¹⁴ House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from Jehovah. ¹⁵ Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep and the idle soul will suffer hunger.
¹⁶ He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul. He who is careless of his ways will die.
¹⁷ He who has pity upon a poor man lends to Jehovah and he will repay him his good deed.
¹⁸ Chasten your son because there is hope and do not let your soul spare for his crying.
¹⁹ A man of great wrath will bear the penalty, because if you deliver him, you must do it yet again.
²⁰ Hear counsel and receive instruction, that you may be wise in your latter end.
²¹ There are many devices in a man's heart, but the counsel of Jehovah, that will stand.
²² What makes a man to be desired is his kindness and a poor man is better than a liar.
²³ The fear of Jehovah is life to a man and he will abide satisfied. He will not be visited with evil.
²⁴ The sluggard buries his hand in the dish and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.
²⁵ Strike a scoffer and a simple man will learn prudence. And reprove he who has understanding and he will understand knowledge.
²⁶ He who does violence to his father and chases away his mother, is a son that causes shame and brings reproach.
²⁷ To err from the words of knowledge, cease, my son, to hear instruction.
²⁸ A worthless witness mocks at justice and the mouth of the wicked swallows wickedness.
²⁹ Judgments are prepared for scoffers and stripes for the back of fools.

¹⁷ Now therefore know and consider what you will do, for evil is determined against our master and against all his house. For he is such a worthless fellow that a man cannot speak to him.

²⁵ I beseech you, do not let my lord regard this worthless fellow, even Nabal, for as his name is, so is he. Nabal is his name and senselessness is with him. But I your handmaid saw not the young men of my lord whom you sent.

¹¹ But as for me, I will walk in my integrity. Redeem me and be merciful to me.

²⁶ All the day long he deals graciously and lends and his seed is blessed.

²⁶ A righteous man is a guide to his neighbor, but the way of the wicked makes them go-astray.

² He who walks in his uprightness fears Jehovah, but he who is perverse in his ways despises him.

¹⁶ Better is little with the fear of Jehovah, than great treasure and trouble with it.

³ For your* hands are defiled with blood and your* fingers with iniquity. Your* lips have spoken lies. Your* tongue mutters wickedness.

³¹ Because of this, I am saying to you, Every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven to men, but the blasphemy of the Spirit will not be forgiven to men. ³² And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, not in the age which is now, nor in the future one. ³³ Either make^*\'b0 the tree good and its fruit good; or make^*\'b0 the tree rotten and its fruit rotten; for the tree is known from its fruit. ³⁴ Offspring of vipers! How are you, being evil, able to speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth is speaking.

²⁶ For what is a man profited, if he gains the whole world, and should forfeit his soul? Or what shall a man give as an exchange for his soul?

⁵ Listen, my beloved brethren. Did God not choose the poor of the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which he promised to those who love him? ⁶ But you have dishonored the poor. Are the rich not oppressing you? And are they themselves not dragging you into the courts?

⁵ If I have walked with falsehood and my foot has hastened to deceit

¹⁶ Because their feet run to evil and they make haste to shed blood.

²¹ The lips of a righteous man feeds many, but the foolish die for lack of understanding.

²⁹ He who is slow to anger is of great understanding, but he who is hasty of spirit exalts folly.

⁵ The thoughts of a diligent man lead only to abundance, but everyone who is hasty, only to want.

⁸ Do not go forth hastily to strive. What will you do in the end of it when your neighbor has put you to shame?

²⁰ A faithful man will abound with blessings, but he who makes haste to be rich will not be unpunished.

²² He who has an evil eye hastens after riches and does not know that want will come upon him.

²⁰ See a man who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

⁹ Do not be hasty in your spirit to be angry, because anger rests in the bosom of fools.

⁹ And further, because the Preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge. Yes, he pondered and sought out and set in order many proverbs.

¹¹ When the limbs of it are withered, they will be broken off. The women will come and set them on fire, for it is a people of no understanding. Therefore he who made them will not have compassion upon them and he who formed them will show them no favor.

¹⁶ Therefore thus says the lord Jehovah, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation, a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner- stone, a sure foundation. He who believes in him will never be shamed.

⁶ My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you, that you will be no priest to me. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your sons.

³ And they will be doing these things to you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.

² For I testify to them that they have a zeal of God, but not according to full knowledge.

⁹ And I am praying for this: in order that your love may abound still more and more in full knowledge and all comprehension;

⁶ And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food and that it was a delight to the eyes and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate. And she also gave to her husband with her and he ate. ⁷ And the eyes of them were both opened and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves aprons.
⁸ And they heard the sound of Jehovah God walking in the garden in the cool of the day. And the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of Jehovah God among the trees of the garden.
⁹ And Jehovah God called to the man and said to him, Where are you?
¹⁰ And he said, I heard your sound in the garden and I was afraid, because I was naked. And I hid myself.
¹¹ And he said, Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree, of which I commanded you that you should not eat?
¹² And the man said, The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree and I ate.

⁵ but he did not have respect to Cain and to his offering. And Cain was furious and his countenance fell.
⁶ And Jehovah said to Cain, Why are you furious? And why has your countenance fallen? ⁷ If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin crouches at the door. Its desire will be for you and you should rule over it.
⁸ And Cain told Abel his brother. And it happened, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him. ⁹ And Jehovah said to Cain, Where is Abel your brother? And he said, I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?
¹⁰ And he said, What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood cries to me from the ground. ¹¹ And now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand. ¹² When you till the ground, it will not again yield to you its strength. You will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth.
¹³ And Cain said to Jehovah, My punishment is greater than I can bear. ¹⁴ Behold, you have driven me out this day from the face of the ground and I will be hid from your face and I will be a vagrant and a wanderer in the earth. And it will happen, that whoever finds me will kill me.

¹⁹ And Korah assembled all the congregation against them to the door of the tent of meeting. And the glory of Jehovah appeared to all the congregation.
²⁰ And Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, ²¹ Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment. ²² And they fell upon their faces and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, will one man sin and will you be angry with all the congregation?
²³ And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, ²⁴ Speak to the congregation, saying, You* get up from about the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan and Abiram.
²⁵ And Moses rose up and went to Dathan and Abiram and the elders of Israel followed him. ²⁶ And he spoke to the congregation, saying, Depart, I beseech you*, from the tents of these wicked men and touch nothing of theirs, lest you* are consumed in all their sins. ²⁷ So they got up from the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan and Abiram, on every side. And Dathan and Abiram came out and stood at the door of their tents and their wives and their sons and their little ones.
²⁸ And Moses said, Hereby you* will know that Jehovah has sent me to do all these works, for it is not of my own mind. ²⁹ If these men die the common death of all men, or if they are visited after the visitation of all men, then Jehovah has not sent me. ³⁰ But if Jehovah makes a new thing and the ground opens its mouth and swallows them up, with all that pertains to them and they go down alive into Sheol, then you* will understand that these men have despised Jehovah.
³¹ And it happened, as he made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground split asunder that was under them, ³² and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up and their households and all the men that pertained to Korah and all their goods. ³³ So they and all that pertained to them, went down alive into Sheol. And the earth closed upon them and they perished from among the assembly.
³⁴ And all Israel that were all around them fled at the cry of them, for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up. ³⁵ And fire came out from Jehovah and devoured the two hundred and fifty men who offered the incense.
³⁶ And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, ³⁷ Speak to Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning and scatter you the fire yonder, for they are holy, ³⁸ even the censers of these sinners against their own lives and let them be made beaten plates for a covering of the altar, for they offered them before Jehovah, therefore they are holy and they will be a sign to the sons of Israel.
³⁹ And Eleazar the priest took the brazen censers, which those who were burnt had offered and they beat them out for a covering of the altar, ⁴⁰ to be a memorial to the sons of Israel, to the end that no stranger, who is not of the seed of Aaron, come near to burn incense before Jehovah, that he not be as Korah and as his company, as Jehovah spoke to him by Moses.
⁴¹ But on the morrow all the congregation of the sons of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, You* have killed the people of Jehovah.

