with which they minister to it.

¹¹ And upon the golden altar they will spread a cloth of blue and cover it with a covering of certain skin and will put in the staves of it.
¹² And they will take all the vessels of ministry, with which they minister in the sanctuary and put them in a cloth of blue and cover them with a covering of certain skin and will put them on the frame.

¹ And he made the altar of burnt offering of acacia wood: five cubits was the length of it and five cubits the breadth of it, square and three cubits the height of it. ² And he made the horns of it upon the four corners of it. The horns of it were of one piece with it and he overlaid it with brass. ³ And he made all the vessels of the altar: the pots and the shovels and the basins, the forks and the censors. All the vessels of it he made of brass. ⁴ And he made for the altar a grating of lattice-work of brass, under the ledge around it beneath, reaching halfway up. ⁵ And he cast four rings for the four ends of the grating of brass, to be places for the staves. ⁶ And he made the staves of acacia wood and overlaid them with brass. ⁷ And he put the staves into the rings on the sides of the altar, with which to bear it; he made it hollow with planks.

¹² And you will set bounds to the people all around, saying, Take heed to yourselves, that you* not go up onto the mountain, or touch the border of it. Whoever touches the mountain will be surely put to death;

⁵¹ And when the tabernacle sets forward, the Levites will take it down and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites will set it up. And the stranger who comes near will be put to death.

³⁸ And those who encamp before the tabernacle eastward, before the tent of meeting toward the sunrise, will be Moses and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the sons of Israel. And the stranger that comes near will be put to death.

⁹ But he gave none to the sons of Kohath, because the service of the sanctuary belonged to them. They bore it upon their shoulders.

²¹ And the Kohathites set forward, bearing the sanctuary and the others set up the tabernacle until their coming.

⁹ And Moses wrote this law and delivered it to the priests the sons of Levi, who bore the ark of the covenant of Jehovah and to all the elders of Israel.

¹⁰ For the priests who bore the ark stood in the midst of the Jordan until everything was finished that Jehovah commanded Joshua to speak to the people, according to all that Moses commanded Joshua. And the people hastened and passed over.

¹⁹ And he killed* of the men of Beth-shemesh, because they had looked into the ark of Jehovah. He killed* of the people fifty thousand and seventy men. And the people mourned, because Jehovah had struck the people with a great slaughter.

⁶ And when they came to the threshing-floor of Nacon, Uzzah put forth to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled. ⁷ And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Uzzah and God killed* him there for his error and he died there by the ark of God.

¹³ And it was so, that, when those who bore the ark of Jehovah had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fatten sheep.

⁹ And when they came to the threshing-floor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark, for the oxen stumbled. ¹⁰ And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Uzza and he killed* him because he put forth his hand to the ark. And there he died before God.

² Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites, for Jehovah has chosen them to carry the ark of God and to minister to him until everlasting.

¹⁵ And the sons of the Levites bore the ark of God upon their shoulders with the staves on it, as Moses commanded according to the word of Jehovah.

¹⁸ For you have not come to a mountain which has been touched and burned with fire and to blackness and to darkness and to whirlwind, ¹⁹ and to the noise of a trumpet and to the voice of declarations; which voice those who heard renounced, asking the word not to be added to them. ²⁰ For they were not carrying out what was ordered, ‘Even if a beast might touch the mountain, it will be stoned.’ ²¹ And so fearful was the manifestation, that Moses said, ‘I am fearful and trembling. ²² But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, to the heavenly Jerusalem, and to tens of thousands of messengers, ²³ to the festal-gathering and to the congregation of the firstborn ones, who have been registered in the heavens and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous who have been completed, ²⁴ and to Jesus the intermediary of a new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling which speaks better than that of Abel. ²⁵ Beware that you do not renounce the one who speaks. For if those men did not flee when they renounced the one who divinely-warned them upon the earth, much more we may not flee who are turning away from him, who is from the heavens; ²⁶ whose voice then shook the earth. But now he has promised, saying, ‘Still once for all, I do not only shake the earth, but also the heaven.’ ²⁷ And the saying, ‘still once for all,’indicates the transfer of those things which are shaken, as of things which have been made, in order that those things which are not shaken may remain. ²⁸ Hence, receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us have gratitude, through which we give-divine service in ways well pleasing to God, with reverence and piety; ²⁹ for our God is also a consuming fire.

