¹ Then Bildad the Shuhite replied: ² “Dominion and awe belong to God; He establishes harmony in the heights of heaven. ³ Can His troops be numbered? On whom does His light not rise? ⁴ How then can a man be just before God? How can one born of woman be pure? ⁵ If even the moon does not shine, and the stars are not pure in His sight, ⁶ how much less man, who is but a maggot, and the son of man, who is but a worm!”

¹¹ Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the splendor and the majesty, for everything in heaven and on earth belongs to You. Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom, and You are exalted as head over all. ¹² Both riches and honor come from You, and You are the ruler over all. In Your hands are power and might to exalt and give strength to all.

² “Yes, I know that it is so, but how can a mortal be righteous before God? ³ If one wished to contend with God, he could not answer Him one time out of a thousand. ⁴ God is wise in heart and mighty in strength. Who has resisted Him and prospered? ⁵ He moves mountains without their knowledge and overturns them in His anger. ⁶ He shakes the earth from its place, so that its foundations tremble. ⁷ He commands the sun not to shine; He seals off the stars. ⁸ He alone stretches out the heavens and treads on the waves of the sea. ⁹ He is the Maker of the Bear and Orion, of the Pleiades and the constellations of the south. ¹⁰ He does great things beyond searching out, and wonders without number.

⁵ The dead tremble—those beneath the waters and those who dwell in them. ⁶ Sheol is naked before God, and Abaddon has no covering. ⁷ He stretches out the north over empty space; He hangs the earth upon nothing. ⁸ He wraps up the waters in His clouds, yet the clouds do not burst under their own weight. ⁹ He covers the face of the full moon, spreading over it His cloud. ¹⁰ He has inscribed a horizon on the face of the waters at the boundary between light and darkness. ¹¹ The foundations of heaven quake, astounded at His rebuke. ¹² By His power He stirred the sea; by His understanding He shattered Rahab. ¹³ By His breath the skies were cleared; His hand pierced the fleeing serpent. ¹⁴ Indeed, these are but the fringes of His ways; how faint is the whisper we hear of Him! Who then can understand the thunder of His power?”

⁹ Do you have an arm like God’s? Can you thunder with a voice like His? ¹⁰ Then adorn yourself with majesty and splendor, and clothe yourself with honor and glory. ¹¹ Unleash the fury of your wrath; look on every proud man and bring him low. ¹² Look on every proud man and humble him; trample the wicked where they stand. ¹³ Bury them together in the dust; imprison them in the grave. ¹⁴ Then I will confess to you that your own right hand can save you.

¹ The LORD reigns; let the nations tremble! He is enthroned above the cherubim; let the earth quake! ² Great is the LORD in Zion; He is exalted above all the peoples. ³ Let them praise Your great and awesome name—He is holy!

¹⁵ For thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in a high and holy place, and with the oppressed and humble in spirit, to restore the spirit of the lowly and revive the heart of the contrite.

¹⁹ bringing praise to their lips. Peace, peace to those far and near,” says the LORD, “and I will heal them.”

⁶ There is none like You, O LORD. You are great, and Your name is mighty in power. ⁷ Who would not fear You, O King of nations? This is Your due. For among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like You.

³⁴ But at the end of those days I, Nebuchadnezzar, looked up to heaven, and my sanity was restored to me. Then I praised the Most High, and I honored and glorified Him who lives forever: “For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His kingdom endures from generation to generation. ³⁵ All the peoples of the earth are counted as nothing, and He does as He pleases with the army of heaven and the peoples of the earth. There is no one who can restrain His hand or say to Him, ‘What have You done?’” ³⁶ At the same time my sanity was restored, my honor and splendor returned to me for the glory of my kingdom. My advisers and nobles sought me out, and I was restored to my throne, and surpassing greatness was added to me. ³⁷ Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, for all His works are true and all His ways are just. And He is able to humble those who walk in pride.

⁹ Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.

¹³ And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’

¹⁸ Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.

¹⁸ All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: ¹⁹ that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting men’s trespasses against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation. ²⁰ Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ: Be reconciled to God. ²¹ For God made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

²⁰ which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms, ²¹ far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.

¹⁶ and reconciling both of them to God in one body through the cross, by which He extinguished their hostility. ¹⁷ He came and preached peace to you who were far away and to those who were near.

²⁰ and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through the blood of His cross.