¹² And the sons of Israel spoke to Moses, saying, Behold, we perish, we are undone, we are all undone. ¹³ Every man who comes near, who comes near to the tabernacle of Jehovah, dies. Shall we all of us perish?

¹³ And Samuel said to Saul, You have done foolishly. You have not kept the commandment of Jehovah your God, which he commanded you. For now Jehovah would have established your kingdom upon Israel until everlasting,

²³ For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft and stubbornness is as idolatry and household-idol. Because you have rejected the word of Jehovah, he has also rejected you from being king.

¹³ And Saul said to him, Why have you* conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse, in that you have given him bread and a sword and have inquired of God for him, that he should rise against me to lie in wait as at this day?
¹⁴ Then Ahimelech answered the king and said, And who among all your servants is so faithful as David, who is the king's son-in-law and is taken into your council and is honorable in your house? ¹⁵ Have I today begun to inquire of God for him? Be it far from me. Do not let the king impute anything to his servant, nor to all the house of my father, for your servant knows nothing of all this, less or more.
¹⁶ And the king said, You will surely die, Ahimelech, you and all your father's house. ¹⁷ And the king said to the guard who stood about him, Turn and kill the priests of Jehovah, because their hand also is with David and because they knew that he fled and did not disclose it to me. But the servants of the king would not put forth their hand to fall upon the priests of Jehovah.
¹⁸ And the king said to Doeg, Turn and fall upon the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned and he fell upon the priests and he killed on that day eighty-five persons who wore a linen ephod. ¹⁹ And Nob, the city of the priests, he killed* with the edge of the sword, both men and women, sons and nursing-babes and oxen and donkeys and sheep, with the edge of the sword.
²⁰ And one of the sons of Ahimelech, the son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped and fled after David. ²¹ And Abiathar told David that Saul had slain Jehovah's priests. ²² And David said to Abiathar, I knew on that day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would surely tell Saul. I have occasioned the death of all the persons of your father's house. ²³ Abide with me. Do not fear, for he who seeks my life seeks your life, for with me you will be in safeguard.

⁴² And he said to him, Jehovah says thus, Because you have let go out of your hand the man whom I had devoted to destruction, therefore your life will go for his life and your people for his people. ⁴³ And the King of Israel went to his house heavy and displeased and came to Samaria.

⁹ So the King of Israel went and the king of Judah and the king of Edom. And they made a circuit of seven days' journey and there was no water for the army, nor for the beasts that followed them. ¹⁰ And the King of Israel said, Alas! For Jehovah has called these three kings together to deliver them into the hand of Moab.

³³ And while he was yet talking with them, behold, the messenger came down to him and he said, Behold, this evil is of Jehovah. Why should I wait for Jehovah any longer?

⁹ For the eyes of Jehovah run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong to those whose heart is perfect toward him. In this you have done foolishly, for from hereafter you will have wars.
¹⁰ Then Asa was angry with the seer and put him in the prison-house. For he was in a rage with him because of this thing. And Asa oppressed some of the people at the same time.

¹ Do not inflame yourself because of evildoers, nor be envious against those who work unrighteousness.

⁷ Rest in Jehovah and wait patiently for him. Do not inflame yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who makes wicked devices.

³ The integrity of the upright will guide them, but the perverseness of the treacherous will destroy them.

²¹ And they will pass through it, greatly distressed and hungry. And it will happen that, when they will be hungry, they will be angry and curse by their king and by their God and turn their faces upward. ²² And they will look to the earth, and behold, distress and darkness, the gloom of anguish and into thick darkness to be driven away.

⁴⁵ But the Jews, having seen the crowds, were filled up from jealousy, and were contradicting the things being spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming him.
⁴⁶ But Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first be spoken to you. But since you are thrusting it away from yourselves and are judging yourselves unworthy of everlasting life. Behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

⁹ And men were burnt with great heat and the men blasphemed the name of God who has the authority over these wounds, and they did not repent to give him glory.
¹⁰ And the fifth messenger poured out his bowl upon the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became darkened, and they were gnawing their tongues out of pain, ¹¹ and they blasphemed the God of heaven out of their pains and out of their sores, and they did not repent from their works.

¹⁵ My brothers have dealt deceitfully as a brook, as the channel of brooks that pass away, ¹⁶ which are black because of the ice, in which the snow hides itself. ¹⁷ What time they grow warm, they vanish. When it is hot, they are consumed out of their place.
¹⁸ The caravans that travel by the way of them turn aside. They go up into the waste and perish. ¹⁹ The caravans of Tema looked, the traveling of Sheba waited for them. ²⁰ They were put to shame because they had hoped. They came there and were confounded.
²¹ For now you* are nothing. You* see a terror and are afraid. ²² Did I say, Give to me? Or, Offer a present for me from your* substance? ²³ Or, Deliver me from the adversary's hand? Or, Redeem me from the hand of the oppressors?

¹³ He has put my brothers far from me and my acquaintances are entirely estranged from me. ¹⁴ My kinsfolk have failed and my familiar friends have forgotten me. ¹⁵ Those who dwell in my house and my maids, reckon me for a stranger; I am an alien in their sight. ¹⁶ I call to my servant and he gives me no answer. I entreat him with my mouth. ¹⁷ My breath is strange to my wife and my supplication to the sons of my own mother.

¹⁵ The rich man's wealth is his strong city. The destruction of the poor is their poverty.

²⁰ The poor man is hated even by his own neighbor, but the rich man has many friends.

¹³ And not many days after, the younger son gathered it all together and went-abroad into a far region, and he squandered his estate with riotous living there. ¹⁴ Now having spent all, there became a mighty famine throughout that region, and he began to have lack of things. ¹⁵ And he traveled and joined himself to one of the citizens of that region, and he sent him into his field to feed swine.

¹ You will not take up a false report. Do not put your hand with the wicked man to be an unrighteous witness.

¹¹ You will not take the name of Jehovah your God in vain, for Jehovah will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.

¹⁶ If an unrighteous witness rises up against any man to testify against him of wrong-doing, ¹⁷ then both the men, between whom the controversy is, will stand before Jehovah, before the priests and the judges that will be in those days,
¹⁸ and the judges will make diligent inquiry. And behold, if the witness is a false witness and has testified falsely against his brother, ¹⁹ then you* will do to him, as he had thought to do to his brother. So will you put away the evil from the midst of you.
²⁰ And those who remain will hear and fear and will hereafter commit no more any such evil in the midst of you. ²¹ And your eyes will not pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

⁹ Now therefore do not hold him guiltless, for you are a wise man and you will know what you ought to do to him and you will bring his hoar head down to Sheol with blood.

³ What will be given to you and what will be done more to you, you deceitful tongue? ⁴ Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.

¹⁹ a false witness who breathes-out lies and he who sows discord among brothers.

⁹ A false witness will not be unpunished and he who breathes-out lies will perish.

²⁸ A false witness will perish, but the man who hears will speak so as to endure.

²⁴ And the king commanded and they brought those men who had accused Daniel and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their sons and their wives. And the lions had the mastery of them and broke all their bones in pieces, before they came to the bottom of the den.

²⁰ and you* will say, Moreover, behold, your servant Jacob is behind us. For he said, I will appease him with the present that goes before me and afterward I will see his face. Perhaps he will accept me.

⁶ And Joseph was the governor over the land. It was he who sold to all the people of the land. And Joseph's brothers came and bowed themselves to him with their faces to the earth.