⁶ oil for the light, spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet incense,

²⁰ And you will command the sons of Israel, that they bring to you pure beaten olive oil for the light, to cause a lamp to burn continually ²¹ in the tent of meeting, outside the veil which is before the testimony. Aaron and his sons will keep it in order from evening to morning before Jehovah. It will be an everlasting statute throughout their genealogy from the sons of Israel.

³⁹ The one lamb you will offer in the morning and the other lamb you will offer at evening. ⁴⁰ And with the one lamb a tenth part of an ephah of fine flour mingled with the fourth part of a hin of beaten oil and the fourth part of a hin of wine for a drink offering. ⁴¹ And the other lamb you will offer at evening and will do to it according to the meal offering of the morning and according to the drink offering of it, for a sweet aroma, an offering made by fire to Jehovah.

²³ You take also to you the chief spices: of flowing myrrh five hundred shekels and of sweet cinnamon half so much, even two hundred and fifty and of sweet cane two hundred and fifty, ²⁴ and of cassia five hundred, according to the shekel of the sanctuary and of olive oil a hin. ²⁵ And you will make it a holy anointing oil, a perfume compounded after the art of the perfumer. It will be a holy anointing oil. ²⁶ And you will anoint with it the tent of meeting and the ark of the testimony, ²⁷ and the table and all the vessels of it and the lamp-stand and the vessels of it and the altar of incense, ²⁸ and the altar of burnt offering with all the vessels of it and the large-basin and the base of it. ²⁹ And you will sanctify them, that they may be most holy. Whatever touches them will be holy. ³⁰ And you will anoint Aaron and his sons and sanctify them, that they may minister to me in the priest's office.
³¹ And you will speak to the sons of Israel, saying, This will be a holy anointing oil to me throughout your* genealogy. ³² Upon the flesh of man it will not be poured, neither will you* make any like it, according to the composition of it. It is holy and it will be holy to you*. ³³ Whoever compounds any like it, or whoever puts any of it upon a stranger, he will be cut off from his people.
³⁴ And Jehovah said to Moses, Take to you sweet spices, stacte and onycha and galbanum, sweet spices with pure frankincense, of each there will be a like weight. ³⁵ And you will make of it incense, a perfume after the art of the perfumer, seasoned with salt, pure and holy. ³⁶ And you will beat some of it very small and put of it before the testimony in the tent of meeting, where I will meet with you. It will be to you* most holy. ³⁷ And the incense which you will make, you* will not make for yourselves according to the composition of it. It will be to you holy for Jehovah. ³⁸ Whoever will make like that, to smell of it, he will be cut off from his people.

¹¹ and the anointing oil and the incense of sweet spices for the holy place.
According to all that I have commanded you they will do.

²⁹ And he made the holy anointing oil and the pure incense of sweet spices, after the art of the perfumer.

²⁰ This is the oblation of Aaron and of his sons, which they will offer to Jehovah in the day when he is anointed: the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a meal offering perpetually, half of it in the morning and half of it in the evening.

² Command the sons of Israel, that they bring to you pure beaten olive oil for the light, to cause a lamp to burn continually.

³² And Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest will be ruler of the rulers of the Levites, with the oversight of those who keep the charge of the sanctuary.

¹⁸ ‘ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, in that, he anointed me to proclaim the good-news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the crushed in heart, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth the downtrodden in deliverance,

²⁸ Therefore, take-heed to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit placed you as overseers, to shepherd the congregation of the Lord and God, which the Lord acquired through his own blood.

