⁹ Give therefore unto thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, and to discern between good, and bad. For who is able to judge this, thy so weighty a people?"

¹¹ And Moses said unto God, "What am I, to go to Pharaoh and to bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?" ¹² And he said, "I will be with thee. And this shall be a token unto thee that I have sent thee: after that thou hast brought the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain."

¹⁰ And Moses said unto the LORD, "O my Lord. I am not eloquent, no not in times past and namely since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow mouthed and slow tongued." ¹¹ And the LORD said unto him, "Who hath made man's mouth, or who hath made the dumb or the deaf, the seeing or the blind? Have not I, the LORD? ¹² Go therefore and I will be with thy mouth and teach thee what thou shalt say." ¹³ And he said, "O my Lord, send I pray thee whom thou wilt."

¹⁷ Then thine handmaid said, 'I pray God that the word of my lord the king may be immutable. For my lord the king is as an angel of God, in hearing of good or bad.' And therefore the LORD thy God be with thee."

²⁸ And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged and feared the king: for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him to do justice.

¹² And the LORD give thee wisdom and understanding, and make thee governor of Israel, and to keep the law of the LORD thy God.

¹⁹ And give unto Solomon my son, a pure heart to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies and thine ordinances, and to do all, and to build the house which I intended."

¹⁰ Wherefore give me wisdom and knowledge how to behave myself unto this people: for who is able to judge this people that is so great?"

¹ {Of Solomon} Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king's son. ² Then shall he judge thy people according unto right, and defend the poor.

³⁴ O give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea I shall keep it with my whole heart.

⁷³ {Yod} Thy hands have made me and fashioned me, O give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments.

¹⁴⁴ The righteousness of thy testimonies is everlasting; O grant me understanding, and I shall live.

³ For if thou criest after wisdom, and callest for knowledge; ⁴ If thou seekest after her as after money, and diggest for her as for treasures; ⁵ then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. ⁶ For it is the LORD that giveth wisdom, out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. ⁷ He preserveth the welfare of the righteous, and defendeth them that walk innocently; ⁸ He keepeth them in the right path, and preserveth the way of his saints. ⁹ Then shalt thou understand righteousness, judgment and equity - yea, and every good path.

¹³ Well is him that findeth wisdom, and obtaineth understanding, ¹⁴ for the getting of it is better than any merchandise of silver, and the profit of it is better than gold. ¹⁵ Wisdom is more worth than precious stones, and all the things that thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. ¹⁶ Upon her righthand is long life, and upon her left hand is riches and honour. ¹⁷ Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peaceable. ¹⁸ She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her, and blessed are they that keep her fast.

⁸ The wisdom of him that hath understanding is to take heed unto his way; but the foolishness of the unwise deceiveth.

¹⁶ To have wisdom in possession is better than gold; and to get understanding is more worth than silver.

¹² As for the hearing of the ear and the sight of the eye, the LORD hath made them both.

¹¹ Wisdom is better than riches; yea, much more worth than the eyesight.

¹⁹ Wisdom giveth more courage unto the wise, than ten mighty men of the city.

¹⁵ And in the city there was found a poor man - but he was wise - which with his wisdom delivered the city: yet was there no body, that had any respect for such a simple man. ¹⁶ Then said I, "Wisdom is better than strength." Nevertheless, a simple man's wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard. ¹⁷ A wise man's counsel that is followed in silence, is far above the crying of a captain among fools. ¹⁸ For wisdom is better than harness: but one unthrifty alone destroyeth much good.

² And on him shall light the spirit of the LORD: the spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the spirit of counsel and of strength, the spirit of knowledge and of reverence, and it shall make him savour of the fear of the LORD ³ And he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes: neither shall rebuke after the hearing of his ears. ⁴ But he shall judge the causes of the poor with righteousness, and shall rebuke with equity for the humble of the earth. And he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall slay the wicked.

⁶ Then said I, "Oh LORD God, I cannot speak, for I am yet but young."

¹¹ I baptise you in water in token of repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptise you with the holy ghost and with fire:

¹⁴ But John forbad him, saying, "I ought to be baptised of thee, and comest thou to me?"

³⁰ I can of mine own self do nothing at all. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not mine own will: But the will of the father which hath sent me.

¹⁴ For the natural man perceiveth not the things of the spirit of God, for they are but foolishness unto him: Neither can he perceive them, because he is spiritually examined. ¹⁵ But he that is spiritual discusseth all things: yet he himself is judged of no man. ¹⁶ to the one part are we the savor of death unto death; and unto the other part are we the savor of life unto life. And who is mete unto these things?

⁵ not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as it were of ourselves; but our ableness cometh of God;

¹⁷ Wherefore, be ye not unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

¹⁰ that ye might accept things most excellent, that ye might be pure and such as should hurt no man's conscience, until the day of Christ;

¹⁴ But strong meat belongeth to them that are perfect, which through custom have their wits exercised, to judge both good and evil also.

⁵ If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, which giveth to all men indifferently and casteth no man in the teeth; and it shall be given him.

¹⁷ but the wisdom that is from above, is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without judging, and without simulation.
