12 Thou troddest down the land in thine anger, and didst thrash the Heathen in thy displeasure.

Numbers 21:23-35

23 And Sihon would give Israel no license to pass through his country, but gathered all his people together and went out against Israel into the wilderness. And he came to Jahaz and fought with Israel. 24 And Israel smote him with the edge of the sword and conquered his land, from Arnon unto Jabbok: even unto the children of Ammon. For the borders of the children of Ammon are strong. 25 And Israel took all these cities and dwelt in all the cities of the Amorites: in Heshbon and in all the towns that long thereto. 26 For Heshbon was the city of Sihon the king of the Amorites which Sihon had fought before with the king of the Moabites, and had taken all his land out of his hand, even unto Arnon. 27 Wherefore they that speak in proverbs say: "Go to Heshbon and let the city of Sihon be built and made ready! 28 For there is a fire gone out of Heshbon, and a flame from the city of Sihon, and hath consumed Ar of the Moabites and the men of the hills of Arnon! 29 Woe be to thee, Moab! O people of Chemosh, ye are forlorn! His sons are put to flight and his daughters brought captive unto Sihon, king of the Amorites! 30 Their light is out, from Heshbon unto Dibon! And we made a wilderness even unto Nophah, which reacheth unto Medeba!" 31 And thus Israel dwelt in the land of the Amorites. 32 And Moses sent to search out Jazer, and they took the towns belonging thereto and conquered the Amorites that were there. 33 And then they turned and went up toward Bashan. And Og, the king of Bashan, came out against them, both he and all his people, to war at Edrei. 34 And the LORD said unto Moses, "Fear him not, for I have delivered him into thy hands with all his people and his land. And thou shalt do with him as thou didst with Sihon, the king of the Amorites which dwelt at Heshbon." 35 And they smote him and his sons and all his people, until there was nothing left him. And they conquered his land.

Joshua 6:1-12

1 And Jericho shut in her people, and was shut for fear of the children of Israel, so that no man went out or in. 2 And the LORD said unto Joshua, "Behold, I have given into thine hand, Jericho and her king and the men of war. 3 And ye shall compass the city, all that be men of war, and go round about it once: and so shall you do six days. 4 And seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark. And the seventh day, ye shall compass the city seven times and the priests shall blow with their trumpets. 5 And when there is a long blast blown with the ram's horn, as soon as ye hear the sound of the horn, let all the people shout a mighty shout. And then shall the walls of the city fall down, and the people shall ascend up, every man straight before him." 6 And Joshua the son of Nun called unto the priests, and said unto them, "Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD." 7 And he said unto the people, "Go and compass the city: And let the men of arms go before the ark of the LORD." 8 And when Joshua had spoken unto the people, the seven priests that bare the seven trumpets of rams horns before the ark of the LORD went forth and blew with the horns, and the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed after them. 9 And the men of arms went before the priests that blew with the horns, and the common people came after the ark: and as they went, they blew with the horns. 10 And Joshua commanded the people, saying, "Shout not nor let your voice be heard, or any word proceed out of your mouths, until the day I bid you shout: and then shout." 11 And so the ark of the LORD compassed the city and went about it once: and then they returned unto the host and lodged there. 12 And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the LORD,

Nehemiah 9:22-24

22 And thou gavest them kingdoms and nations, and partest them according to their portions, so that they possessed the land of Sihon king of Heshbon, and the land of Og the king of Bashan. 23 And their children multipliedest thou as the stars of heaven, and broughtest them into the land whereof thou hadst spoken unto their fathers, that they should go in to it, and have it in possession. 24 And the children went in, and possessed the land, and thou subduedest before them the inhabiters of the land, even the Cananites, and gavest them into their hand, and their kings and the people of the land, that they might do with them what they would.

Psalms 44:1-3

1 {To the Chanter, an instruction of the sons of Korah} We have heard with our ears, O God; our fathers have told us what thou hast done in their time of old. 2 How thou hast driven out the Heathen with thy hand, and planted them in; how thou hast destroyed the nations and cast them out. 3 For they got not the land in possession through their own sword, neither was it their own arm that helped them — But thy righthand, thine arm and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.