¹ So let a man count us as attendants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.

⁵ For there is one God, and one intermediary of God and of men, the man, Christ Jesus,

¹ Hence, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider Jesus Christ, the Apostle and High-Priest of our confession;

⁶ but Christ was faithful as a son, over his house; whose house we are, if indeed we hold-onto our boldness and the boasting of our hope steadfast till the end.

²⁵ For you were being misled like sheep, but now were returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

² Shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising the oversight, not by compulsion, but willfully, nor covetously, but eagerly;

²¹ And Jehovah said to Moses, Go down, command the people, lest they break through to Jehovah to gaze and many of them perish.

¹ And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each of them took his censer and put fire in it and laid incense on it and offered strange fire before Jehovah, which he had not commanded them. ² And there came out fire from before Jehovah and devoured them and they died before Jehovah.

³² and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up and their households and all the men that pertained to Korah and all their goods.

¹⁰ And Jehovah said to Moses, Put back the rod of Aaron before the testimony, to be kept for a sign against the sons of rebellion, that you may make an end of their murmurings against me, that they not die.

⁵ And you* will keep the charge of the sanctuary and the charge of the altar, that there is no more wrath upon the sons of Israel.

²³ And they will bring out all your wives and your sons to the Chaldeans. And you will not escape out of their hand, but will be taken by the hand of the king of Babylon. And you will cause this city to be burned with fire.

² And there came out fire from before Jehovah and devoured them and they died before Jehovah.

¹⁹ Therefore brethren, having boldness for the entrance into the holy-places by the blood of Jesus, ²⁰ a way which he inaugurated for us, a fresh and living way, through the curtain, that is, his flesh;

¹⁹ And the temple of God which is in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant was seen in his temple, and there became lightnings and voices and thunders and an earthquake and great hail.

¹⁸ And these are the names of the sons of Gershon by their families: Libni and Shimei.

²¹ Of Gershon was the Libnite family and the Shimeite family. These are the Gershonite families.

²⁴ And the ruler of the fathers' house of the Gershonites will be Eliasaph the son of Lael.

³ from thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all who enter upon the service, to do the work in the tent of meeting.

³ And the Levites were numbered from thirty years old and upward. And their number by their polls, man by man, was thirty-eight thousand.

²⁴ These were the sons of Levi after their fathers' houses, even the heads of the fathers of those of them that were counted, in the number of names by their polls, who did the work for the service of the house of Jehovah, from twenty years old and upward.

²⁷ For by the last words of David the sons of Levi were numbered, from twenty years old and upward.

¹ Who is this who comes from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah, this who is glorious in his apparel, marching in the greatness of his strength? I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save.
² Why are you red in your apparel and your garments like he who treads in the wine vat? ³ I have trodden the winepress alone and of the peoples there was no man with me. Yes, I trod them in my anger and trampled them in my wrath and their lifeblood is sprinkled upon my garments and I have stained all my garments. ⁴ For the day of vengeance was in my heart and the year of my redeemed has come.

¹⁴ For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am fleshly, having been sold under sin.
¹⁵ For I do not know what I am working. For I am doing this thing which I do not will but instead I am doing this thing which I am hating. ¹⁶ But if I am practicing this thing which I do not will, I assent together with the law; that it is good. ¹⁷ So now I no longer am working it, but the sin which is dwelling in me. ¹⁸ For I know what is a good thing is not dwelling in me, (that is, in my flesh); for it is laying beside me to will it, but I am not finding what is a good thing to work it. ¹⁹ For I am not practicing the good thing which I will, but instead I am doing this evil thing which I do not will. ²⁰ But if I am practicing this thing which I do not will, I am no longer working it, but the sin which is dwelling in me. ²¹ Consequently, I find the law to me who is willing to practice the good thing–evil is laying beside me.
²² For I delight-inwardly in the law of God according to the inward man. ²³ But I am seeing a different law in my members, warring against the law of my mind and capturing me in the law of sin which is in my members. ²⁴ O I am a miserable man! Who will rescue me out of the body of this death?

