² When the Sabbath came, He began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard Him were astonished. “Where did this man get these ideas?” they asked. “What is this wisdom He has been given? And how can He perform such miracles?

²³ Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.

²⁸ When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were astonished at His teaching,

²¹ Then Jesus and His companions went to Capernaum, and right away Jesus entered the synagogue on the Sabbath and began to teach. ²² The people were astonished at His teaching, because He taught as one who had authority, and not as the scribes.

³⁹ So He went throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.

¹⁵ He taught in their synagogues and was glorified by everyone.

³¹ Then He went down to Capernaum, a town in Galilee, and on the Sabbath He began to teach the people. ³² They were astonished at His teaching, because His message had authority.

⁴² They were asking, “Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How then can He say, ‘I have come down from heaven?’”

¹⁵ The Jews were amazed and asked, “How did this man attain such learning without having studied?”

¹³ When they saw the boldness of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they marveled and took note that these men had been with Jesus. ¹⁴ And seeing the man who had been healed standing there with them, they had nothing to say in response.
