Isaiah 38 Cross References - MSTC

1 Not long afore this, was Hezekiah sick unto death: And the Prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came unto him, and said, "Thus commandeth the LORD, 'Set thine house in order: for thou must die, and shall not escape. 2 Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, 3 and said, "Remember, O LORD, that I have walked before thee in truth and a steadfast heart, and have done the thing that is pleasant to thee." And Hezekiah wept sore. 4 Then said God unto Isaiah, 5 "Go and speak unto Hezekiah: The LORD God of David thy father sendeth thee this word, 'I have heard thy prayer, and considered thy tears: behold, I will put fifteen years more unto thy life, 6 and deliver thee and the city also, from the hand of the king of Assyria, for I will defend the city. 7 And take thee this token of the LORD, that he will do it, as he hath spoken: 8 Behold, I will return the shadow of Ahaz's dial, that now is laid out with the Sun, and bring it ten degrees backward.'" While I was yet taking my rest, he hewed me off, and made an end of me in one day.' 13 I thought I would have lived unto the morrow, but he bruised my bones like a lion, and made an end of me in one day. 14 Then chattered I like a swallow, and like a crane, and mourned as a dove. I lift up mine eyes to the height: 'O LORD,' say I, 'violence is done unto me, be thou surety for me.' 15 What shall I say? The Lord hath made a promise to me. Yea, and he himself hath performed it. I shall therefore, as long as I live, remember bitterness of my life. 16 O LORD, men may live beyond their years, and I will declare to all men that even in those years, it was thou that causedest me to sleep, and again thou hast given me life. 17 Behold, bitter as gall was my pensiveness: so sore longed I for health. And it was thy pleasure to deliver me from the filthy pit: for thou it is, O Lord, that hath cast all my sins behind thy back. 18 For hell praiseth not thee, death doth not magnify thee. They that go down into the grave, praise not thy truth: 19 but the living, yea the living acknowledge thee, like as I do this day. The father telleth his children of thy faithfulness. 20 Deliver us, O LORD, and we will sing praises in thy house, all the days of our life." 21 And Isaiah said, "Take a plaster of figs, and lay it upon the sore, so shall it be whole." 22 Then said Hezekiah, "O what a great thing is this, that I shall go up in to the house of the LORD."

I have heard thy prayer and seen thy tears. Behold, I will heal thee, and this day three days thou shalt go up into the house of the LORD. 6 And I will lengthen thy days yet fifteen years, and will deliver both thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria, and will defend this city for mine own sake, and for David my servant's sake." 7 And Isaiah said, "Bring a lump of figs." And they brought and put it on the sore, and he recovered. 8 Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, "What is the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up into the house of the LORD the third day?" 9 And Isaiah said, "This sign shalt thou have of the LORD, that the LORD will do that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back again ten degrees?" 10 And Hezekiah said, "It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees. He is my God, and I will glorify him! He is my father's God, and I will lift him up on high! 3 The LORD is a man of war, Jehovah is his name: 4 Pharaoh's chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea. His jolly captains are drowned in the reed sea; 5 the deep waters have covered them; they sank to the bottom as a stone. 6 Thine hand, LORD, is glorious in power, thine hand, LORD, hath all to dashed the enemy. 7 And with thy great glory thou hast destroyed thine adversaries! Thou sentest forth thy wrath and it consumed them, even as stubble. 8 With the breath of thine anger the water gathered together and the floods stood still as a rock, and the deep water congealed together in the midst of the sea. 9 The enemy said, 'I will follow and overtake them, and will divide the spoil: I will satisfy my lust upon them: I will draw my sword, and mine hand shall destroy them.' 10 Thou blewest with thy breath and the sea covered them, and they sank as lead in the mighty waters. 11 Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among gods? Who is like thee, so glorious in holiness, fearful, laudable and that showest wonders? 12 Thou stretchedest out thy right hand, and in the earth swallowed them. 13 And thou carriedest with thy mercy this people which thou deliveredest, and broughtest them with thy strength unto thy holy habitation! 14 The nations heard, and were afraid. Pangs came upon the Philistines. 15 Then the dukes of the Edomites were amazed, and trembling came upon the mightiest of the Moabites, and all the inhabiters of Canaan waxed faint-hearted. 16 Let fear and dread fall upon them through the greatness of thine arm, and let them be as still as a stone, while thy people pass through, O LORD; while the people pass through, which thou hast gotten. 17 Bring them in and plant them in the mountains of thine inheritance, the place, LORD, which thou hast made for to dwell in, the sanctuary, LORD, which thy hands have prepared. 18 The LORD reign ever and always!" 19 For Pharaoh went in on horseback with his chariots and horsemen into the sea, and the LORD brought the waters of the sea upon them. And the children of Israel went on dry land through the midst of the sea. 20 And Miriam, a prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women came out after her with timbrels in a dance. 21 And Miriam sang before them, "Sing ye unto the LORD, for he is become glorious indeed! The horse and his rider hath he overthrown in the sea!"