⁷ Does anyone ever make war while supplying his own rations? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat from its fruit? Or who shepherds a flock and does not drink from the milk of the flock?

⁷ in the word of truth, in the power of God; through the weapons of righteousness from the right hand and from the left hand,

³ For although we are walking in the flesh, we are not warring according to the flesh. ⁴ For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but are mighty in God, toward the demolition of strongholds, ⁵ demolishing evil reasonings and every exalted thing which is lifting itself up against the knowledge of God and capturing every device of the Adversary to the obedience of the Christ;

¹⁷ For the flesh lusts against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh, and these lay in opposition to one another; in order that you may not do these things which you would wish.

²⁴ But those who are of the Christ have crucified the flesh together with its passions and lusts.

¹⁰ Furthermore, my brethren, be empowered in the Lord and in the dominion of his strength. ¹¹ Clothe yourselves with the full-armor of God, that you may be able to stand up to the schemes of the devil. ¹² Because the wrestling in us is not with blood and flesh, but with the principalities, with the authorities, with the world dominions of the darkness of this age, with the spiritual ones of wickedness in the heavenly places. \ulnone\nosupersub ¹³ Because of this, take up the full-armor of God, in order that you may be able to stand against the devil in the evil day, and to stand straight, having worked against all things. ¹⁴ Therefore stand, having girded your loins in truth and having clothed yourselves with the breastplate of righteousness, ¹⁵ and having tied the feet with the readiness of the good-news of peace. ¹⁶ Upon all these things, when you have taken up the shield of the faith, in which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one; \ulnone\nosupersub ¹⁷ also able to accept the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, ¹⁸ through all prayer and supplication praying in all seasons in the Spirit and watching in this same thing in all perseverance and supplication concerning all the holy-ones. ¹⁹ And pray on my behalf, in order that the word may be given to me, in opening my mouth to make known the mystery of the good-news in boldness,

³ Therefore suffer evil treatment as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. ⁴ No active soldier entangles himself in the tradeoffs of this life, in order that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier.

⁷ I have fought the good fight. I have completed the course. I have kept the faith.

²⁷ At the commandment of Aaron and his sons will be all the service of the sons of the Gershonites, in all their burden and in all their service. And you* will appoint to those in charge all their burden.

³¹ And this is the charge of their burden, according to all their service in the tent of meeting: the boards of the tabernacle and the bars of it and the pillars of it and the sockets of it, ³² and the pillars of the court all around and their sockets and their pegs and their cords, with all their instruments and with all their service. And you* will appoint the instruments of the charge of their burden by name.

⁴⁷ from thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old, each man who entered in to do the work of service and the work of bearing burdens in the tent of meeting,

⁴⁹ According to the commandment of Jehovah they were numbered by Moses, each man according to his service and according to his burden. Thus they were numbered by him, as Jehovah commanded Moses.

¹⁴ And you will make a covering for the tent of rams' skins dyed red and a covering of certain skins above.

²⁵ And the charge of the sons of Gershon in the tent of meeting will be the tabernacle and the tent, the covering of it and the screen for the door of the tent of meeting, ²⁶ and the hangings of the court and the screen for the door of the court, which is by the tabernacle and by the altar all around and the cords of it for all the service of it.

⁵ Take it from them, that they may be used in doing the service of the tent of meeting. And you will give them to the Levites, to every man according to his service. ⁶ And Moses took the wagons and the oxen and gave them to the Levites. ⁷ Two wagons and four oxen he gave to the sons of Gershon, according to their service.

⁹ And you will make the court of the tabernacle. For the south side southward there will be hangings for the court of fine twined linen a hundred cubits long for one side.