²⁵ to the only wise God our Savior be glory, majesty, dominion and authority both now and for all eternity. Amen.

¹⁶ And they said to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the One seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb.

³ And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. ⁴ And God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. ⁵ God called the light “day,” and the darkness He called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

¹⁴ And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to distinguish between the day and the night, and let them be signs to mark the seasons and days and years. ¹⁵ And let them serve as lights in the expanse of the sky to shine upon the earth.” And it was so. ¹⁶ God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night. And He made the stars as well.

¹² In your days, have you commanded the morning or assigned the dawn its place, ¹³ that it might spread to the ends of the earth and shake the wicked out of it?

⁴ their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens He has pitched a tent for the sun. ⁵ Like a bridegroom emerging from his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course, ⁶ it rises at one end of the heavens and runs its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth.

²⁰ Bless the LORD, all His angels mighty in strength who carry out His word, who hearken to the voice of His command. ²¹ Bless the LORD, all His hosts, you servants who do His will.

² Praise Him, all His angels; praise Him, all His heavenly hosts. ³ Praise Him, O sun and moon; praise Him, all you shining stars. ⁴ Praise Him, O highest heavens, and you waters above the skies.

²⁶ Lift up your eyes on high: Who created all these? He leads forth the starry host by number; He calls each one by name. Because of His great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.

¹⁰ A river of fire was flowing, coming out from His presence. Thousands upon thousands attended Him, and myriads upon myriads stood before Him. The court was convened, and the books were opened.

⁴⁵ that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

⁵³ Are you not aware that I can call on My Father right now, and He will at once put at My disposal more than twelve legions of angels?

⁴ In Him was life, and that life was the light of men.

⁹ The true Light who gives light to every man was coming into the world.

¹⁷ Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, with whom there is no change or shifting shadow.

¹¹ Then I looked, and I heard the voices of many angels and living creatures and elders encircling the throne, and their number was myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands.

¹⁷ ‘Can a mortal be more righteous than God, or a man more pure than his Maker? ¹⁸ If God puts no trust in His servants, and He charges His angels with error, ¹⁹ how much more those who dwell in houses of clay, whose foundations are in the dust, who can be crushed like a moth!

² “Yes, I know that it is so, but how can a mortal be righteous before God?

³ Do You open Your eyes to one like this? Will You bring him into judgment before You? ⁴ Who can bring out clean from unclean? No one!

¹⁴ What is man, that he should be pure, or one born of woman, that he should be righteous? ¹⁵ If God puts no trust in His holy ones, if even the heavens are not pure in His eyes, ¹⁶ how much less man, who is vile and corrupt, who drinks injustice like water?

⁵ Surely I was brought forth in iniquity; I was sinful when my mother conceived me.

³ If You, O LORD, kept track of iniquities, then who, O Lord, could stand?

² Do not bring Your servant into judgment, for no one alive is righteous before You.

¹ “On that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and the people of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and impurity.

¹⁹ Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. ²⁰ Therefore no one will be justified in His sight by works of the law. For the law merely brings awareness of sin.

¹ Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

¹¹ And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified, in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

³ All of us also lived among them at one time, fulfilling the cravings of our flesh and indulging its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature children of wrath.

⁹ If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

⁵ and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and has washed us from our sins by His blood,

¹⁵ If God puts no trust in His holy ones, if even the heavens are not pure in His eyes,

²⁶ if I have beheld the sun in its radiance or the moon moving in splendor,

²³ The moon will be confounded and the sun will be ashamed; for the LORD of Hosts will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and before His elders with great glory.

¹⁹ No longer will the sun be your light by day, nor the brightness of the moon shine on your night; for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your splendor. ²⁰ Your sun will no longer set, and your moon will not wane; for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and the days of your sorrow will cease.

¹⁰ Indeed, what was once glorious has no glory now in comparison to the glory that surpasses it.

²⁷ Then Abraham answered, “Now that I have ventured to speak to the Lord—though I am but dust and ashes—

¹⁹ how much more those who dwell in houses of clay, whose foundations are in the dust, who can be crushed like a moth!

¹⁷ What is man that You should exalt him, that You should set Your heart upon him,

⁶ But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by men and despised by the people.

¹⁴ Do not fear, O worm of Jacob, O few men of Israel. I will help you,” declares the LORD. “Your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.
