Genesis 17 Cross References - MSTC

1 When Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to him saying, "I am the almighty God: walk before me and be uncorrupt. 2 And I will make my covenant between thee and me, and will multiply thee exceedingly." 3 And Abram fell on his face. And God talked moreover with him, saying, 4 "I am. Behold, my covenant is with thee, that thou shalt be a father of many nations. 5 Therefore shalt thou no more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham: for a father of many nations have I made thee, 6 and I will multiply thee exceedingly, and will make nations of thee: yea, and kings shall spring out of thee. 7 Moreover, I will make my covenant between me, and thee, and thy seed after thee; in their times to be an everlasting testament, so that I will be God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. 8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger: even all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession, and will be their God." 9 And God said unto Abraham, "See thou keep my covenant, both thou and thy seed after thee in their times. 10 This is my covenant which ye shall keep between me and you and thy seed after thee: that ye circumcise all your men children. 11 Ye shall circumcise the foreskin of your flesh, and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you. 12 And every manchild when it is eight days old, shall be circumcised among you in your generations, and all servants also born at home or bought with money, though they be strangers and not of thy seed. 13 The servant born in thy house, and he also that is bought with money, must needs be circumcised, that my covenant may be in your flesh, for an everlasting bond. 14 If there be any uncircumcised manchild, that hath not the foreskin of his flesh cut off, his soul shall perish from his people: because he hath broken my covenant." 15 And God said unto Abraham, "Sarai, thy wife, shall no more be called Sarai: but Sara shall her name be. 16 For I will bless her and give thee a son of her; and will bless her so that people, yea and kings of people, shall spring of her." 17 And Abraham fell upon his face and laughed, and said in his heart, "Shall a child be born unto him that is a hundred years old? And shall Sara, that is ninety years old, bear?" 18 And Abraham said unto God, "O that Ishmael might live in thy sight!" 19 Then said God, "Nay. Sara thy wife shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name Isaac. And I will make my covenant with him, that it shall be an everlasting covenant unto his seed after him. 20 And as concerning Ishmael also, I have heard thy request: lo, I will bless him and increase him, and multiply him exceedingly. Twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make a great nation of him. 21 But my covenant will I make with Isaac, which Sara shall bear unto thee: even this time, twelve month." 22 And God left off talking with him, and departed up from Abraham. 23 And Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all the servants born in his house, and all that was bought with money; as many as were men children among the men of Abraham's house, and circumcised the foreskin of their flesh, even the selfsame day, as God had said unto him. 24 Abraham was ninety years old and nine when he cut off the foreskin of his flesh. 25 And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old, when the foreskin of his flesh was circumcised. 26 The selfsame day was Abraham circumcised and Ishmael his son. 27 And all the men in his house, whether they were born in his house or bought with money, though they were strangers, were circumcised with him.

