⁵ Indeed, God is mighty, but He despises no one; He is mighty in strength of understanding.

¹⁴ How then can I answer Him or choose my arguments against Him?

¹⁹ If it is a matter of strength, He is indeed mighty! If it is a matter of justice, who can summon Him?

³ Does it please You to oppress me, to reject the work of Your hands and favor the schemes of the wicked?

¹³ Wisdom and strength belong to God; counsel and understanding are His. ¹⁴ What He tears down cannot be rebuilt; the man He imprisons cannot be released. ¹⁵ If He holds back the waters, they dry up, and if He releases them, they overwhelm the land. ¹⁶ True wisdom and power belong to Him. The deceived and the deceiver are His.

¹² By His power He stirred the sea; by His understanding He shattered Rahab. ¹³ By His breath the skies were cleared; His hand pierced the fleeing serpent. ¹⁴ Indeed, these are but the fringes of His ways; how faint is the whisper we hear of Him! Who then can understand the thunder of His power?”

¹³ If I have rejected the cause of my manservant or maidservant when they made a complaint against me,

²³ The Almighty is beyond our reach; He is exalted in power! In His justice and great righteousness He does not oppress.

²⁴ For He has not despised or detested the torment of the afflicted. He has not hidden His face from him, but has attended to his cry for help.

⁴ The mighty King loves justice. You have established equity; You have exercised justice and righteousness in Jacob.

⁶ Though the LORD is on high, He attends to the lowly; but the proud He knows from afar.

⁵ Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding has no limit.

¹² The LORD made the earth by His power; He established the world by His wisdom and stretched out the heavens by His understanding.

¹⁹ the One great in counsel and mighty in deed, whose eyes are on all the ways of the sons of men, to reward each one according to his ways and according to the fruit of his deeds.

²⁴ but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. ²⁵ For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength. ²⁶ Brothers, consider the time of your calling: Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were powerful; not many were of noble birth. ²⁷ But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. ²⁸ He chose the lowly and despised things of the world, and the things that are not, to nullify the things that are,