Deuteronomy 32:39

39 "'See, now, how that I — I am he: and that there is no God but I. I can kill, and make alive; and what I have smitten, that I can heal. Neither is there that can deliver any man out of my hand.

Judges 5:1-31

1 Then Deborah, and Barak the son of Abinoam, sang the same day, saying, 2 "Praise the LORD in them that were willing, while others sat still in Israel. 3 Hear kings and hearken lords, I will sing, and give praise unto the LORD God, of Israel. 4 LORD, when thou departedest out of Seir and camest from the fields of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heaven rained, and the clouds dropped water: 5 the mountains melted before the LORD, even mount Sinai before the LORD God of Israel. 6 In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath and in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied. And they that walked by paths, went by ways that set compasses about. 7 The villages were uninhabited in Israel; were uninhabited until I, Deborah, arose; until I arose a mother in Israel. 8 "God chose new fashions of war, for when they had war at their gates: there was not seen, among forty thousand, either shield or spear in Israel. 9 Mine heart loveth the maintainers of the law in Israel, that are willing among the people. 10 Bless the LORD, ye that ride on goodly asses and sit in judgment. And ye that walk by the ways, make ditties. 11 Now the archers did cry, where men draw water; there shall they tell of the justice of the LORD, and of the justice of his uplandish folk in Israel. And then the people of the LORD went down unto the gates. 12 Up, up. Deborah! Up, up, and sing a song! Up, Barak, and take thy prey, thou son of Abinoam! 13 "Then they that had escaped, reigned over the proudest of the people. The LORD reigneth over the strong. 14 Ephraim was the first against Amalek, and after them Benjamin, among the people. Of Machir came learned men in the law, and of Zebulun that well could draw with the pen of a scribe. 15 The lords of Issachar were with Deborah. And as Barak, even so was Issachar sent into the valley afoot. But in the divisions of Reuben, were great imaginations of heart. 16 Wherefore abodest thou among the sheepfolds, to hear the bleatings of the flocks? In the divisions of Reuben, great were the imaginations of heart. 17 Gilead abode on the other side Jordan, and why tarried Dan in ships? And Asher sat in the havens of the sea, and abode still in his own coasts. 18 But Zebulun is a people that put their lives in jeopardy of death, and Naphtali in like manner, even unto the top of the fields. 19 Kings came and fought. Then fought the king of Canaan at Taanach, upon the water of Megiddo. But the silver that they coveted, they carried not away. 20 From heaven came battle: for the stars, being in their course, fought against Sisera. 21 The river of Kishon caught them away: that ancient river, the river Kishon. My soul, tread thou the mighty underfoot. 22 Then they mauled the horses' legs, that their mighty coursers left prancing. 23 'Curse Meroz,' bade the angel of the LORD, 'Curse, Curse the inhabiters thereof because they came not forth to help the LORD, to help the LORD among the mighty.' 24 Blessed be Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite, above other women: above other women blessed be she in the tent. 25 He asked water, but she gave him milk, and brought butter in a goodly dish. 26 She caught a nail in her left hand, and a working hammer in her right, and nailed Sisera and wounded his head and pierced and went through his temples. 27 Between her feet he bowed himself, fell down and lay still: Between her feet he bowed himself and fell. And whither he bowed himself, thither he fell, brought to nought. 28 Through a window looked Sisera's mother and howled through a lattice, 'Why abideth his chariot so long, that it cometh not? Why tarry the wheels of his wagons?' 29 The wisest of her ladies answered her: yea and she answered her own words herself, 30 'Haply, they have found, and divide, the spoil. A maid, yea two maids for a piece: a spoil of divers colours for Sisera, a spoil of divers colours with broidered works, divers coloured broidered works for the neck for a prey.' 31 So, perish all thine enemies LORD: but they that love thee, let them be as the sun rising in his might!" And the land had rest forty years.