6 In Simeon, Shelumiel: the son of Zurishaddai; 7 In the tribe of Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab; 8 In Issachar, Nethanel the son of Zuar; 9 In Zebulun, Eliab the son of Helon. 10 Among the children of Joseph: In Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud; 19 as the LORD commanded Moses, even so he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai. 20 And the children of Reuben, Israel's eldest son, in their generations, kindreds and houses of their fathers — when they were numbered every man by name, all that were males from twenty years and above, as many as were able to go forth in war - 21 were numbered in the tribe of Reuben, forty six thousand and five hundred. 22 Among the children of Simeon, their generation in their kindreds and houses of their fathers — when every man's name was told, of all the males from twenty years and above, whatsoever was meet for the war - 23 were numbered in the tribe of Simeon forty nine thousand and three hundred. 24 Among the children of Gad, their generation in their kindreds and households of their fathers — when they were told by name, from twenty years and above, all that were mete for the war - 25 were numbered in the tribe of Gad forty five thousand, six hundred and fifty. 26 Among the children of Judah, their generation in their kindreds and houses of their fathers — by the number of names, from twenty years and above, all that were able to war - 27 were told in the tribe of Judah seventy four thousand and six hundred. 28 Among the children of Issachar, their generation, in their kindreds and houses of their fathers — when their names were counted, from twenty years and above, whatsoever was apt for war — 29 were numbered in the tribe of Issachar fifty four thousand and four hundred. 30 Among the children of Zebulun, their generation, in their kindreds and houses of their fathers —after the number of names, from twenty years and above, whosoever was mete for the war - 31 were counted in the tribe of Zebulun fifty seven thousand and four hundred. 32 Among the children of Joseph, first among the children of Ephraim, their generation, in their kindreds and houses of their fathers — when the names of all that were apt to the war were told, from twenty years and above - 33 were in number in the tribe of Ephraim, forty thousand, and six hundred. 34 Among the children of Manasseh, their generation, in their kindreds and houses of their fathers — when the names of all that were apt to war were told, 35 from twenty and above — were numbered in the tribe of Manasseh thirty two thousand and two hundred. 36 Among the children of Benjamin, their generation, in their kindreds and houses of their fathers — by the tale of names, from twenty years and above of all that were mete for war - 37 were numbered in the tribe of Benjamin thirty five thousand and four hundred. 38 Among the children of Dan, their generation in their kindreds and houses of their fathers — in the sum of names of all that was apt to war, 39 from twenty years and above — were numbered in the tribe of Dan fifty seven thousand and seven hundred. 40 Among the children of Asher, their generation, in their kindreds and houses of their fathers — when they were summed by name, from twenty years and above, all that were apt to war - 41 were numbered in the tribe of Asher forty one thousand and five hundred. 42 Among the children of Naphtali, their generation in their kindreds and houses of their fathers — when their names were told, from twenty years and above, whatsoever was mete to war - 43 were numbered in the tribe of Naphtali fifty three thousand and four hundred. 44 These are the numbers which Moses and Aaron numbered with the twelve princes of Israel: of every house of their fathers, a man. 45 And all the numbers of the children of Israel, in the houses of their fathers, from twenty years and above, whatsoever was mete for the war in Israel, 46 drew unto the sum of six hundred and three thousand, five hundred and fifty. 47 But the Levites in the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them. 48 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 49 "Only see that thou number not the tribe of Levi, neither take the sum of them among the children of Israel. 50 But thou shalt appoint the Levites unto the habitation of witness, and to all the apparel thereof and unto all that longeth thereto. For they shall bear the tabernacle and all the ordinance thereof, and they shall minister it and shall pitch their tents round about it. 51 And when the tabernacle goeth forth, the Levites shall take it down: and when the tabernacle is pitched, they shall set it up: for if any stranger come near, he shall die. 52 And the children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man in his own company and every man by his own standard throughout all their hosts. 53 But the Levites shall pitch round about the habitation of witness, that there fall no wrath upon the congregation of the children of Israel, and the Levites shall wait upon the habitation of witness." 54 And the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses.

