⁶⁰ and put it in his new tomb, which he had hewn out even in the rock, and rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre and departed. ⁶¹ And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre. ⁶² The next day that followeth the day of preparing, the high priests and Pharisees got themselves to Pilate, ⁶³ and said, "Sir, we remember that this deceiver said while he was yet alive, after three days I will arise again. ⁶⁴ Command, therefore, that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest peradventure his disciples come, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from death: And then the last error shall be worse than the first was." ⁶⁵ Pilate said unto them, "Take watchmen: Go and make it as sure as ye can." ⁶⁶ And they went and made the sepulchre sure with watchmen, and sealed the stone.

⁴⁶ And he bought a linen cloth, and took him down and wrapped him in the linen cloth, and laid him in a tomb, that was hewn out of the rock. And rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre. ⁴⁷ And Mary Magdalene and Mary Joseph beheld where he was laid.
