When the Ziphites went to Saul and said, “Is David not hiding among us?” Save me, O God, by Your name, and vindicate me by Your might! ² Hear my prayer, O God; listen to the words of my mouth. ³ For strangers rise up against me, and ruthless men seek my life—men with no regard for God. Selah ⁴ Surely God is my helper; the Lord is the sustainer of my soul. ⁵ He will reward my enemies with evil. In Your faithfulness, destroy them. ⁶ Freely I will sacrifice to You; I will praise Your name, O LORD, for it is good. ⁷ For He has delivered me from every trouble, and my eyes have stared down my foes.

¹⁴ God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” ¹⁵ God also told Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The LORD, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’ This is My name forever, and this is how I am to be remembered in every generation.

²¹ Pay attention to him and listen to his voice; do not defy him, for he will not forgive rebellion, since My Name is in him.

⁵ And the LORD descended in a cloud, stood with him there, and proclaimed His name, the LORD. ⁶ Then the LORD passed in front of Moses and called out: “The LORD, the LORD God, is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion and faithfulness,

¹⁹ Then the Ziphites came up to Saul at Gibeah and said, “Is not David hiding among us in the strongholds at Horesh, on the hill of Hachilah south of Jeshimon? ²⁰ Now, O king, come down whenever your soul desires, and we will be responsible for delivering him into your hand.”

¹ Then the Ziphites came to Saul at Gibeah and said, “Is not David hiding on the hill of Hachilah, opposite Jeshimon?”

⁶ and said, “O LORD, God of our fathers, are You not the God who is in heaven, and do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in Your hand, and no one can stand against You.

¹ For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.

¹ Of David. Vindicate me, O LORD! For I have walked with integrity; I have trusted in the LORD without wavering.

¹ Vindicate me, O God, and plead my case against an ungodly nation; deliver me from deceitful and unjust men. ² For You are the God of my refuge. Why have You rejected me? Why must I walk in sorrow because of the enemy’s oppression?

¹⁰ Your name, O God, like Your praise, reaches to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is full of righteousness.

⁹ Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of Your name; deliver us and atone for our sins, for the sake of Your name.

⁴ The mighty King loves justice. You have established equity; You have exercised justice and righteousness in Jacob.

¹⁰ The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.

¹¹ for their Redeemer is strong; He will take up their case against you.

²⁷ Behold, the Name of the LORD comes from afar, with burning anger and dense smoke. His lips are full of fury, and His tongue is like a consuming fire.

³⁴ Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of Hosts is His name. He will fervently plead their case so that He may bring rest to the earth, but turmoil to those who live in Babylon.

⁵ Do not rely on a friend; do not trust in a companion. Seal the doors of your mouth from her who lies in your arms. ⁶ For a son dishonors his father, a daughter rises against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. A man’s enemies are the members of his own household.

²¹ She will give birth to a Son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.”

²³ “Behold, the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel” (which means, “God with us”).

²¹ Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rise against their parents and have them put to death.

¹² Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name given to men by which we must be saved.”

Give ear to my words, O LORD; consider my groaning. ² Attend to the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for to You I pray. ³ In the morning, O LORD, You hear my voice; at daybreak I lay my plea before You and wait in expectation.

³ Consider me and respond, O LORD my God. Give light to my eyes, lest I sleep in death,

² O Lord, hear my voice; let Your ears be attentive to my plea for mercy.

⁷ Answer me quickly, O LORD; my spirit fails. Do not hide Your face from me, or I will be like those who descend to the Pit.

¹³ He has removed my brothers from me; my acquaintances have abandoned me. ¹⁴ My kinsmen have failed me, and my friends have forgotten me. ¹⁵ My guests and maidservants count me as a stranger; I am a foreigner in their sight.

⁸ I have set the LORD always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

¹⁶ For dogs surround me; a band of evil men encircles me; they have pierced my hands and feet.

¹ For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David, the servant of the LORD. An oracle is in my heart regarding the transgression of the wicked man: There is no fear of God before his eyes.

¹⁴ May those who seek my life be ashamed and confounded; may those who wish me harm be repelled and humiliated.

⁴ Will the workers of iniquity never learn? They devour my people like bread; they refuse to call upon God.

³ See how they lie in wait for me. Fierce men conspire against me for no transgression or sin of my own, O LORD. ⁴ For no fault of my own, they move swiftly to attack me. Arise to help me, and take notice. ⁵ O LORD God of Hosts, the God of Israel, rouse Yourself to punish all the nations; show no mercy to the wicked traitors. Selah

⁸ I have become a stranger to my brothers and a foreigner to my mother’s sons,

¹⁴ The arrogant rise against me, O God; a band of ruthless men seeks my life, with no regard for You.

²⁰ But the chief priests and elders persuaded the crowds to ask for Barabbas and to have Jesus put to death. ²¹ “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” asked the governor. “Barabbas,” they replied. ²² “What then should I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” Pilate asked. They all answered, “Crucify Him!” ²³ “Why?” asked the governor. “What evil has He done?” But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify Him!”