This is that Dathan and Abiram, councilors in the congregation, which strove against Moses and Aaron in the company of Korah, when they strove against the LORD. 10 And the earth opened her mouth and swallowed them and Korah also, when the multitude died, what time the fire consumed two hundred and fifty men, and they became a sign: 11 Notwithstanding, the children of Korah died not. 12 And the children of Simeon in their kindreds were: Nemuel, of whom cometh the kindred of the Nemuelites; Jamin, of whom cometh the kindred of the Jaminites; Jachin, of whom cometh the kindred of the Jachinites; 13 Zerah of whom cometh the kindred of the Zerahites; Shaul of whom cometh the kindred of the Shaulites. 14 These are the kindreds of the Simeonites, in number twenty two thousand and two hundred. 15 And the children of Gad in their kindreds were: Zephon, of whom cometh the kindred of the Zephonites; and of Haggi, cometh the kindred of the Haggites; and of Shuni, cometh the kindred of the Shunites; 16 and of Ozni, cometh the kindred of the Oznites; and of Eri cometh the kindred of the Erites; 17 and of Arod cometh the kindred of the Arodites: and of Areli cometh the kindred of the Arelites. 18 These are the kindreds of the children of Gad, in number forty thousand and five hundred. 19 The children of Judah: Er and Onan, which died in the land of Canaan. 20 But the children of Judah in their kindred were: Shelah of whom cometh the kindred of the Shelanites; and of Perez cometh the kindred of the Perezites; and of Zerah cometh the kindred of the Zerahites. 21 And the children of Perez were Hezron, of whom cometh the kindred of the Hezronites: and of Hamul cometh the kindred of the Hamulites. 22 These are the kindreds of Judah, in number seventy six thousand and five hundred. 23 And the children of Issachar in their kindreds were: Tola, of whom cometh the kindred of the Tolaites: and Puvah, of whom cometh the kindred of the Punites; 24 and of Jashub cometh the kindred of the Jashubites; and of Shimron cometh the kindred of the Shimronites. 25 These are the kindreds of Issachar, in number sixty four thousand and three hundred. 26 The children of Zebulun in their kindreds were: Sered, of whom cometh the kindred of the Seredites; and Elon, of whom cometh the kindred of the Elonites; and of Jahleel, cometh the kindred of the Jahleelites. 27 These are the kindreds of Zebulun, in number sixty thousand and five hundred. 28 The children of Joseph in their kindreds were: Manasseh and Ephraim. 29 The children of Manasseh: Machir, of whom cometh the kindred of the Machirites. And Machir begat Gilead, of whom cometh the kindred of the Gileadites. 30 And these are the children of Gilead: Iezer, of whom cometh the kindred of the Iezerites; and of Helek cometh the kindred of the Helekites; 31 and of Asriel the kindred of the Asrielites; and of Shechem cometh the kindred of the Shechemites; 32 and of Shemida cometh the kindred of the Shemidites; and of Hepher cometh the kindred of the Hepherites. 33 And Zelophehad the son of Hepher had no sons but daughters. And the names of the daughters of Zelophehad were: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah and Tirzah. 34 These are the kindreds of Manasseh, in number fifty two thousand and seven hundred. 35 These are the children of Ephraim in their kindreds: Shuthelah, of whom cometh the kindred of the Shuthelahites; and Becher, of whom cometh the kindred of the Becherites; and of Tahan cometh the kindred of the Tahanites. 36 And these are the children of Shuthelah: Eran, of whom cometh the kindred of the Eranites. 37 These are the kindreds of the children of Ephraim, in number thirty two thousand and five hundred. And these are the children of Joseph in their kindreds. 38 These are the children of Benjamin in their kindreds: Bela, of whom cometh the kindred of the Belaites; and of Ashbel cometh the kindred of the Ashbelites; and of Ahiram, the kindred of the Ahiramites; 39 and of Shephupham the kindred of the Shephuphamites; and of Hupham the kindred of the Huphamites. 40 And the children of Bela were Ard and Naaman from whence come the kindreds of the Ardites and of the Naamites. 41 These are the children of Benjamin in their kindreds, and in number forty five thousand and six hundred. 42 These are the children of Dan in their kindreds: Shuham, of whom cometh the kindred of the Shuhamites. These are the kindreds of Dan in their generations. 43 And all the kindreds of the Shuhamites were in number sixty four thousand and four hundred. 44 The children of Asher in their kindreds were: Imnah, of whom cometh the kindred of the Imnites; and Ishvi, of whom cometh the kindred of the Ishvites; and of Beriah cometh the kindred of Beriites. 45 And the children of Beriah were Heber, of whom cometh the kindred of the Heberites; and of Malchiel came the kindred of the Malchielites. 46 And the daughter of Asher was called Sarah. 47 These are the kindreds of Asher, in number fifty three thousand and four hundred. 48 The children of Naphtali in their kindreds were: Jahzeel, of whom came the kindred of the Jahzeelites; and Guni, of whom came the kindred of the Gunites; 49 and of Jezer, came the kindred of the Jezerites; and of Shillem the kindred of Shillemites. 50 These are the kindreds of Naphtali in their generations, in number forty five thousand and four hundred. 51 These are the numbers of the children of Israel: six hundred thousand, and a thousand seven hundred and thirty. 52 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 53 "Unto these the land shall be divided to inherit, according to the number of names: 54 to many, thou shalt give the more inheritance; and to few, the less. To every tribe shall the inheritance be given according to the number thereof. 55 Notwithstanding, the land shall be divided by lot; and according to the names of the tribes of their fathers, they shall inherit: 56 and according to their lot thou shalt divide their land, both to the many and to the few." 57 These are the sums of the Levites in their kindreds: of Gershon, came the kindred of the Gershonites; and of Kohath came the kindred of the Kohathites; and of Merari came the kindred of the Merarites. 58 These are the kindreds of Levi: the kindred of the Libnites, the kindred of the Hebronites, the kindred of the Mahlites, the kindred of the Mushites, the kindred of the Korahites. Kohath begat Amram, 59 and Amram's wife was called Jochebed; a daughter of Levi, which was born him in Egypt. And she bare unto Amram, Aaron, Moses and Miriam their sister. 60 And unto Aaron were born, Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. 61 But Nadab and Abihu died, as they offered strange fire before the LORD. 62 And the number of them was twenty three thousand, of all the males from a month old and above. For they were not numbered among the children of Israel, because there was no inheritance given them among the children of Israel. 63 These are the numbers of the children of Israel which Moses and Eleazar the priest numbered in the fields of Moab, fast by Jordan nigh to Jericho. 64 And among these there was not a man of the number of the children of Israel which Moses and Aaron told in the wilderness of Sinai. 65 For the LORD said unto them, that they should die in the wilderness and that there should not be left a man of them: save Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun.

