² Hear my cry for mercy when I call to You for help, when I lift up my hands toward Your holy sanctuary.

¹⁹ Solomon also prepared the inner sanctuary within the temple to set the ark of the covenant of the LORD there.

²² So he overlaid with gold the whole interior of the temple, until everything was completely finished. He also overlaid with gold the entire altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary. ²³ In the inner sanctuary he made two cherubim, each ten cubits high, out of olive wood.

⁶ Then the priests brought the ark of the covenant of the LORD to its place in the inner sanctuary of the temple, the Most Holy Place, beneath the wings of the cherubim. ⁷ For the cherubim spread their wings over the place of the ark and overshadowed the ark and its poles. ⁸ The poles extended far enough that their ends were visible from the Holy Place in front of the inner sanctuary, but not from outside the Holy Place; and they are there to this day.

²⁸ Yet regard the prayer and plea of Your servant, O LORD my God, so that You may hear the cry and the prayer that Your servant is praying before You today. ²⁹ May Your eyes be open toward this temple night and day, toward the place of which You said, ‘My Name shall be there,’ so that You may hear the prayer that Your servant prays toward this place. ³⁰ Hear the plea of Your servant and of Your people Israel when they pray toward this place. May You hear from heaven, Your dwelling place. May You hear and forgive.

³⁸ then may whatever prayer or petition Your people Israel make—each knowing his own afflictions and spreading out his hands toward this temple—

¹³ Now Solomon had made a bronze platform five cubits long, five cubits wide, and three cubits high, and had placed it in the middle of the courtyard. He stood on it, knelt down before the whole assembly of Israel, spread out his hands toward heaven,

⁷ But I will enter Your house by the abundance of Your loving devotion; in reverence I will bow down toward Your holy temple.

⁴ So I will bless You as long as I live; in Your name I will lift my hands.

⁵ But those who turn to crooked ways the LORD will banish with the evildoers. Peace be upon Israel.

² Lift up your hands to the sanctuary and bless the LORD!

² I bow down toward Your holy temple and give thanks to Your name for Your loving devotion and Your faithfulness; You have exalted Your name and Your word above all else.

⁶ I say to the LORD, “You are my God.” Hear, O LORD, my cry for help.

² May my prayer be set before You like incense, my uplifted hands like the evening offering.

⁶ I stretch out my hands to You; my soul thirsts for You like a parched land. Selah

¹⁹ Arise, cry out in the night from the first watch of the night. Pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord. Lift up your hands to Him for the lives of your children who are fainting from hunger on the corner of every street.

¹⁰ Now when Daniel learned that the document had been signed, he went into his house, where the windows of his upper room opened toward Jerusalem, and three times a day he got down on his knees, prayed, and gave thanks to his God, just as he had done before.

⁸ Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands, without anger or dissension.
