Acts 9 Cross References - MSTC

1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, 2 and desired of him letters to Damascus, to the synagogues: that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. 3 But as he journeyed, it fortuned that he drew nigh to Damascus, and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven. 4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?" 5 And he said, "What art thou, Lord?" And the Lord said, "I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it shall be hard for thee to kick against the prick." 6 And he, both trembling and astonished, said, "Lord what wilt thou have me to do?" And the Lord said unto him, "Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou shalt do." 7 The men which journeyed with him on his way stood amazed, for they heard a voice, but saw no man. 8 And Saul arose from the earth, and opened his eyes, but saw no man. Then led they him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus. 9 And he was three days without sight, and neither ate nor drank. 10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias, and to him said the Lord in a vision, "Ananias." And he said, "Behold, I am here Lord." 11 And the Lord said to him, "Arise, and go into the street which is called straight, and seek in the house of Judas after one called Saul of the city of Tarsus. For behold, he prayeth; 12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in unto him; And putting his hands on him, that he might receive his sight." 13 Then Ananias answered, "Lord I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem: 14 and here he hath authority of the high priests to bind all that call on thy name." 15 The Lord said unto him, "Go thy ways: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the gentiles, and kings and the children of Israel: 16 For I will show him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake." 17 Ananias went his way and entered into the house and put his hands on him and said, "Brother Saul, the Lord that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight and be filled with the holy ghost." 18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales and he received his sight, and arose and was baptised. 19 And received meat and was comforted. Then was Saul a certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus. 20 And straightway he preached Christ in the Synagogues how that he was the son of God. 21 All that heard him were amazed and said, "Is not this he that spoiled them which called on this name in Jerusalem? And came hither for the intent that he should bring them bound unto the high priests?" 22 But Saul increased in strength; And confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus affirming that this was very Christ. 23 And after a good while, the Jews took counsel together among themselves, to kill him. 24 But their layings wait was known of Saul. And they watched at the gates day and night to kill him. 25 Then the disciples took him by night, and put him through the wall and let him down in a basket. 26 And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to couple himself with the disciples, and they were all afraid of him and believed not that he was a disciple. 27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared to them how he had seen the Lord in the way and had spoken with him: and how he had done boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus; 28 And he had his conversation with them at Jerusalem, 29 and quit himself boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus. And he spake and disputed with the Greeks; and they went about to slay him. 30 But when the brethren knew of that, they brought him to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus. 31 Then had the congregations rest, throughout all Jewry and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified, and walked in the fear of the Lord; And multiplied by the comfort of the holy ghost. 32 And it chanced that as Peter walked throughout all quarters, he came to the saints which dwelt at Lydda. 33 And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years sick of the palsy. 34 Then said Peter unto him, "Aeneas, the Lord Jesus Christ make thee whole: Arise and make thy bed." When they had washed her and laid her in a chamber - 38 Because Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there — they sent unto him, desiring him that he would not be grieved to come unto them. 39 Peter arose and came with them: And when he was come, they brought him into the chamber, and all the widows stood round about him weeping and showing the coats and garments which Dorcas made while she was with them. 40 And Peter put them all forth and kneeled down and prayed and turned him to the body, and said, "Tabitha, arise." And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up. 41 And he gave her the hand and lift her up, and called the saints and widows and showed her alive. 42 And it was known throughout all Joppa, and many believed on the Lord. 43 And it fortuned that he tarried many days in Joppa, with one Simon, a tanner.

Acts 17:10

10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul, and Silas by night unto Berea. Which, when they were come thither, they entered into the Synagogue of the Jews. 11 These were the noblest of birth among them of Thessalonica, which received the word with all diligence of mind, and searched the scriptures daily whether those things were even so. 12 And many of them believed, also of worshipful women which were Greeks; and of men, not a few. 13 When the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was preached of Paul at Berea, they came there and moved the people: 14 and then, by and by, the brethren sent away Paul to go as it were to the sea. But Silas and Timothy abode there still. 15 And they that guided Paul brought him unto Athens, and received a commandment unto Silas and Timothy for to come to him at once. And came their way.