¹⁸ the pegs of the tabernacle and the pegs of the court and their cords,

⁷⁰ (just-as he spoke through the mouth of his holy prophets that have been from the ages past).

² Now I praise you brethren that you have remembered me in all things and are holding-onto the traditions, just-as I gave them to you.

³³ This is the service of the families of the sons of Merari, according to all their service, in the tent of meeting, under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

⁵ And there are diversities of services and the same Lord. ⁶ And there are diversities of workings, but it is the same God, who is working all things in all.

³³ Of Merari was the Mahlite family and the Mushite family. These are the families of Merari. ³⁴ And those who were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, were six thousand and two hundred. ³⁵ And the ruler of the fathers' house of the families of Merari was Zuriel the son of Abihail. They will encamp on the side of the tabernacle northward.

¹ Jehovah says to my Lord, Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool. ² Jehovah will send forth the rod of your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of your enemies. ³ Your people offer themselves willingly in the day of your power, in holy array. Out of the womb of the morning you have the dew of your youth.
⁴ Jehovah has sworn and will not repent. You are a everlasting priest after the order of Melchizedek.
⁵ The Lord at your right hand will strike through kings in the day of his wrath. ⁶ He will judge among the nations. He will fill with dead bodies. He will strike through the head in many countries. ⁷ He will drink of the brook in the way, therefore he will lift up the head.

¹¹ But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue: righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, meekness. ¹² Fight the good fight of the faith, grab the everlasting life, to which you were called and professed the good confession in the sight of many witnesses.

⁴ No active soldier entangles himself in the tradeoffs of this life, in order that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier.

⁷ I have fought the good fight. I have completed the course. I have kept the faith. ⁸ Furthermore the crown of righteousness is laid up for me, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will be giving to me in that day, and not only to me, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.

¹⁵ And you will make the boards for the tabernacle of acacia wood, standing up.

³⁶ And the appointed charge of the sons of Merari will be the boards of the tabernacle and the bars of it and the pillars of it and the sockets of it and all the instruments of it and all the service of it, ³⁷ and the pillars of the court all around and their sockets and their pegs and their cords.

⁸ And he gave four wagons and eight oxen to the sons of Merari, according to their service, under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest. ⁹ But he gave none to the sons of Kohath, because the service of the sanctuary belonged to them. They bore it upon their shoulders.

¹⁷ And the sockets for the pillars were of brass, the hooks of the pillars and their bands, of silver and the overlaying of their capitals, of silver. And all the pillars of the court were banded with silver.

²¹ This is the sum of the tabernacle, even the tabernacle of the testimony, as they were counted, according to the commandment of Moses, for the service of the Levites, by the hand of Ithamar, the son of Aaron the priest.

¹ And it happened on the day that Moses made an end of setting up the tabernacle, that he anointed it and made it holy and all the furniture of it and the altar and all the vessels of it and anointed them and made them holy.

²⁸ This is the service of the families of the sons of the Gershonites in the tent of meeting. And their charge will be under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

⁶ And Joshua spoke to the priests, saying, Take up the ark of the covenant and pass over before the people. And they took up the ark of the covenant and went before the people.

⁶ When a man will take hold of his brother in the house of his father, saying, You have clothing, be our ruler and let this ruin be under your hand,

³⁹ from thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old, each man who entered upon the service, for work in the tent of meeting,

⁴³ from thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old, each man who entered upon the service, for work in the tent of meeting,

²⁶ And also the Levites will no more have need to carry the tabernacle and all the vessels of it for the service of it.
²⁷ For by the last words of David the sons of Levi were numbered, from twenty years old and upward.

¹³ also for the divisions of the priests and the Levites and for all the work of the service of the house of Jehovah and for all the vessels of service in the house of Jehovah,

³⁴ And those who were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, were six thousand and two hundred.

²⁵ Your bars will be iron and brass and as your days, so will your strength be.

¹³ No temptation has taken you except common human temptations, but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to undergo, but together with the temptation, he will also make an outlet.

