Selah. ⁶ For this shall every saint make his prayer unto thee in due season; but in the great water-floods they shall not come nigh him.

¹² O give me the comfort of thy help again, and establish me with thy free spirit. ¹³ Then shall I teach thy ways unto the wicked, that sinners may be converted unto thee.

² And the LORD said unto Satan, 'The LORD reprove thee, thou Satan; yea, the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem, reprove thee. Is not this a brand taken out of the fire?' ³ Now Joshua was clothed in unclean raiment, and stood before the angel: ⁴ Which answered and said unto those that stood before him, 'Take away the foul clothes from him.' And unto him he said, 'Behold, I have taken away thy sin from thee, and will deck thee with change of raiment.'

³ and said, "Verily, I say unto you, Except ye turn, and become as children, ye cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven.

⁷⁵ And Peter remembered the words of Jesus, which he said unto him, "Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice": and went out at the doors and wept bitterly.

⁷² And again the cock crew. And Peter remembered the word that Jesus said unto him. "Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice," and began to weep.

⁷ But go your way, and tell his disciples, and namely Peter, that he will go before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you."

¹³ They on the stones, are they which, when they hear, receive the word with joy. But these have no roots, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation go away.

Holy father, keep in thine own name them which thou hast given me, that they may be one as we are.

¹⁵ When they had dined, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon the son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these?" He said unto him, "Yea Lord, thou knowest, that I love thee." He said unto him, "Feed my lambs." ¹⁶ He said to him again the second time, "Simon the son of Jonas, lovest thou me?" He said unto him, "Yea Lord thou knowest that I love thee." He said unto him, "Feed my sheep." ¹⁷ He said unto him the third time, "Simon the son of Jonas, lovest thou me?" ¹⁹ Repent ye, therefore, and turn: that your sins may be done away when the time of refreshing cometh, which we shall have of the presence of the Lord,

⁹ Much more then, now seeing we are justified in his blood, shall we be saved from wrath through him. ¹⁰ For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his son: much more, seeing we are reconciled, we shall be preserved by his life.

³² Which spared not his own son, but gave him for us all: How shall he not with him give us all things also?

³⁴ who then shall condemn? It is Christ which is dead; Yea rather which is risen again, which is also on the righthand of God and maketh intercession for us.

⁴ which comforteth us in all our tribulation, insomuch that we are able to comfort them which are troubled, in whatsoever tribulation it be, with the same comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. ⁵ For as the afflictions of Christ are plenteous in us: even so is our consolation plenteous by Christ. ⁶ Whether we be troubled for your consolation and salvation, which salvation showeth her power in that ye suffer the same afflictions which we also suffer; or whether we be comforted for your consolation and salvation:

¹³ when before I was a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and a tyrant. But I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly, through unbelief: ¹⁴ Neverthelater, the grace of our Lord was more abundant, with faith and love, which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ This is a true saying, and by all means worthy to be received, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief: ¹⁶ for this cause was mercy given unto me, that Jesus Christ should first show on me all long patience, unto the example of them which shall, in time to come, believe on him unto eternal life.

¹⁸ which as concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already, and do destroy the faith of divers persons.

¹ Paul, the servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to preach the faith of God's elect, and the knowledge of that truth,

²⁵ Wherefore he is able also ever to save them that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth, to make intercession for us.

¹² Stretch forth therefore again the hands which were let down, and the weak knees, ¹³ and see that ye have straight steps unto your feet, lest any halting turn out of the way: yea, let it rather be healed.

¹⁵ And look to, that no man be destitute of the grace of God, and that no root of bitterness spring up and trouble; and thereby many be defiled:

¹ Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that dwell here and there as strangers throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia;

⁵ which are kept by the power of God through salvation, which salvation is prepared already to be showed in the last time,

¹³ Wherefore, gird up the loins of your minds, be sober, and trust perfectly on the grace that is brought unto you by the declaring of Jesus Christ;

⁸ Be sober, and watch. For your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: ⁹ whom resist, steadfast in the faith, remembering that ye do but fulfill the same afflictions which are appointed to your brethren that are in the world. ¹⁰ The God of all grace — which called you unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus — shall his own self, after ye have suffered a little affliction, make you perfect: shall settle, strengthen, and establish you.

¹⁰ Wherefore, brethren, give the more diligence for to make your calling and election sure. For if ye do such things, ye shall never err. ¹¹ Yea, and by this means an entering-in shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. ¹² Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of such things, though that ye know them yourselves and be also established in the present truth.

¹⁴ Wherefore, dearly beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot and undefiled:

¹⁷ Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know it beforehand: Beware, lest ye be also plucked away with the error of the wicked, and fall from your own steadfastness; ¹⁸ but grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord, and saviour Jesus Christ. To whom be glory both now and forever. Amen. {Here ends the Second General Epistle of Peter}

¹ My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye should sin not: if, though, any man sin, yet we have an Advocate with the father, even Jesus Christ, which is righteous. ² And he it is that obtaineth grace for our sins; and not for our sins only, but also for the sins of all the world.

¹⁹ They went out of us, but they were not of us. For if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us. But that fortuned, that it might appear that they were not of us.