Romans 4:11-18

11 And he received the sign of circumcision, as a seal of the righteousness which is by faith: which faith he had, yet being uncircumcised, that he should be the father of all them that believe: though they be not circumcised, that righteousness might be imputed to them also; 12 And that he might be the father of the circumcised: not because they are circumcised only: but because they walk also in the steps of that faith, that was in our father Abraham before the time of circumcision. 13 For the promise that he should be heir of the world was not given to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law: but through the righteousness which cometh of faith. 14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, then is faith but vain, and the promise of none effect. 15 Because the law causeth wrath. For where no law is, there is no transgression. 16 Therefore by faith is the inheritance given, that it might come of favour: and that the promise might be sure to all the seed. Not to them only which are of the law: but also to them which are of the faith of Abraham, which is the father of us all. 17 As it is written, "I have made thee a father to many nations," even before God whom thou hast believed, which quickeneth the dead and called those things which be not, as though they were. 18 Which Abraham, contrary to hope, believed in hope: that he should be the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, "So shall thy seed be."

2 That same time the LORD said unto Joshua, "Make thee knives of stone, and go to again and circumcise the children of Israel the second time." 3 And Joshua made him knives of stone and circumcised the children of Israel in the hill of foreskins. 4 And this is the cause why Joshua circumcised. All the people that came out of Egypt that were males, all that were men of war, died in the wilderness by the way after they came out of Egypt. 5 Now all the people that came out were circumcised. But all the people that were born in the wilderness by the way after they came out of Egypt, they circumcised not. 6 For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, till all the people of men of war that came out of Egypt were consumed, which hearkened not unto the voice of God; so that the LORD sware, that he would not show them the land which the LORD sware unto their fathers, that he would give us even a land that floweth with milk and honey. 7 And their children he set up in their stead. Them Joshua circumcised: for they were uncircumcised, because they circumcised them not by the way. 8 And when all the people were full circumcised, they abode still in their places in the host till they were whole. 9 And the LORD said unto Joshua, "This day I have taken away the shame of Egypt from you": and called the name of the same place Gilgal unto this day. 10 And the children of Israel pitched their tents in Gilgal, and held the feast of Passover the fourteenth day of the month, at even, in the fields of Jericho. 11 And they ate of the corn of the land on the morrow after Passover, sweet cakes and parched corn in the selfsame day. 12 And Manna ceased on the morrow, after they had eaten of the corn of the land, neither had the children of Israel Manna any more, but did eat of the fruits of the land of Canaan that year.

"Put away the bondwoman and her son. For the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the free woman." 31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman: but of the freewoman.