1 Samuel 2:1-10

1 And Hannah prayed and said, "Mine heart rejoiceth in the LORD. Mine horn is high in the LORD and my mouth is wide open over mine enemies, for I rejoice in thy salvation. 2 There is none so holy as the LORD: no, there is none save thou. Neither is there any strength like unto our God. 3 Let go your great boasting of high things, let go out of your mouth that old byword: for the LORD is a God that knoweth all things, and judgeth the thoughts. 4 The bows of the strong are broken: and the weak are endued with strength. 5 They that were full, have hired out themselves for bread, and they that were hungry cease so to be: insomuch that the barren hath borne seven, and she that had many children is waxed feeble. 6 The LORD killeth and maketh alive; bringeth down to hell and fetcheth up again. 7 The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich; bringeth low, and heaveth up on high. 8 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill: to set them among princes, and to inherit them with the seat of glory. For the pillars of the earth are the LORD's, and he hath set the round world upon them. 9 He will keep the feet of his saints but the wicked shall keep silence in darkness. For in his own might shall no man be strong. 10 The LORD's adversaries shall be made to fear him: and out of heaven he shall thunder upon them. The LORD shall judge the ends of the world, and shall give might unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed."

Psalms 107:17-22

17 Foolish men were plagued for their offense, and because of their wickedness. 18 Their soul abhorred all manner of meat, and they were even hard at death's door. 19 So when they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, he delivered them out of their distress. 20 He sent his word, and healed them; and they were saved from their destruction. 21 O that men would therefore praise the LORD for his goodness, and declare the wonders that he doeth for the children of men! 22 — That they would offer unto him the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and tell out his works with gladness!

1 I am well pleased, that the LORD hath heard the voice of my prayer, 2 that he hath inclined his ear unto me; therefore will I call upon him as long as I live. 3 The snares of death compassed me round about, the pains of hell got hold upon me. 4 I shall find trouble and heaviness, and I will call upon the Name of the LORD, "O LORD, I beseech thee, deliver my soul."

For the LORD God is my strength and my praise whereof I sing: and is become my saviour. 3 And ye shall draw water in gladness out of the wells of salvation. 4 And ye shall say in that day, 'Give thanks unto the LORD: call on his name: make his deeds known among the heathen: remember that his name is high.' 5 Lift up! Jonah 2:1-9

1 And Jonah prayed unto the LORD his god out of the bowels of the fish. 2 And he said, "In my tribulation I called unto the LORD, and he answered me: out of the belly of hell I cried, and thou heardest my voice. 3 For thou hadst cast me down deep in the midst of the sea; and the flood compassed me about: and all thy waves and rolls of water went over me. 4 And I thought that I had been cast away out of thy sight. But I will yet again look toward thy holy temple. 5 The water compassed me even unto the very soul of me; the deep lay about me, and the weeds were wrapped about mine head. 6 And I went down unto the bottom of the hills, and was barred in with earth on every side forever. And yet thou, LORD my God, broughtest up my life again out of corruption. 7 When my soul fainted in me, I thought on the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, even into thy holy temple. 8 They that observe vain vanities, have forsaken him that was merciful unto them. 9 But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving, and will pay that that I have vowed, that saving cometh of the LORD."