Acts 19:17-18

17 And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also, which dwelt at Ephesus, and fear came on them all. And they magnified the name of the Lord Jesus. 18 And many that believed came, and confessed and showed their works.

35 I have showed you all things, how that so laboring ye ought to receive the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how that he said, 'It is more blessed to give, than to receive.'" 36 When he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.

Acts 21:4

4 And when we had found brethren, we tarried there seven days. And they told Paul through the spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem. 5 And when the days were ended we departed, and went our ways, and they all brought us on our way, with their wives and children, till we were come out of the city. Acts 22:4

4 and I persecuted this way unto the death: binding, and delivering into prison both men and women, 5 as the chief priest doth bear me witness, and all the elders: of whom also I received letters unto the brethren, and went to Damascus to bring them which were there bound unto Jerusalem for to be punished. 6 And it fortuned that as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus, about noon, that suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me, 7 and I fell unto the earth, and heard a voice saying unto me, 'Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?' 8 And I answered, 'What art thou Lord?' And he said unto me, 'I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.' 9 And they that were with me saw verily a light and were afraid: but they heard not the voice of him that spake with me. 10 And I said, 'What shall I do Lord?' And the Lord said unto me, 'Arise and go into Damascus and there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do.' 11 And when I saw nothing for the brightness of that light, I was led by the hand of them that were with me, and came into Damascus. 12 And one Ananias, a perfect man, and as pertaining to the law having good report of all the Jews which there dwelt,

Acts 22:12-14

12 And one Ananias, a perfect man, and as pertaining to the law having good report of all the Jews which there dwelt, 13 came unto me, and stood and said unto me, 'Brother Saul, look up.' And that same hour I received my sight and saw him. 14 And he said unto me, 'The God of our fathers hath ordained thee before, that thou shouldest know his will, and shouldest see that which is rightful, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth:

Acts 22:16

16 And now: why tarriest thou? Arise and be baptised, and wash away thy sins, in calling on the name of the Lord.' 17 And it fortuned, when I was come again to Jerusalem and prayed in the temple, that I was in a trance; 18 And saw him saying unto me, 'Make haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem: for they will not receive thy witness that thou bearest of me.' 19 And I said, 'Lord they know that I prisoned, and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee. 20 And when the blood of thy witness Stephen was shed, I also stood by, and consented unto his death and kept the raiment of them that slew him.' 21 And he said unto me, 'Depart for I will send thee afar hence unto the gentiles.'"

Acts 22:21-23

21 And he said unto me, 'Depart for I will send thee afar hence unto the gentiles.'" 22 They gave him audience unto this word, and then lifted up their voices and said, "Away with such a fellow from the earth: it is pity that he should live." 23 And as they cried and cast off their clothes, and threw dust into the air,

Acts 23:12-21

12 When day was come, certain of the Jews gathered themselves together, and made a vow saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul. 13 They were about forty which had made this conspiration. 14 And they came to the chief priest and elders, and said, "We have bound ourselves with a vow, that we will eat nothing until we have slain Paul. 15 Now therefore give ye knowledge to the upper captain, and to the council that he bring him forth unto us tomorrow, as though we would know some thing more perfectly of him. But we, or ever he come near, are ready in the mean season to kill him." 16 When Paul's sister's son heard of their laying await, he went and entered into the castle, and told Paul. 17 And Paul called one of the under captains unto him, and said, "Bring this young man unto the high captain: for he hath a certain thing to show him." 18 And he took him, and led him to the high captain, and said, "Paul the prisoner called me unto him and prayed me to bring this young man unto thee, which hath a certain matter to show thee." 19 The high captain took him by the hand, and went apart with him out of the way, and asked him, "What hast thou to say unto me?" 20 And he said, "The Jews are determined to desire thee that thou wouldest bring forth Paul tomorrow into the council, as though they would enquire somewhat of him more perfectly. 21 But follow not their minds: for there lie in wait for him of them, more than forty men, which have bound themselves with a vow, that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him. And now are they ready, and look for thy promise."