¹⁹ And he said to the king, Do not let my lord impute iniquity to me, neither you remember what your servant did perversely the day that my lord the king went out of Jerusalem, that the king should take it to his heart. ²⁰ For your servant knows that I have sinned. Therefore, behold, I have come this day the first of all the house of Joseph to go down to meet my lord the king.
²¹ But Abishai the son of Zeruiah answered and said, Shall not Shimei be put to death for this, because he cursed Jehovah's anointed? ²² And David said, What have I to do with you*, you* sons of Zeruiah, that you* should this day be adversaries to me? Shall there any man be put to death this day in Israel? For I do not know that I am this day king over Israel? ²³ And the king said to Shimei, You will not die. And the king swore to him.
²⁴ And Mephibosheth the son of Saul came down to meet the king. And he had neither dressed his feet, nor trimmed his beard, nor washed his clothes, from the day the king departed until the day he came home in peace. ²⁵ And it happened, when he came to Jerusalem to meet the king, that the king said to him, Why did you not go with me, Mephibosheth?
²⁶ And he answered, My lord, O king, my servant deceived me. For your servant said, I will saddle for me a donkey, that I may ride on it and go with the king, because your servant is lame. ²⁷ And he has slandered your servant to my lord the king. But my lord the king is as a messenger of God; do therefore what is good in your eyes. ²⁸ For all my father's house were but dead men before my lord the king. Yet you set your servant among those who ate at your own table. What right therefore have I yet that I should cry any more to the king? ²⁹ And the king said to him, Why do you speak any more of your matters? I say, you and Ziba divide the land. ³⁰ And Mephibosheth said to the king, Yes, let him take all, inasmuch as my lord the king has come in peace to his own house.
³¹ And Barzillai the Gileadite came down from Rogelim. And he went over the Jordan with the king to conduct him over the Jordan. ³² Now Barzillai was a very aged man, even eighty years old. And he had provided the king with sustenance while he lay at Mahanaim, for he was a very great man of wealth. ³³ And the king said to Barzillai, You come over with me and I will sustain you with me in Jerusalem.
³⁴ And Barzillai said to the king, How many are the days of the years of my life that I should go up with the king to Jerusalem? ³⁵ I am this day eighty years old. Can I discern between good and bad? Can your servant taste what I eat or what I drink? Can I hear any more the voice of singing men and singing women? Why then should your servant be yet a burden to my lord the king?
³⁶ Your servant would but just go over the Jordan with the king and why should the king recompense it to me with such a reward? ³⁷ Let your servant, I beseech you, turn back again, that I may die in my own city by the grave of my father and my mother. But, behold, your servant Chimham, let him go over with my lord the king and do to him what will seem good to you.
³⁸ And the king answered, Chimham will go over with me and I will do to him what will seem good to you. And whatever you will require of me, that I will do for you. ³⁹ And all the people went over the Jordan and the king went over. And the king kissed Barzillai and blessed him and he returned to his own place.

²⁴ I smiled on them when they had no confidence and they did not cast down the light of my countenance. ²⁵ I chose out their way and sat as chief and dwelt as a king in the army, as a man who comforts the mourners.

¹² And the daughter of Tyre will adore him with a gift. The rich among the people will entreat your favor.

¹⁵ Life is in the light of the king's countenance and his favor is as a cloud of the latter rain.

⁸ A bribe is a precious stone in the eyes of him who has it; wherever it turns, it prospers.

¹⁶ A man's gift makes room for him and brings him before great men.

¹² The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion, but his favor is as dew upon the grass.

¹⁴ A gift in secret pacifies anger and a present in the bosom, strong wrath.

²⁶ Many seek the ruler's favor, but a man's justice is from Jehovah.

¹¹ And they came into the house and saw the young child with Mary, his mother. They fell down and worshiped him. Opening their treasures, they offered gifts of gold and frankincense and myrrh to him.

²³ For the compensations of sin is death, but the gift of God is everlasting life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹¹ Those I love and my friends stand apart from my plague and my kinsmen stand afar off.

⁸ You have put my acquaintances far from me. You have made me an abomination to them. I am shut up and I cannot come forth.

¹⁸ You have put beloved and friend far from me and my acquaintances into darkness.

²³ A poor man uses entreaties, but a rich man answers roughly.

³⁸ And he cried out, saying, Jesus, son of David, show-mercy to me. ³⁹ And those who precede were rebuking him, in order that he should be silent, but he was crying out much more, Son of David, show-mercy to me!
⁴⁰ Now when Jesus stood still, he commanded him to be led to him, and when he drew near, he asked him,

⁶ But you have dishonored the poor. Are the rich not oppressing you? And are they themselves not dragging you into the courts?

¹⁵ But if a brother or sister is naked and may be deficient of daily nourishment, ¹⁶ and anyone out of you may say to them, Go away in peace. Be warmed and be fed, but do not give to them the body’s requirements; what is the profit?

¹⁷ But whoever has the world’s good life and should view his brother having need and then should lock his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? ¹⁸ My little-children, do not love in word, nor with the tongue, but in work and in truth.

¹¹ Moreover by them your servant is warned. There is great reward in keeping them.

¹ My son, if you will receive my words and lay up my commandments with you, ² so as to incline your ear to wisdom and apply your heart to understanding, ³ because, if you cry after discernment and lift up your voice for understanding, ⁴ if you seek her as silver and search for her as for hidden treasures, ⁵ then you will understand the fear of Jehovah and find the knowledge of God.
⁶ Because Jehovah gives wisdom. Out of his mouth is knowledge and understanding. ⁷ He lays up sound-wisdom for the upright, a shield to those who walk in integrity, ⁸ that he may guard the paths of justice and preserve the way of his holy ones. ⁹ Then you will understand righteousness and justice and uprightness, yes, every good path.

¹⁸ She is a tree of life to those who lay hold upon her. And everyone who retains her is fortunate.

²¹ My son, do not let them depart from your eyes. Keep sound-wisdom and discretion,

⁴ And he taught me and said to me, Let your heart retain my words. Keep my commandments and live.

⁶ Do not forsake her and she will preserve you. Love her and she will keep you.

²¹ Do not let them depart from your eyes. Keep them in the midst of your heart.

³⁵ Because he who finds me finds life and will obtain favor of Jehovah.

¹⁶ Why is there a price in the hand of a fool to buy wisdom, since he has no understanding?

¹⁸ Because it is a pleasant thing if you keep them within you, if they are established together upon your lips.

²⁶ I will also give you* a new heart and I will put a new spirit within you*. And I will take away the stony heart out of your* flesh and I will give you* a heart of flesh.

²⁵ He who loves his life will be losing it, and he who hates his life in this world will be keeping it to everlasting life.

²¹ He who holds my commandments and is keeping them, that one is he who loves me and he who loves me will be loved by my Father and I will love him and will be manifesting myself to him.

¹⁰ For he who wills to love life and to see good days, let his tongue cease from speaking evil, and also his lips not to speak treachery.

⁵ A false witness will not be unpunished and he who breathes-out lies will not escape.

¹⁵ The elder and the honorable man, he is the head. And the prophet who teaches lies, he is the tail. ¹⁶ For those who lead this people make them go-astray and those who are led by them are destroyed.
¹⁷ Therefore the Lord will not rejoice over their young men, nor will he have compassion on their fatherless and widows. For everyone is profane and an evildoer and every mouth does senselessness.
For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

²⁵ I have heard what the prophets have said, who prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed. ²⁶ How long will this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies, even the prophets of the deceit of their own heart? ²⁷ Who think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbor, as their fathers forgot my name for Baal.
²⁸ The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream. And he who has my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the straw to the wheat? says Jehovah. ²⁹ Is not my word like fire? says Jehovah and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?
³⁰ Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, says Jehovah, who steal my words each one from his neighbor. ³¹ Behold, I am against the prophets, says Jehovah, who use their tongues and say, He says. ³² Behold, I am against those who prophesy lying dreams, says Jehovah and tell them. And make my people go-astray by their lies and by their vain boasting. Yet I sent them not, nor commanded them, neither do they profit this people at all, says Jehovah.

