²⁶ He who does violence to his father and chases away his mother, is a son that causes shame and brings reproach.

A wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.

⁵ He who gathers in summer is a wise son. He who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame.

³⁰ But when this one, your son came, who has devoured your livelihood with prostitutes, you sacrificed the fattened calf for him.