Acts 24:25-26

25 And as he preached of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come; Felix trembled, and answered, "Thou hast done enough at this time: depart. When I have a convenient time, I will send for thee." 26 He hoped also that money should have been given him of Paul that he might loose him, wherefore he called him the oftener, and communed with him.

Acts 25:3

3 and desired favour against him that he would send for him to Jerusalem, and laid wait for him in the way to kill him.

Acts 25:11

11 If I have hurt them, or committed anything worthy of death, I refuse not to die. If none of these things are, whereof they accuse me, no man ought to deliver me to them. I appeal unto Caesar."

22 Agrippa said unto Festus, "I would also hear the man myself." "Tomorrow," said he, "thou shalt hear him."

9 I also verily thought in myself, that I ought to do many contrary things, clean against the name of Jesus of Nazareth:

Acts 26:9

9 I also verily thought in myself, that I ought to do many contrary things, clean against the name of Jesus of Nazareth: 10 which things I also did in Jerusalem. 10 which things I also did in Jerusalem. Where many of the saints shut I up in prison, and had received authority of the high priests: And when they were put to death I gave the sentence. 11 "And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled them to blaspheme: and was yet more mad upon them, and persecuted them even unto strange cities. 12 About the which things: as I went to Damascus with authority, and commission from license of the high priests,

12 About the which things: as I went to Damascus with authority, and commission from license of the high priests, 13 even at mid day, o King, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shine round about me and them, which journeyed with me.

Acts 26:13-14

13 even at mid day, o King, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shine round about me and them, which journeyed with me. 14 When we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, 'Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? It is hard for thee to kick against the prick.'

Acts 26:14-14

14 When we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, 'Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? It is hard for thee to kick against the prick.' 15 And I said, 'Who art thou Lord?' And he said, 'I am Jesus whom thou persecutest:

15 And I said, 'Who art thou Lord?' And he said, 'I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: 16 But rise and stand up on thy feet. For I have appeared unto thee for this purpose: to make thee a minister, and a witness both of those things which thou hast seen, and of those things in thee which I will appear unto thee, 17 delivering thee from the people, and from the gentiles, unto thee which now I send thee, 18 to open their eyes that they might turn from darkness unto light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith in me.' 19 "Wherefore king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision: 20 but showed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Jewry, and to the gentiles, that they should repent, and turn to God, and do the right works of repentance.

33 And in the meantime, betwixt that and day, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, "This is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting receiving nothing at all, 34 wherefore I pray you to take meat: for this no doubt is for your health, for there shall not a hair fall from the head of any of you." 35 And when he had thus spoken he took bread and gave thanks to God in presence of them all, and brake it, and began to eat. 36 Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took meat.

Acts 28:17-22

17 And it fortuned, after three days, that Paul called the chief of the Jews together. Acts 28:17-Romans 1:1

17 And it fortuned, after three days, that Paul called the chief of the Jews together. And when they were come, he said unto them, "Men and brethren, though I have committed no thing against the people, or laws of our fathers: yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans. 18 Which, when they had examined me, would have let me go, because they found no cause of death in me. 19 But when the Jews cried contrary, I was constrained to appeal unto Caesar. Not because I had ought to accuse my people of. 20 For this cause have I called for you, even to see you, and to speak with you. Because that for the hope of Israel, I am bound with this chain." 21 And they said unto him, "We neither received letters out of Jewry pertaining unto thee, neither came any of the brethren that showed or spake any harm of thee. 22 But we will hear of thee what thou thinkest. For we have heard of this sect, that everywhere it is spoken against." 23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many unto him into his lodging: to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God; and preached unto them of Jesus: both out of the law of Moses, and also out of the prophets, even from morning to night.