¹⁵ Then the prophet Jeremiah said to Hananiah the prophet, Hear now, Hananiah. Jehovah has not sent you, but you make this people to trust in a lie. ¹⁶ Therefore Jehovah says thus, Behold, I will send you away from the face of the earth. This year you will die because you have spoken rebellion against Jehovah. ¹⁷ So Hananiah the prophet died the same year in the seventh month.

³¹ Send to all those of the captivity, saying, Jehovah says thus concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite: Because Shemaiah has prophesied to you* and I did not send him and he has caused you* to trust in a lie, ³² therefore Jehovah says thus: Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his seed. He will not have a man to dwell among this people, nor will he behold the good that I will do to my people, says Jehovah, because he has spoken rebellion against Jehovah.

²² Because with lies you* have grieved the heart of the righteous, whom I have not made sad and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way and be saved alive.

⁸ And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will be consuming with the breath of his mouth and will be doing-away-with him by the appearing of his presence; ⁹ even he, whose presence is according to the working of the Adversary in every power and in signs and in lying wonders, ¹⁰ and in all deception of unrighteousness in those who are perishing, because they did not accept the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

¹ But the Spirit expressly says, In later times some will be withdrawing from the faith, taking-heed to misleading spirits and teachings of demons, ² through the hypocrisy from the speakers of lies, having been branded in their own conscience;

¹ But false prophets happened to be also among the people, as false teachers will also be among you, who will be smuggling in sects of destruction, denying even the Master who bought them, bringing quick destruction upon themselves. ² And many will be following their unbridled-lusts, because of whom the way of the truth will be blasphemed. \ulnone\nosupersub ³ And in their greed, they will be merchants of you with fabricated words; to whom the condemnation from long-ago is not idle, and their destruction will not be slumbering.

²⁰ And the beast was clutched and with him the false prophet who made the signs in his sight, in which he misled those who had received the mark of the beast and those who are worshiping his image. The two were cast while living into the lake of fire which is burning in brimstone.

⁸ But to the cowardly and unbelieving and sinners and detestable and murderers and fornicators and sorcerers and idolaters and to all the false witnesses, their part will be in the lake which is burning with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.

¹⁵ The dogs and the sorcerers and the fornicators and the murderers and the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices a lie are outside.

³ They make the king glad with their wickedness and the rulers with their lies.
⁴ They are all adulterers. They are as an oven heated by the baker. He ceases to stir the fire, from the kneading of the dough, until it is leavened. ⁵ On the day of our king the rulers made themselves sick with the heat of wine. He draws out his hand with scoffers.

¹ Rejoice not, O Israel, for joy like the peoples, for you have played the prostitute, departing from your God. You have loved hire upon every grain-floor.

³ You* who put far away the evil day and cause the seat of violence to come near, ⁴ who lie upon beds of ivory and stretch themselves upon their couches and eat the lambs out of the flock and the calves out of the midst of the stall, ⁵ who scatter-words to the mouth of the harp, who invent for themselves instruments of music, like David, ⁶ who drink wine in bowls and anoint themselves with the chief oils, but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.

¹⁹ Now there was a certain rich man and he was clothing himself in purple and fine-linen, having been radiantly joyous daily.

⁹ Be miserable and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy be turned to gloom.

I will nourish you* and your* little ones. And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.

¹⁶ A fool's anger is instantly known, but a prudent man conceals shame.

¹⁸ A wrathful man stirs up contention, but he who is slow to anger appeases strife.

³² He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty and he who rules his spirit, than he who takes a city.

¹⁴ The beginning of strife is like letting out water. Therefore leave off contention, before there is quarreling.

³ It is an honor for a man to cease from strife, but every fool will be quarreling.

²¹ If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink.

⁴⁴ But I am saying to you, Love^*\'b0 your enemies, speak well of those who curse you, do good things to those who hate you and pray on behalf of those who are railing at you and are persecuting you. ⁴⁵ Do this that you may become sons of your Father who is in the heavens, because his sun rises upon the evil and the good and it rains upon the righteous and the unrighteous.

²¹ Then Peter came near to him and said, Lord, how-often will my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Until seven-times?
²² Jesus says to him, I do not say to you, Until seven times, but, until seventy-times seven-times.

¹⁸ If possible, what is from you should be at peace with all men.
¹⁹ Beloved, do not be avenging yourselves, but give a chance for the wrath of God; for it has been written, ‘Vengeance is for me. I will be repaying, says the Lord.’ ²⁰ Therefore, if your enemy hungers, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for while doing this, you will be piling up hot-coals of fire upon his head. ²¹ Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

³² and become kind to one another, affectionate, forgiving others in yourselves, just-as God also forgave us in Christ.

⁴ he will be as the light of the morning, when the sun rises, a morning without clouds, when the tender grass springs out of the earth, through clear shining after rain.

⁸ Then the king returned out of the palace garden into the place of the banquet of wine and Haman was fallen upon the couch on which Esther was. Then the king said, Will he even force the queen before me in the house? As the word went out of the king's mouth, they covered Haman's face.

⁶ He will come down like rain upon the mowed grass, as showers that water the earth.

³ like the dew of Hermon, that comes down upon the mountains of Zion. Because there Jehovah commanded the blessing, even life everlasting.

¹⁴ The wrath of a king is messengers of death, but a wise man will pacify it.

¹ And it happened after this, that Absalom the son of David had a fair sister whose name was Tamar. And Amnon the son of David loved her. ² And Amnon was so frustrated that he fell sick because of his sister Tamar. For she was a virgin and it seemed hard to Amnon to do anything to her.
³ But Amnon had a friend whose name was Jonadab, the son of Shimeah, David's brother. And Jonadab was a very sly man. ⁴ And he said to him, Why, O son of the king, are you emaciated this way from day to day? Will you not tell me? And Amnon said to him, I love Tamar, my brother Absalom's sister.
⁵ And Jonadab said to him, Lie down on your bed and pretend to be sick. And when your father comes to see you, say to him, Let my sister Tamar come, I beseech you and give me bread to eat and dress the food in my sight, that I may see it and eat it from her hand.
⁶ So Amnon lay down and pretend to be sick. And when the king came to see him, Amnon said to the king, Let my sister Tamar come, I beseech you and make me a couple of cakes in my sight, that I may eat from her hand. ⁷ Then David sent home to Tamar, saying, Go now to your brother Amnon's house and make food for him.
⁸ So Tamar went to her brother Amnon's house and he was laid down. And she took dough and kneaded it and made cakes in his sight and baked the cakes. ⁹ And she took the pan and poured them out before him, but he refused to eat. And Amnon said, Have all men out from me. And they went out every man from him.
¹⁰ And Amnon said to Tamar, Bring the food into the chamber that I may eat from your hand. And Tamar took the cakes that she had made and brought them into the chamber to Amnon her brother. And she laid her hand on her head and went her way, crying aloud as she went.

Now therefore, I beseech you, speak to the king, because he will not withhold me from you. ¹⁴ However he would not listen to her voice, but being stronger than she, he forced her and lay with her.

¹ And Isaac called Jacob and blessed him and ordered him and said to him, You will not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan. ² Arise, go to Paddan-aram, to the house of Bethuel your mother's father and take a wife from there of the daughters of Laban your mother's brother. ³ And God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and multiply you, that you may be a company of peoples, ⁴ and give you the blessing of Abraham, to you and to your seed with you, that you may inherit the land of your travels, which God gave to Abraham.

¹⁶ then it will be, in the day that he causes his sons to inherit what he has, that he may not make the son of the beloved the firstborn before the son of the one hated, who is the firstborn.

²³ So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that Jehovah spoke to Moses. And Joshua gave it for an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land had rest from war.

⁶ Acknowledge him in all your ways and he will direct your paths.

