⁷ For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.

¹¹ "and there shall be great earthquakes, and, in many places, famines and pestilences; and there shall be terror and great portents from heaven.

²⁵ "And there will be signs in the sun and the moon and the stars; and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity at the roar of the sea and the billows; ²⁶ "men lifeless through fear, and foreboding of that which is about to come upon the habitable earth. For the powers of the heavens shall be shaken,

¹⁹ In the sky above I will show marvels, And signs in the earth beneath; Blood and fire, and vapor of smoke.

²⁸ One of them, who was Agabus, rose up, and being instructed by the Spirit, predicted that a great famine was about to come upon the whole inhabited earth. (It came in the reign of Claudius.)

²⁷ That phrase, "Once again," signifies the removal of the things which can be shaken, created things, in order that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.

⁸ So I liked, and lo, a pale horse; and he who sat on him was named Death; and Hades was following after him. To them was given authority over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with the sword, and with famine, and with death, and with the wild beasts of the earth.