Romans 1:4

4 and declared to be the son of God with power of the holy ghost, that sanctifieth, since the time that Jesus Christ our Lord rose again from death: 5 by whom we have received grace and apostleship, to bring all manner heathen people unto obedience of the faith, that is in his name:

Romans 1:13-15

13 I would that ye should know, brethren, how that I have oftentimes purposed to come unto you, but have been let hitherto, to have some fruit among you, as I have among other of the gentiles. 14 For I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to them which are no Greeks, unto the learned and also unto the unlearned. 15 Likewise, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the Gospel to you of Rome also.

Romans 5:5

5 and hope maketh not ashamed: for the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts, by the holy ghost, which is given unto us.

20 But the law, in the meantime, entered in that sin should increase. Neverthelater, where abundance of sin was, there was more plenteousness of grace.

Romans 7:9

9 I once lived without law: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I was dead.

Romans 9:15-24

15 For he saith to Moses, "I will show mercy to whom I show mercy: And will have compassion on whom I have compassion." 16 So lieth it not then in a man's will, or cunning, but in the mercy of God. 17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, "Even for this same purpose have I stirred thee up, to show my power on thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the world." 18 So hath he mercy on whom he will. And whom he will, he maketh hard hearted. 19 Thou wilt say then unto me, "Why then blameth he us yet? For who can resist his will?" 20 But O man what art thou, which disputest with God? Shall the work say to the workman, "Why hast thou made me on this fashion?" 21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, even of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? 22 Even so, God, willing to show his wrath, and to make his power known, suffered with long patience the vessels of wrath, ordained to damnation, 23 that he might declare the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had prepared unto glory: 24 that is to say, us which he called, not of the Jews only, but also of the gentiles.

Romans 10:3

3 For they are ignorant of the righteousness which is allowed before God, and go about to establish their own righteousness: and therefore, are not obedient unto the righteousness which is of value before God.

Romans 10:12-14

12 There is no difference between the Jew and the gentile. For one is Lord of all: which is rich unto all that call on him. 13 For whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be safe. 14 But how shall they call on him, on whom they believed not? How shall they believe on him of whom they have not heard? How shall they hear without a preacher?

13 The God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may be rich in hope through the power of the holy ghost.

Romans 15:15-21

15 Nevertheless, brethren, I have somewhat boldly written unto you, as one that putteth you in remembrance, through the grace that is given me of God 16 for this purpose: that I should be the minister of Jesus Christ among the gentiles, and should minister the glad tidings of God, that the gentiles might be an acceptable offering, sanctified by the holy ghost. 17 I have, therefore, whereof I may rejoice in Christ Jesus, in those things which pertain to God. 18 For I dare not speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the gentiles obedient, with word and deed, 19 in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the spirit of God: so that from Jerusalem and the coasts round about, unto Illyricum, I have filled all countries with glad tidings of Christ. 20 So have I enforced myself to preach the gospel: not where Christ was named, lest I should have built on another man's foundation, 21 but as it is written, "To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that heard not, shall understand."

Romans 15:25-26

25 Now go I unto Jerusalem, and minister unto the saints. 26 For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia, to make a certain distribution upon the poor saints which are at Jerusalem.

2 Unto the congregation of God which is at Corinth. To them that are sanctified in Jesus Christ, saints by calling, with all that call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, both of theirs and of ours.

1 Corinthians 1:27

27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world, to confound the wise. And God hath chosen the weak things of the world, to confound things which are mighty.

1 Corinthians 3:9-15

9 We are God's laborers: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. 10 According to the grace of God given unto me, as a wise builder have I laid the foundation; and another hath built thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth upon. 11 For other foundation can no man lay, than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 If any man build on this foundation, gold, silver, precious stones, timber, hay, or stubble: 13 every man's work shall appear. For the day shall declare it, and it shall be showed in fire, and the fire shall try every man's work what it is. 14 If any man's work, that he hath built upon, abide; he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work burn; he shall suffer loss. But he shall be safe himself, nevertheless yet as it were through fire.

1 Corinthians 4:7

7 For who preferreth thee? What hast thou, that thou hast not received? If thou have received it: why boastest thou as though thou hadst not received it?