²⁵ Strength and dignity are her clothing and she laughs at the time to come.

²⁷ She looks well to the traveling of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
²⁸ Her sons rise up and call her fortunate. Her husband also and he praises her.
²⁹ Many daughters have done worthily, but you excel them all. ³⁰ Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears Jehovah, she will be praised.
³¹ Give her of the fruit of her hands and let her works praise her in the gates.

¹⁴ Behold, I hold ready to come to you the third-time, and I will not be encumbering you; for I am not seeking the things of you, but you; for the children ought not to store up for the parents, but the parents for the children.

¹³ This is the end of the matter, all has been heard: Fear God and keep his commandments, because this is the whole of man.

²³ But this thing I commanded them, saying, Listen to my voice and I will be your* God and you* will be my people. And walk you* in all the way that I command you*, that it may be well with you*.

¹⁹ Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.

³ And we know in this that we have known him; if we are keeping his commandments. ⁴ He who says, I have known him and is not keeping his commandments, is a liar and the truth is not in this one;

²² and whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we are keeping his commandments and are practicing the things which are pleasing in his sight.

³ For this is the love of God, in order that we should keep his commandments and his commandments are not burdensome.

¹⁴ The fortunate ones are practicing his commandments, in order that their authority will be in the Tree of Life and they may enter in by the gates into the city.

⁷ If there is with you a poor man, one of your brothers, within any of your gates in your land which Jehovah your God gives you, you will not harden your heart, nor shut your hand from your poor brother, ⁸ but you will surely open your hand to him and will surely lend him sufficient for his need which he wants.
⁹ Beware that there not be a worthless thought in your heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand and your eye be evil against your poor brother and you give him nothing and he cry to Jehovah against you and it is sin to you. ¹⁰ You will surely give him and your heart will not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing Jehovah your God will bless you in all your work and in all that you put your hand to.
¹¹ For the poor will never cease out of the land. Therefore I command you, saying, You will surely open your hand to your brother, to your needy and to your poor, in your land.
¹² If your brother, a Hebrew man, or a Hebrew woman, is sold to you and serves you six years, then in the seventh year you will let him go free from you. ¹³ And when you let him go free from you, you will not let him go empty. ¹⁴ You will furnish him liberally out of your flock and out of your threshing-floor and out of your winepress. As Jehovah your God has blessed you, you will give to him.

⁶ And he will restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing and because he had no pity.

²⁴ There is he who scatters and increases yet more and there is he who withholds more than is proper, but only to want.
²⁵ The generous soul will be made prosperous and he who waters will also be watered himself.

¹⁴ A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth and the actions of a man's hands will be rendered to him.

²¹ He who despises his neighbor sins, but he who has pity on the poor, he is fortunate.

³¹ He who oppresses a poor man reproaches his maker, but he who has mercy on a needy man honors him.

⁸ He who multiplies his substance by interest and increase, gathers it for him who has pity on the poor.

²⁷ He who gives to the poor will not lack, but he who hides his eyes will have many a curse.

¹ Cast your bread upon the waters, because you will find it after many days.

⁷ Is it not to deal your bread to a hungry man and that you bring the poor who are cast out to your house, when you see a naked man, that you cover him and that you not hide yourself from your own flesh?
⁸ Then your light will break forth as the morning and your healing will spring forth speedily. And your righteousness will go before you. The glory of Jehovah will be your rearward. ⁹ Then you will call and Jehovah will answer, you will cry and he will say, Here I am. If you take the yoke away from the midst of you, the putting forth of the finger and speaking wickedly, ¹⁰ and if you draw out your soul to a hungry man and satisfy an afflicted soul, then your light will rise in darkness and your obscurity be as the noonday.
¹¹ And Jehovah will guide you continually and satisfy your soul in dry places and make strong your bones. And you will be like a watered garden and like a spring of water whose waters fail not.

⁴¹ He who accepts a prophet in the name of a prophet, will be receiving a prophet’s reward, and he who accepts a righteous man in the name of a righteous man, will be receiving a righteous man’s reward. ⁴² And whoever gives only a cup of cold water to drink to one of these little ones, in the name of a disciple, assuredly I am saying to you, He may never lose his reward.

⁴⁰ And when the King answers, he will say to them, Assuredly I am saying to you, Inasmuch as you did it to one of these, my brethren, even the least, you did it to me.

³⁸ Give and it will be given to you; they will be giving good measure into your bosom, what has been packed-down and shaken together and pouring over. For with the same measure you measure, it will be measured to you again.

⁶ But I say this, He who is sowing sparingly will also be reaping sparingly, and he who is sowing upon his bounties will also be reaping upon his bounties. ⁷ Let each man give just-as he proposes in his heart; not out of sorrow or out of necessity; for God loves a joyful giver. ⁸ Now God is able to make abound all grace toward you; in order that having all self-sufficiency in everything, you should always abound to every good work;

¹⁷ Not that I am seeking after the present, but I am seeking after the fruit that increases to your account.

¹⁰ For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and the labor of the love which you showed toward his name, having served the holy-ones and still serving them.

²⁴ He who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him chastens him promptly.

¹⁵ Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of correction will drive it far from him.

¹³ Do not withhold correction from the child, because if you beat him with the rod, he will not die. ¹⁴ You will beat him with the rod and will deliver his soul from Sheol.

¹⁵ The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself causes shame to his mother.

¹⁷ Discipline your son and he will give you rest, yes, he will give delight to your soul.

⁷ It is for disciplining that you endure; God is dealing with you as with sons; for what is the son whom his father is not disciplining? ⁸ But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, consequently, you are illegitimate and not sons. ⁹ Thereafter, we have indeed had the fathers of our flesh as correctors of us, and we were revering them. Will we not much rather be made subject to the Father of spirits and we will live? ¹⁰ For they indeed were disciplining us for a few days according to what did seem right to them, but he does it upon what is advantageous for us, that we may receive of his holiness.

³⁰ Then Saul's anger was kindled against Jonathan and he said to him, You son of a perverse rebellious woman, do I not know that you have chosen the son of Jesse to your own shame and to the shame of your mother's nakedness? ³¹ For as long as the son of Jesse lives upon the ground, you will not be established, nor your kingdom. Therefore now send and fetch him to me, for he will surely die.

⁷ And Saul said to his servants who stood about him, Hear now, you* Benjamites. Will the son of Jesse give every one of you* fields and vineyards? Will he make you* all captains of thousands and captains of hundreds, ⁸ that all of you* have conspired against me and there is none who discloses to me when my son makes a league with the son of Jesse? And there is none of you* who is sorry for me, or discloses to me that my son has stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day.
⁹ Then answered Doeg the Edomite, who stood by the servants of Saul and said, I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub. ¹⁰ And he inquired of Jehovah for him and gave him food and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine. ¹¹ Then the king sent to call Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub and all his father's house, the priests who were in Nob. And they came to the king, all of them.
¹² And Saul said, Hear now, you son of Ahitub. And he answered, Here I am, my lord.

¹⁷ And he said to David, You are more righteous than I, for you have rendered to me good, and I have rendered to you evil. ¹⁸ And you have declared this day how that you have dealt well with me, inasmuch as when Jehovah had delivered me up into your hand, you killed me not. ¹⁹ For if a man finds his enemy, will he let him go away well? Therefore Jehovah reward you good for what you have done to me this day.
²⁰ And now, behold, I know that you will surely be king and that the kingdom of Israel will be established in your hand. ²¹ Swear now therefore to me by Jehovah, that you will not cut off my seed after me and that you will not destroy my name out of my father's house. ²² And David swore to Saul. And Saul went home, but David and his men got up to the stronghold.