⁸ for the word of wisdom is given to one through the Spirit, and the word of knowledge to another according to the same Spirit; ⁹ and miraculous faith to different one in the same Spirit; and gifts of healing to another in the same Spirit; ¹⁰ and workings of miracles to another; and prophecy to another; and the discernings of spirits to another; varieties of languages to a different one; and the translation of foreign languages to another; ¹¹ but the one and the same Spirit is working all these things, sectioning off to each one in his own way just-as he wills.
¹² For just-as the body is one and has many members and all the members of the one body, being many, are one body; so also is the Christ.

⁹ And he has said to me, My grace is enough for you; for my power is completed in weakness. Therefore I will rather gladly be boasting in my weaknesses, in order that the power of the Christ might reside upon me. ¹⁰ Hence I am delighting in weaknesses, in insults, in calamities, in persecutions, in distresses, on behalf of Christ; for whenever I am weak, then I am mighty.

²⁹ As for the sons of Merari, you will number them by their families, by their fathers' houses.

²³ from thirty years old and upward until fifty years old you will number them, all who enter in to wait upon the service, to do the work in the tent of meeting.
²⁴ This is the service of the Gershonite families, in serving and in bearing burdens:

³⁷ These are those who were numbered of the Kohathite families, all who served in the tent of meeting, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the commandment of Jehovah by Moses.

⁶ Now having assorted gifts according to the grace which was given to us; if prophecy, then prophesy according to the analogy of the faith; ⁷ if service, in the service; if he who is teaching, in the teaching; ⁸ if he who is encouraging, in the encouragement; he who is giving, in liberality; he who is governing, do in diligence; he who is showing-mercy to others, do with joyfulness.

⁴ Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. ⁵ And there are diversities of services and the same Lord. ⁶ And there are diversities of workings, but it is the same God, who is working all things in all. ⁷ But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for what is advantageous: ⁸ for the word of wisdom is given to one through the Spirit, and the word of knowledge to another according to the same Spirit; ⁹ and miraculous faith to different one in the same Spirit; and gifts of healing to another in the same Spirit; ¹⁰ and workings of miracles to another; and prophecy to another; and the discernings of spirits to another; varieties of languages to a different one; and the translation of foreign languages to another; ¹¹ but the one and the same Spirit is working all these things, sectioning off to each one in his own way just-as he wills.
¹² For just-as the body is one and has many members and all the members of the one body, being many, are one body; so also is the Christ. ¹³ For also, we were all immersed into one body, in one Spirit, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bondservants or free men, and all were made to drink into one Spirit. ¹⁴ For the body is not one member, but many. ¹⁵ If the foot says, Because I am not the hand, I am not from the body; contrary to this, is it not from the body? ¹⁶ And if the ear says, Because I am not the eye, I am not from the body; contrary to this, is it not from the body? ¹⁷ If the whole body were an eye, where is the hearing? If the whole body were hearing, where is the sense of smell? ¹⁸ But now God has placed the members in the body, each one of them, just-as he willed. ¹⁹ Now if they were all one member, where is the body? ²⁰ But now they are indeed many members, but one body. ²¹ Now the eye is not able to say to the hand, I have no need of you; or again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. ²² But much rather now, those members of the body that seem to be weaker are necessary; ²³ and those things of the body which we think to be more dishonored, we place even-more honor upon these, and our indecent parts have even-more decency; ²⁴ but our decent parts have no need. But God mixed the body together, having given even-more honor to the ones which are lacking; ²⁵ in order that no splits should be in the body, but in order that the members should have the same anxiety on behalf of one another. ²⁶ And if one member is suffering, all the members are suffering together with it. If one member is glorified, all the members are rejoicing together with it. ²⁷ Now you are the body of Christ and members individually. ²⁸ And indeed God placed some in the congregation of believers, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, thereafter miracles, thereafter gifts of healing, helps, those who pilot others, those with varieties of languages. ²⁹ All are not apostles, are they? All are not prophets, are they? All are not teachers, are they? All are not workers of miracles, are they? ³⁰ All do not have gifts of healing, do they? All do not speak with foreign languages, do they? All do not translate, do they? ³¹ But be zealous for the better gifts. And I will show to you still a surpassingly-better way.

