¹⁸ And then Shaphan the scribe showed the king, saying, "Hilkiah the priest hath given me a book." And he read it before the king.

¹⁹ And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all days of his life that he may learn to fear the LORD his God for to keep all the words of this law and these ordinances for to do them:

⁸ Let not the book of this law depart out of thy mouth: but record therein day and night that thou mayest be circumspect to do according to all that is written therein. For then shalt thou make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have understanding.

⁴⁶ I will speak of thy testimonies even before kings, and will not be ashamed.

⁹⁷ {Mem} O LORD, what love have I unto thy law! All the day long is my study in it. ⁹⁸ Thou, through thy commandments, hast made me wiser than mine enemies; for they are ever with me. ⁹⁹ I have more understanding than all my teachers; for thy testimonies are my study.

²⁰ And they went in to the king to the court. but they kept the book in the chamber of Elishama the Scribe, and told the king all the words that he might hear. ²¹ So the king sent Jehudi to fetch him the book, which he brought out of Elishama the Scribe's chamber. And Jehudi read it, that the king and all the princes, which were about him might hear.