²¹ Then Saul said, I have sinned. Return, my son David, for I will no more do you harm because my life was precious in your eyes this day. Behold, I have played the fool and have erred exceedingly.
²² And David answered and said, Behold the spear, O king! Let then one of the young men come over and fetch it. ²³ And Jehovah will render to every man his righteousness and his faithfulness, inasmuch as Jehovah delivered you into my hand today and I would not put forth my hand against Jehovah's anointed. ²⁴ And behold, as your life was much set by this day in my eyes, so let my life be much set by in the eyes of Jehovah and let him deliver me out of all tribulation.
²⁵ Then Saul said to David, You are blessed, my son David. You will both do mightily and will surely prevail. So David went his way and Saul returned to his place.

⁵ And when king David came to Bahurim, behold, there came out from there a man of the family of the house of Saul whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera. He came out, cursing as he came. ⁶ And he cast stones at David and at all the servants of king David and all the people and all the mighty men were on his right hand and on his left.

²⁴ Make no friendship with a man who is given to anger and you will not go with a wrathful man, ²⁵ lest you learn this ways and get a snare for your soul.

²⁸ He whose spirit is without restraint is a city that is broken down and without walls.

²² An angry man stirs up strife and a wrathful man abounds in transgression.

¹⁰ Who can count the dust of Jacob, or number the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous and let my last end be like his!

¹⁶ who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers did not know, that he might humble you and that he might prove you, to do you good at your latter end.

²⁹ Oh that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

³⁷ Keep as the perfect man and behold the upright, because there is a happy end to the man of peace.

¹² So teach us to number our days, that we may get us a heart of wisdom.

¹⁴ O satisfy us in the morning with your loving kindness, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

⁸ My son, hear the instruction of your father and do not forsake the law of your mother.

¹ Hear sons, the instruction of a father and attend to know understanding.

³⁴ The man who hears me is fortunate, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. ³⁵ Because he who finds me finds life and will obtain favor of Jehovah.

¹⁵ The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who is wise listens to counsel.

¹⁹ Now there was a certain rich man and he was clothing himself in purple and fine-linen, having been radiantly joyous daily. ²⁰ Now there was a certain poor man, Lazarus by name, who had been put at his gate, having been full of sores, ²¹ and desiring to be fed from the falling crumbs of the rich man’s table. But even the dogs, coming to him, were licking his sores. ²² Now it happened, that the poor man died and that he was carried away by the messengers into Abraham’s bosom, and the rich man also died and was buried. ²³ And in Hades, he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and he sees Abraham from afar, and Lazarus in his bosom.

¹⁹ And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer comes. ²⁰ Come now therefore and let us kill him and cast him into one of the pits. And we will say, An evil beast has devoured him. And we will see what will become of his dreams.

⁴ And Joseph said to his brothers, Come near to me, I beseech you*. And they came near and he said, I am Joseph your* brother, whom you* sold into Egypt.
⁵ And now do not be grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that you* sold me here, because God sent me before you* to preserve life. ⁶ For the famine has been in the land these two years and there are yet five years, in which there will be neither plowing nor harvest. ⁷ And God sent me before you* to preserve for you* a remnant on the earth and to save you* alive by a great deliverance.
⁸ So now it was not you* that sent me here, but God and he has made me a father to Pharaoh and lord of all his house and ruler over all the land of Egypt.

²⁰ And as for you*, you* meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save many people alive.

²⁵ But when the matter came before the king, he commanded by letters that his wicked device, which he had devised against the Jews, should return upon his own head and that he and his sons should be hanged on the gallows.

¹³ But he is in one mind and who can turn him? And what his soul desires, even that he does.

¹¹ Because they intended evil against you. They conceived a device which they are not able to perform.

¹⁰ Jehovah brings the counsel of the nations to nothing. He makes the thoughts of the peoples to be of no effect. ¹¹ The counsel of Jehovah stands fast everlasting, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.

⁴ They have said, Come and let us cut them off from being a nation, that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.

² A good man will obtain favor of Jehovah, but he will condemn a man of wicked devices.

¹ The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from Jehovah.

⁹ A man's heart devises his way, but Jehovah directs his steps.

¹ The king's heart is in the hand of Jehovah as streams of water. He turns it wherever he will.

³⁰ There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against Jehovah.

²⁹ Behold, this only I have found: That God made man upright, but they have sought out many devices.

⁶ Let us go up against Judah and besiege it and let us make a breach in it for us and set up a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeel, ⁷ the lord Jehovah says thus: It will not stand, nor will it happen.

²⁴ Jehovah of hosts has sworn, saying, Surely, as I have thought, so will it happen and as I have purposed, so will it stand,

²⁶ This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations. ²⁷ For Jehovah of hosts has purposed and who will annul it? And his hand is stretched out and who will turn it back?

¹⁰ declaring the end from the beginning and from long-ago things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel will stand and I will do all my pleasure,

³⁵ And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing and he does according to his will in the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth. And none can stay his hand, or say to him, What are you doing?

²⁴ He will come in time of security even upon the fattest places of the province and he will do what his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers. He will scatter among them prey and spoil and substance. Yes, he will devise his devices against the strongholds, even for a time.
²⁵ And he will stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army. And the king of the south will war in battle with a very great and mighty army, but he will not stand, for they will devise devices against him.

⁴ and they counseled together in order that they might take-hold of Jesus with treachery, and might kill him. ⁵ But they were saying, Not at the feast, in order that an uproar among the people might not happen.

⁶³ saying, Lord, we remember what that misleader said, while still living, I will arise after three days. ⁶⁴ Therefore, command that the burial chamber be made secure until the third day, lest his disciples coming by night, might steal him away and might say to the people, He was raised from the dead and the last deceit will be worse than the first.

²⁷ For against truth, against your holy young-servant Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, together with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, were gathered together ²⁸ to do as many things as your hand and your council predetermined to happen.

³⁸ And hereafter I say to you, Withdraw from these men and permit them to continue, because if this plan or this work is from men, it will be torn-down; ³⁹ but if it is from God, you will not be able to tear it down; lest you might be found even to be quarreling against God.

¹¹ In him in whom, we were also made an inheritance, having been predetermined according to the purpose of the one who is working all things after the plan of his will.

¹⁷ In which God, planning to show even-more to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable will of his plan, intermediated this with an oath; ¹⁸ in order that through two unchangeable matters, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge, to take-hold of the hope that lays before us.

⁸ and, ‘A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense'; those who are stumbling in the word, being disobedient, toward which they were also appointed.

⁴ For some men sneaked in among you, those who have been written about, from long-ago for this condemnation of the ungodly, those who are transferring the grace of our God into unbridled-lusts and denying our only Master, God the Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

² Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for the things of gold and the silver for the things of silver and the brass for the things of brass, the iron for the things of iron and wood for the things of wood, onyx stones and stones to be set, stones for inlaid work and of different colors and all manner of precious stones and marble stones in abundance.
³ Moreover also, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, seeing that I have a treasure of my own of gold and silver, I give it to the house of my God over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house,

¹⁷ I know also, my God, that you try the heart and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things. And now I have seen with joy your people, who are present here, offer willingly to you.

⁸ But Jehovah said to David my father, Because it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well that it was in your heart.

¹⁵ My brothers have dealt deceitfully as a brook, as the channel of brooks that pass away,

⁵ He who denounces his friends for a prey, even the eyes of his sons will fail.

⁹ Surely men of low degree are vanity and men of high degree are a lie. They will go up in the balances. They are together lighter than vanity.

¹ Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than he who is perverse in his lips and is a fool.

⁴¹ And having sat down opposite the treasury, Jesus was viewing how the crowd cast brass coins into the treasury, and many who were rich were casting in much. ⁴² And a poor widow came and she cast in two bronze-coins, which is equal to a copper coin. ⁴³ And he called his disciples to him and says to them, Assuredly I am saying to you, This poor widow has cast in more-than all those who are casting in much into the treasury; ⁴⁴ for they all cast in out of what is abounding to them, but she cast in, out of her lack of all things, as many things as she had, her whole livelihood.

