² And from that day a long time passed, twenty years in all, as the ark remained at Kiriath-jearim. And all the house of Israel mourned and sought after the LORD.

³⁴ When He slew them, they would seek Him; they repented and searched for God. ³⁵ And they remembered that God was their Rock, that God Most High was their Redeemer.

⁴⁴ Nevertheless He heard their cry; He took note of their distress.

¹⁶ O LORD, they sought You in their distress; when You disciplined them, they poured out a quiet prayer.

²² For the LORD is our Judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our King. It is He who will save us.

⁷⁴ deliverance from the hands of our enemies, that we may serve Him without fear, ⁷⁵ in holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our lives.

¹⁴ For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that if One died for all, therefore all died. ¹⁵ And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died for them and was raised again.