³ They will do these things because they have not known the Father or Me.

¹⁸ Then the Spirit came upon Amasai, the chief of the Thirty, and he said: “We are yours, O David! We are with you, O son of Jesse! Peace, peace to you, and peace to your helpers, for your God helps you.” So David received them and made them leaders of his troops.

¹² In my integrity You uphold me and set me in Your presence forever.

⁶ The LORD is on my side; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? ⁷ The LORD is on my side; He is my helper. Therefore I will look in triumph on those who hate me.

¹³ I was pushed so hard I was falling, but the LORD helped me.

¹⁰ Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will surely help you; I will uphold you with My right hand of righteousness.

¹ “Here is My Servant, whom I uphold, My Chosen One, in whom My soul delights. I will put My Spirit on Him, and He will bring justice to the nations.

⁷ Because the Lord GOD helps Me, I have not been disgraced; therefore I have set My face like flint, and I know that I will not be put to shame. ⁸ The One who vindicates Me is near. Who will dare to contend with Me? Let us confront each other! Who has a case against Me? Let him approach Me! ⁹ Surely the Lord GOD helps Me. Who is there to condemn Me? See, they will all wear out like a garment; the moths will devour them.

³¹ What then shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

⁶ So we say with confidence: “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”

⁸ Lead me, O LORD, in Your righteousness because of my enemies; make straight Your way before me.

¹¹ Teach me Your way, O LORD, and lead me on a level path, because of my oppressors.

²³ Love the LORD, all His saints. The LORD preserves the faithful, but fully repays the arrogant.

⁴⁹ Where, O Lord, is Your loving devotion of old, which You faithfully swore to David?

²³ He will bring upon them their own iniquity and destroy them for their wickedness. The LORD our God will destroy them.

⁸ O Daughter of Babylon, doomed to destruction, blessed is he who repays you as you have done to us.

¹ A Psalm of David. O LORD, hear my prayer. In Your faithfulness, give ear to my plea; in Your righteousness, answer me.

¹² And in Your loving devotion, cut off my enemies. Destroy all who afflict me, for I am Your servant.

¹⁴ Alexander the coppersmith did great harm to me. May the Lord repay him according to his deeds.

⁶ Give back to her as she has done to others; pay her back double for what she has done; mix her a double portion in her own cup.

⁶ To that place you are to bring your burnt offerings and sacrifices, your tithes and heave offerings, your vow offerings and freewill offerings, as well as the firstborn of your herds and flocks. ⁷ There, in the presence of the LORD your God, you and your households shall eat and rejoice in all you do, because the LORD your God has blessed you.

¹⁷ I will thank the LORD for His righteousness and sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

¹³ Be exalted, O LORD, in Your strength; we will sing and praise Your power.

¹⁴ Sacrifice a thank offering to God, and fulfill your vows to the Most High.

⁹ I will praise You forever, because You have done it. I will wait on Your name—for it is good—in the presence of Your saints.

¹³ I will enter Your house with burnt offerings; I will fulfill my vows to You— ¹⁴ the vows that my lips promised and my mouth spoke in my distress. ¹⁵ I will offer You fatlings as burnt offerings, with the fragrant smoke of rams; I will offer bulls and goats. Selah ¹⁶ Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will declare what He has done for me.

¹ A Psalm. A song for the Sabbath day. It is good to praise the LORD, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High,

²² Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and declare His works with rejoicing.

¹⁷ I will offer to You a sacrifice of thanksgiving and call on the name of the LORD.

¹³ Surely the righteous will praise Your name; the upright will dwell in Your presence.

¹ Hallelujah! How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and lovely to praise Him!

¹⁶ the angel who has redeemed me from all harm—may He bless these boys. And may they be called by my name and the names of my fathers Abraham and Isaac, and may they grow into a multitude upon the earth.”

²⁴ As surely as I valued your life today, so may the LORD value my life and rescue me from all trouble.”

⁹ But David answered Rechab and his brother Baanah, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, “As surely as the LORD lives, who has redeemed my life from all distress,

⁶ This poor man called out, and the LORD heard him; He saved him from all his troubles.

¹⁹ Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him from them all.

³⁴ Wait for the LORD and keep His way, and He will raise you up to inherit the land. When the wicked are cut off, you will see it.

¹⁰ The righteous will rejoice when they see they are avenged; they will wash their feet in the blood of the wicked. ¹¹ Then men will say, “There is surely a reward for the righteous! There is surely a God who judges the earth!”

¹⁰ My God of loving devotion will come to meet me; God will let me stare down my foes.

⁸ You will only see it with your eyes and witness the punishment of the wicked.

¹¹ My eyes see the downfall of my enemies; my ears hear the wailing of my wicked foes.

⁸ His heart is assured; he does not fear, until he looks in triumph on his foes.

⁷ The LORD is on my side; He is my helper. Therefore I will look in triumph on those who hate me.

¹⁸ And the Lord will rescue me from every evil action and bring me safely into His heavenly kingdom. To Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