⁶ But Jesus said, Allow her. Why are you harassing her? She has worked a good work in me. ⁷ For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you wish, you are able to do them good, but you do not always have me. ⁸ What she had, this she did. She took upon herself beforehand to perfume my body for its burial.

² because the abundance of their joy in much trial of affliction and according to the depth of their poverty abounded to the riches of their liberality. ³ I testify, because according to their power, and yet beyond their power, they gave of their own accord.

¹² For if the eagerness lays before you, according to whatever someone has, it is acceptable, not according to what he does not have.

² upon the hope of everlasting life, which God, who is incapable of lying, promised before times everlasting.

⁹ The fear of Jehovah is clean, enduring forever. The ordinances of Jehovah are true and righteous altogether.

¹³ His soul will dwell at ease and his seed will inherit the land.

¹⁸ Behold, the eye of Jehovah is upon those who fear him, upon those who hope in his loving kindness, ¹⁹ to deliver their soul from death and to keep them alive in famine.

⁹ O fear Jehovah, you* his, holy ones, because there is no want to those who fear him.
¹⁰ The young lions do lack and suffer hunger, but those who seek Jehovah will not want any good thing.
¹¹ Come, you* children, listen to me. I will teach you* the fear of Jehovah.

⁹ Surely his salvation is near those who fear him, that glory may dwell in our land.

¹⁶ I will satisfy him with long life and show him my salvation.

¹⁷ But the loving kindness of Jehovah is from everlasting to everlasting upon those who fear him and his righteousness to son's sons,

¹⁸ Jehovah is near to all those who call upon him, to all who call upon him in truth.
¹⁹ He will fulfill the desire of those who fear him. He also will hear their cry and will save them. ²⁰ Jehovah preserves all those who love him, but he will destroy all the wicked.

²⁷ The fear of Jehovah prolongs days, but the years of the wicked will be shortened.

²¹ There will no mischief happen to a righteous man, but the wicked will be filled with evil.

²⁶ Strong confidence is in the fear of Jehovah and his sons will have a place of refuge.
²⁷ The fear of Jehovah is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

¹⁶ Then those who feared Jehovah spoke one with another and Jehovah listened and heard and a book of remembrance was written before him, for those who feared Jehovah and who thought upon his name. ¹⁷ And they will be mine, says Jehovah of hosts, my own possession, in the day that I make. And I will spare them, as a man spares his own son who serves him.

² But to you* who fear my name the sun of righteousness will arise with healing in its wings and you* will go forth and frolic as calves of the stall.

⁶ Those who hunger and are thirsty for righteousness are fortunate, because they will be fed.

³¹ Therefore indeed, all the congregations throughout the whole of Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace. They were being multiplied, being built up, and having conducted-themselves in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit.

²⁸ Now we know that all things work together toward good, to those who love God, to those who are an invited one according to his purpose.

¹¹ Not that I am speaking according to my lack of things; for I have learned what things I am to be content. ¹² I know how to be also humbled; I also know how to also abound. I have been initiated in everything, and in all things, both to be fed and to be hungry, both to abound and to lack.

⁸ for bodily exercise is profitable for few things, but godliness is profitable for all things, having the promise of life the current one and the future one.

⁶ But godliness with contentment is a great method to earnings; ⁷ for we brought nothing into the world, nor it is evident that we are able to carry anything out; ⁸ but we will be content with these things, having nourishment and clothes. ⁹ But those who are planning to be rich are falling into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful lusts, which are submerging men into utter-destruction and everlasting destruction.

¹⁸ The Lord will be rescuing me from every evil work and will save me for his heavenly kingdom: in whom is the glory, forevermore. Amen.

⁵ In the manner of life, not being a money-lover, be content with the things which are present; for he himself has said, I may never be lax concerning you, nor should I ever forsake you. ⁶ So-that we, being courageous, may say, The Lord is my helper and I will not be fearing. What will man be doing for me?

¹¹ Why do you draw back your hand, even your right hand? Remove it from the midst of your bosom.

²⁷ The slothful man roasts not what he took in hunting, but the substance of a diligent man is precious.

¹⁹ The way of the sluggard is as a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is made a highway.

¹⁵ Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep and the idle soul will suffer hunger.

³⁰ I went by the field of the sluggard and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding.
³¹ And behold, it was all grown over with thorns. The face of it was covered with nettles and the stone wall of it was broken down.
³² Then I beheld and considered well. I saw and received instruction: ³³ Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep, ³⁴ so your poverty will come as a robber and your want as an armed man.

¹³ The sluggard says, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets.
¹⁴ The door turns upon its hinges, so does the sluggard upon his bed.
¹⁵ The sluggard buries his hand in the dish. It wearies him to bring it again to his mouth.
¹⁶ The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men who can render a reason.

²³ But he answered and said, He who dipped his hand with me in the dish, this one will be giving me up to the Jews.

²⁰ But he answered and said to them, It is one out of the twelve, he who dips with me in the dish.

¹¹ And all Israel will hear and fear and will no more do any such wickedness as this is in the midst of you.

²¹ And all the men of his city will stone him to death with stones. So you will put away the evil from the midst of you and all Israel will hear and fear.

⁸ Reprove not a scoffer, lest he hate you.
Reprove a wise man and he will love you. ⁹ Give opportunity to a wise man and he will be yet wiser. Teach a righteous man and he will increase in learning.
¹⁰ The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the Holy is understanding.

⁵ A fool despises his father's correction, but he who regards reproof gets prudence.

¹⁰ A rebuke enters deeper into him who has understanding than a hundred stripes into a fool.

¹¹ When a scoffer is punished, a simple man is made wise and when a wise man is instructed, he receives knowledge.

¹⁹ As many as I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent.

¹⁸ If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son, who will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and though they discipline him, will not listen to them, ¹⁹ then his father and his mother will lay hold on him and bring him out to the elders of his city and to the gate of his place. ²⁰ And they will say to the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice. He is a glutton and a drunkard. ²¹ And all the men of his city will stone him to death with stones. So you will put away the evil from the midst of you and all Israel will hear and fear.

⁵ He who gathers in summer is a wise son. He who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame.

² A servant who deals wisely will have rule over a son who causes shame and will have part in the inheritance among the brothers.

²² Listen to your father who fathered you and do not despise your mother because she is old.
²³ Buy the truth and do not sell it, yes, wisdom and instruction and understanding.
²⁴ The father of a righteous man will greatly rejoice and he who begets a wise son will have joy of him. ²⁵ Let your father and your mother be glad and let her who bore you rejoice.

⁷ He who keeps the law is a wise son, but he who is a companion of gluttons shames his father.

¹⁴ The man who fears always is fortunate, but he who hardens his heart will fall into mischief.

²⁴ He who robs his father or his mother and says, It is no transgression, the same is the companion of a destroyer.

¹¹ There is a generation who curses their father and does not praise their mother.

¹⁷ The eye that mocks at his father and despises to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley will pick it out and the young eagles will eat it.

¹² And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the part of the estate that would be put toward me. And he sections off his livelihood to them. ¹³ And not many days after, the younger son gathered it all together and went-abroad into a far region, and he squandered his estate with riotous living there. ¹⁴ Now having spent all, there became a mighty famine throughout that region, and he began to have lack of things. ¹⁵ And he traveled and joined himself to one of the citizens of that region, and he sent him into his field to feed swine. ¹⁶ And he was desiring to fill his belly from the carob pods that the swine were eating, and no one was giving anything to him.

³⁰ But when this one, your son came, who has devoured your livelihood with prostitutes, you sacrificed the fattened calf for him.

