To whom less is forgiven, the same doeth less love." ⁴⁸ And he said unto her, "Thy sins are forgiven thee." ⁴⁹ And they that sat at meat with him, began to say within themselves, "Who is this which forgiveth sins also?" ⁵⁰ And he said to the woman, "Thy faith hath saved thee; Go in peace."

¹ Then resorted unto him all the publicans and sinners, for to hear him. ² And the Pharisees, and scribes murmured, saying, "He received to his company sinners, and eateth with them."

⁹ And Jesus said to him, "This day is health come unto this house, forasmuch as he also is become the child of Abraham. ¹⁰ For the son of man is come to seek, and to save that which was lost."

²² And he said unto him, 'Of thine own mouth judge I thee, thou evil servant. Knowest thou that I am a strait man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow?

³⁰ And the time of this ignorance God regarded not: but now he biddeth all men everywhere to repent,

¹⁹ Yea and we know that whatsoever the law saith, he saith it to them which are under the law: That all mouths may be stopped, and all the world be subdued to God,

²⁰ But the law, in the meantime, entered in that sin should increase. Neverthelater, where abundance of sin was, there was more plenteousness of grace.

³⁰ What shall we say then? We say that the gentiles which followed not righteousness, have overtaken righteousness: I mean, the righteousness which cometh of faith. ³¹ But Israel, which followed the law of righteousness, could not attain unto the law of righteousness. ³² And wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith: but as it were, by the works of the law. For they have stumbled at the stumbling stone. ³³ As it is written, "Behold I put in Zion a stumbling stone, and a rock which shall make men fall. And none that believe on him, shall be ashamed."

¹³ when before I was a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and a tyrant. But I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly, through unbelief: ¹⁴ Neverthelater, the grace of our Lord was more abundant, with faith and love, which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ This is a true saying, and by all means worthy to be received, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief: ¹⁶ for this cause was mercy given unto me, that Jesus Christ should first show on me all long patience, unto the example of them which shall, in time to come, believe on him unto eternal life.

⁹ The Lord is not slack to fulfill his promise as some men count slackness: but is patient to us ward and would have no man lost, but would receive all men to repentance.