1 Corinthians 4:9-13

9 Me thinketh that God hath set forth us, which are apostles, for the lowest of all: as it were, men appointed to death. For we are a gazingstock unto the world, and to the angels, and to men. 10 We are fools for Christ's sake, and ye are wise through Christ: we are weak, and ye are strong. Ye are honorable, and we are despised. 11 Even unto this day we hunger and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted with fists, and have no certain dwelling place, 12 and labour working with our own hands. We are reviled, and yet we bless. We are persecuted, and suffer it. 13 We are evil spoken of, and we pray. We are made as it were the filthiness of the world, the offscouring of all things, even unto this time.

1 Corinthians 9:6

6 Either only I and Barnabas have not power this to do?

1 Corinthians 10:22

22 Either, shall we provoke the Lord? Or are we stronger than he?

1 Corinthians 12:12

12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of one body though they be many, yet are but one body: even so is Christ.

1 Corinthians 14:4-5

4 He that speaketh with tongues, profiteth himself: he that prophesieth, edifieth the congregation. 5 I would that ye all spake with tongues: but rather that ye prophesied. For greater is he that prophesieth, than he that speaketh with tongues, except he expound it also, that the congregation may have edifying.

1 Corinthians 14:12

12 Even so ye — forasmuch as ye covet spiritual gifts — seek that ye may have plenty unto the edifying of the congregation.

1 Corinthians 14:26

26 How is it then brethren? When ye come together, every man hath his song, hath his doctrine, hath his tongue, hath his revelation, hath his interpretation: Let all things be done unto edifying.

1 Corinthians 15:8

8 And last of all he was seen of me, as of one that was born out of due time. 9 For I am the least of all the apostles, which am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the congregation of God: 10 But by the grace of God I am that I am. And his grace which is in me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which is with me.

1 Corinthians 15:47

47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: The second man is the Lord, from heaven.

2 Corinthians 3:14

14 But their minds were blinded. For until this day remaineth the same covering, untaken away, in the old testament when they read it — which in Christ is put away:

16 Nevertheless when they turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away.

2 Corinthians 4:6

6 For it is God that commanded the light to shine out of darkness, which hath shined in our hearts, for to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

1 Seeing that we have such promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, and grow up to full holiness in the fear of God.

12 For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.

2 Corinthians 10:8

8 And though I should boast myself somewhat more of our authority which the Lord hath given us to edify and not to destroy you, it should not be to my shame.

2 Corinthians 11:23-27

23 They are the ministers of Christ — I speak as a fool — I am more: In labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prison more plenteously, 24 in death often. Of the Jews, five times received I, every time, forty stripes, save one. 25 Thrice was I beaten with rods. I was once stoned. I suffered thrice shipwreck. Night and day have I been in the deep of the sea. 26 In journeying often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers; in jeopardies of mine own nation, in jeopardies among the heathen. I have been in perils in cities, in perils in wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;

2 Corinthians 11:26

26 In journeying often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers; in jeopardies of mine own nation, in jeopardies among the heathen. I have been in perils in cities, in perils in wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; 27 in labour and travail, in watching often, in hunger, in thirst, in fastings often, in cold and in nakedness.

2 Corinthians 11:32

32 In the city of Damascus, the governor of the people under king Aretas, laid watch in the city of the Damascenes, and would have caught me, 33 and at a window was I let down in a basket through the wall, and so escaped his hands.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

9 and he said unto me, "My grace is sufficient for thee. For my strength is made perfect through weakness." Very gladly therefore will I rejoice of my weakness, that the strength of Christ may dwell in me. 10 Therefore have I delectation in infirmities, in rebukes, in need, in persecutions, in anguish, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong.

2 Corinthians 12:19

19 Again, think ye that we excuse ourselves? We speak in Christ in the sight of God. But we do all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying.

2 Corinthians 13:10

10 Therefore write I these things being absent, lest when I am present I should use sharpness according to the power which the Lord hath given me, to edify, and not to destroy.