¹ If there arise in the midst of you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams and he gives you a sign or a wonder, ² and the sign or the wonder occurs, of which he spoke to you, saying, Let us go after other gods, which you have not known and let us serve them, ³ you will not listen to the words of that prophet, or to that dreamer of dreams, for Jehovah your* God proves you*, to know whether you* love Jehovah your* God with all your* heart and with all your* soul. ⁴ You* will walk after Jehovah your* God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey his voice and you* will serve him and cling to him.

²² And Jehovah said to him, With what? And he said, I will go forth and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, You will entice him and will also prevail. Go forth and do so. ²³ Now therefore, behold, Jehovah has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these your prophets and Jehovah has spoken evil concerning you.
²⁴ Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near and killed* Micaiah on the cheek and said, Which way did the Spirit of Jehovah go from me to speak to you? ²⁵ And Micaiah said, Behold, you will see on that day when you will go into an inner chamber to hide yourself.
²⁶ And the King of Israel said, Take Micaiah and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city and to Joash the king's son, ²⁷ and say, Thus says the king, Put this fellow in the prison and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction until I come in peace. ²⁸ And Micaiah said, If you return at all in peace, Jehovah has not spoken by me. And he said, Hear, you* peoples, all of you*.

⁷ Go into the presence of a foolish man and you will not perceive the lips of knowledge.

¹⁵ But take-heed, stay away from false prophets, who are coming to you in sheep’s clothing, but inside are ravenous wolves.

⁶ Now Jesus said to them, Behold and take-heed, stay away from the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees!

¹² Then they understood that he did not say to take-heed, stay away from the leaven of bread, but stay away from the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

²⁴ And he said to them, Beware what you are hearing; in what measure you measure, it will be measured to you, and to you who hear, more will be added.

⁶ But he answered and said to them, Isaiah did prophesy well concerning you hypocrites, as it has been written, ‘This people are honoring me with their lips, but their heart is faraway from me. ⁷ But they are worshiping me in futility, teaching as their teachings–the commandments of men.’ ⁸ For while leaving the commandment of God, you are holding-fast the tradition of men, like immersions of pint pitchers and cups, and you practice many other such similar things.
⁹ And he said to them, You reject well the commandment of God, in order that you may keep your tradition. ¹⁰ For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother.’ And, ‘He who is speaking evil of father or mother, let him be ended by the sentence of death.’ ¹¹ But you say, If a man says to his father or his mother, Whatever you might have been profited from me is Corban. (That is, a gift). ¹² And so you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or his mother, ¹³ invalidating the word of God by your tradition, which you have been given, and you practice many such similar things.
¹⁴ And having called to him all the crowd again, he said to them, All, hear me and understand.

⁵ But they may never follow another man, but will be fleeing from him, because they do not know the voice of others.

¹³ For such men are false apostles, workers of treachery, fashioning themselves into apostles of Christ. ¹⁴ And it is not a marvelous thing; for even the Adversary fashions himself into a messenger of light. ¹⁵ Therefore, it is no great thing if his servants are also fashioned like servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.

¹⁴ in order that we may no longer be infants, bobbing on the waves and being carried around in every wind of teaching, in the trickery of men, in craftiness, toward the schemes of error.

⁷ But renounce the profane and old-wives’fables and exercise yourself to godliness;

³ If anyone is teaching a different teaching and is not coming near to sound words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ and to the teaching which is according to godliness; ⁴ he has been puffed up, knowing nothing, but being mentally diseased concerning debates and quarrels over words, out of which become: envy, strife, blasphemies, evil suspicions, ⁵ incessant wranglings of men who have been corrupted in the mind and who have been deprived of the truth, supposing that godliness is a method to earnings. Withdraw yourself from such.

¹ But false prophets happened to be also among the people, as false teachers will also be among you, who will be smuggling in sects of destruction, denying even the Master who bought them, bringing quick destruction upon themselves. ² And many will be following their unbridled-lusts, because of whom the way of the truth will be blasphemed. \ulnone\nosupersub

¹ Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, to see if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

¹⁰ If anyone is coming to you and is not bringing this teaching, do not receive him into your house and do not say hello to him;

² I know your works and your labor and endurance and that you are not able to bear evil men and you tested those who are saying about themselves, They are apostles and are not and you have found them false;

¹⁰ And set two men, worthless fellows, before him and let them bear witness against him, saying, You cursed God and the king. And then carry him out and stone him to death.

¹³ And the two men, the worthless fellows, came in and sat before him. And the worthless fellows bore witness against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth cursed God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city and stoned him to death with stones.

¹⁶ How much less one who is abominable and morally-corrupt, a man who drinks unrighteousness like water!

¹² Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, though he hide it under his tongue, ¹³ though he spares it and will not let it go, but keep it still within his mouth,

⁷ What man is like Job, who drinks up scorning like water,

⁵ His ways are profane at all times. Your judgments are far above out of his sight. As for all his adversaries, he snorts at them.

¹¹ He says in his heart, God has forgotten. He hides his face. He will never see it.

¹⁴ The heart of him who has understanding seeks knowledge, but the mouth of fools feeds on folly.

¹⁴ Therefore hear the word of Jehovah, you* scoffers, who rule this people that is in Jerusalem. ¹⁵ Because you* have said, We have made a covenant with death and we are at agreement with Sheol. When the overflowing scourge will pass through it will not come to us, for we have made lies our refuge and we have hid ourselves under falsehood. ¹⁶ Therefore thus says the lord Jehovah, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation, a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner- stone, a sure foundation. He who believes in him will never be shamed. ¹⁷ And I will make justice the line and righteousness the plummet.
And the hail will sweep away the refuge of lies and the waters will overflow the hiding place. ¹⁸ And your* covenant with death will be annulled and your* agreement with Sheol will not stand. When the overflowing scourge will pass through, then you* will be trodden down by it.

⁸ They feed on the sin of my people and set their heart on their iniquity.

² saying: A certain judge was in a certain city, who did not fear God and did not revere man. ³ Now a widow was in that city, and she was coming often to him, saying, Avenge me of my opponent. ⁴ And he did not wish to at that time, but after these things, he said in himself, Even if I do not fear God, and do not revere man;

¹¹ Then they instigated men, saying, We have heard him speak blasphemous declarations at Moses and God. ¹² And they agitated the people and the elders and the scribes and standing against him, seized him and led him into the council.
¹³ And false witnesses stood up, who said, This man is not ceasing to speak blasphemous declarations against this holy place and the law;

³⁴ Surely the Lord is opposed to the arrogant, but he gives favor to the lowly.

²² He goes after her immediately, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks,

¹² If you are wise, you are wise for yourself. And if you scoff, you alone will bear it.

¹³ Wisdom is found in the lips of him who has discernment, but a rod is for the back of him who is void of understanding.

⁶ A fool's lips enter into contention and his mouth calls for stripes.

³ A whip for the horse, a bridle for the donkey and a rod for the back of fools.

²² Now therefore be you* not scoffers, lest your* bonds be made strong. For I have heard a decree of destruction from the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, upon the whole earth.

²⁰ For the terrible one is brought to nothing and the scoffer ceases. And all those who watch for wickedness are cut off,

⁴⁰ Therefore beware, that what has been spoken in the prophets might not come upon you : ⁴¹ ‘You despisers, behold and marvel and disappear, because I am working a work in your days, a work which you may never believe, even if someone describes it to you.’

⁶ For whom the Lord loves, he disciplines, and scourges every son whom he is accepting.’

³ Knowing this first, that mockers will be coming in the last of the days, conducting-themselves according to their own lusts, ⁴ and saying, Where is the promise of his presence? For from which time the fathers fell-asleep, thus all things remain as they were from the beginning of the creation. ⁵ For this is eluding them, (willing it to be so): that there were heavens from long-ago, and an earth established out of water and through water by the word of God; ⁶ through which water, the world which was then was destroyed, having been flooded in water. ⁷ But the current heavens and the earth have been stored up for fire by the same word, being kept to the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
