¹⁴ By fruitful speech a man is filled with good things, and the work of his hands returns to him.

⁵ My soul is satisfied as with the richest of foods; with joyful lips my mouth will praise You.

² From the fruit of his lips a man enjoys good things, but the desire of the faithless is violence.

²³ A man takes joy in a fitting reply—and how good is a timely word!

²⁰ From the fruit of his mouth a man’s belly is filled; with the harvest from his lips he is satisfied. ²¹ Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

¹⁰ Tell the righteous it will be well with them, for they will enjoy the fruit of their labor. ¹¹ Woe to the wicked; disaster is upon them! For they will be repaid with what their hands have done.

⁴¹ Whoever receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever receives a righteous man because he is a righteous man will receive a righteous man’s reward. ⁴² And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is My disciple, truly I tell you, he will never lose his reward.”

²⁷ For the Son of Man will come in His Father’s glory with His angels, and then He will repay each one according to what he has done.

⁶ After all, it is only right for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, ⁷ and to grant relief to you who are oppressed and to us as well. This will take place when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels

² For if the message spoken by angels was binding, and every transgression and disobedience received its just punishment,

²⁶ He valued disgrace for Christ above the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking ahead to his reward.