³⁹ All who were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron numbered at the commandment of Jehovah, by their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty-two thousand.

¹⁴ Why is it? Narrow is the gate and pressed is the way, which is leading to life and few are those who are finding it.

¹⁶ So the last will be first, and the first last; for many are invited but few are chosen.

¹⁵ Then the Pharisees traveled away and took counsel on how they might ensnare him in his speech.

⁴⁷ But the Levites according to the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them.

⁵⁴ Thus did the sons of Israel. According to all that Jehovah commanded Moses, so they did.

³³ But the Levites were not numbered among the sons of Israel, as Jehovah commanded Moses.

⁵¹ And Moses gave the redemption-money to Aaron and to his sons, according to the word of Jehovah, as Jehovah commanded Moses.

²¹ And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

³¹ And this is the charge of their burden, according to all their service in the tent of meeting: the boards of the tabernacle and the bars of it and the pillars of it and the sockets of it,

⁴¹ These are those who were numbered of the families of the sons of Gershon, all who served in the tent of meeting, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the commandment of Jehovah.

⁴⁵ These are those who were numbered of the families of the sons of Merari, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the commandment of Jehovah by Moses.

² And the Spirit of Jehovah will rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Jehovah. ³ And his delight will be in the fear of Jehovah. And he will not judge according to the sight of his eyes, nor decide according to the hearing of his ears, ⁴ but with righteousness he will judge the poor and decide with equity for the meek of the earth.
And he will kill* the earth with the rod of his mouth and with the breath of his lips he will kill the wicked.

¹ Behold, my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul delights. I have put my Spirit upon him, he will bring forth justice to the Gentiles. ² He will not cry, nor lift up his voice, nor cause it to be heard in the street. ³ A bruised reed he will not break and a dimly burning wick he will not quench, but he will bring forth justice in truth. ⁴ He will not fail nor be discouraged till he has set justice in the earth. And in his name Gentiles will hope.
⁵ Thus says God, Jehovah, he who created the heavens and stretched them forth, he who spread abroad the earth and what comes out of it, he who gives breath to the people upon it and spirit to those who walk in it, ⁶ I, Jehovah, have called you in righteousness and will hold your hand and will keep you and give you for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles, ⁷ to open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon and those who sit in darkness out of the prison-house.

¹ Listen, O isles, to me and listen, you* peoples from far. Jehovah has called me from the womb. From the guts of my mother he has made mention of my name. ² And he has made my mouth like a sharp sword. He has hid me in the shadow of his hand and he has made me a polished shaft. He has kept me close in his quiver.
³ And he said to me, You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will be glorified. ⁴ But I said, I have labored in vain. I have spent my strength for nothing and vanity. Yet surely the justice due to me is with Jehovah and my recompense with my God.
⁵ And now says Jehovah who formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him and that Israel be gathered to him (for I am honorable in the eyes of Jehovah and my God has become my strength), ⁶ yes, he says, It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the preserved of Israel. I will also give you for a light to the Gentiles, that you may be my salvation to the end of the earth.
⁷ Jehovah says thus, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despises, to him whom the nation abhors, to a servant of rulers. Kings will see and arise, rulers and they will worship, because of Jehovah who is faithful, even the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.
⁸ Jehovah says thus, In an acceptable time I have heard you and in a day of salvation I have helped you. And I will preserve you and give you for a covenant of the people, to raise up the land, to make them inherit the desolate heritages,

⁴ For just-as we have many members in one body, and all the members do not have the same function; ⁵ so we, the many, are one body in Christ, and every one members of one another.
