¹⁴ Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who did not sin in the way that Adam transgressed. He is a pattern of the One to come.

²² Of all that was on dry land, everything that had the breath of life in its nostrils died.

⁶ Now Joseph and all his brothers and all that generation died,

⁷ But they, like Adam, have transgressed the covenant; there they were unfaithful to Me.

¹¹ So should I not care about the great city of Nineveh, which has more than 120,000 people who cannot tell their right hand from their left, and many cattle as well?”

¹⁷ For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive an abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!

²¹ so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

²⁰ For the creation was subjected to futility, not by its own will, but because of the One who subjected it, in hope
