¹³ but walkedst in the ways of Asa king of Israel and hast made Judah and the dwellers of Jerusalem go a-whoring, like to the whoring of the house of Ahab, and hast thereto slain thy brethren that were thy father's house, which were better than thou:

¹⁰ And he said, "What hast thou done? The voice of thy brother's blood cryeth unto me out of the earth. ¹¹ And now cursed be thou as pertaining to the earth, which opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood of thine hand. ¹² For when thou tillest the ground she shall henceforth not give her power unto thee. A vagabond and a renegade shalt thou be upon the earth."

²¹ Then they said one to another, "We have verily sinned against our brother, in that we saw the anguish of his soul when he besought us, and would not hear him: therefore is this trouble come upon us." ²² Reuben answered them, saying, "Said I not unto you that ye should not sin against the lad? But ye would not hear; And now verily see, his blood is required."

¹⁵ lest, if thou make any covenant with the inhabiters of the land, when they go a whoring after their gods and do sacrifice unto their gods, they call thee and thou eat of their sacrifice;

⁴ And when Jehoram was up upon the kingdom of his father and settled, he slew all his other brethren with the sword, and divers of the lords of Israel thereto.

⁶ And he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, like as did the house of Ahab - for a daughter of Ahab was his wife - and he wrought evil in the eyes of the LORD.

¹¹ Moreover, he made hill altars in the mountains of Judah, and caused the inhabiters of Jerusalem to commit adultery, and he thrust Judah out of the way.

²¹ For behold, the LORD will go out of his habitation, and visit the wickedness of them that dwell upon earth. The earth also shall disclose her own blood, and shall no more hide those that are slain in her.

⁸ Namely, that after I had well seen the adultery of the shrinking harlot Israel, I put her away, and gave her a bill of divorcement. For all this, her unfaithful sister Judah was not ashamed, but went back and played the whore also. ⁹ Yea, and the noise of her whoredom hath defiled the whole land. For she hath committed her adultery with stones and stocks.

¹² Woe unto him, that buildeth the town with blood, and maintaineth the city with unrighteousness.

¹² and not be as Cain, which was of the devil and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? For his own deeds were evil, and his brother's righteous.
